I think I'd be better able to review this if I had a project going which required using a special foot. As it is, I can only judge the book on a few things, but not necessarily on how useful it is.
The photos are plentiful and look very clear. There are photos showing what the feet look like from different companies, so that we can see variations in a particular type of foot. There are then a sequence of photos showing how the foot is used, and a montage of photos of stitches (or projects) the foot can produce.
It's a book to own, rather than one to check out from the library.

If like me, you love sewing but feel you're not quite getting the best from your sewing machine, then this book is for you.

The perfect 'teach and show' guide that covers zips, and stitching techniques that are a necessary and sometimes daunting part of our sewing know how.

What I absolute love about this book, is that it is an complete and in depth compendium of sewing machine feet. I have a ton of them, in a box, in a drawer!!! I often look at them and wonder what they do.... well now I know. And what's more I am no longer afraid to use them.

Wendy Gardiner and Lorna Knight  demonstrate how to use these feet, what fabrics are perfect and what thread to use. They take away the panic and give the sewist a new found confidence. The words are simple, the demonstrations easy to follow and the information is massive.

From choosing your machine, to threads to tools to fabric to needles.. nothing is left out. This book is superb for beginners, but can also be a ideal reminder for seasoned sewists.

It is faultless.

A great resource for any sewer. It doesn't matter what level you are at this is a great resource for what machine feet will work for your project. I know my machine can't use all the feet in this book but they usually provide alternatives options if you can't use that foot. They also provide a nice introduction to some items that will be essential to smooth sewing. I now have a list of items that I want to buy.

I really appreciate that this book also discusses machines and what you might want to look for when buying. I know I will be referring back to this section in the future because I want to get a more advanced machine.

I recently received a set of presser feet for my sewing machine and this book. I decided to read through the book first to give me an idea of what different feet are used for. It was very eye opening! I had no idea a sewing machine could do so much by just attaching different feet. Obviously higher end machines are easier to use, but this book showed me a lot can be done with the right accessories and imagination.

I checked out this book from the library and found it so helpful that I bought a copy for myself! I have been sewing since childhood but found many interesting facts about sewing machine accessory feet that I did not know. This will be my 'go to' book in the sewing room, it is a great reference book for novice and experienced sewers!

In italiano il mio.

Great pictures! Simple instructios! Easy reference! Reading this book makes me feel like I can do any sewing project without having to sign up for a class because most tasks simply require understanding the tools. I just got a new machine and although I have been sewing simple projects for years, the machine mastery class and the tips in this book are making my projects more fun and exciting!

Re-read.
After checking this box out at the library probably 10 years ago, I was somehow fortunate enough to score purchasing it at a Friends of the Library sale. This book is one of my ultimate Nerd-outs. It is hands down my favorite sewing book. This book makes me feel like my not too fancy Janome is a wizard tool. It is F U N to just get a piece of scrap fabric and try out different presser feet and stitch techniques.

had to turn it back in before i got to look at it thoroughly, though mostly it's a bit advanced for the projects i've been working on. i have no doubt, however, that it is a great resource and i look forward to taking another look at it at some point!

This is great for visual learners. The pictures are actual color photographs, including types of fabric, different threads, and examples for the different stitches and use of machine parts.
