Time was the hottest commodity for both Kourtlyn Valentine and Nicholas “Saint” Rivers.Kourtlyn Valentine just needs time. Time to heal. Time to rediscover herself. Time to bounce back from her disaster of a marriage and even more traumatizing divorce. Time to work through everything she’s experienced. The only things that Kourtlyn can manage to squeeze into her 24-hour days are her full-time job, her part-time job, her five year old son and her household duties. The words self-care, relaxation and relationship are not even in her vocabulary. But Saint Rivers, though.
Nicholas “Saint” Rivers wishes he could add more hours to his days. As it is, they’re completely filled with work…travel for work…and more work. Throw in single fatherhood, familial obligations, and trying to maintain his household and it’s easy to see why 24 hours aren’t enough. If he had more time, he could actually pursue the chocolate covered beauty who moved in across the street from his favorite aunt. If he had more time, maybe he could break down the walls around her heart.
Their attraction to one another is palpable. She’s drawn to his good looks, his charm, and his ability to move through life in a way that seems so effortless. He’s drawn to everything about her – the package she’s wrapped up in, her vulnerability and her ability to work through the hand that life has dealt her with finesse and grace.
Can the divorced single parents make time stand still long enough for them to explore the possibilities?
This was so good! This my first time reading this author’s work and let me tell you it was excellent! Saint and Kourtlyn are exactly the couple you read and cheer on! Saint was that caring Alpha, sensitive to his woman’s feelings and needs! Kourtlyn was a little lost and a lot damaged from her ex-husband. She was relatable, which I couldn’t help but be all in! This story was well written and a enjoyable read! Going to check her catalog out for more books!
I loved this story of Kourtlyn 'Kourt' Valentine and Nicholas 'Saint' Rivers.
Kourt was such a damaged soul, no thanks to her horrible ex. He was emotionally and verbally abusive to her and since she'd never had a real relationship, she just took it, seeing it as him just being a jerk instead of a narcissistic a**hole. Dude needed to be stomped and I was hoping that one of her cousins would do it, or towards the end of the book, Saint would've. I get why she wouldn't be combative with her ex-husband August, yet he was a piece of work. He was using their son against her, manipulating her any chance he got. Oh, yet once Saint caught wind of it, it was a wrap.
Even though Kourt had her parents and 2 best friends, Summer and Brittanie, I still love that once Saint said he had her, he meant it. He came in and showed her unconditional Love and Respect, and I Loved every minute of it. I was hoping Kourt would truly seek counseling earlier in the book bc her ex did a number on her mental. She was driving me a bit bonkers with the back and forth, when Saint was so great to her and her son Austyn. She figured it out, but Geez woman 🤦🏾♀️.
Nicholas Saint Rivers was definitely a Saint. He immediately stepped in to help Kourt and genuinely didn't want anything more than her time in return. He saw how she still needed to heal from her divorce and in some ways, he needed to heal from his. His ex-wife Imani, was, in his words A Lot! She was so selfish. Their daughter, Harleigh truly was the only one being hurt by her mother's lack of being in her life consistently. Then, for Imani to try to use their daughter was low. I'm glad Saint had full custody bc who knows where their daughter would be if she'd been with her mom full time. Saint was a dope barber, and I'm glad he helped Kourt with her son's hair. I loved how he, even though he had sisters, was caring and protective even of his female cousins. The closeness of his family was fun to read about. That Aunt Bo was hilarious, yet was dropping jewels of wisdom.
I'm definitely going to have to go back and start at book 1 in this series to see how all these relationships and situation ships started for the other characters.
My 1st book from this author, yet it will not be the last. Great read. Highly recommend
I saw this cover and new I wanted to read this and I am so glad I did. Saint Nick is literally perfection. Everything about him is everything you would want in your partner. Each of the characters were fully developed and not only likable, but lovable. I did not care for August at all, and I actually thought things would get physical before the end of the book. But also, Saint even handled that is a manly way. This is my first read from this author, I think, but I plan on taking up shop in her entire catalog. Chefs kiss!
Definitely a great read! Started a little sleep but that character development. This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. Kourtney kinda annoyed me because of her all of a sudden fear of starting a life with Saint. She asked him how he felt about children and marriage just like he asked her but then became overwhelmed when he gave his answers. I also didn’t understand how she missed him so much when he went on tour to cut hair, was upset with him for not being available, and complained of how lonely she was but then all of a sudden wanted space. Her poor head space was so messed up but I partially blamed the ex husband because he was so rude and disrespectful. Maybe because I’m 40 and have zero patience for allowing a man to treat me the way August treated Kourt but I can’t understand how women all this type of abuse from a man. Overall, great read! I’ll definitely read more!
He is a Saint and then some. I loved this story from beginning to end. I was rooting for Saint and Kourtney throughout the story. I hope there is an update on their journey. This is my first story my this author and because she's an excellent story teller I'm excited to go back and read the other books in this series.
Men like Saint exist. They really do. I married one. Tracy Gray wrote an incredible story. It had everything and I love how she weaves in all the characters from the world she created. Love love love!
Saint lived up to his name, giving Kourt a chance to be loved by a man who didn’t let his past emotionally scar him. I hope he and Ko and their kids appear in an update soon.
So glad I came across this book. This is my first by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more. Saint lived up to his name, he was so patient with Kourtlyn and did not play with her ex, I loved it!!!
Whew….Saint was a real man. He was protective, loving, problem solving and always came through. Saint is what every woman wants to have in her life. Now, Kourt was stressing me out and I also get her position. This book was just fantastic !
Saint was everything. I'm glad Kourt got it together. August and Imani both were narcissistic pos that should of got their asses whupped a long time ago.
