Elemental Fae Academy #4

Elemental Fae Queen: The Next Reign

Rate this book
All I want for Christmas is to feel my legs.
Because my mates broke me.

After years of adoration and love—and lots of intimacy—my guys have a special holiday request.

A little fae baby.

Like a fool, I agree, but there’s no way I can choose who gets to be the father. So, my guys have come up with a solution. A series of trials will determine who’ll do the deed; namely, one in the bedroom that has me questioning if my lady parts are really up for this. Right now? Yeah, I can’t feel my legs.

Except one look at my mates has me caving. The idea of them as dads melts me into a puddle of Claire-goo.

Even if their timing can’t be worse. My dream of opening an Interrealm Fae Academy is just within reach. Then my pregnancy arrives with one hell of a twist.

I’m going to have to count on my guys more than ever to get me through this mess.

Wish my mates luck. They’re going to need it. Because a pregnant fae with control over all five elements is a challenge unlike any they’ve ever faced before.

Something tells me this is going to be one unforgettable holiday.

Authors' Note: Elemental Fae Queen is a standalone why-choose novel with a happily-ever-after ending. It features characters from the Elemental Fae Academy world but can be read without previous knowledge from the trilogy. This book was previously titled Elemental Fae Holiday.

My Review

This was the perfect holiday treat and it was so great to catch back up with Claire and all her fae mates.
This full-length novel concentrates on the connections, the emotions and the heat, in fact, this was absolutely scorching when it came to the heat like thermostat cranked up.

Here Exos, Cyrus, Vox, Sol and Titus decide they want to take their mate circle to the next level adding something special to the mix if only Claire will agree.
So let the mate games commence and the winner of them gets to be the first bio daddy to there shared baby.

This was again written from multiple POV’s, it was so enjoyable and also erotically intense and packed chock full of emotional warmth and family bonding.
It was fabulous to witness how this unconventional family has further solidified since we were last with them.
A really great addition and unexpected treat to one of my favourite series.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Elemental Fae Holiday.

A fun and sexy catch-up with Claire and her 5 mates.

Elemental Fae Holiday
is NOT a stand alone read. That said you might be ok with reading it if you've read something from this world, so that you have an understanding of it. In order to get the maximum enjoyment from it I would recommend reading the Elemental Fae Academy: The Complete Trilogy trilogy first.

Overall I really enjoyed this story, though there were some parts I would have liked more of and some parts less of. Personally I didn't enjoy the entire first chapter being a sex scene, my preference would have been to get into the story and re-familiarise myself with the characters first. I ended up skipping most of the chapter because I wasn't yet connected to Claire and her mates. Less emphasis on sex and more on the Interrealm Fae Academy would have easily made this a 5 star read for me. I felt like there was a real missed opportunity of having some fun scenes of Cyrus and Exos negotiating with Lucifer himself!

The story flowed really smoothly and this is a very easy but enjoyable read. It was fun to see familiar faces pop up every now and then and I loved seeing how Vox, Sol, Titus, Cyrus, Exos and Claire had grown together into their mate circle. A definite must read for all those who read the original trilogy.

AHHH!
I’d been dying to read this book ever since the authors teased the cover around Thanksgiving of 2019. Finally, I’ve been able to get my hands on it, and despite the long wait and very high expectations, it did not disappoint.

Both authors are completely brilliant creatively, and as writers. The story is well-imagined and the characters—there are MANY—all manage to be true to what we’ve seen thus far. This book manages to tie in with the "Fortune Fae Academy" and "Midnight Fae Academy" worlds (Covers & links below—READ THEM if you haven’t, you’ll not be sorry.)

This book also manages to leave me dying for J.R. Thorn’s Candela, which is coming next year. We get a better glimpse at Lance, who I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of.

A truly festive read that I might just need to read every year. Manages to pack in beautiful moments, very steamy scenes, humor, adventure and more. You do not need to read the Elemental Fae Academy trilogy, but I strongly recommend doing so and getting to know the characters better before taking on this one; it’ll make those little funny moments even more hilarious.

Editing is on-point, no distractions noting and the book design—WOW! Seriously, this might be the prettiest book I’ve ever seen.

5 very-excited stars.

It was fun catching up with Claire and her guys! Smoking hot and full of tears of joy. I loved it and hope for more faelings in the future. At least four more. Ha! Also, I'm extremely jealous. I want a mate circle, especially like this one, you know you can never find ONE man to live up. The love and utter devotion was spectacular and heart-warming.

This book was cute and a nice addition and culmination to their story.

We see Claire stepping into her role as a leader and advocate for haflings, with her aim to establish an interealm academy. She shines with this passion and her men support her fully.

