Who knew that 13 stories leading up to Halloween would have produced this awesome collection of monster stories? Anyone who follows KL Hiers knew that, because she is a master at crafting a story that takes you to a new place.

This is a collection that is not to be missed. If you’ve ever had that “what if” thought and wondered where it would lead, these stories are for you. Based on a series of prompts, Hiers took that seed and turned it into a delightfully smutty romp through the garden. There is a story for everyone here, from demons, to monsters, to ghosts and even some “what is that?!” types.

Do not go into this book looking for epic love stories. These are so much more fun and let you explore like you never have before. Highly recommended.

*I received an ARC of this story and this is my honest review.

A 3.5 stars.

This was weird but I've no idea if it was a good weird or a bad weird. The stories had a semblance of a plot and you generally got the idea of what their future would look like, but it definitely focused more on the smut.

Like a lot of smut.

Over all this was a quick read and a necessary break from all my term papers. But I seriously would've appreciated a bit more plot. :)

This book is craaaaay. While I did enjoy the lighter stories more than the darker ones and had to skip a couple non-con stories, I was still thoroughly entertained by this fun book. DO NOT read if you have any triggers because this has them all, lol. The author does have a trigger warning at the beginning of every new story. Don’t come into this expecting reality. This is a fantasy world with fantasy f*cking and non-human like monsters f*cking humans. Tentacles, scales, vines, gore…. So if you want something entertaining and totally disconnected from reality with some heavy dub-con/non-con themes, this is the book for you. 😆

4,5☆

This book has started as free short stories in the author's fb group and I couldn't been happier that it's now released as a whole book! 13 unique and hot stories, you definitely need this in your life. Every story can be read in 30 mins.

Tentacles, two and three dicks per person, two tongued creatures, werewolf, vine creature, ghosts, shark-man... MONSTERS. Forced sex, dubcon, noncon, CNC... you know, just the normal dark things.

I really, really enjoyed reading these stories but the first few were my favorite. After a while it got a bit too much sex for me LOLOLOL, things I never thought I say, but this book has so many, MANY sex scenes... at least three per story! I don't know how Kat wrote these many and all of them are different, I just can't with these many sex hahahahahahaha.

I loved that every monster was mostly like and loveable and every story ended with their unique HEA. Oh, and the last story, the Cold Hard Cash novella, hahaha. Looooved it.

Based upon 2 sentence prompts, there are a mixture of monsters throughout. If you are a member of the authors fb group, you may have caught them in the run up to Halloween. However I believe (from memory) that a couple are slightly extended.

Not bad...

13 days of various monsters getting it on. I really liked the ghost of the husband one, it was my favorite. The last story was not as good, though I would read a werewolf mafia boss series.

I enjoyed this! The monsters were creative and the short story format really worked. My favorite is definitely the snake shifter / naga story. No, the plant story. Maybe the pet dog shifter? Or the shark man! Or Day 12, with the heavier MC playing with CNC with the tentacle monster.

I love how each of the monsters is described as more horrifying than the last, and the MCs blink for a second, wonder “hey am I actually into this?” and then they are all in after a (typically brief) noncon period. And then most of the stories end on this sweet loving HEA. I say most Bc a few are up for interpretation but the majority are very sweet. The overall vibe is nice - a “hey you might look like a monster but I like you anyways / Bc of that / you’re great just as you are”.

Let’s be clear though. This is 100% PWP. If you go in looking for even a smidge more plot or character development than that, you will be disappointed. Also CW for noncon / dubcon and some very gory scenes.

Would def recommend if this still sounds like your thing.

This is a collection of short stories that all deliver on the theme promised in the title. It’s a mix full of creativity, humor, emotion, and, of course, plenty of heat. There’s something here for everyone, and they’re all good, but my personal favorites are the ones that blend steam, laughs, and feelings– give me a monster with a heart of gold, a sense of humor, and a willingness to be just the right level of scary under the proper circumstances any day. To that end, “Slither” with Fide and Matt is pure gold, with the bonus of a great supporting character in the form of Maggie, blabbermouth snake; “Flowers’” Baby will break your heart and put it back together; and Noname from “Mirror” gets extra extra credit for being both resourceful and weirdly adorable.

The title says it all. Tails, tentacles and plenty of other appendages. 13 short stories ranging from cute to strange, soft to rapey. There were a couple that was a bit on the line for me but other that that I enjoyed it. I preferred the cute ones and the tentacles.

A fascinating premise, being based on popular two sentences horror stories, some of these stories worked better than others. This is an anthology of erotica stories, as is fairly evident by the title, though it is surprising how many end in an HEA. Overall it is less dark than the origin implies and the erotic encounters are often ones of mutual pleasure. Taken as individual stories they were hot and fun to read, quick little diversions to let the mind run into the gutter. As a complete book it was steamy with a small dip of the toe into taboo, largely being the monster and non-con (half the time from miscommunication) kink. Lots of fun when in the right mood!

