He’s known as Doctor Sexy. Great. Just what I need. As a single mom, I’m concerned about my little girl and rebuilding my life. My ex is a piece of work, and I ain’t talking about art. I’ve sworn off men for forever, even while facing the wedding fever that’s spilling over from my best friend’s wedding. But there’s something about the doc. He’s way more than he appears to be. And he cares about his patients and his staff. *Eye roll* Nope. Seriously. He’s a billionaire from some invention, but he’s not interested in sipping drinks on a beach. He’s fully dedicated to saving lives and helping people. At least that’s the story on the street. I’m just working hard not to fall for his good looks or wicked smile. Surprisingly, the sparks between us could light up a New Year’s skyline. Against my better judgment, I find myself loving his attention. My ex, however, does not. When blows come to blows, my hot doc isn’t backing down. He’s got one message for my past mistake—she’s mine now. Yes. Yes, I am. Every good girl deserves a bad boy. ~ Weston

This was a recommendation from a Facebook group when I asked for a romance where the nice guy gets the girl.

The hero is a nice guy...but someone isn't.

I wanted to like it

I absolutely hate giving bad reviews but this book was a struggle to finish. It felt repetitive in a lot of places and the dialogue was structured in a really weird way made it hard to follow a conversation at times. I think my biggest issue was we never actually learn what her ex did during their relationship that would explain all this “baggage” she kept talking about. Also at time the heroine seemed incredibly immature to the point she became unlikeable. The part where she threatens to post nude photos of her ex online in retaliation to a custody suit was ridiculous and the way she treated the hero in the beginning of the book made zero sense. And let’s not forget her getting pissed because he wouldn’t MURDER SOMEONE FOR HER. I mean come on. The book got worse the further I read.

Another great story from Weston Parker. Workplace romance between Chris (doctor) and April (receptionist) who meet after her daughter has an accident. Their story pulled me in from page one as does each of his stories. Chris had to work to convince April to let him in thanks to her past hurts. Loved watching them get together. It was a roller coaster ride of twists and turns and I was happy to have a ticket. It had twists and turns that lead to a HEA that will have leave you smiling when you are finished. You won’t be disappointed after picking up this book. Highly recommend.

This is my first book by the author and while I enjoyed it, it wasn’t my favorite. Chris and April work in the same hospital but they’ve never met until April’s daughter is rushed to the hospital and Chris has to check on her. Then he helps her with her recovery and in those moments he and April became close. I really enjoyed their interactions and the amazing relationship Chris had with Adi, April’s daughter. He always included her on their dates to prove to April he was all in. Besides April’s ex was a douche so she needed someone to be there for her and reassuring her that everything was going to be okay.

It was an enjoyable book but I still wanted more drama and angst that’s why I felt something was missing. I also hoped Hunter and Katie would meet because I think they would be perfect for each other so I hope they can have a story in the future and see more of April and Chris.

Meh

This story was not as good as the story featuring Luna & Cyrus. The storyline in this book did not draw me in. I skimmed a lot, especially at the end it dragged on.

I had issues with the timeline.

April is divorced for 10 years yet Adi is 9 years old. April supported her ex, Craig, while he went thru school. After Craig graduated and got a job he would support April to complete her schooling. Instead after Craig graduates, he stuck around for a short time before deciding he wanted to travel, leaving her behind to be a single parent.

The storyline used a child custody battle as a means to add suspense, but I couldn’t buy into it.

I can’t imagined any judge that would grant full custody to a parent who in 9 years had no contact with their child, never paid child support, has an unstable work history, is currently unemployed, lives in their mother’s home, and may have recently endangered their daughter’s physical health. Not including this person may have been imprisoned in the past.

Compared to the parent that has raise their child as a single parent without asking for anything. The child is well loved, provided, and cared for with this parent.

There are many grammatical errors throughout, missing words, wrong words (autocorrect added words), pronoun mix ups, etc. Didn’t necessarily take away from the reading, but some will disrupt flow and you may have to reread text to remind yourself who is speaking.

Yup she’s his

This is a sweet anticlimactic romance. Boy meets girl, girl likes boy, boy likes girl, they live happily ever after. There wasn’t a ton of humor or action or anything to really keep it moving. I liked all the characters and the sex scenes were fine, but that was it. It’s missing the “it” factor. I think i felt that way after the Luna and Cyrus book and I said I wouldn’t look for another book in the series and I kept my word. I wasn’t looking for this book, I just stumbled upon it and realized what it was a few chapters in.

