A Mountain Christmas Romance by Misty M. Beller

Opal Boyd learned long ago that most men can’t be trusted. But when a gruff mountain man on a desperate mission travels through her remote Wyoming mountain town, she can’t deny how Matthias Bjork’s loneliness touches her heart.
When Matthias shares the magical experience of his family’s traditional Viking Yule celebration, Opal can’t help but fall a little bit in love… But when his search for his missing sister puts Opal in danger, Matthias must sacrifice everything to rescue her.

Bundle of Joy by Robin Lee Hatcher

In this sweet contemporary romance, Alicia Harris can’t bear to disappoint her grandfather by telling him she’s two months away from being a single mother—so she tells a white lie. But when Grandpa Roger drops in unexpectedly to spend the holidays with Alicia and her husband, Alicia needs to find a fill-in—fast. Childhood friend Joe Palermo fits the bill and is willing to play along. Still, the longer they spend playing pretend, the closer Alicia and Joe come to discovering what love, faith, and marriage truly mean.

Christmas Bride by Linda Ford

Josh Kinsley thought he’d be eating a Christmas turkey with his family—not trapped and forced to work in a mine. He escapes along with beautiful Katie Webster, who was also captured by the band of outlaws.
As Josh and Katie are forced to survive a cruel winter in the wilderness, they must learn to trust each other. But will their adventures help them admit their growing feelings or will the danger keep them apart?

A Sugar Plum Christmas by Kari Trumbo

Nadia has always been on the fringe of society. As a former prostitute, she knows what people think as they look at her. But is there a way to overcome their disdain? Or is she destined to be lonely forever? When Rock, her boss and owner of the Last Chance Saloon, issues a challenge she can’t refuse, she hopes her efforts will finally make a difference. The first person who accepts her is the one she least expected. Changing her life just might also mean…love.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside by Susan May Warren

Dottie Morgan, alone and bitter, would like nothing more than to hide and let the Christmas season pass her by.
After serving as a mechanic in the Army’s motor pool, spinster Violet Hart has returned home to a community that doesn’t quite know what to do with her.
Former soldier Jake Ramsey has been in love with Violet for years—about as long as he’s been keeping a secret that just might break her heart.
And then there’s Gordon Lindholm, the farmer from across the field who harbors his own grief—and love—for the woman he can’t forget.
When the blizzard of the decade traps Dottie in her home, along with Violet, Jake, Gordon and a wandering child in need of rescue, the strangers must band together to survive. And in doing so, they just might discover the magic of Christmas and a miracle that will heal all their hearts.

A Cowboy for Christmas by Lacy Williams

Cowboy Ricky White has been running from his past for so long that he’s lost his way. When he hires on as a ranch hand for Daisy’s father, he believes he’s found his one chance to find redemption. But his secrets are looming and he’ll need a Christmas miracle to win the prickly Daisy’s heart—and maybe find his way home again.

This is an excellent collection of stories that can be read any time of year. It was fun to read Christmas-themed stories, something I rarely do. I enjoyed them all for different reasons, and some more than others, but they are all well-written and worth reading so you can find your own favorite(s). A Mountain Christmas Romance by Misty Beller: I liked that there was an element to mystery in the story. Ms. Beller always does a great job of evoking the mountains about which she writes, and the information about Viking traditions was fun to learn. In Bundle of Joy by Robin Lee Hatcher I found myself liking Joe rather than Alicia. She was in what she felt was a desperate situation which made her do things she wouldn’t normally do, but her subterfuge went on for too long. I enjoyed watching Joe’s relationship with her grandfather who was a great character. Christmas Bride by Linda Ford is an exciting story that kept me turning pages. I could hear, smell, and see the journey as the two characters trekked across the mountain. Josh is a swoon-worthy hero. A Sugar Plum Christmas by Kari Trumbo was a slow start for me because the main characters spent a lot of time bickering and disliking each other. The premise is unique, and I enjoyed watching the story play out. Baby, It’s Cold Outside by Susan May Warren is a difficult book to read because of all the sadness. Each character is dealing with deep loss. The story is well-written, as this author’s always are, and well-worth reading to the end. Difficult topics are handled with sensitivity and realism. The characters have stayed with me long after finishing the book. A Cowboy for Christmas by Lacy Williams is my favorite. Both characters are interesting and unique. I won’t give a spoiler, but the author has obviously done a lot of research about Daisy’s situation and how things would have been handled in that era. She is realistic with lots of gumption, even though she doesn’t initially realize it. I love Ricky, a tough but tender cowboy dealing with his own issues. His dad shows up late in the story, and I loved the man. A great story.

