Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.

She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.

10 swooned stars!!!

❝ I stopped living until I found you, Juliet.” I look into her eyes. “You not only gave me my life back, but you gifted me with the promise of a future that is almost too much for me to imagine.❞

How do I describe Kavan Bane?

A grumpy loner.
A murderer in the eyes of the public.
A broken man who carries a lot of pain in his heart.
All that hidden under a façade of a cruel and heartless businessman.
A man on a mission to make his image less unfavourable and more human.

He doesn't give a fuck about what other people say.
He does all that to make his business grow even more.

And that's when he meets our heroine, Juliet.

A journalist who makes a living by writing for a gossip magazine.
A girl with beauty and brains.
And a whole lot of respect for both herself and those around her.
A glass-half-full kinda person.
A girl whose life he saves from a street mugger.

You can't not love her.
That's just not possible.
She is the sunshine yin to Bane's grumpy yang.

Kavan's interest in Juliet is strictly professional.
Or at least that's what he keeps telling himself.
Or everyone else for that matter.
He hires her to write an article about his vision for his company to improve his public image.
What he doesn't sign up for is the entire repertoire of emotions she stirs in him.
And so the fascination grows.

The chemistry keeps sparkling more and more with each interaction they have.

The jealous outburst when he finds out she has a date?
I'll be honest, I nearly pissed my pants with excitement!

One of my fave scenes!!!

I'm not gonna get into more details because I don't want to spoil this book to anyone.
I seriously loved it.

LOOOOOVED it!

It has all the elements I crave so much in a great romance:

-A grumpy sunshine? ✔
-A great built-up? ✔
-Characters you fall in love head over heels with? ✔✔✔
All that in a great dose of a slow burn.

I can say with total confidence that this is gonna be one of the best series for me this year.
If not ever.
If you haven't read Bull which is book 1, I highly recommend but it's not necessary to read it before you take a dive into this baby.
But it's still totally worth it.

I can't wait for Sean's and Harrison's story.
I'm pretty sure I'll devour them the same day they come out.
Just like I did with this baby.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Light and steamy

Low angst and bingeable in the best of ways, this billionaire romance is the kind of quick and sexy read that I love from Bladon. While the blurb had me thinking this was going to be a tense, darker read, it's definitely not that. The vibe is a little mysterious and a whole lot lighthearted, with an affection-starved antihero whose reputation precedes him. It reminded me of Beauty and the Beast, with a gruff, misunderstood hero, a vibrant and charming heroine, plenty of time spent in his home, and a staff that feels like family. This antihero also comes to our heroine's rescue, and it's the start of an unexpected and interesting relationship. The story probably could've delved a bit deeper and it's definitely shorter than I would've liked, but I devoured it in one sitting and enjoyed it the whole way through.

The story follows Juliet, a journalist who is just starting out her career. When she's mugged in an alley, a mysterious stranger comes to her rescue. He's gone before she can thank him, but that event changes the course of her life. Shortly after the incident, Juliet's boss says she's been requested for a special assignment - interview a reclusive billionaire, a man who is feared by most. That billionaire turns out to be none other than her rescuer, but Kavan is not the good guy she thought. Most people believe that he killed his father, and he's never given them a reason to believe otherwise. Kavan's reasons for choosing Juliet as the journalist to tell his story might be a bit cruel, but the more Juliet gets to know the mysterious stranger, the more she realizes that he's not a bad guy at all.

If you're new to the Buck Boys series, no worries - the connection to the first interconnected standalone is minimal at best. The marketing for the whole series is kinda weird to me, but that's a separate issue, lol. No, this isn't a western. And, no, there are no cruel games. It's a light and steamy billionaire romance with a little bit of a twist, and this unique storyline kept me turning the pages. Bladon excels at writing businessmen who fall hard for the right girl, and that's what we're dealing with here. I loved how Juliet turns Kavan's world upside down, and I loved the lightness that she brings to his life. The romance itself moves pretty quickly once it gets going, and I certainly wouldn't have complained about another 50 pages of story, but this did a great job of keeping me hooked. It's the kind of vibe that I expect from Bladon, and Kavan's background made it an interesting read. Digging deeper would've made this more powerful, but it easily satisfied my light and steamy craving.