We also see their relationship take the next step…a baby. The men have devised a series of trials to decide the father and they are hot and funny all at the same time.

Pregnancy comes with its own differences that no one but Claire seems really worried about. I dislikes how they easily dismissed her worries and her human half until almost the end of her pregnancy. She just kinda lets it happen as well and then it’s all forgiven. I get they’re mates and this is a story but that was really unhealthy and something I had issues with.

The rest of the novella I enjoyed, including their antics, laughs and sexy times

Mostly smut which made it eh but the story was decent. I think overall it was a nice way to finish off the series especially being Christmas themed but I do wish there was more babies because to see Sol with a little girl 🥹 man that would have made it the perfect ending!

I loved this so hard!!! I have been waiting to read more about Claire and her mates ever since the ending of the series. This holiday book was so cute. Claire's mates have decided they want a baby and in order to make it easier on her and not have to choose who fathers' the baby first, the mates decide trials are the only way to go.... Spoiler alert, Cyrus wins, but there are some interesting side effects of this pregnancy. Between dealing with all the pregnancy hormones, fae council and losing her powers, Claire has her hand full! I love this series and hope we see them again.

Read like an extended epilogue

This book takes place 5 years after the events of the Elemental Fae Academy series and cannot be read as a standalone. It was a pretty quick read, mostly because I skimmed a lot of it. Look, I love a good smutty book as well as the next girl, but this was a lot. With the exception of a page or two here and there, the first 25% of the book was just one sex scene after another. It actually got to be a bit boring to be honest. And it seemed like sex was all these people talked about with each other.

Claire and three of her five mates; Cyrus, Exos and Titus featured prominently in this book, while her other two mates; Vox and Sol were relegated to supporting roles. I was so happy to see a few characters from the other series; Aflora, Zephyrus and Shade from Midnight Fae Academy. . . And Gina and Zeke from Fortune Fae Academy. Their cameos were much too short for my liking.

This book, to me, read like an extended epilogue of the broader Elemental Fae Academy series but I wasn’t mad at it. Although I did wonder why her mates waited 5 years to discuss having a faeling with her. If nothing else, I would have thought that Exos and Cyrus would have hit that hard, each of them needing an heir to pass their kingdom to.

In any event, it was a nice way to catch up with these characters, and I would recommend this book to anyone who has already read the EFA series.

I absolutely love that we get more of our little fiesty half breed!! Clare & her sexy mates are absolutely adorable!! I love how the guys are trying to please her by doing some of her holiday traditions from earth, even if they don't agree with them!! If you haven't read the first 3 novels, you will want to so that you kno whats going on!! I absolutely love Clare trying to open up a school for "abominations" considering that those who felt like abominations were treated poorly & they deserved to be taught just like everyone else!! Definitely a beautiful holiday story with sexy scenes!!!

Loved it so much!

Elemental Fae Holiday takes place five years after the Elemental Fae series. Claire and her mates have grown and their bond is even stronger than before.

I loved seeing them again, getting more of their story, seeing their family grow and how much they care for one-another.

The story was filled with very entertaining and quite funny, as I knew it would be. I loved hearing about other fae species, some I know but haven't gotten to their books yet, while others I hope are on their way. I always want more of the story so I am looking forward to the other stories and I hope to get a hint of how Claire and her mating-circle are in the future cause I am still. It ready to say goodbye .

Elemental Fae Holiday is filled with love and magic, perfect for the holidays.

Cute bonus story.

This was such a cute extra novella to follow up the Elemental Fae Academy trilogy. It was nice seeing our favorite characters several years later, enjoying life and figuring out their next steps for their future. Definitely a pallet cleanser and very satisfying.

I loved this book! I love that they wanted to get Claire pregnant, and I love that she agreed to it. I love the trials they come up with to determine who will get her pregnant first, and I love that Cyrus wins. I love how the fae pregnancy works and how shorter it is than nine months. I wish I could have a healthy baby in less than nine months. I didn't like how she lost all her powers. The ending was amazing and I love that they started the trials again for baby #2.

Its safe to say Sol is the gullible one in the group, “you’re not going to lay an egg, Claire.” His eyes grew big. “Right? I mean, do humans normally lay eggs?” I liked this fun little read.

I love a good holiday read and this stand alone elemental fae story is a great one! It’s an exciting read full of emotions, tons of scorching heat and it’s intense as we follow Claire and her mates in their decision to have a baby! It’s great to see the relationships development, the trials to decide the baby daddy and (as another reviewer has put it) the shenanigans that ensue! A fun holiday read!

This was such a great book to read. I loved getting the chance to come back to these characters and see what they are up to. This time its all about getting Claire pregnant and what she goes through to get that way and what she goes through during that time. I hope to get a peak into their lives later on.