If anticlimactic romances are your thing, then I suggest this book. There’s hardly any grammar errors and everything gets wrapped up in a pretty little bow with no loose ends. If you like a little something more from a book, then skip this one. Happy reading y’all!!

Author, please do your research.

I have to say I've never read a book with do many "facts" so dead wrong. Mr. Parker, do some research BEFORE you write! The most glaring mistake is that Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is NOT hereditary. There should be no reason to not have children based on the fact that your father had MS.

Secondly, doctors of physical therapy do NOT work in the ER, do NOT do surgery, and would NOT place paddles on a dying patient, but would rather just call the code so the cardiac team could resuscitate the patient.

The glaring mistakes made me angry and makes me want to steer clear of your work. Weston Parker, you blew it big-time.

Lots of twists and turns!

We heard about Craig, April's irresponsible husband, in books # 1 & 2. She paid his way through school, and then he cheated on her and then dumped her. He never contacted or supported their daughter, Adi. The one time she allowed him to watch her at his mother's house, ( a lie), he takes Adi on his motorcycle without a helmet. Adi ends up in the hospital badly injured.

The guilt April feels is overwhelming, until she meets Chris, (DR. SEXY), Adi's doctor and then the story takes a turn for the better!

April’s relationship with her daughter Ari’s father is the only proof she needs that love and relationships are not worth the pain and she has no intention of ever going down that path again. Her two focuses are her job at the hospital and her daughter until Chris comes into her life.

Chris is the sexy doctor with a huge heart who would do anything for his patients. When Ari becomes his patient he and her mother become close as well and he is not only determined to protect her from her past but to convince her that she and her daughter are his future as well.

Who doesn’t enjoy a great love story that has substance? Another great read by this author and I have to say one of my favorites. April is a single mother who puts her daughter first always and has a crazy ex doesn’t. Chris is a doctor at the hospital that they both work at. They never really had any interaction with each other within their jobs until the day her daughter was brought in after a motorcycle accident with her “dad”. From there, both their lives change and there’s no going back. Fantastic read.

This is a well written book with a cast of strong, well developed characters and an emotional and entertaining story line. The author once again does a fantastic job developing the story and pulled me in with all the happenings and humor as well as the newfound love. He brings a realistic story and paints his scenes in vivid detail. I loved the story line and watching the two come together. The story moves fluidly and is an enjoyable read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Weston Parker has given his readers a well written romance story featuring a hot doctor who is dedicated to helping his patients and one single mom who puts her daughter first. There's sizzling chemistry, a crazy ex who is irresponsible and puts his daughter in harms way, and so much more in this great read.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

This book was ok until the introduction of the custody battle. Craig has never paid any child support for Adi. He's spent almost no time with her. He put her on the back of a motorcycle without a helmet and caused her injury. He didn't visit her in the hospital, contribute to her medical bills or even call to see how she was. There isn't a court in the WORLD that would award him custody. 🙄

You'll love April and Dr.Chris Matthews story. He might just be my new 'book boyfriend'. He's kind, thoughtful, gorgeous, rich, an incredible Doctor and plain all around perfect. All the nurses call him Dr Sexy. Fate brings him and April together when her daughter Adi is brought to the ER after a motorcycle accident and Dr. Sexy is her attending physician. He recognizes Adi as being the receptionist April's daughter from the picture on the front desk. He has his assistant Hunter call her. All hell breaks loose when she arrives. She's frantic, scared, furious and throwing four letter words around like there's no tomorrow. Dr Chris gets the brunt of her attitude but he knows she's just upset that her evil ex allowed her daughter to ride on the back of the cycle and gets hurt. He finds himself attracted to April and is protective of her daughter. No shortage of drama or angst with the ex Craig even to the point where one time Dr Chris has to struggle with his conscience as to save his life or let him die on the operating room table. Good wins as April struggles with her desires and all the anguish Craig has caused them through the years. A new beginning, A new business adventure and a new job and a happy ending. The book was an easy read that I read in one sitting as I wanted to find out the ending. Adi was absolutely adorable and was the first to win Dr Sexy's heart. Cute characters and an entertaining story.

Dr. Chris, (A physical therapist ) and his best friend and assistant, Hunter, are having a not-so-busy morning. When a nurse rushes, in saying, He is needed, in E R. Of course, he and Hunter take off, in a flash. Moreso, when they hear it, is a nine-year-old little girl, who fell off a motorcycle without, a helmet.

