Myra's Song

Rate this book
A secret war. A prison planet. A quest to survive... Myra lost everything in Bane. Now, forced against her will to become a pawn in a very dangerous game she wakes up on an alien world called Eda, alone, inside a new body, in the ruins of a crashed starship. The rules are simple. If she is going to survive she must make it to the Hub, level up, and fight against alien creatures, daemons, and dungeons unlike anything she's ever seen.

Myra's Song is set in the Star Divers Universe but can be read Stand-Alone.

Wonderful Story!

Don’t let the bright colors on the cover fool you, this story is brutal. Myra is a cryomancer whose arm is torn off by a zombie bear in the first few chapters. Things only tend to get worst from there as she journeys across Eda, a planet that makes sci-fi and fantasy. Overall, a great standalone in a scifi series, the characters were fun and I enjoyed the storyline and how it was broken into two parts with an intermission between. It was a fun read and I look forward to reading more in the star divers series.

Absolutely fantastic story! The author really needs an editor because “vial” is “vile,” almost every bit of dialogue is a string of run-on sentences separated by seven or eight commas, a male character is addressed as a female and vice versa due to lack of proofreading, and there are several other issues that need to be addressed. Seriously. Bite the bullet and pay for an editor because this will become a bestseller.

I haven’t read other titles by this author, but the finesse with storytelling, the amount of care with the world building and character building makes overlooking all of the grammatical errors worth it.

Bad grammar, Stupid premise that isn't at all explained, constantly conflicting plot. pages of stats in the stat block that are never really used or relevant...I mean if they had taken this book to an editor they would have just been told to start over, so I guess it makes sense that they didn't. If the author was ESL maybe it would make sense but the dude apparently speaks English.

The protagonist constantly refuses to apply basic logic to anything. She dies 6 times to a level 10 boss mob in the starter zone while she is level 1 (to prove how hardcore the world is or something) then gets nothing for it when she manages to kill the thing. So then she decides to follow random npc's that show up for no apparent reason with a "hey let's do more quests that only pay out in xp that is pointless in this game as explained earlier.." philosophy. Just...smash your face into a wall or something, you will have a better time than trying to read this book.

Awe struck

If you like monsters, aliens, mechs, a prison planet, creative chaos with spilled jars of brilliance from a inkslinging wordsmith...this book might be for. This book explores a great blend of scifi and fantasy that entertains with humor like douglas adams. Out of the Star Divers series, this has been my fav. Dont pass on this

Really enjoyable read. There's a heck of a lot going on with various characters as the stakes continue to rise throughout the book but there's a great story at the heart of this. It's a standalone story too and no need to have read the other books in the Star Divers universe, really is worth giving this a go.
