To protect the family
This is another one of those books you just can’t get enough of! I absolutely loved Alexei! He’s this big fearsome guy with so much on his plate, but he somehow makes an emotional connection with his little fox and needs her to breathe. And, although it can probably be annoying, his little fox is all about her family. Not that her family seems to reciprocate, but she still does her best. A series of unfortunate events brought these two together, and a fat cat tries to tear them apart, but they are stronger together and their HEA was well worth the risk. This story was a wonderful read, and I loved getting to see some of my favorite characters from the previous book. I can’t wait to read the next in the series!

3.75 stars-- ALEXEI is the third instalment in Josephine Jade’s contemporary, adult HIS FOREVER erotic, dark, Mafia romance series. This is Pakhan for the local Russian Mafia Alexei Varnakov, and twenty-nine year old, translator Tara Noland’s story line. ALEXEI can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. ALEXEI advances the series several months.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Tara and Alexei) ALEXEI: HIS TO RAVAGE follows in the wake of Tara Noland witnessing the murder at a local exotic dance club. For the past fifteen months Tara has watched from the sidelines as her younger sister Sonya took the stage at a place called the ‘Flesh’ but on this night Tara witnessed the murder of a badly beaten man, and found herself a prisoner of the person responsible. Enter Pakhan to the Russian Mafia Alexei Varnakov, and the man with whom Tara will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Tara and Alexei, and the potential fall-out as Tara will discover that her life is forfeit in the eyes of the Russian mob.
Tara Noland never expected to witness a murder let alone find herself the prisoner of the Russian mob but from the outset Alexei Varnakov has claimed our heroine as his own to protect, and in doing so, quite possibly saved her from an early death. A visit from the higher powers place our heroine’s life on the proverbial chopping block, and Tara isn’t going to stand by and let it happen. Alexei Varnakov knows his place as the Pakhan but orders from above don’t sit well with our story line hero. In an effort to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love, Alexei makes Tara an offer she cannot refuse.
The relationship between Tara and Alexei begins as prisoner and captor in the wake of a murder at the local club. Tara finds herself falling for the man who could destroy her life but a man who takes what he wants, and he wants our heroine for himself. The $ex scenes erotic and intense, and not without some questionable acts of dubious consent earlier in their relationship.
We are introduced to Tara’s sister Sonya, and the return of Patrick and Lauren Murphy PATRICK :HIS TO ENTICE; Vadim Kasilli, Alexei’s father Ivan Varnakov, and his uncle Vasile.

If you like mafia type reads where the characters are gritty…then this is for you.
Alexei, the head of the mafia in his city who took over when his dad became ill, punishes one of his men and Tara witnesses the brutal act. Now Alexei can’t have her free and he doesn’t want to kill her. He locks her up in one of his rooms at his estate and slowly breaks her down. He’s noticed her before and now that he has her, he doesn’t want to let her go. But when orders come down from Russia to get rid of her…how far will he go to protect her.
A good read with steam, intense scenes, surprises, twists and turns and great characters. I enjoyed these two and the more we got to know Alexei, there was more to him than his exterior persona….more depth. Tara was the goody two shoes but soon learns it’s not all black and white and the two complimented each other. I loved the twist near the end and their HEA but I was missing an epilogue, wanted more to their ending.

Russian mob boss gets the woman of his dreams.
I love these books,They can be slightly uncomfortable at first until their passions ignite.The stories are dark , but to be expected when the men in this series live in the dark ,seedy underbelly of the mafia in the city. shared between three ,Italian,Irish and in this book Russian branches of the mob.
Alexei Varnakov runs many brothels strip joints etc. Flesh is a bit more classy . He has noticed a red haired woman come in regularly to check up on Sonya ,one of his dancers.
Tara Noland is Sonya's big sister. Tara regularly checks up on her if she can't each her after a few days.After all Sonya is an ex heroin addict,and Sonya is her only family .
But after falling out with her sister Tara storms out of the dressing room ,and takes a wrong turn straight into Alexei doing some business.Leaving him with the perfect excuse to take her .To make her his..