The hero was very private and grumpy male but when he meets the beautiful smart sassy heroine, HE FEEL IN LOVE 🥺🥺 I like heroes like this, that meet the heroine in a cute way, and slowly but surely falls for her... CUTE ROMANTIC SAFE HOT LOVE STORY🥺🥺🥺 I said aweee so many times when I read this❤️❤️❤️❤️

The hero is a BILLIONAIRE but not a manwhor3. The billionaire meet the heroine in a dark alley when she as a reporter was walking by in that way from her talk with someone about some news she needs. Suddenly the heroine falls down because some guy is trying to rob her by getting her purse. She was shock and scared, and suddenly the hero comes and save her... He fought the guy and she was saved. The heroine was trying to find the hero afterwards but he was gone when the police arrived. Days goes by, the heroine was being called to do a interview to someone important. And that someone is the hero himself. At first The hero have no idea that the heroine is the woman he saved, he only wants her to do his interview because he read her article and he liked it. He really was impressed of how the heroine's work as a reporter. And when they meet again, things went from shocking to romance. And oh boy, it was very sweet romance for sure.

You won't be disappointed...

The story is not too long either, i wish it was longer though cause i liked it very much. It's well written and no unnecessary drama...

‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING

‼️‼️‼️NO SEPARATION

‼️‼️‼️TRIGGER: Suicide, killing, violence, alcohol, hospital, death and robbery.

‼️‼️‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT.

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE. NOT OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE THOUGH, BUT ENOUGH AND HANDSOME GUY THAT WEARS SUITS 😝

The hero went through a lot of personal traumatic experience in his life that made him a bit grumpy, never smiles and rarely even laugh his butler said. He is old money, grow up from rich parents but his not too cocky or arrogant about it. I find it funny that he doesn't know what is a piggyback ride lol.

Even though he was like that, the hero always sweet and honest and loving to the heroine. He never let that damage inside of him or burden inside of him from the past gets between their relationship 🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS REALLY OBSESSED AND WANTS THE HEROINE SOOOO BAD...

“I’m real. This is real.”

His hand snakes down my back to my ass.

“I know and I never want to let you go.”

‼️‼️‼️ THE HEROINE is a sweet funny friendly beautiful sassy young woman. If the hero is being mean to her, she will say it the second it happen. The heroine is sassy alright.

“You’re an asshole. I’m leaving.”

Panic races through me as she reaches to pick up her purse.

“Juliet.”

The only sound echoing through the penthouse is the click of her heels as she heads toward the elevator.

I sprint around her to block her path.

“Move.”

She pushes a hand on my chest.

“Get the hell out of my way.”

I hold her hand on my chest, over my heart.

“Stop.”

“Stop what?” she snaps.

“Stop doing my job? Stop trying to help you? Stop caring about you?”

That’s all it takes for the dam within me to burst. I yank her closer, pull on the back of her hair to line her mouth up with mine and I crash my lips into hers.

🥺🥺🥺

‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS.

‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. ONLY WITH OM but it was a date that heroine accepts from that guy because the hero was not making any move on her and she wasn't really expect him to do. Like she wasn't waiting on him forever though so she said yes to the date with someone else...

The hero follows the heroine on her date with that guy 😆😆😆

“I take a seat with my friends, wondering what Juliet is doing with her new friend. ”

“I asked him to drive me here so we could park across the street from Juliet’s apartment. It’s not logical, but neither is what I’ve been feeling brewing inside of me since I cornered her at my penthouse and asked what she’s expecting from this date. For some goddamn reason, I feel a pressing need to see what this Slate person looks like.”

😆😆😆

‼️‼️‼️NOT MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM BOTH.

‼️‼️‼️LOCATION: NEW YORK CITY

‼️‼️‼️VERY HOT SMUT SCENES.

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS 29 YEARS OLD AND THE HEROINE IS 25 YEARS OLD.

‼️‼️‼️I love it that the hero never brings any woman before to his own home, the heroine is the first woman. And last.

‼️‼️‼️THEIR CHEMISTRY IS SOOO FREAKIN ROMANTIC AND EMOTIONAL AND HOT.

The hero really opens up to the heroine about things and the heroine did too. Like both of them really be there for each other in those hard times...

‼️‼️‼️BOTH ARE SINGLE WHEN THEY MET.

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING. ENGAGED🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽

I have a disclaimer down bellow if you have negative thoughts about my review😙😙😙

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 I won’t respond to negativity comments🙏🏼🙏🏼 DON’T ASK ME AGAIN ABOUT WHY NOT RESPONDING TO YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENTS BECAUSE I ALREADY SAY IT HERE AND I WON’T BE EXPLAINING AGAIN BECAUSE WE’RE NOT CHILDREN SO ITS NOT HARD FOR YOU AN ADULT TO UNDERSTAND😌😌 YES MY REVIEW IS LONG BUT YOU READ IT ANYWAY AND ITS FINE ACTUALLY I CAN WRITE AS LONG AS I LIKE😎 YES MY GRAMMAR IS BAD SOMETIMES AND MAYBE ALL THE TIME BUT LUCKILY MANY PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING🤪 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

This story called me single in so many ways…

⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆

I will admit I did read this in July thinking I could finish this by the end of July but I couldn’t-

𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧 (𝗳𝗰: 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻)

This girl is truly the best person for Kavan! There really nothing bad to say about her. She changed Kavan and the whole staff! She light up the room just by being herself and getting to know the people around her! She respected Kavan and is patient with him!

