Luna Winchester’s life is firmly entrenched in the coastal town of Huckleberry Bay, Oregon. A fourth-generation lightkeeper, Luna is carrying on the Winchester tradition by tending to the lighthouse. Plus, she’s decided to renovate a long-abandoned building on the property and make it a B&B, Luna’s Light. Surrounded by family and her two childhood best friends, her life is full.
Wolfe Conrad is in hiding, and he’s come to Huckleberry Bay to heal. A career-ending accident on the track nearly took his life, and now he seeks refuge to try and build a new one. The quaint town’s slow pace rattles the man whose first love is fast cars—and then there’s the beautiful innkeeper, who rattles him in different ways.
Falling in love with Luna definitely isn’t part of Wolfe’s plan. Local legends that tell of unrequited love and despair? Unbelievable. But stranger things have happened, like two strangers falling in love…

Stunningly magical! Lighthouse Way is the proof of not only Ms. Proby's genius contemporary romance writing, but also the addictive and extraordinary enchantment of small town romance! I loved, loved, LOVED everything about this book, from it's intriguing and relatable characters, the magic of the Huckleberry Bay setting, the hint of supernatural, yep, it all hit the right spot of this romance lover here!
Luna - can we take a second to gush about KP's talent for names and their meanings?!Wow! - and Wolfe were the perfect couple to not only introduce us to this world, and this community, but this brand new series, because not only was their story unique, intriguing and so soul warming, it gave us the change to meet every one of this small town character's that evidently have a life of their own, and I can't wait to find out every single one of this pairings, specially the other two musketeers, Sarah (and Tanner) and June (and Apollo).
The captivating and irresistible setting, a couple that stole my heart, specially Luna that was truly a guiding light - pun intended - with her serene and loving nature, for this group, and Wolfe with all his caring and Alpha personality, gifting us with perfect coupling, and its romantic and incredibly sexy journey, this was a fresh, and other-wordly beginning of a hugely promising series, that I'm already begging for the next story! I want to live in Huckleberry Bay too!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

This is my first book from author Kristen Proby and I really really loved it.
The pacing of the story was great. The things were progressing quite quickly and there wasn't any unnecessary drama. For me the trope was friends to lovers even though that the main characters didn't see each other for couple of years.
Now, let me tell you about the feelings that this book gave me. The story was soo gentle and romantic and honestly I needed to read a book like that. I was afraid that I won't feel anything reading it, because the last 2 books that I have read we're almost on the way to get me to a reading slump. Well, this book got me out of it in the most awesome way that I can imagine.
I can honestly say that Luna and Wolfe are a magnificent couple ♥️♥️♥️!
I can not wait for the next 2 books in the series. They will be great. I am sure if it.
Special thanks to Kristen Proby and Valentine PR for sending me this ARC copy!

Luna loves her small town of Huckleberry Bay and has had a deeper connection to it than even she could ever imagine. She is in charge of the lighthouse and is set to open a B&B surrounded by good friends and loved ones. When Wolfe returns to a town that he thought he never would return to, he finds that he is ready to set down roots and has an instant connection to Luna.
This was a fast paced romance that got right down to business between our main characters, but also set up some future stories as well. Kristen Proby has a way of connecting us to the whole cast and the whole town, while setting up intriguing storylines. For Lighthouse Way, there was a unique connection between Luna and the house she was living in that "speaks" to her. I loved that aspect of the story and how that played a role in many of their lives. This bit was probably my favorite part of the book.
Since I experienced this book by audio, I have to mention that Erin Mallon and Sebastian York really captured Wolfe and Luna and their love for one another as well as their love for the town of Huckleberry Bay. These narrators brought the characters alive and made me feel a part of their journey in the small town. Even though I'm not a huge fan of instalove, this story worked and I'm excited to see what Ms Proby will bring next in this world.
Lighthouse Way is the first book in Kristen Proby's newest series, Huckleberry Bay. This series takes place in a small coastal town full of history and charm. Lighthouse Way follows Wolfe and Luna. Wolfe and Luna grew up together before they both went their separate ways after high school. Wolfe is a racecar driver who is visiting Huckleberry Bay for a charity racing event. During the event, Wolfe crashes and suffers a brain injury that causes sporadic migraines, effectively ending his racing career. He decides to settle down in Huckleberry Bay at his parents' old home, which just happens to be neighbors with Luna, who owns the town's lighthouse and is refurbishing her property to be a bed and breakfast. These two quickly realize that they are not the same kids they were years ago and it doesn't take them long to act on the simmering chemistry between them.