When they get there and start, treating the child, Dr. Chris figures out that the child their working on belongs to, April, their receptionist. That's when Adi tells them, she's not working. She's with her daddy, today. Dr. Chris must ask, important questions about the accident to Craig, but when he reaches him the doctor's err is up.

Why? Because instead of looking worried he looks bored. Then when he speaks to him he’s impatient for them taking too long with her care. He then tells the doctor if can he just patch her up so he can take her home. Calling April is a better way to handle it, the doctor thought, because if he goes to jail he can’t treat Adi. Because months of physical therapy are in her future.

Let the romance of a bitter skeptic begin. It grows gradually mainly first out of anger, frustration, and a lack of trust. It is good not as good as the first one but good. I mainly think because in that one Cyrus played such a good tool and nice guy. In this one, you have a good one who becomes great when he does sell out his moral compass.

When I discovered this was a male romance author, I was ecstatic. I’ve read a handful of male romance authors and their stories always feel just a bit more masculine and I love it!

This is the story of Chris, April, and April’s daughter, Adi. When April’s moronic ex allows their daughter to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, it lands Adi in the hospital where Chris, a doctor, recognizes her as the receptionist, April’s, daughter. April is a scorned woman and Chris is drawn to the fiery redhead and her sweet daughter.

I adored how Chris includes Adi in so many dates. Adi was as much of a main character as them and that’s so nice to read about! The angst is pretty low, the story flowed smoothly, and I really enjoyed every small moment. The writing was SO sensual, but the steamy scenes were more overview than detailed.

Loved all the side characters. I’m eager to read Luna and Cyrus’s story. And I hope Hunter gets his story because he cracked me up!

April a single mom works at the hospital. Chris Dr Sexy as the hospital employees call him. Is called to the emergency room with a 9yr old on a motorcycle accident. He realizes it’s Aprils daughter has Hunter call her as he rushes to care for Adi.
Her Dad is an Ass, to talked her into getting on the bike and showed little interest in how Adi was. April rushed to the hospital and is hell on wheels. Pissed that she was on a bike and mad she had let him take Adi for a few hrs. She knew she shouldn’t.
Chris is there and is great with Adi, but April is so pissed she takes it out on him. He is intrigued, her red hair stands for something. He gets Adi stabilized and things calm down then they start to show interest in each other. Chris is now working with Adi in PT getting her hand to work right. He asks her out, they end up all 3 of them she is a package deal he loves it. Buys pizza and takes them to a private garden for a picnic. He is a billionaire. They go out again and they go to Statue of Liberty., and dinner. They are definitely interested! Him and Hunter go in to private practice and the renovate a building and have April come work for them. As soon as the ex is out of the way. They move in with Chris and they get married

I saw this in an ad on Facebook and it was advertised as a “single mom bbw romance” and I’m preeeetty sure April was not a curvy girl at all. Either way, I still enjoyed reading this.

Chris was a genuinely nice guy and April was okay. I felt their connection toward the middle and end of the book but the beginning felt a little off to me. I kept wondering why Chris, someone with an unofficial name of “Doctor Sexy,” was so into April that it seemed he wanted a serious relationship right off the bat? I get some of these romance book characters have an instant connection but it didn’t quite reach that point for me at first if that makes any sense.

I was a little like “wtf?” when April basically asked Chris to let her ex die and she had the nerve to be pissed because he didn’t NOT save his life. I get she realized that she was wrong eventually, but she literally walked away from him and didn’t talk to him for a day or 2 because of that. Crazy shit right there... that would probably be a deal breaker for me if I was a doctor, honestly. But lol ok, this was a fiction romance soooo I’m gonna overlook it.

Multiple POVs: check
HEA: check

3.5⭐️ for me.

Doing it right

This is a story of second chances and love. As fiery and risk-taking April is, that much cool, steadfast, calm, and strong Chris is. April is all about going out there and doing it right away. But she loves fiercely, and is loyal, and loving. She's burnt before and is wary of men and relationships. But Chris is the perfect antidote to her fears. Once he decides to go for something, he is wholeheartedly into it, not afraid of anything.

When it comes to doing the right thing, Chris shows tremendous responsibility and level-headed decision making. He knows that his decision would affect his relationship with April. Yet he does the right thing. And interestingly Chris takes that decision keeping Adi in mind, not April.

April is initially very, very angry about his decision. But she too realises that what he did was the right decision, especially from Adi's point of view.

I realised that love blossoms when least expected, but thrives when you go beyond expectations.

I loved the way Chris and April sort out their differences...calmly, logically, and without mutual blaming.