My favorite in this collection is Susan May Warren's story, close second is Lacy Williams' (second only because I'd read it before - it's my favorite of her White family books), and third is Misty Beller's. The other two were okay. Makes for nice holiday reading in between getting ready for Christmas.

This book was a fun read. I particularly enjoyed the last three stories, but I enjoyed the all. They are not all “historical” stories, but they all were Christmasy and focused on family at some point of the story. Caring about them, not wanting to disappoint them, being close to them, etc. which I think is what having a heritage is about is your family. My favorite story was the one by Susan May Warren, followed closely by the stories written by Kari Trumbo and Lacy Williams. I honestly didn’t think I was going to like Warren story with how it started, but I loved the characters and the story by the time I was a third of the way through the book. The Flash Gordon stuff was a bit confusing to me, but I like the rest. The story by Robin Lee Hatcher was another favorite too. All of the stories were super cute.

Some excellent stories and some ok

I guess my definition of “heirloom” must have been different than the anthologist because one of the stories was set in the present era which wasn’t what I was looking for in this book. I have read books from all these authors previously. Some of these stories are related to their current series, and some are stand alone short novels. My favorite was the Warren book. I cried so much for that one. Warren is an excellent writer. It was also interesting to follow a story written just post-WWII in the USA, which isn’t a common setting. My second favorite was the Williams story. It was perhaps a bit more predictable than the Warren book, but still quite good. The others were just average and until I hit Warren’s story, I was a little disappointed in my purchase. I was reading just to finish the book, and not so much out of enjoyment.

The first book is the only author I have read books from. I'm glad to find more books that are clean in the author's writing. Clean meaning no swear words, no bedroom scenes and stuff like that. Clean good books.

A Mountain Christmas by Misty M. Beller
Wyoming Mountain Tales #4
I'm so happy Misty wrote a book for Opal and how she was able to get rid of the wall she put up so she can find love as well from her last experience with men in her family. Such a wonderful, adventurous, western book!

Bundle of Joy by Robin Lee Hatcher
I love this story of Alicia and Joe. Best friends since childhood. Joe's family moved away. When they were adults found each other on an online app.
Alicia just had a divorce and pregnant. Her grandpa was coming for a visit but her grandpa didn't know all the details of her life. She asked her friend Joe to be her pretend husband. Joe reluctantly agreed and also wanted to help Alicia out. So he quit his job and moved to where Alicia lived.
So many things happened after the beginning of the story. I'll let her read to find out more.
Only thing that bothered me was the repeat over and over of what Alicia and Joe were thinking. Maybe some of the repeating could have been left out. At the same time I think I do this in my own mind and I drive myself nuts. It works!

A Christmas Bride by Linda Ford
This was a good book about struggles, hardship they had to face, learning to trust others, and finding hope.
Josh was tricked into working with a man named Bull and then was trapped with him for a year working in a mine. Josh tried to escape a few times but never got out.
Katie was a mail order bride and her husband sold her to Bull in a card game. Katie was a prisoner as well.
Josh and Katie eventually escaped in the winter time out in the middle of no where. They had to learn to trust each other and find civilization to survive.
Sam is a feisty boy they find and he was able to help them out somewhat. Sam holds a secret they find out later in the book.
Will they survive? Will they find help? I'll let you read to find out.

