Dr. Nancy Stella writes of the six triggers that make it hard on a person's life. these are triggers that can start in childhood that take people into their adult years that keep stuck when faced with situations in their present lives. She gives her own example of when her husband left her for another woman and compares her reactions to her childhood. She mentions six triggers that can get a person stuck if they do not find the tools to move on. In each chapter she has fifteen minute sessions for the reader to practice with breathing exercises and tools to learn to calm your self. I pretty helpful book. I thought the exercises can be helpful as well.

Through her method, you describe your personal narrative and reveal the context behind the fear itself. The steps form a coherent process:

1. Transforming the fear into a personal story,

2. Identifying the triggers behind it,

3. Recognizing the self-sabotaging patterns that reinforce it,

4. Consciously visualizing the worst-case scenario to reduce its power,

5. Using meditation to regulate emotional and bodily reactions,

6. Ultimately breaking free from the fear trap.

In the book, Nancy examines different types of fear through this BCS/CBP-based technique, exploring each section in detail. Theory, case studies, and practical exercises work together in a structured way. Once you understand the logic of the technique, your ability to interpret the fears described in the book and to overcome them becomes significantly stronger. Through her own experiences and client examples, the author demonstrates that fear can be faced and resolved despite life’s challenges; with the right method and mindset, everything can move forward more clearly and more easily.

In short: this book serves as both a guide and a practical toolkit for anyone who wants to recognize their fears and systematically work through them.

Dr. Stella's book about fear and how to overcome it was excellent and eye-opening. I've always thought it would take years of therapy and maybe even medication to be free from fears that kept me from living my life to the fullest. This book has a fairly simple process laid out to help people like me to get past their fears. I'm so glad I read it. I'm recommending it to everyone who even mentions to me that they fear this or fear that. I want to thank Dr. Stella for writing this amazing book.
