Psychic Touch #2
Beyond Touch
As Kahrren works to recover from the ordeal she faced six months previously, Portland is in the grip of a series of unprecedented storms. When the power goes out all over the city, the citizens of the Rose City go into a panic.
During a break in the storms, Detectives Sharp and Adams are called to the scene of the most unsettling murder they have faced. With no evidence forthcoming in their investigation, they turn to Kahrren, with the hope that her ability will steer them in the right direction.

Kahrren is back! Although she’s still recovering from her numerous injuries, don’t count her out of the game. This time, her psychic abilities of being able to see and hear the thoughts of others occur without actually touching the person. This second book in the series picks up just after the first book, Touch Sense. Many of the same likable characters return, including Detectives Jim Sharp and Mitch Adams, my personal favorites. When a homicide victim is discovered encased in resin, the entire Portland Police Department begins working feverishly to come up with leads to solve the crime. But when none are forthcoming, the detectives seek help from Kahrren. The story takes off from that point just like in the first book! There are plenty of unanticipated twists, humor, action, and drama. This book is well written, engaging and highly entertaining. I highly recommend this novel as well as Touch Sense, the first book in the series.

OK THIS IS GOING TO BE A BESTSELLER🙌
Trust me y'all, you need to read this series right now!🔥
It's so hard to write a spoiler free review but here it is:

As soon as I was done with the first book I wanted to have the sequel in my hand and now that it's released, and having read it, I feel the wait was soo worth it.
Kahrren's story picks up from where the first book ended in this one. We get to see how her powers are advancing and the troubles she has to face because of that. But alongside that, we get the main story, that is, a body has been found by the police. It was in the worst mutilated state and was found in a museum preserved in resin in the box shape! Like damn! That in itself is an awesome and gruesome case to solve.
The best thing about all of this is that the author has done really good research, all the police terms as well as the medical terms were very accurate and it wasn't like it was excessive to a point that we can't understand it. It was just the perfect amount of terminology that was easy to understand yet accurate, I loved that🙌.
I feel like Kahrren, Mitch and her friends are like a found family and I want in! They're so awesome and I loved reading about Lorna and Kahrren bantering, it was so fun. Since the first book explained a lot about all of the characters, reading this book was like paying a visit to old friends and never for a moment did I feel any less intrigued or fun.
The pace was just perfect, I couldn't read it fast enough, I felt like I would fly off the page if I tried to read any faster, that probably shows how invested I got by the climax.
I've got soo much more to say, I need to clam down because damn this book was perfect🕺🕺🕺
Like seriously, how isn't this series more famous yet?! If I had to recommend one mystery book to someone, hands down, this is it🙌 The books keeps getting better and better, I can't imagine where the next book's level is gonna be at, hats off🥳

I’ve been looking forward to this sequel since I finished Touch Sense. I’m happy to say it’s just as good as the first book! It takes place a few months after Touch Sense ends. But now our psychic protagonist with the oddly-spelled name has even more heightened powers. And she’s working with the police to help solve another murder. The book is well written, with a great balance of suspense and witty dialogue. A fun read for sure. Now I’m looking forward to the 3rd and final book of the series!

After reading Touch Sense, I was anxiously awaiting Beyond Touch! Both of these books kept me on the edge of my seat and I was barely able to put them down. A book has to really grab my attention for me to read it. They did that in spades! Can't wait for the next one!