This was such a quick and cute read! Huckleberry Bay is such a cute town. I loved the supporting cast of characters! Wolfe and Luna's romance was a bit too insta-lovey for my taste, but that's the nature of Proby's books. Further, Wolfe said something about maybe always being in love with her, but I definitely don't think the story was developed enough to catch those "always loved you" vibes. There's also a very slight paranormal aspect to this book that I wasn't too fond of, but it did add to the charm of the small town. I'm excited to see Luna's best friends, Sarah and June, get their stories next! I believe Fernhill Lane will be released later this year, and it will be Sarah's story!
TROPES: small town; childhood friends; racecar driver; great group of girlfriends
TRIGGER WARNINGS: mentions of domestic violence (one of the heroine's friends)
I was so excited to see that Kristen was giving us a new series set in Huckleberry Bay with a new cast of characters to get lost in. This is the story of Luna Winchester and Wolfe Conrad, childhood friends that seem to have drifted apart when Wolfe's racing career took off. Now after a terrible accident Wolfe is back in his hometown and the little girl, he once knew is all grown up and filled with sass. Luna is on her way to breaking into the B&B world yes, the inn may need so much TLC, but it will be so worth it in the end. It holds so many secrets, memories and maybe even a few spirits, but that doesn't scare this gal off it only adds to the charm and draw. The moment this couple reconnects you can feel the palpable heat and sizzle, but these once friends may now need to figure this whole new them. I loved the setting, the premise and the great supporting cast. I can't wait to see where this new series takes us! ~~Michele McMullen~~
I always get so excited with a new series, especially from one of my all-time favorite authors!
This small-town romance series, I can already tell will be a favorite of mine. I am already clamoring for the next book in the series!
Luna and Wolfe had that hot, yummy chemistry from the start. Could not put the book down once I started. Kristen has a way of making you feel as if you are part of the gang, the connection to her characters is homey and loving in ways I don't want the story to end.
I can't wait for more on the Oregon Coast with my friends in Huckleberry Bay!
An okay way to spend a few hours. Just felt like there was something missing throughout the story and with the MC’s. Some extra happenings felt completely unnecessary with the main couple. I know this is a set up to the rest of the series… will check out book 2 to see if it picks up.
Quaint hometown love story. Wolfe comes home for a special event…and doesn’t leave. Luna reconnects with Wolfe and the race is on. A little drama, a little action and a little ghost story all in one. HEA.
Exciting news Kristen Proby has a new series! I could not put down the first book, and dinner was late.
Huckleberry Bay, OR, is where the series takes place, and Luna’s family is in charge of the local lighthouse. It was never a question that the lighthouse is Luna’s future, and she has plans. Turning the old barn into a B&B reveals long-buried secrets.
Wolf grew up in Huckleberry Bay, but left soon after high school. Although, he has returned for a charity event, he is now a successful racecar driver.
I absolutely enjoyed their story and the town the author has created. After this book was done, I was left wanting more. I am excited to read the next book.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
3.0 Nice easy romance, quick read, no drama. Wolfe/Luna are childhood friends. He comes back into town, they quickly get together, done. She's got 2 best friends (June, Sarah) that you know will be matched up in coming books. June with Luna's brother, Sarah with her high-school ex. The only unusual aspect here is the friendly ghost that hangs outi in the Lighthouse that Luna owns.
No cliffhanger Standalone but part of a larger series Told from both POVs Childhood friends reunite and sparks fly
I wanted to love this book. I love this author and was hoping this series would be as good as her others. Unfortunately I was left with so many questions.
I’m guessing/ hoping this book was setting up the rest of the series because their love story felt rushed, disjointed and not the usual love story this author tells.
Beyond just that there were parts of the story that seemed, at least right now, totally pointless (the guy who’s car goes over the cliff) and the Rose mystery was pretty lackluster when revealed. I’m just at a loss here.
I love this author enough to keep reading future books in this series but man I hope they are better written and provide answers to some of the questions this book left me with. Like who started the fire in Wolfe’s garage.
Set in a small town, Lighthouse Way brought the easy and sweet romance Kristen's known for. With little to no drama, after years of knowing each other, Wolfe and Luna had no trouble reconnecting again. They hit it off quickly and were familiarized with each other.
Besides their love connection, the story introduced us to their friends, and they were a great addition to the plot. Their camaraderie was charming and their loyalty ran deep.
It also showed the tight support of the small community and some mystical elements (although, I wouldn't call it paranormal). This book was adorable and easy to read.
