As the Christmas holiday approaches, a blizzard threatens the peaceful ambiance that the Timberton Hotel usually offers its guests. Even resident artist and chef, Mist, known to work near miracles, has no control over the howling winds and heavy snowfall. But there’s always a bit of magic in this small Montana town, and this year’s storm may just find it’s no match for heartfelt camaraderie, joyful inspiration, and sweet romance.
Deborah Garner is an accomplished travel writer with a passion for back roads and secret hideaways. Born and raised in California, she studied in France before returning to the U.S. to attend UCLA. After stints in graduate school and teaching, she attempted to clone herself for decades by founding and running a dance and performing arts center, designing and manufacturing clothing and accessories, and tackling both spreadsheets and display racks for corporate retail management. Her passions include photography, hiking and animal rescue. She speaks five languages, some substantially better than others. She now divides her time between California and Wyoming, dragging one human and two canines along whenever possible.
Every year I look forward to the next Christmas edition at Moonglow for its delightful characters, the food, decorations and comaraderie that exists between regulars and guests. This year provided even more surprises for one of the main characters (no spoilers, I promise). The story itself gives the reader such a sense of peace and a feeling of rightness at the holiday season. I love how Mist takes such care in designing the holiday menu and decorations, and the individual attention she pays to the surprise miniature paintings she makes for the guests. And of course, there are the wonderful recipes at the end of the story. I could only wish that we could actually hear and smell all that takes place, but the descriptions definitely feed the imagination amply. Looking forward to next year to see what else is new and who shows up for the event. Thanks to the author for helping to ease my own troubled soul during this holiday season!
I love when you read a story, you feel apart of it.The characters ,the description of the food and conversation, feels like your right there with them.I enjoyed this read so much I read in a day . The main character Mist has such a positive outlook on life ,its catching .
I look forward every year to the latest Moonglow novella! The descriptions of the Timberton Hotel decorations and festivities are always so vivid, and it’s like getting to see old friends again every year. This is a very peaceful and sweet series, extremely low in drama and high in kindness.
Another wonderful addition to the Moonglow series I look forward every year to Deborah Garner's Christmas books. They are heartwarming and the essence of magic during the holidays. Mist, Betty, and Clive are the backbone of the Timberton Hotel and they welcome a certain number of new and old guests to their hotel... Each book has a meaningful life lesson and I cherish each book that I read. Someday I would love to own a signed copy of one of the books in the series. I sincerely hope that the author continues to write a Christmas story for this series Highly recommend
I was so happy to see a new Moonglow book for this Christmas. The seventh in this series did not disappoint. Ms. Garner weaves family, friendships, food and a touch of romance into each book. Mist, Betty and Clive make the Timberton Hotel a "home away from home" for their guests each year. It was wonderful seeing old friends with returning guests and to meet new friends who have joined them for this year's celebration. A positive start for me each year to begin the Christmas holiday season.
I read all the previous books in this series last year and just like the guests of the hotel say coming back every Christmas is like coming home, so is reading these heartwarming Christmas novels! This one didn’t disappoint. These novels may be short, but full of love, joy, and Christmas spirit! I love all the descriptions of the hotel decor and food. It’s just perfect! This one made me emotional at the end.
i always rate these books a 4 or a 5. it’s not that the books are masterpieces, they just make me happy. lovely christmas books set in wyoming in an old hotel. i love reading about the people, the food, and the special presents. the moonglow series might not appeal to you but i bet there are a few of you that love, as i do, to get cozy and read a cozy.
This story from a series, set in a lodge at Christmas, is a sweet, feel-good experience. Mist, both chef and artist, is intuitive and usually is the creator and bearer of gifts and good things. This year she becomes the recipient, too, and changes appear to be coming if the series progresses. Start at the beginning of the series to enjoy during the holiday season.
Christmas is fast approaching and the Timberton Hotel is ready for it's guests. Mist, the resident chef, is preparing the menu for the guests and townsfolk who will be having their holiday meal at the hotel. There is something special about Mist. She always seems to know exactly what people need. Some say there's a bit of magic in her. I loved this book! Wonderful characters, a well written story, and a touch of magic! Perfect book to read with a cup of tea. I happily recommend it!
This is not a typical holiday romance series but centers on Mist, a talented artist and chef at the Moon glow Cafe in the Timberton Hotel. Each book has returning holiday guests as well as new characters. Each guest leaves after Christmas having found peace at heart.
If you love feel good books--then this is the author for you. I have read most of this series--what a pleasure!! There may ne minor problems but they always get fixed as if by magic. Mist is the chef and she is a people person non compare. Actually all the inhabitants of Timberton Hotel--you will love every one of them!
I always know Christmas is close when I see a new Moonglow Christmas Book. Starlight at Moonglow has a few wonderful surprises for Mist and the rest of the crew. It’s definitely worth a read.
Yep! The Christmas season has begun! It was so good to revisit Mist and Betty at the hotel again this year. Never does it disappoint. Come enjoy the festivities! (and the wonderful recipes!)
I thoroughly enjoyed this last addition to the Moon glow Christmas series. But referred that l read it before the previous one. This is a cmfortable series with the added treat of delicious sounding recipes.
I have enjoyed all of these Moonglow books with Mist, Clive, Betty, Michael and the others, guests and regulars. I don't know if this is the last in the series or not but if not, the next will be different with Michael and Mist getting married and Mist moving out of the Moonglow Hotel.
This year there is a blizzard and Mist and Betty are hoping all their guests will make it. Some changes in store this year and a few surprises, but the food is always great and no one is complaining.
I absolutely loved it! Another beautiful Christmas at Moonglow. I truly wish this place was real in the world. I love visiting every Christmas and I feel like part of the family. This is a must read series! I can’t wait to visit again.
I absolutely love this series. A blizzard is coming and threatens to mess of Christmas at the hotel. But Mist is still set on making the best Christmas she can.