4.11 Stars (Yes I did the whole math thing to get the overall rating. Let me be)

Overall it was great. I definitely recommend if you want to get into the monster roller coaster, limbo, idk 🤷‍♀️. It’s just fun.

Day 1 Picture:
4.75 Stars
It was cute and sweet and steamy. I enjoyed it.

Day 2 Cold:
3.75 Stars
It was nice but it didn’t kill me.

Day 3 Slither:
4 Stars
It was really cute. I loved Fidi. He stole my heart with his cuteness, Matt also did.

Day 4 Wish:
4 Stars
I don’t know to feel about this one. For one part it was good, on the other hand, it made me sad. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it just made me a lil sad. It was still good though.

Day 5 Wag:
5 Stars
So freaking cute! I have heart eyes right now.

Day 6 Honeymoon:
4 Stars
It was kinda weird, but cute and I laughed a lot. I enjoyed it.

Day 7 Stranger:
5 Stars
It was really fun reading this one. I also really liked Abijah.

Day 8 Flowers:
3.75 Stars
It was a bit weird but I liked it. Baby the "plant monster" was quite peculiar but adorable.

Day 9 Asylum:
2.75 Stars
I don’t know. I didn’t like the whole possessed by a demon thing.

Day 10 Deep:
5 Stars
One word, Sammy. The cutest, sweetest, most amazing shark-man ever. I loved him. I also feel like for this being so short it had more emotion. I feel like Sammy and Ezra actually had a connection. I loved it.

Day 11 Mirror:
1.5 Stars
Not my preferred cuppa tea.

Day 12 Alone:
5 Stars
So cute! The whole concept of this story was so cute and Mal and Borathoth were amazing.

Day 13 Silver:
5 Stars
Very interesting story line. I liked the whole thing of them already being together. It was fun to read.

I am changed forever
So I was never really into Monsters or at least I never read a book with it in there. That changed 13 days leading up to Halloween when K.L Hiers posted in her group these short stories. I was hooked on day one, I couldn’t wait to wake up and read the newest one. They were amazing! Smutty, funny, some even pulled the heart strings for me and even some dark and twisty (my favorite). When she announced she would be writing extensions on some and publishing them I was so excited. The extensions are absolutely amazing! You will NOT be disappointed if you read this.
Monsters, aliens, plants, (my favorite) Mob Boss, demons and soooo much f#cking😏

Hot. Hot. Hot. Seriously, don't read this without a fan and maybe a bucket of ice. These are the extended versions of the free shorts Hiers put out before Halloween. Totally worth it for the extended versions. If you did not see them before, they are short smexy stories great for when you need an escape. The stories vary some, some are sweeter and some are pretty twisted. Slither and Alone have some very tender moments but do not expect any caring or sweetness from any story with a demon.

**ARC Review**

This was a delight...each day brought something unique, surprising, sometimes dark but mostly entertaining. It was a thrill to go through each different scenario because you didn't know what you were gonna get. I like how the author gave us a disclaimer before each day...just to make the reader aware what they were getting into. OH boy...what a ride...Loved it

reviewing the anthology as i go~

day 2: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ unexpectedly cute monster... sort of. a bit comical & hot. not what i'd go for in non-con monsterfucking, but overall, not bad!
day 7: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ this one was very hot. still, i can't help but feel like the author could've been way bolder with it (the demons could've been actually scary, for example).

I'm a monster lover all the way and this collection is perfection! With every monster I wanted and some I didn't even know I wanted (looking at you plant guy) I cannot get enough of these pairings. Some are incredibly steamy, some are surprisingly sweet and a few are downright sinful.

This is definitely going to be a favourite book on my shelf 💜 I hope Hiers will write many more delicious monster stories.

I so freakin loved this book of short tales. I will say you should pay attention to the title, it says a lot. This book is not for conservative readers. But if you are like me and you like your romance with a little spice, add in some monsters and dubious consent all ending in love then you will adore this book as much as me. I will definitely be reading this again and again.

No one other than KL Hiers could write this collection of stories - they are beautifully written with such imagination, creativity and sometimes fright that I couldn’t put them down. There is something here for every taste - mirrors, sharks and monsters, oh my! Take a gander, if you dare! Bwaaahhhaaaa!

So most of these stories were wildly mediocre but the monster in the mirror story really did it for me. No I will not elaborate.

Someone warned me that there was a lot of noncon/dubcon in here but honestly...it was only like half the stories and it was...not bad at all. Like, I expected worse but since these were clearly fantasy and I never got into the "this is *real*" feeling (because the stories are just so ridiculous and silly) it didn't bother me at all.

Were these written spectacularly? No. Lol. They were over the top and cliche and the author uses "mmm" a lot. Like 100x a story, I swear. But they were so entertaining and I alternated between "this is hot" and "omg this is totally insane" and "I cannot stop laughing."

Maybe next time I'm looking for a monster romance i shouldn't pick a collection that has Monster F#cking in the title bc there was way too much non-con in this for my liking. The first and second to last stories were good tho.

