Moving through the thick grasses of the prairie, prodded by a force of nature behind her, an exhausted Mia falls only to be dragged to her feet by the others beside her. Is this a dream or has death finally abandoned her to the Purgatory of the Wanderers. What had she done so horrible to be forced to roam the breadth of North America only to find herself once again with her heels on the Pacific shore?
Sabine Norwood falls in love with a house filled with Tiffany stained glass windows. She wants to raise her daughters there. Unfortunately, the house is haunted. The last medium to try to rest the ghosts ended up one herself. Sabine is counseled to leave the house be and look for another more child-friendly home. Sabine ignores the good advice because she thinks the house can be saved and hires PEEPs.
PEEPs on their A game are unstoppable, but each PEEP has something else on their mind, including Mia, whose near brush with death has her committed to solving a bigger problem.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old boy walks Tiffany House dragging his dead dog behind him.
"Poison," is the 35th novel of the "Haunted Series."
My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read. Once upon a time… I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads. It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.
The only reason I didn’t finish it in one go was that I had to get up at 3am for work! I forced myself to stop at 75%. Lol. Had to get a few hours of sleep!
I loved this one. I laughed out loud. I was surprised. I cried. And it’s BOOK 35, people! Amazing. The character development for Michael, Lerajie, Arthur, Angelo, Patrick, Ted, Orion, Sabine, and her daughters, as well as for certain more minor characters such as Jutta, Raphael, Chatter, Quake, and even Minette, really added to the incredible story line. I particularly appreciated how Mia was positioned in this novel. It seemed to me that she reminded the “boys club” (both the heavenly one and the one in her everyday life) that she has brains & a backbone. She’s always known (sooner or later) when she was being “handled” and in this installment of my favorite story, Mia makes sure that people know that she knows.
I seriously have no idea how the author keeps this amazing story line fresh and leaving fans clamoring for the next book so we can see what happens next.
(Alexie Aaron could give Evanovich some lessons, just saying.)
As always, can’t wait to see what is going to happen next! In the meantime, I’m starting my second read through tonight!
Amazing story! I say this every time I write a review of an Alexie Aaron book, but POISON is my favorite of all of her books so far. I don't want to repeat what I said in past reviews, and I don't want to issue a spoilers alert. Let's say that I am in awe of MS Aaron's ability to create new characters and then bring them into the fold. She is a genius in manufacturing such unusual situations, and I find myself spending a lot of time coming up with possible solutions to all of the "adventures" Mia encounters. This is one of the many reasons I love the books by Alexie Aaron... She allows me to participate in the adventure myself. POISON will fill up your senses and leave you wanting more. Enjoy the adventure, people... You won't be disappointed!!!
What a fantastic book. Again I was pulled into this book like I was there. The story line kept me captivated the entire time and then so disappointed when I turned the page and t Was done the book. Anyone who loves paranormal, romance, suspense, and just loves laughing out loud will absolutely love this book.
I enjoyed reading this series, sometimes I just want to yell at some of the characters. I laugh, cry & get angry along with Mia, especially about Angelo! Sometimes I want to read fast so I can read a happy ending, other times I want to savor like a great wine. Either way I eagerly keep an eye out for the next book in the series!
I could just keep on reading! I love this series and the evolution of it. I had to force myself to put it down to do necessary things. I'm ready to turn the page to the next chapter!
Still an excellent series thoroughly enjoyable on so many levels! Ghost hunting, fantasy, romance a bit of mystery. You can't go wrong with this series!! More please!!!
As always Alexis has produced a captivating read. The only problem with her books is trying to pace yourself to make them last. Absolutely love every book in this series as well as the Cid books. You are my top favorite author 🎈📖📖
Even after all the books in this series, I still couldn't put this down.
Alexie Aaron continues to draw her readers further into this story, it's book #35 and I'm still on edge about what's next for Mia! I can't wait until book #36!
This book was great. I loved the build up and strategy for the battle in hell. The comic moments are great. I'm glad all the Peeps were together for an actual job. Keep the Peeps working.
Again Mia pulls off the impossible in Hell with style. I am concerned, however, about Angel's reentry into her life, especially with his current attitude.
