Clans unite having left their homeworld only to be attacked by one clan, treachery and demons - 4 stars

The Marlboro clan plus remnants of Danestar and Spirit clans fend off attack by House Bronc. (It helps to have read the previous books). When the attackers are taking a break after having been beaten back, exploration of a discarded colossal space ship finds tons of mutants on attack and many untrustworthy "allies" giving partial truths. A third activity is started: a reconnaissance mission is launched to a distant planet to retrieve a precious artifact.

It is all in a day's work - okay, a few moments more than a day.

We have classic Machiavellian political mischief, demons beyond belief and adventure for the soldiers who want to find a safe home. If mere fighting is not enough, new types of aliens are introduced which have a troubled history with one of the now-friendly aliens.

Ron Marlboro, head of the Marlboro clan, starts to realize that some liberties have been taken to make him and his soldiers stronger, better and more effective. The rumors and accusations of being half-human may have some truth. In this third adventure, fighting is fierce, relationships between friends is deeper and duplicity is frequently on display.

Because there are multiple things happening simultaneously, I found that I had to re-read a few pages to recover after realizing that I missed a change of scenery; occasionally I needed to reset in order to get back on track.

The storyline was the usual "battle the mutants type stuff" and pretty much as expected but the author went deep into a number of different situations with different characters but then didn't close them off in any detail. In one key mission, it just stopped and they were back on the BSA with no detail at all as to what happened. It felt like I had missed an entire chapter!

I had also hoped the third book would be the conclusion of this story but it wasn't, and yet again we are left hanging with yet another book to follow and no doubt that one will be the same. Personally, I am bored with these stories that seem to go on forever. I appreciate it is how the author has to write in order to maximise Amazon revenues buy building up a following but I will now call it a day with Duke Marlboro and his many battles.

Mission by Scott Moon is the third installment of the Blue Sun Armada series. First, realize that Scott doesn’t write these like a stand-alone. I recommend you start at book 1 and make your way thru because he doesn’t re-hash much in the story. This well-written, military SyFi might keep you up late reading. Lots of action and seemingly much accomplished in book three. This rag-tag group, survivors of betrayal on their “home” planet are being dogged by strong forces and our heroes are forced to fight on multiple fronts with little if any rest. Fleeing as fast as they can, we will see if strong family bonds, honor, and respect will be enough to win their freedom. Is more betrayal biding its time in the airlock? Very well could be. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Feels like an endless slog

Finished it because I started it. Problems and lack of answers just keep growing until I'm having difficulty caring. Will start reading the next but no guarantee I will bother to finish it unless it improves greatly.

Very fast read.

If you like action along with unrelenting odds, this is a series of books for you. Try to read them one after the other to maintain your knowledge of the characters.

Awesome Adventure

Awesome is the best word to describe this book in the series. It's fast paced action and adventure left me out of breath. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.

Still solid

I keep thinking the many plot threads will start to unravel, but so far they mostly are holding. Hopefully soon some of them will be resolved, or we get clued in a little.

Enemies everywhere

Are we at the point where one problem solves another? Not quite yet but we are headed there. And now we know what near human means.

Absolutely Awesome

This is a worthy continuation of the previous stories. Full of action, suspense, intrigue and drama throughout the story. I highly recommend this book.