A heartwarming and beautiful story.

Really, really slow - read on KU

Weston Parker is a very iit or miss author for me. I did love the first book in this series and decided to give the next a shot. I'm not happy I did. I had to skim through a lot and skip pages here and there to finish. The beginning was kind of interesting but then it became humdrum. Nothing really happened.

The book is fairly well edited but there were several instances of object and subject pronouns being used incorrectly, which is a big pet peeve for me. And it's something really easy to get correct. I get having ine every now and then as a typo but that wasn't the case here.

I liked Chris, AKA Dr. Sexy, as a character better than April. He was more interesting. She was just another single mom with not a lot going for her. She didn't have hobbies or interests that made her more. That isn't to say single moms aren't awesome for what they accomplish. Being a mom just seemed to be the only thing that defined her, aside from being well liked by hospital staff. And being a mom is rewarding but it isn't interesting to read about.

I guess it will be a while before I try another of his books.

April's turn!!!!

It's April's turn!! If you read Say You Do, April is Luna's best friend. The one who swears she never wants another relationship. Her ex-husband left a very bad taste in her mouth. She's Mine Now - is April's love story. Who would expect the doctor every referred to as Doctor Sexy would knock April off her feet.

Luna and Cyrus make a few appearances, so does the horrible ex-husband. His brief appearances shows clearly why April would not want to get involved ever again.

I enjoyed the dialogue between Chris - Dr. Sexy and April, in the initial stages. April always felt the need to be sarcastic. Chris' best friend Hunter was a welcomed newcomer to the story. He is an interesting character, I hope his story is told.

As usual with a Weston Parker novel, you get romance, interesting characters, a well-written story that has a twist and a happy ending.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Wonderful characters

This second series.book was much better than the first.

Nothing against Cyrus from book 1, but I still find Luna irritating. April is a much more down to earth, real person who is a realist with zero tolerance for Bull $#**. Chris is perfect for April and Adi, whose accident falling off her dad's motorcycle without a helmet paved the way for Chris to fully notice April and indulge his intense interest in both her and her daughter.

I liked April's snark, Hunter's casual, Teddy-Bear demeanor, and Adi's bouncey, resilient spirit, in large part due to April's support system (Luna and April's older sister Karen) as well as April's own fierce determination and love for her daughter. Great plot and twists, calling upon Chris' rock solid inner strength, ethics, and sense of self worth as well as April's own ability to love hugely. I am amazed a male writer could nail down a female personality like April (which is probably why I didn't care for Luna). Four and a half stars.

What one fool gives up another man treasures

Not only is Chris a physical therapist in the local hospital, he’s on call for the ER when they get swamped, which happens a lot. He gets called in to the ER one night and recognizes the little girl to be the daughter of the hospital’s receptionist. But why was the child on a motorcycle, with no helmet? Then he meets the girl’s father and it all comes together. Now to get her mother in and give her the bad news.

April has never had good luck with men, especially her ex, the father of her daughter. When she gets the call that her daughter has been in an accident, she’s livid at her ex. But her main concern is her daughter and whether she’ll be alright. Fortunately Chris, aka Dr. Sexy, was called in and assures her she’ll be fine. Now to get her daughter through surgery and on the road to recovery. And Dr. Sexy promises to help them through everything.

Not one of my favorite by Weston

Due to her horrible es-husband, April decided she would never fall in love again. He did give her a beautiful daughter, Adi, and that is the only thing she can thank him for.

After a few years, he now decides he wants to get to know her. April isn’t happy with this, but Adi needs to get to know her father. Until Adi ends up in the emergency room with an arm injury. The doctor treating her is a physical therapist at the hospital she works in. April can’t afford the PT, so Chris decides not to charge her. Ever since he invented a machine that is now used at all hospitals, he’s actually a billionaire, but loves the work he does.

Chris knows that he will have to work extra hard, to convince April to go out with him. He feels she’s worth it, and so is her daughter, Adi.

There are some twists and turns with her ex that could ruin April’s life, and thru it all Chris is by her side.

This was an ok read for me.

Includes both old and new favorite characters

April, a receptionist at an understaffed NYC hospital, receives a phone call when Chris, a multiple discipline doctor, recognizes her daughter as an accident victim. As the story progresses anger is directed toward the wrong person, scaling walls becomes his favorite past-time, and dealing with prickly attitudes and unsure futures main not allow for a happy ending. Weston Parker’s She’s Mine Now is a great look at a single mom, billionaire bad boy romance read that includes both old and new favorite characters.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
