Twenty-six-year-old housepainter Sean Timmerman returned to Haverly, Virginia to care for his beloved grandmother in her final weeks. As her funeral service starts, a late guest arrives: Sarah Henry, the woman who broke his heart three summers ago. What could inspire her to reappear at this moment of grief? And how can he keep his foolish heart from hoping that a story he thought was over might just be beginning?
Kate Courtright has found joy in stories her entire life. A romantic at heart, she loves reading stories that make her laugh and cry and believe in the power of love to change people’s lives. She loves literary and genre fiction and has a particular fondness for romance. She wrote her first story, about Cinderella eating spaghetti, when she was seven years old, and has been writing in one form or another ever since. She lives with her family in New York City and enjoys escaping to small towns and inviting bodies of water whenever she can.
It was an absolute pleasure reading this short story. It was very heart warming and really pulls you in. Most definitely will be reading other stories by Kate Courtright!
🖍️ This is a fast read. I did not care for the blasphemies and vulgar word that I found odd in a story with a church setting. I really looked forward to this story, too. 🗑 Other readers may find this story their plate’s delight; books with vulgarities and blasphemies are not for me.

Losing his grandmother devastates Sean Timmonman but even while grieving he finds the reappearance of an old love offers hope for the future. A beautifully written story about finding hope even in the midst of grief. Kate’s words flow off the page directly into the heart with a depth of understanding of human emotion.

This was such an awesome short love story. Gran funeral brought them back together in each other lives again. It shows we do not have time to wait at love but some are given second chances and you need to take it from experience the first time as Sarah did and not make the same mistakes again.
After his Grandmother's death Sean Timmerman will end up talking with his ex-girlfriend Sarah Henry, and he will get a surprise. I enjoyed reading this 17 page story. This is a new Author to me. I received acopy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sean was at his grandmother's funeral, when he spotted someone he never expected to see there - Sarah. She broke his heart three summers ago. What was her reason for coming back? Was she hoping for a second chance with Sean?
I received a free book, and this is my honest opinion.
A 15-minute story taking place on the day of Sean’s gran’s funeral, during which he is distracted by his memories and the arrival of Sarah. The get-together after the funeral reveals further secrets which have a significant impact on the future