Luna has lived in Huckleberry Bay for most of her life, returning after college to run the lighthouse that her family has managed for generations. Her plans involve renovating the old outbuildings and turning the barn into a B&B to draw tourists to her small hometown.
Wolfe Conrad is back in her childhood home trying to figure out his next steps after an accident ended his racing career. He has a few ideas for his next steps, but he is plagued by setbacks from his accident.
Working together, their friendship blossoms into more. There is an element of the feelings between them having always been “a thing,” but their shift from friends to lovers happened quite swiftly in the present with only a few diary-entry flashbacks to build any kind of past bond. But it also felt real and I loved the way they support each other’s dreams and needs throughout the story.
Speaking of diaries, there are some interesting threads to the past in the form of a diary from one of the previous women who lived at the lighthouse, and her spirit is still around. Rose’s influence adds a slightly paranormal aspect, but her presence is not major. (For what it's worth I love the slight touch of ghostly activity!)
This book hit my Kindle at the perfect time. It was light, refreshing, and fun from start to finish. As the first in a new series from the author, this was a great small town introduction. There is plenty of focus on the main couple, but the town and neighbors are introduced in a way that makes me want to return to Huckleberry Bay for more of the stories of Luna’s friends. The mix of personalities and backstories that are teased promise to make this series one that brings the entertainment each time.
When race car driver Wolfe Conrad returns to his hometown of Huckleberry Bay, Oregon to participate in a charity race, he expects it to be a quick visit. Unfortunately, an accident on the track puts a premature end to his racing career, so he decides to stay in town and open a high-end garage specializing in vintage car restoration and repair. He moves into his late parents' house on Lighthouse Way and quickly reconnects with childhood friend and neighbor Luna Winchester, who took over for her parents as the lighthouse keeper when they retired to Florida. Now that they're both adults, Wolfe can't help seeing Luna as the attractive woman she's become; is it possible that they were always meant to be more than just friends?
I really enjoyed this story's quirky small town vibe as well as a lot of the background elements of the plot, especially Luna's quest to uncover the details of her ancestor Rose's tragic love affair. I also liked Wolfe and Luna as a couple, but something about the pacing of their relationship development felt off to me. It's tough to explain, but I think it was the fact that it felt so much like insta-love, which IMO is an odd combination with the friends-to-lovers trope. Granted, they were apart for a number of years, but they acted like they just saw each other yesterday when Wolfe came back to town. There was never really any acknowledgement of the many ways in which they each must have grown and changed in the time they were apart.
Further, I was somewhat annoyed with the way a few plot threads were just dropped at the end of the book, such as the investigation into the arson at Wolfe and Zeke's garage. I hope that will be addressed in the next book. The epilogue that wasn't really an epilogue, but rather a flashback setting up book 2, was also annoying. That said, the setup for book 2 (and beyond) is intriguing, and I liked the secondary characters enough to want to read their stories.
Despite my frustrations, I enjoyed "Lighthouse Way" and would recommend it for all contemporary/small town romance fans. I look forward to the next book in the series.

All of my favorites in one little package. A sweet sexy romance with a small town feel on the shoreline and so much room and potential to keep building on. Luna is a Huckleberry Bay lifer, she loves her little lighthouse and the history behind it. Now the lighthouse keeper and working to build a beautiful Bed & Breakfast on the property, she is a worker. Family and friends are where she loves spending any spare time she has. Seeing Wolfe back in HB has stirred some feelings for a once upon a time friend. Wolfe is back in town for the first time in a very long time to be part of a race. Excited to see the people of his past and enjoy it. He never expected the upheaval that this race will bring him. Finding himself healing and trying to build a new life in the town he was once so eagar to leave. But now that he is back he has a strange sense of missing so much while away. Feeling a wonderful draw to his childhood friend Luna. Could this new start in his old town be just what Wolfe needed all along? Have they found their love in the place they always called home? Ms. Proby gives us her classic love story with a warm blanket and a cup of cocoa. There is so much potential and room to grow with this series. I am excited for more. *** Advanced copy provided in exchange for an honest review.***
A small town - Huckleberry Bay. A lighthouse. A found diary, the contents of which recounted an interrupted love story. Friendships of many years.
