Maika’i, Hawaii, might not have snow, but there’s plenty of Christmas Spirit as the whole town makes ornaments for the big contest at the Christmas Eve party. Saffron has concocted a delicious Egg Nog to share, Christmas Malasada flavors are back, and everyone is decking the halls.

But a sneaky Santa is on the loose at the Christmas party, giving gifts to the town’s residents that reveal old secrets and past crimes.

When Santa falls from the roof, it’s up to Saffron to determine whether it was an accident or a ho-ho-ho-homicide.

What a wonderful lot of fun as The Christmas Spirit spreads around MaiKa’i a small town in beautiful Hawaii. I wish it was a real town so I could move there … although there are an awful lot of murders! And where there is any mystery, especially murder, Saffron Skye, the town egg supplier and event planner, is eager to help solve it. Always a good mystery, and a beautiful island town of lovely people.

My favourite so far ~

I’ve read all of the Aloha chickens series, and this is the most fun yet. Decent mystery, but Avari also excels in creating real people in her characters. A rare and lovely skill .

Very entertaining story

I love Hawaii and there are many descriptions of the flowers and the ocean, sandy beaches brilliant starry skies that are well done. The characters are well defined and interesting with a unique business .