Welcome back to the Elemental Fae Academy - the ultimate world of gritty "why choose" and salacious fun.

We return to this epic world to find our half breed and her misfit band of droolworthy fun time loving mates just in time for the holidays. And boy oh boy, are we in for some treasures among the gifts that are the pages of this incredibly steamy cannot-put-down masterpiece.

One of the things I love about this series, and all the works of JR Thorn and Lexi C Foss is that they seamlessly transition between authors in such a way that you cannot tell where one has ended and the other has begun. They have mastered the art of writing together, and there's no disjoint in tone and narrative. Everyone stays in character, and it absolutely shows.

Not to mention, they handle a really intricate topic in this book that other Why Choose romances can fail at: Pregnancy. And oh boy, does this book absolutely take the award for doing it right. Its funny, sometimes sweet, sexy and real in a way that is truly touching. This is because JR and Lexi have built a dynamic between their males that makes this a natural plot point for the series to trek, and it makes for such an amazing addition to the series. One of the biggest cringe points for me in pregnancy why choose plots is the bio-dad element to it, and how it will effect the mates. But this topic is handled so well that I never felt that cringe factor come in.

This is definitely heat filled, and should be enjoyed in private, if you get my drift. This is exceptionally spicy, even for this duo. But that is a-okay for me, because it is the perfect thing to keep me warm on winter nights because, let's face it, when there's a foot of snow outside nothing is better than a whole bed full of partners.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. The views here are entirely my own.

❄️❄️ONE PLEASURABLE JOURNEY❄️❄️
Flying fritters! This extremely talented, uniquely gifted and immensely impressive dynamic duo unleashes this thrilling whirlwind of explosive wonder, grabbing you from the start and holding steady until the end, blasting this baby to staggering heights. Anarchy and mishaps descend in a flurry of thrilling surprises and humourous deals, observing the broken barriers and blurred perimeters solidify as limitations are amplified and enforced, reaching deep for every fiber of strength in a fierce surge of determination, fusing this gem together seamlessly. Attributes and perception in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this tangled web so thoroughly till everything else ceases to exist, blasting this bad boy into the eye of the hurricane, bursting it into a tailspin with astonishing results, secrets confessed, revelations unmasked and promises made, hurling this baby to life brilliantly. The attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity and ardor, exposing boundless emotions and infinite affections, drawing our characters closer, bonding them to one another perfectly. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity and enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. Throw in 100% on point realism, raising the stakes with such graphic scenarios that are so colorfully descriptive and vividly detailed its like you're living it with them instead of on the sidelines. Remarkable job guys, thanks for sharing this amazing thrill with us.

Happy holidays!

This was just plain chaotic wet holiday fun with a little Christmas miracle 👼 to top it all off

It's been a few years now and Claire and her circle are settling in and the men in her life are wanting to add to it - Yep they want the pitter-patter of little fae feet
Once they convince their queen the rest is just a matter of who gets first dibs of playing the baker (I am going to admit my heart did crack slightly on a couple of scenes during the competition).
What our men could not see coming was the side effects of the pregnancy.
Oh and that fae pregnancies are just a little (or a lot depending on who is doing the carrying) a bit different from human ones
Never fear this ends on a happy note but getting there is a trial of patience

Oh, how I've missed the gang
When I heard the was an opportunity to spend the holidays with them 🤶
I was in the first portal I could find
As always we laughed, reminisced, loved even worked on Claire's plan for a more accepting academy so no other abomination would experience what she did. (the guys did a great job of making her dream come true)
And to top off the magic that is Winter Solstice our magic circle was also gifted a Christmas miracle

Another magical addition to the Elemental Fae collection

This is honestly so sweet, I melt. An awesome Fae Holiday with a Fae holiday heir? Nothing else can be better if you ask me

Here Claire is pregnant after the "trials" and all the hormones are out with the mate's protectiveness lol. All the connections, emotions, developments and interactions just makes me laugh, smile :) just such a great journey. I love all the mates: Cyrus, Exos, Vox, Sol, and Titus, but in the end CYRUS has won my heart with Exos as a closest 2nd lol. It is great to see other character's appearance as well, the relationship between Clair and Ophelia, then also Gina and Aflora, which makes me excited for Midnight and Fortune Fae Academy

What could been better though? The approach to prologue and chapter 1... like really the first thing that gotta be mentioned was about them doing it? and like half of the book was about that, which felt a little too much 😬🤦🏻‍♀️ Also, it would be great if there were more other scenes (not 🔥) added to it instead of skipping them like more interactions between Ophelia, Gina and Aflora or a scene of Cyrus and Exos in Hell with the Hell fae and Lucifier or more about the Interrealm Fae Academy and such. I would loved to see that...