Luna and Wolfe were friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. He had fled the city and had a brilliant career in the stock car, until an accident injured his leg and caused him to have raging migraines. After that, he decided it was time to go back and establish his new car repair shop and customization business. Luna came from the family who took care of the lighthouse, an important point of support for boats in the region. She had left the city for a short time, for her studies, already knowing that she would return. Her place was there. Also, her focus was on turning the family's old barn into a B&B. Her friend June, who worked in construction, would help with this endeavor. And let's not forget the third friend, Sarah, who had married a millionaire a few years ago and moved far away, making it impossible for Luna and June to keep in touch with her, and having a whole mystery behind it _ since Sarah came of complicated and abusive parents. There are encounters and disagreements. Secrets revealed. Pain (sometimes physical). Beginnings and passions. All this makes the new series a box of surprises ready to be opened and explored, with the presence of something supernatural. 4 stars
5 star Review of Lighthouse Way (Huckleberry Bay #1) by Kristen Proby
When I heard that Kristen Proby had a new series releasing I was so excited and I couldn’t wait to dive in. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that Kristen Proby wove about Luna Winchester and Wolfe Conrad. If this book is anything to go by then Ms.Proby has another winning series on her hands. After a horrific accident ends his racing career and nearly costs him his life, Wolfe returns home to Huckleberry Bay . I was intrigued by Luna, I don’t believe I have read many books where the heroine is a lighthouse keeper (let alone that she is following a tradition passed down through her family) and that intrigued me. Her life is full with family and friends and yet she also plans to open her own Bed and Breakfast called Luna’s Light (I just love the name). The very last thing that Wolfe expected when he returned to Huckleberry Bay to heal was to fall in love with Luna and yet the chemistry that sizzles between them is impossible to ignore. I loved their journey, the characters and the overall feel of this book. In fact I loved everything about this book, it was a great start to the Huckleberry Bay, Oregon series and I for one cannot wait for the next book.
I'm going to start out by saying that I've yet to come across a Kristen Proby book that I haven't loved no matter what genre she writes in as she's so talented. I tend to read the dark romance the most since I'm a dark & twisty sort of girl, but Lighthouse Way certainly had my dark heart all mushy that's for sure. Luna has never wanted to go anywhere else besides Huckleberry Bay since her family are the lighthouse keepers, so it was her turn to carry on the Winchester tradition. She's also renovating an abandoned building into a B&B as well so her life is full. Wolfe couldn't wait to leave Huckleberry Bay in his rearview mirror, but when his life takes a turn & ends his racing career, he finds himself back home. He & Luna were close friends growing up, but they drifted apart as they became adults (especially since he left town as fast as possible after high school). He ends up settling at his parent's old home which is neighbors with his old friend, but there's more brewing than just an old friendship as the sparks are flying. I really loved the heartwarming portion of this program, and the paranormal aspect only made it better so you really don't want to pass on this awesome story since I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Get ready for a new haunting romance by Kristen Proby that will make you want more in just the first chapter. We have a whole new town to fall in love and boy just reading about the lighthouse seem so lifelike it's like you right there by the cliff hearing the waves and seeing the breeze go by. Huckleberry Bay may seem like a small town for a wanderer like Wolfe but to Luna it is her everything and sweet home life. Seeing this town through their eyes was beautiful and seeing the diaries of Luna's ghost felt like a moment in time. We see two people in the process of making their dreams come true and then Kristen Proby throws a bit of mystery with the ghost. In a way this is more than just Luna making her dreams come true but we see Wolfe realize home is eactly what he needs. All in all this was a great story to start the series because it introduces us to Luna and her two friends which gives us a teaser of what Kristen's talented imagination is brewing.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
I think I want to live in this town called Huckleberry Bay 😊 I know this new series by Kristen Proby is going to be awesome 😊
Wolfe is a racecar driver who will visiting his hometown for a charity got into an accident. Now his career is over, his healing from the accident and suffering from terrible headaches. He needs to find a new career. While his home he decides to settle down in his childhood home and open a garage doing custom builds on cars. This is also the time he meets an old childhood friend, Luna who owns the town’s lighthouse is she is opening a bed and breakfast. Quickly they become inseparable and definitely not lacking on chemistry 😊
I enjoyed the first book in this new series. It had such a cute romantic vibe that you will just want to hide out in a corner and sit and fall in love with the characters. The story was filled with a bit of suspense/paranormal’ish (you will see when you read the book 😊) Lots of good vibes and just pure romance 😊 I cant wait to read June and Sarah’s (Luna’s friends) stories ❤
This is the first in a new small town family series by beloved author Kristen Proby. We meet a whole cast of characters as she develops the world of Huckleberry Bay. All of them grew up together but a couple have been missing from the town for years.
Wolfe and Luna not only lived next door to each other, they were the best of friends growing up. Wolfe left and became famous. But now he is back. It takes very little time for them to renew their friendship and to blossom into something more.
There is very little angst and just a bit of paranormal happening in this small town. I loved all the banter and humor readers of come to know this author for. Luna and Wolfe are perfect for each other and for the spirit of the town.