𝐊𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐞 (𝗳𝗰: 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗘𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗼)

This man…my book boyfriend! I don’t know how he just allowed himself to be my book boyfriend but her did-
This man is so wonderful to Julia the way his physical touch makes my heart melt! He has been through bad times and I’m glad he allowed Julia to see that side of him! I need a man like him!

I thought this book was going to be boring but it proved me wrong! This was the book I didn’t know I needed to read!

𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗨𝗣

Julia and Kavan are meant to be! This was a slow burn romance and I enjoyed every seconded of it.

There were parts of the book that had me skeptical but it proved me wrong!

Overall 4/5 stars! ★

I was going to give it a 3.5 stars but the ending made my rating go up! Kavan is so romantic and he just makes me blush!

I’ll continue to read the next book!

He is a playboy. When he ran after heroine Juliet, the two girl approached him for threesome and he rejected them cause had heroine was with his mother who Left him for years. But seeing those girls he remembered he had threesome with two girls once. Then he fucked Juliet right after he said about his threesome😑

The Buck Boys series follows 4 friends who met during their younger years in boarding school. I loved this story, these characters are sooo addicting, and I wanted more!

Kavan Bane, elusive, loner, billionaire, also the subject of whispers around a story that pushed him into his own solitude. Juliet, a hardworking journalist picked to write a certain piece about Mr. Bane. Needing to somewhat restore his image with the public and board members, Juliet is allowed an exclusive opportunity. Such a good story, I love seeing him fall head over heels for his girl. Kavan, so straightforward, gruff, but seriously, so swoony. Juliet is so likeable and isn’t going to back down, she has a backbone. These two have amazing chemistry. Great supporting characters, love seeing the DB Easter eggs in all the books. I can’t wait for the last 2 Buck Boys.

Disappointing. It lacked the charm, fun and romance of the previous book.
It had me intrigued in Kavan and curious about his story.
Sadly him and "Juliet" just didn't work for me. No connection, no chemistry, no romance between them.
It also didn't help matters that Juliet... I'm struggling to find the right words, she wasn't exactly stupid or ditzy but it wasn't far from it. Shallow maybe, it just felt like she lacked substance, character and came across as quite the pushover at times.

The writing was mostly good, but I just have to point out the overuse of the word "lure/lures/lured". According to a word search in the book it was used 25 times although it felt like at least twice that much... by 30% I was already doing an involuntary eye roll every time it popped up

Really hoping the next two Buck Boys turn out better

This book was sweet and there wasn't any drama. It was a bit of a slowburn, the characters don't get intimate until 60% of the way through the book. However, the book is short so you're not waiting too long.

I love Deborah Bladon’s books in general, but this book hit the sweet spot for me. I couldn’t put it down! It read a little like the first FSOG book, minus the BDSM. I thought Kavan Bane was one of the best dominant heroes I’ve read in awhile and Juliet Bardin gives as good as she gets. I would have loved a little more detail to the s-m-e-x-y scenes, but overall I adored this book!

I gave this book 4 stars is because it was an EXCELLENT pallet cleanser. I've been in the worst book slump ever, no book at B&N interested me and I didn't care to read any of my physical TBR. I googled "billionaire romance" on a whim and this was one of the books on the list, so I sat my ass down to read it. I absolutely ATE this book up in a day, it was a great quick easy read that kept me on my toes the whole way through.

But first of all, how do you even pronounce Kavan? I went through 3 pronunciations during the whole book, but none of them felt right. Regardless of my bad pronunciation skills, I thought the nam Kavan Bane SCREAMED billionaire and it fit him SO SO well.

I loved the opening of this book with the robbery, the scarf (especially loved how this scarf came up later in the book), and Kavan's vernacular made him stand out from the first couple pages of the book. The murder-mystery added so much to the plot, and the Miami storyline made up for the lack of chemistry between Kavan and Juliet.

The only reason I deducted a star was because I felt that Kavan and Juliet rushed into sex/a relationship too quickly before establishing their feelings. There wasn't much mention of attraction other than physical attraction, so the "I love you" was like a bucket of ice water dousing me.

4/5 stars, perfect if you need a quick spicy billionaire romance to read.

