Dr. Glider is giving advice to animals from all over the world with ailments or worries, and in the process, teaching readers all about these creatures.

This was a less disturbing collection of animal facts that the first book contained. They mostly are just cool and less gross. Hand this to animal lovers and sponges for cool facts.

This is a really fun, educational, and engaging way to learn about animals, and I appreciate the strange facts and variety of creatures represented. Definitely perfect for kids who love getting into the weeds learning all kinds of stuff about their favorites animals, and picking up some obscure new faves along the way! (Growing up, my little cousin was randomly ALL about okapis, so loved seeing them here!)

In this second book, Dr. Glider again gives advice to all sorts of animals with allergies, grumbling tummies, and cold noses, just to name a few!

The animals and Dr. Glider converse in simple graphic novel style, while off to the side, their are fact boxes to give explanation to the advice given. With fun illustrations and a small dose of humor added in, the many animal facts and vocabulary words are fun to learn.

This book is the second installment of the Dr. Glider series. The book is filled with more animals who need help from Dr. Glider Some of these animals include a sloth that is turning green, a school of clownfish that lost their leader, and a zebra being swarmed by flies. The side margins on each page contain scientific facts related to the specific animal. This book is educational yet fun. I wish the facts in the side margins were more legible.

The info and illustrations were interesting, but some of the fonts were super small and hard to read. Unless someone is interested in this type of information—odd physical characteristics of specific breeds within species—this book is honestly kind of boring. I liked the sloth one though—that entry was particularly funny.

3.5/5 stars. Interesting animal facts collide with a story about animals who need help from a flying sugar glider physician. Some of the facts are not new for animal aficionados like my kids, but the ones they didn’t know yet were fun. Recommend.

In each two-page spread, our gliding squirrel explains to a particular animal why a condition they are experiencing is common to their species. Small fact boxes are at the side. Appealing with these short bursts of information. Glossary on last page.

Jess Keating books are well loved by children. This is a second book in a series but stands alone. Animal lovers will love all the cool facts. Great illustrations by Peter Oswald.

We need to create a new category of nonfiction—facts that are combined with fun fictional characters and elements. My students love these types of books and this one was a real hit.
