When the truth about her mother’s family is revealed, she knows Boyd is the only man she can trust – with her life and her heart. But first they must uncover the identity of the real traitor in their midst…
I have loved this series! All the non-stop action, the great characters and the political intrigue is just great! I like the guessing of who the "insider bad guy" is too in every book! I won't give it away but it's always someone who is very influential in the political scene. Boyd left the Secret Service over a botched attempt on the First Lady's life and is now working for Security Specialists. Lina just wants to find a relative on her dead mother's side of the family. When she thinks she's found someone, the woman is killed right in front of her, and the action begins! Boyd is sent to protect her, and Lina is pretty much shell-shocked! She has no idea who is trying to kill her or why. There are many moving parts as characters are introduced - we go to China and various parts on the East Coast. The Chinese Mafia is involved. Who wants to kill the US President? How will it happen? There is a lot going on and it's all very exciting! I couldn't put this book down, just like the other books in this series, but you don't have to read the other books to know what is happening. The previous characters do many an appearance in this book, but you can easily figure out who they are! Intriguing story!
Oh boy. Ms Scott has hit another one out of the ball park. This fourth book in the Security Specialists, Inc. series may just be the best yet. Stateside, there's Boyd Sinclair, former Secret Service agent, and now working for Security Specialists, Inc., and his protectee, Lina Parker who's witnessed the murder of the aunt she never knew, and is now targeted herself. In China, there are Jia Ling Ling, CIA asset, and her handler, Sam King. How do they all play into White House intrigue, and assassination plots? Those are the questions that fly in the air, along with the bullets that seem to follow the main characters as the plot unfolds.
Ms Scott has proved to be an expert at crafting spy novels that rival the intensity of Tom Clancy, and the excitement of 007, with just the right touch of romance. This book kept me up reading it, and I'm just now catching my breath. Readers of spy thrillers and solid Christian suspense will be delighted with this book. Enjoy!
Lina Parker was searching for family. Her parents were killed in an accident when she was young. She spent the rest of her young life with her grandparents. She did well but always prayed she would find more about her parents and perhaps other relatives. In the process of a DNA search she found her aunt, her motherś sister. When attempting to find her. Aunt Shu Yan had insited they not discuss any information until meeting. When they met at an odd location by a closed construction area near a park they were both under attack, her aunt killed. Lina was put under protection from a Security Speciatlist organization as she knew too much information about hidden information about a Chinese Mafia. The plot continues with a duo of informants for the US working undercover trying to bring data to the White House. Itś a really good novel however not what I am used to by Laura Scott. I have not read the first 3 in the series and probably should have before I took on part 4. Itś an excellent suspense story that her fans will love.
The president of the United States and the head of China have been targeted for assassination by an unknown traitor of high rank in the federal government. Lina Parker and Boyd Sinclair dodge bullets and hand grenades to get to the bottom of the plot. Meanwhile, in China, Jia and Sam are running from the Chinese mafia while on a similar quest. They all converge at the American White House, where the dastardly plot is revealed along with perps from both the USA & China. Excellent high energy reading. I could not put it down.
This is a fabulous read. It drew me straight in from the start. Lina, curious about her Chinese roots, discovered through a DNA website she had a family connection on her mother's side of the family. Only her meeting with her aunt didn't go as planned. The Chinese mafia is after her and Boyd, and she is being framed. This suspenseful story, filled with twists and turns and family secrets, kept me turning the pages until the end.
I’ve really enjoyed this Target series. I can see each one as a wonderful movie prospect. The plots, characters, the twists and turns, suspense and excitement rival any of the top seller action movies I’ve enjoyed over the years. But Target for Treason is my favorite of this awesome series.
Non-stop action from page one. The writer cleverly weaves the story around international intrigue, lots of danger, all cushioned by family and Christian values. Nice to see how the characters from earlier books in the series are included.
I finished reading Laura Scott's series "Security Specialists, Inc. and it was a great series. This series contained a lot of suspense and these are the type of books I enjoy. Mrs. Scott, you are a blessed, wonderful author. Mary
Lots of twists in this multifaceted book of intrigue, betrayal, secret agents, treason, and international players. Kept me engaged as I tried to remember all the players and positions like an active chess game.
I like the series and I like the characters. I feel like the books could use another round of edits but the small errors don't detract from the story. I like the audiobook narrators, as well.