I had to drop at about 10%, but the only thought I had while reading this book was “this has got to be parody”. Nothing happening made any logical sense and the dialogue was cringy. It did have a nice premise though.
The book starts with Juliet’s (mc) sister fussing over and hammering safety measures into her. You would think she was sending her to war but apparently all the drama is over a 25 year old adult going out to meet an acquaintance/run errands for max 3 hours 🙄. Ironically as she is running said errands she is getting mugged. However instead of utilizing all the safety tools she has or even the self defense she has learnt, she decides - I am going to struggle with this obviously stronger man. In the middle of said struggle, she is KOed. And you wouldn’t believe she woke up almost immediately with no disorientation lol. This is where ml shows up with some cringy overused sentence (I honestly felt like I was 13 again reading wattpad). His entire dialogue was just full of cringy lines. And don’t get me started on when she gets to the hospital.
I really wanted to enjoy this book because the synopsis seemed good but alas it didn’t happen.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This is the second book of the series. I loved Juliet. Wasn’t sure about Kavan, until he showed his substance. This author writes exceptional stories with characters that are very ‘real’. You become engaged in what is happening and this is why I wasn’t sure I liked Kavan, he was a bit too constrained emotionally and this put me off, but was what made the story. This is a very lovely slow to develop romance. The couple both have serious issues in their past(I don’t do spoilers). Just know the spark is there for both of them and when they ignite, it is an inferno. I wasn’t as caught up with this as I was with the first book, but still will re-read this in future years. I think knowing a bit of back ground about the “Buck boys” made it a bit less ‘unknown’, if you will. It is a memorable story and the two leave you wanting so much more of their lives. The side characters were so important and I enjoyed them - they added a great deal to the story.
I was provided an ARC for an honest review.

Cruel is the second book in the buck boys Hero’s series by Deborah Blandon and I absolutely loved this book. I’m a huge fan of Deborah Blandons and have yet to read a book I haven’t enjoyed. Cruel was Kavan Banes storey and holy swoon this brooding guy is being added to my book boyfriend list. The grumpy alpha man with a heart of gold gets me every time. Juliette our heroine was my favourite type of leading lady, she was sweet, kind, brought joy to everyone she met, knew her worth and not only sassy but stood her ground with our hero. I absolutely loved Juliette. Cruel was fast passed and felt a little insta love to me. I do love me some angst and a good grovel in my romance, and even with a broody hero this was more of a feel good book. If you’re looking for a contemporary sweet nice romance with some good steam I would definitely recommend this. I can’t wait to see what to see what’s in store for the other Buck boys!

This is book 2 in ‘The Buck Boys Heroes’ series and can be read as a standalone.
It’s a sweet Billionaire romance with plenty of steam.

Juliet Bardin moved to New York 6 months ago with her sister and writes for one of the top gossip blogs in the country. While getting information from her top informant she is almost mugged in an alley. Lucky for her she is rescued by a mysterious and handsome stranger but, he’s not interested in taking credit for his good deed.

Kavan Bane is an extremely rich man who lives a private life with only a few important people surrounding him. He runs Bane Enterprises but, is having a hard time pleasing the public and his board members since he refuses to reveal the truth about unflattering rumors. Since the attempted mugging, Kavan is intrigued by Juliet and picks her to write an exposé article stating his vision for his company’s growth for the future. While Kavan has made it very clear that anything personal is completely off limits, he did not anticipate how much Juliet would change his life by teaching him to trust and live life again.

I received an ARC for this book and this is my review.

Buck Boy#2

As a fan of the Author I was looking forward to this second book in her latest Series. You should read the first book BULL before this one. We were introduced to Kavan Bane in the first book but not much was known about him. He's a reclusive Billionaire living & working from his penthouse. He lives with the guilt that he caused his Father's mysterious death. Juliet is an inspiring journalist who is saved from a mugging by Kavan. He decides to use her to clear his name & save his Father's business by granting her an exclusive interview with him. As with her other books the Author includes characters that we have met before. To say that Juliet has an impact on Kavan's life would be an understatement! Looking forward to meeting the rest of the Buck Boys!

Romeo and Juliet

Juliet was starting journalist career, writing for a gossip newspaper. She was meeting an informant to get pictures of the latest hot couple engagement. However after leaving she decided to take a shortcut through the alley were she is acosted by a mugger, she trying to fight him off when Kavan a Billionaire of Bane Enterprises helps her with the mugger and ties him up and leaves before police arrives. Juliet thought she would never see him again. Kavan however had a bad reputation because most people believed he killed his father and even after 5 years he had yet to explain what happened the night his father died. So he requested Juliet to do a business article……their friendship grew throughout the story with laughter and suspense. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another fantastic addition to this new series. The Buck Boys tells the stories of a group of Billionaires that met back in the day at a private boarding school and remained friends into adulthood. This is Kavan Bane's story. A billionaire that needs his image revamped to improve his standing with his board of directors. Enter Juliet, an up and coming journalist who is given the opportunity of a lifetime, if she can create a story the world wants to hear about the mysterious Kavan Bane. This slow burn had all right ingredients for a wonderful romantic story. I loved their chemistry. These two were magnificent together. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and this is my honest review.