Shout out to Rain liking Freya's update on reading this book, which led me to the blurb and here I am now!

The book started on a high, ended on a low I-want-to-be-done-with-this. It reminded me why I generally steer clear of anthologies unless it's for one particular story that I have to read.

I loved how Matsuri Sheppan/The Witch sort of links all the stories but why give a character and not expound on them???? By the end it was annoying.

The term "grinded", used  in almost every story, did my head in. Do I have a degree in literacy? No, but I have a high suspicion based on how much I am cringing and coming to a halt each time I am reading the term, it should actually be ground not grinded.

Then EVERY human was the bottom and EVERY monster was the top? That got old real fast. I would have loved some variety in the pairings and also in the point of view of what was taking place. When it comes down to it, by 3 stories in you get the format of the anthology.

Some of the stories were hot-cute. Most of the stories were heavily into CNC/dubious consent/painful intercourse which I am not a fan of.

So, overall, the book gets 2.5 out of 5.

Day One
Ret (shadow monster in the closet with a snout and knot)+Kevin (who can't cook).

4/5 stars.
So sweet. So hot. And I mini screamt at the first coming out of the closet scene. And loved Ret's unhinged declarations.

Day Two
The Creature (Frankenstein's Monster)+Victor

2.5/5 stars.
Not a fan of painful intercourse/CNC. Liked the comparison to Munster.

It was too much—this overwhelming display of... of what? Affection? Possession? I didn’t know what to make of it, of him. But I couldn’t deny the warmth that spread through my chest at his words, the sense of wonder that filled me at the thought of a room filled with books, just for me.

I think initially when I highlighted this quote, I was to quip he's such a book whore that he doesn't mind the monster.

Day Three
Fidi (Shape shifting snake with hemipenises)+Matt (heavier/fatter character)

3.5/5
This was so sweet, and cute and hot and I find the idea of the snake sex creepy but it was so ☺️.

Day Four
Ghostly entity (not Jeremy)+Ben

-1000/5

This was a fucked story (quite literally). Hurting someone just to hurt someone will never be my thing. Add on the emotional aspect of Ben knew it wasn't him but was so wretchedly grieving it didn't matter as long as he had someone with him and it was beyond fucked.

Day Five
Lonnie(wolf)+Ned(rescuer)

4/5 stars.
Praise kink 1000%. If you're into pet play you'll love this. Hot and cute but I don't like the rescue implication.

And what do we have here, we have the connection between all the stories being written in so well.

Day Six
Zukah (tentacle Martian, pheromones, 3 peens)+ John (astronaut).

3/5 stars.
It wasn't bad but it also wasn't good. This was the most boring story so far.

Day Seven
Nate and the 4 paranormal rapists.
Clearly I am not a fan of CNC/dubious consent.

-∞/5 stars.

If he stayed relaxed, he could tolerate the mean thrusts and breathe through them.

That quote broke me. From Day 4 we've had a decline in consensual, non painful sex and this one was rape. Like why am I still reading this? I hated this story so much.

Day Eight
Baby (plant creature)+Kofi

3/5 stars.
Cute. Sweet. Hot.

Day Nine
Vermithrax (demon-sounds like an antibiotic)+Cam

2/5 stars.
Now I'm getting the trend. Nonconsent with humour.

Day Ten
Sammy(shark)+Ezra

3/5 stars.
I just found it unbelievable that Sammy had never been named. You have a whole intricate family story but no name until you are named at the accidental pool mating??

And would you look at that, our very first instance of a safe word conversation.

Day Eleven
Noname(slenderman-mirror monster?)+Lyon

3.5/5 stars.
This one was actually really cute. However, it now seems that the trend is if there isn't heavy dubious consent, the monster cannot talk normally and is in some way infantilized.

Day Twelve
Borathoth (dragonlike Monster with tentacles)+Mal

5/5 stars.
Such a good, scary, meet cute. You see how clear consent and both parties actually being in on the fucking is so much better? And they were awkwardly sweet it makes you gag? Loved this!

Day Thirteen

Boss Cold/Rod (werewolf)+Jimmy Poe (such stupid names)

2.5/5 stars

Who is Rowena? Why ask for the key and then the key is again in your destroyed pockets?
It did not make sense that the final story is the one that was inconsistent.

So overall, not bad, not the best. If your itch is MM monster romance with a heavy side of dubious consent/CNC, then you'll probably love this.

Don't listen to the negative reviews of this book, it served it's purpose just fine.

Each story was unique with clear warnings before each and for that I'm grateful because even the stories that didn't particularly interest me, I didn't feel the need to skip because I still enjoyed the writing.

I've seen a few reviews saying the writing outside of the smut is bad, and to that, I say, you're reading a book with Monster F#cking in the title and these are short stories. Insta-love/lust is all but guaranteed and I didn't feel like the writing hindered any of them at all.

The stories were silly, ridiculous and smutty and that is exactly what I was looking for in a book with this title and that's all I could ask for.