There is lots of tension and chemistry happening among their group of friends. I can't wait to see where the pieces fall. Great start to a series. Looking forward to the next book!
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lighthouse Way by Kristen Proby is my first book from this author. It's a sweet and heartfelt romance story with a light paranormal twist. I've recently read a lot of dirty, smutty, steamy stories, so the steam factor on this book was maybe a 2 out of 5 for me. It was a nice change for sure.
The book had good characters and the small town setting is fun. I liked Rose's shenanigans.
Having said that, I didn't like the main character's diary entries. It just didn't feel all that relevant to me. It was more confusing and a hassle to read through even though they were short entries. I don't think the story really needed it. Rose's diary had me interested, but it didn't really reveal too much. The mystery felt a bit short lived.
They're romance was quick and lacked the heat and intensity that I needed to get emotionally attached. The fight they had was quick and resolved right after, not giving the reader a chance to really feel the struggle and the pain.
I think overall it was lighthearted and was entertaining. I'd be interested in reading about Sarah and Tanner or Juniper and Apollo.
After an accident derails Wolfe’s successful career as a race car driver he finds himself at a crossroads. He has returned to his hometown healing from his injuries while he determines what his future will hold. This allows him to spend time with the woman he grew up and was friends with who is starting to feel like so much more.
Luna has always known what her future would hold and that is staying in her hometown and following in her family’s footsteps of managing the lighthouse. The one aspect she hadn’t anticipated was Wolfe as after he left town to pursue his career she didn’t think he would return.
This is a heartwarming and romantic story as Wolfe and Luna are reunited. They are surrounded by a great group of secondary characters that leaves us wanting more of this series and stories set in this locale.
Kristen Proby is back with a brand new book in a brand new series and y'all, I can already tell this is gonna be a favorite of mine. Small town romance packed with heart, heat and ALL of the feels. Kristen is back with an unforgettable romance and you can sign me up every time she writes something new, especially beauties like this.
Lighthouse Way is the first in the Huckleberry Bay series (y'all seriously... Huckleberry **all the heart eyes.) introducing us to Luna and Wolfe and y'all.. just wait until you meet these two and race through their story. So much of everything I love in allllllll the moments.
I was delighted when I learned that Kristen Proby was starting a new series- Huckleberry Bay. The first book in the series concentrates on Luna and Wolfe. They knew each other as children and reconnect as adults. This book has multiple layers and captured my interest straight away and held it well after the last page. I’m still thinking about it. It’s lays the groundwork for the rest of the series. I loved Huckleberry Bay and want to live there. The people are really interesting and I’m looking forward to learning more about them. I enjoyed Luna and Wolfe and how their relationship evolves. I love their friends and want to know their backstories and what will happen to them. I found this a really interesting book and it looks like it’s the beginning of an exciting series. I’m so looking forward to reading the next instalment. I received this book from the author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I love Kristen Proby's books! She is now developing another new series in Huckleberry Bay, a small beach town in the coast of Oregon. Luna and Wolfe have been friends when they were young but growing up grew apart. He became a famous car race driver living the fast life until an unfortunate accident that changed his life. Luna is starting a bread and breakfast at her town reforming the lighthouse with so many history. She discover a lovely ghost who helps her and her friends. Wolf and Luna are sexy and so great together! I just loved this book!
I love everything about this book and already can’t wait until the next one in the series! It has everything you’re looking for in a book, Chemistry? Laughter? Little bit of mystery? Check, Check, and Check! It has all the feels and HOLY HOTNESS!!! Is it possible to drool over someone I can only read about and picture in my head? It was brilliant obviously I expected nothing less as every book of Kristen’s is the same! But damn she’s outdone herself this time!
Wolfe and Luna took my heart. Their story is just refreshing and moves naturally with no drama aside from what they're each going through. This is an amazing town and characters that the author has created and it makes me want to move there. I was moved, sucked in, and now I need more!
This is Luna and Wolfe’s story. Luna is the lightkeeper of the town. She is also working on creating her own B&B as she knows she will stay in this town all her life. Wolfe is in hiding. He is a racer and had a career -ending accident. Can he ever race again? It used to be the only thing that he had an interest in that is until he met Luna. She makes him feel things her never knew he wanted. But will she give him a chance? Can they build a future together?
I loved this book! Kristen Proby writes some of my favorite series and I can tell I’m going to love this new series! Luna and Wolfe were so much fun. I loved their chemistry and friendship. I loved the small town setting and can’t wait for the next two books!