Another Winner

Thank you Deborah for giving women characters with brains, baron and beauty. Juliet is quick thinking, attentive, compassionate and loving. Kavan and Juliet are the perfect couple because in many ways they the opposites of each other yet on the same waves. It's difficult to believe that Kavan's mother turned her back on her son when she knew her husband had issues. I've read all of your books as soon as they are available. I may be angry at some of the characters but I'm never disappointed in your writing. Thank you for giving believable feel good fantasies.

a wonderful Love Story

I love when there is a mystery that’s to good to want to put the book down. I was caught somewhere in the need to go to bed, get some sleep and try to wake up for work but just didn’t want to put this book down. It drives me crazy that I need to wait until the end to find out what happens but I refuse to skip forward to take a peek.

I loved Juliet’s calm and positive demeanor and the way she took her time with Kavan. Although Kavan has hidden away from the world, so to speak, his plan to use Juliet isn’t full proof. It seems he has met his match and it was so interesting to watch.

Juliet and Kavan are an intense and incredible couple. Deborah once again knocked this book out of the park. This is a redemptive love story for the ages.

Kavan is a cold, withdrawn and intense man. As we learn more about this characters back story we come to understand why he has become so distant from everyone. When you are traumatized by something like he is it’s very difficult to allow yourself to feel anything.

Juliet is passionate, compassionate, and full of joy. As her story unfolds it’s surprising when you learn her backstory bc she is so open and caring for others. Her trauma allows her to feel empathy, sympathy and compassion especially when others don’t.

4 Cruel stars

The second book in the buck boys series... We met mysterious, and arrogant Kavan Bane in Bull.... Cruel is Bane indeed. ...or is he? He save s Juliet from a mugging, so the reader gets a glimpse of a different side. Juliet's writer for a magazine background is the perfect solution to help Kavan convince his board that he's not all bad. But then we learn there's something dark from Kavans 's past he wants hidden. Will Juliet keep it a secret?...because she's gone and fallen in love with the man the outside world says is cruel

A very different story than the normal romance. A young and upcoming reporter and a billionaire hiding secrets is the basis of this story. At first Kavan comes across as the person the public believe he is. Juliet is called on to write a story about the future of Bane Enterprises. A friendship evolves during their time together making for a delightful ending to this rollercoaster of a storyline. Great read

What a heart warming love story from the pen of Deborah Bladon.
Juliet is asked to write a article about Kavan Bain, this empire, Bain Industries.

Juliet is tasked to find out what happened that night Kavan's father fell out of the hotel window in Miami, but Kavan has never spoken to anybody about it.

This is a sweet and slow love story, of how telling the true will set you free and find the best love of your life.

Truths and Love

How did Billionaire Kavan Bane’s father die? Did he kill him as alleged in gossip rags? That is the question that dominates much of this book and the mind of the reporter, Juliet, who is assigned to write an article on his company. The H/h have an immediate attraction and although a mystery and secret is at the heart of main characters getting to know each other as they fall in love, the book is relatively low angst.

He’s dangerous, addictive, and my newest assignment.
The future I desperately crave rests in the palm of his hand.

Breathtakingly handsome and painfully private, he’s the sinner who killed a saint.
That’s what the world sees when they catch a glimpse of Kavan Bane.
He’s the mysterious billionaire tucked away in his penthouse high above Manhattan.
My job is to understand him.
His goal is to break me.
Only one of our hearts will survive.
Let the cruel games begin.

I'm torn on this review .

Good- the characters are good solid well developed characters

Bad, is how I've cringed through Kavan attacking her with kisses to shut her up/down when she was completely doing an excellent job for the story. Seemed pushover.
Maybe from the intimacy the story flew....so I did recover from his sexual attack that wasn't sexy to me...but it was to Juliet (?) who was trying to be serious about her job but fair to him.

Great light read.

This was a quick read with an intriguing plot and multifaceted characters. I think the overall story would have benefited from a more in depth development of the hero and heroine. Their backstories get dropped into a couple of conversations and since they were important to the storyline, additional information would have improved the narrative. The book just felt rushed. 3 stars.