🌶️🌶️🌶️.5

A solid wrap up to Claire’s story. I knew, somewhat, what to expect going into this one, but was not necessarily expecting it to be based around the pregnancy.

It’s like I was right alongside Claire and her mates while she was going through a Fae pregnancy. Definitely loved all the support and cherishing love her mates gave her all throughout.

One teensy tiny little thing that continued to get on my nerves through the 4 books? “Palpable”
Feelings being palpable, moods being palpable, certain… comings being palpable. I know writers can have a stronger affinity (also a repetitive word used) for certain words or phrases, but palpable was one of them where I just laughed and rolled my eyes😂😂🙄

Anyways, here’s my final Elemental Fae mates “ranking”:

1. Exos (blonde)
2. Cyrus (blonde)
3. Sol (dark brunette)
4. Titus (auburn)
5. Vox (brunette)

Soooo, yea, I think “Princess” and “little Queen” are great nicknames, and blondes aren’t all too bad.

I really enjoy learning about and seeing all the connections to the other Fae realms, seeing and meeting previous characters from other series. The world building in these books are pretty solid, and I like discovering the worlds and realms.

Overall, I liked it:)

So I think it’s fair to say that this pairing of author’s to me is a genius pairing if there ever were any. They have this quality to them that as soon as you turn the first page, you are sucked straight into their world.

And what a world they can create.

I genuinely thought we had left our beloved Elemental Fae reverse harem behind, all the while hoping that we would someday see them again. And what should happen? What is something that 2020 definitely needed? More reverse harem fun, more elemental Fae and definitely some holiday cheer. Enter Elemental Fae Holiday!

It is so exciting to be back with Claire and her men. There’s even a Fae pregnancy and baby along the way. So if you thought you couldn’t get more from this particular world, then boy were you wrong.

I absolutely loved the fact that these characters hadn’t changed. That we were transported back to the amazing chemistry and attitude that we were given the first time around.

There was still the sexiness, still the same chemistry between characters and still the same love. I thoroughly enjoyed it all!

Hopefully, this won’t be the last we hear from these characters? Well, one can only hope anyway.

Claire and the boys are back! And now we have a cute little faeling to at into the mix which is beyond adorable. After completing trials to see which one gets to do the actual impregnating, hilarity ensues when Claire discovers that there are some very big differences between Fae pregnancy versus Human pregnancy - 9 weeks rather than 9 months...ah yes please!

Plenty of sexy times and lot of love and support feature in this book with a stack of appearances from other characters such as Aflora and some of her mates (yeah I noticed that not all of them are there Lexi!), Gina from the Fortune Fae world and Kalt with his upcoming Winter Fae fun - I am really, really looking forward to his book now after reading this one.

This a a cute story to stop in and see how the mate circle is going and to have a new addition. My only complaint is that I wanted a bit more M/M stuff but thats probably just my slightly pervy nature and not really a complaint about this book!

I received an ARC and because I've finished my Christmas shopping, I have left an honest review

What a naughty little treat, and just in time for Christmas! Elemental Fan Holiday is the perfect quick and enjoyable read that was, for me at least, really needed this time of year, all things considered (I won’t say the dreaded, C word I promise)! Anyway, this book is chock full of sexy, spicy, and delicious scenes between Claire and her men, and the best part is that you don’t even really need to have read any of the previous books from any of the series or the ones connected to their universe!!! WHAT A DAMN CHRISTMAS MIRACLE.

Honestly it was fabulous to just catch up with Claire and the lads and be a part of their world - queue the little mermaid music - and witness their cute moments with dealing with pregnancy along with their sexy as hell moments. It takes place 5 years after the events of book 3 of the Elemental Fae Academy series and it was fabulous to see how they settled into their little family, and how they’ve matured (somewhat) over the years, as well as their love.

Thanks Foss and Thorn for this little prezzie! A truly unexpected, but highly welcomed treat. 100% recommend, let the reading commence!!!

Exos is the best mate

I swear, as much as I love all of Claire’s mates, Exos is the best. He never judges her for her human traditions and even has the care to know what they are. The others, while I believe they love her, don’t seem to care to remember she’s not from the fae realm. I can’t completely let Claire off the hook with the pregnancy though because it’s a big decision and she should have gone in asking questions BEFORE agreeing. Instead, she lets sex distract her from everything and then gets blindsided or angry. It was a big problem i noticed in the trilogy and I’d been a fool to think it wouldn’t continue here.

Also, the authors mention there is MM in the story, and there is, but it’s very very light. One kiss and some light petting in a scene near the end. Personally, I’d have liked more.

But I don’t regret reading this addition to the series, it’s nice they take their relationship to the next level and grow their family!
