For your next Jurassic-sized adventure, a new world of primeval thrills and pulse-pounding action!
Australia, 2083. The Outback is overrun with cloned prehistoric animals. Brave hunters have been called in to restore order to the ecosystem, and collecting the right bounty can bring in a lot of money. The kind of money Helen Larkwood needs to fund her daughter's cancer surgery.
Her quarry is already enough of a the dangerous carnivore Ceratosaurus. But when a poaching cartel shows up and threatens to steal her prize, Helen is in for the fight of her life…and her daughter’s.
Don't miss the thrilling debut of the Queensland Crater series, where dinosaurs roam again and our past has become our future!
I really enjoyed the world, characters, and plot. Sympathetic characters, tense atmosphere, and vibrant setting. Looking forward to reading more in this series!
Dinosaurs are on the loose in Queensland and people can participate in government-endorsed hunts, but illegal poachers want in on the action as well. This short story follows a woman who needs the money from a certified dinosaur hunt to get her daughter life-saving medical treatment, a humanising touch I appreciated.
This was a fun story that whet my appetite for this world. I want to know more, a lot more. The characters and setting felt authentically Australian for the most part.
John hits another one out of the park! But instead of space and aliens, we've got a good old fashion Dino hunt. The story tells a tale of dino hunters as they chase down a large carnivore, but things happen they don't expect. The only negative to this story is it leaves you wanting more! The good news is, I know the author is hard at work on more stories set in the world.
Now, I love this book. Great story and an amazing chance for more ad in this post dino world. Fast paced and insightful. Clean language. I am truly looking forward to more books and definitely recommend.
John K. Patterson knocked it out of the park again with Midnight Chase! If you're looking for a rip-roaring adventure of hunters who become the hunted and a Jurassic world gone crazy, you'll love Midnight Chase.
This is the third Queensland Crater Story I've read, and I've thoroughly enjoyed them all. I also recommend reading his stories "Outback Attack" (which is in the anthology Murderbirds) and "River Trap."
The first of three shorts by John K. Patterson (I ready #2 out of order, lol, and #3 is free online here: https://johnkpatterson.wordpress.com/... ). This was a good intro to the authors new post-disaster world where dino-hunting adventure rules in the outback of Australia. Good plot premise and motivation. I believe John's writing a full length novel and look forward to reading it.
A decent short story about a woman and her team trying to kill a dinosaur with a bounty on its head. There wasn’t enough world building for me, not enough time with so few pages I guess. I would have like to know more about how things came to this point.
A short story, took a little over 30 minutes to read it. But their was a lot of excitement in it. Love dinosaur stories. Will be reading more Queensland Crater tales.