A Sugar Plum Christmas by Kari Trumbo
This is a short good book. Fear of change, of gossip, not trusting anyone because of life choices. To changing your life for the better and slowly trusting people.

Baby, It's Cold Outside by Susan May Warren
This book started out slow and I had to figure out what was going on in it. I got a bit mixed up on who is talking in the chapters especially when a little boy Arnie came into the story.
I love the story of hardship people faced in war and loved ones waiting for them at home, second chances, forgiveness and the spirit of Christmas to bring people together.
Violet, Jake, Dottie and Gordy are wonderful characters in this wonderful book.
Violet story of working with her dad on vehicles and tractors and not thinking any man would want to marry someone who was covered in dirt and grease.
This reminded me of working with my dad on vehicles and bikes in the garage. Asking my dad about boys and how no boys wanted to date me. Brought back some good memories.

A Cowboy For Christmas by Lacy Williams
I couldn't put this western story down. I'm a sucker for them.
Daisy is a young woman who was in an accident and the result of the accident was losing her arm. She thought her whole world and dreamed were gone because she couldn't do things like she used to with one arm. Daisy kept herself in her room most days and hardly left the house. Never went to town for anything and hiding from her friends who came by to see her. When she was forced to be around people, she had a hard time focusing and worried about people's comments and rumors.

Ricky was a cowboy who is running from his past and asked for a job as a farm hand. He wants to change from his past wrongs he's done and be a better person. He notices Daisy at the ranch and wanted to see if he could help her out of her dull drums as a friend. Some how secrets a rise and come out sooner or later from the past. See what happens in the rest of the story.

A Sweet and Christian, Historical and Contemporary, Romance Collection

A Mountain Christmas Romance by Misty Beller (Wyoming Mountain Tails #4)

Finally, book four!  We go back to Mountain Bluff and the German couple, where Opal has made a life for herself!  But we also get to revisit the couples from books 1 and 3.  That’s one of the things I truly love about series.  Getting more than just the epilogue of their continuing stories and visiting the friends we made previously!  This book doesn’t disappoint, yet it bares it’s own unique tale.  We even get a bit of history as we get a taste of both Viking and German Christmas traditions.  A great finish to a wonderful series!

Bundle of Joy by Robin Lee Hatcher

I wasn't expecting a contemporary story.  I don't read a lot of those.  But, I was quickly pulled into the schemes and couldn't wait to figure out how this web of lies would turn into a Happy Ever After ending!  I wasn't disappointed at all!

Christmas Bride by Linda Ford

I loved how no matter the circumstances, no matter the fear, God was always their comfort, (even when Josh had to fake his conviction, however temporarily).  His faith, even when it wavered, bolsted them all, and his new friends, in turn, came to trust God!  They slowly but surely, gained a new faith in the goodness of men too, because of how Josh treated them!  This book reminds me of a quote by Gaur Gopal Das, "Live your life in such a way that those who know you but don't know God, will come to know God because they know you."  I also loved the reunion, even though I suspected the possibility of his saviors.

A Sugar Plum Christmas by Kari Trumbo

I never heard anything about either the hero or heroine becoming Christians, but they seemed to grow in character as the story progressed.  I liked that they came from terrible pasts, but they have a bright future!  Definitely not my favorite story of Kari's but maybe I just need to read more of the Cutter Creek books to see how it fits into the bigger picture!

Baby, It’s Cold Outside by Susan May Warren

What a wonderful Christian Christmas story!
Two romances in one, although technically, God's love story with us is the main thread of this book!
Part of the Heirloom Christmas Collection, this one really stands out so far!
Feel the love of God and your perfect mate as you let down your guard and just be the you He created you to be!  You are lovable, you are worthy of love, don't let bitterness or past hurt stop you from receiving love from strangers, friends, or family!  Merry Christmas!

A Cowboy for Christmas by Lacy Williams

Aw!  Such a heartfelt story!  Ricky is a new Christian with a dark past!  Most of us can totally relate to his challenges, in that fact alone!  But now he sets out to redeem his last performance of his old self!  Who doesn't fall in love with this character?!  I loved this story!

1867 Wyoming Territory
This is an excellent story with well-developed characters—both primary and secondary. The setting is warm and inviting. It’s interesting to see how different people in the story cope with tragedy, loss and insecurity. I love how God helps these characters and all of us who seek Him.

What an interesting story of love and caring for loved ones. This story illustrates how at times we must pray and leave the results up to God. Josh, Katie and Sam were put in that position on more than one occasion.

This is the best Christmas story that I’ve read in quite a while. I love the historic setting—subsequent to WWII. The characters are so well-developed that they seem like people I either know or am acquainted with. Baby, It’s Cold Outside, is a very touching story.

A collection of Christmas stories:
A Mountain Christmas Romance by Misty Beller: Misty Beller's mountain romances are always great! This one began with Matthias Bjork attempting to jump his horse across a mountain creek. Everything would have been fine except for a scream from an unseen female which distracted the horse and rider! Opal and Matthias have both been deserted by most of their biological family and Matthias is on a search to find his sister who he has not seen since he was young. I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Matthias, Opal and the Shumeisters who own the boarding home where Opal works.
Bundle of Joy by Robin Lee Hatcher: "Oh, what a tangled we weave, when first we practice to deceive!" certainly holds true when Alicia Harris asks her former teenage crush to pretend to be her husband! Alicia is pregnant but doesn't want her grandfather to know she and her husband who he has never met got a divorce after three weeks of marriage. Things just get more complicated when Joe agrees to be her pretend husband!
Christmas Bride by Linda Ford: Life is rough in the Montana Territory in 1884 when Joshua Kinsley rescues Katie Weber from evil men who have captured her. God works many miracles as they escape through the mountains with very little food or proper clothing for the cold temperatures.
A Sugar Plum Christmas by Kari Trumbo: A former prostitute and a saloon owner find acceptance and make changes in their lives. My favorite quote "Everyone judges in one way or another. You will never escape that. But you can determine how you will respond to it. No one can make you feel things. They can talk all they want, but your feelings are yours. the minute we stop letting others decide how we should or shouldn't feel is the moment we are free."
Baby, It's Cold Outside by Susan May Warren: Dottie Morgan is not the usual woman of the World War II era. Her dad taught her to work on vehicles and she served in the Motor Pool during the war. During a blizzard she is trapped in a farmhouse with someone who claims to have known her former male friend, the bitter town librarian and a lonely older man. They are all keeping secrets.
A Cowboy for Christmas by Lacy Williams: Daisy who is a rancher's daughter lost her arm in an accident and has isolated herself since then. Cowboy Ricky White feels guilty for the accident and tries to encourage Daisy in learning to do things with one arm.
This collection of stories were heartwarming. I recommend An Heirloom Christmas to others.

Guilt says he can’t, shouldn’t feel anything for her. Despite her wishes the cowboy gets through her defenses and she starts to care for him.

Interesting

Every story in this collection was a good read. The stories were all very diverse, not your 'run of the mill' stories. Some took a bit more reading to "get into" than others, but all in all they were interesting and had a good ending. Unlike some boxed sets, this collection didn't have any stories that were boring or inconsequential. Well done.

Just the story to help redeem my hope for humanity. Characters are fleshed out and the reader is given glimpses into their inner thoughts. Interesting times where the country is rustic but “modern times” are near.

This is an anthology with quite a few full length books, over 1,000 Kindle pages total. I really enjoyed all of the stories. They are clean sweet romances and are Christian. They are all set around Christmas but Christmas isn't really a major theme in most of the stories.

This a great group of stories of couples and coming together during the Christmas season. They all have good moral characters even though some are just starting on a new path. Some were previously drunks, others prostitutes and bar owners finding new lives.

So many stories it's hard to evaluate. One story seemed like too many small stories that I couldn't see how they would knit together. I got bored but continued reading. Then I started to cry. It was heart wrenching and I nearly gave up on it.
