An old threat sparks a new love…

Karina

I thought my nightmare was over. The threat was eliminated. Yet even after five years, I still look over my shoulder and feel like I can’t trust anyone. So when a familiar face from my dark past appears, I know danger has found me again.

Fleeing is the only option, the only way I can protect myself and those I love. But I underestimate how much they love me in return and what they’ll go through for me.

Knox

I would do anything for a friend, so when my old special forces buddy Hollywood calls and asks me to protect his sister-in-law, I rush to the rescue. Only the beautiful and frightened woman doesn’t seem too open to accepting my assistance.

Karina doesn’t want my help, but when terror hunts her again, she seeks solace in my arms. I may be the only one who can stop the ultimate threat... and while I fight for the life of the woman I’ve been tasked with defending, I know my own heart and future hang in the balance.

"Rescuing Karina" is the story of Knox and Karina.

A heroine running from a nightmare..
The man on the mission to protect her..
Loads of drama, suspense and internal dialogue, with hints of romance and HEA.

It was OK!

This was a nice age-gap, protector read from Hope Ford. She's going to be going wide this year so I probably won't be able to read as much of her stuff anymore so... we'll see how that goes.

Karina is on the run from someone in her past and her brother-in-law gets Knox to help protect her to keep her safe. Do you think that Knox instantly falls in love with her? Well, yeah. It's a Hope Ford novella. lol.

If you like your alphas protective then this is a book for you.

Swoon 😍

Knox is immediately so protective of Karina, I loved their instant connection! They have a slightly rocky start but their ending is so beautiful.

I was not expecting the mentions of characters from Susan Stokers books so that was a nice surprise!

To be a book belonging to Operation Alpha is not enough.
The story seemed to be interesting, it even has my name in the title (lol) so it was a must read. However, it took me a long time to finish it. Without a bit of backup it's hard to understand where the characters come from. Even once the protagonist mentions another character that was never introduced to her.
The plot is forced. She doesn't want to put her family in danger so she does the dumbest thing of all, she runs away alone with no money and no plan and no support. He wants to protect her but he leaves her alone.
It's not for me.

Pleasant and nice, this is the story of Karina and Knox, as they get together when her life is in danger and he helps his friend, her brother in law, by protecting her.

It's a well written book, a short and pleasant one, though maybe it needed to be longer in order to explore all the emotional levels this kind of romantic suspense entails, with a heroine having such a trauma from the past.

The love story flows easily, but there is not much that went earthshattering for me, just a quick and pleasant read. I'm looking forward for the next stories in the series, though.

I received this in order to offer my honest opinion on it.

Hope Fords books of Whiskey Run are excellent, so this one as part of the Special Forces:Operation Alpha series is an added bonus. The story has plenty of depth that will keep you on the edge of your seat, with plenty of danger, suspense, some heat, but it's the storyline that will keep you enthralled with the book. Karina is determined to protect her sister who is married to Hollywood and their daughter, from an ex con who has a score to settle with her. Excellent read and a HEA. My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

Knox has been feeling like something is missing in his life, especially after a rescue mission where he sees a husband do anything to save his wife. He wants that kind of love.
Karina is trying to put her life back together, she was abducted by human traffickers in high school, her sister and brother in law, Hollywood a Delta Force member save her. Lately she has been feeling like someone is watching her, then she thinks she sees her abductor, he was her high school boyfriend. Turns out it’s the abductor’s twin brother, Nick and he wants revenge against her and the Delta Force team that got his twin and their other brother killed. When Nick attacks her in a garage she uses her self defense skills and escapes. Knowing she can’t go back to her apartment and can’t lead Nick to her sister and Hollywood, she runs. She makes it to Oklahoma where her car dies, a kind mechanic buys her car and gives her a pocket knife for protection, she takes buses till she gets to Tennessee. Her family realizes something is up and Hollywood contacts Knox to help Karina. When Knox gets his first look at her picture he knows she is what has been missing from his life. He convinces Karina with the help of Hollywood to come to his house so he can protect her and trap Nick.
Their attraction is mutual and they have sex, she’s a virgin and he says it’s been a long time for him. The rest of the team comes to help and they make a plan. A few of the guys go to trap Nick with a false lead to Karina. But this guy is smart and kidnaps a young girl and send Karina the pictures telling her she needs to come or he will kill the girl.
Here where you want to slap Karina, she was being a bit of a “tough guy” before, saying she’s protecting her sister and an elite Delta Force team, now she has a room full mercenaries and she doesn’t utilize them, instead she slip away and heads off to rescue the young girl alone. How is it that a bunch of military guys turned mercenaries find the dumbest women to love (same scenario in Redeem). The guys arrive just as Nick takes her, they rescue the young girl and get additional help to find Nick. Thankfully she shows her tough guy side and gets a few kicks in and then literally rescues herself by killing Nick with the pocket knife the mechanic gave her. In the end Knox tells her he loves her and will move to Texas so she can be with her family. Epilogue with them getting married.
I liked seeing all the guys from previous books. I would really like to see these guys tell these women what they really do for a living so they realize they are capable of helping them.

*spoilers* First I love Susan Stoker's books and this story relates to Hollywood's and Karina's story. It certainly adds to the story if you know it, but it is not necessary, also I recommend reading it anyway because it is awesome :o). Karina was kidnapped and threatened to sold into human trafficking in Susan's story. Her sister and the Delta force team rescued her, but she still feels guilty. She just finished college and tries to get work as a social worker. She pretends to date and have a social life, lying to her family, because she does not want them to worry about her. She is still deeply affected from what happened to her. When she apllies for a job she is attacked by the twin brother of her ex boyfriend, who kidnapped her. Nobody knows about him and he wants to revenge his brother and half brother.Knox saw his friends find their love of their lives and seeks the same. When he rescues a loving couple he gets restless. He is part of a mercenary with special assignments settled in Whiskey Run. His old buddy Hollywood calls him to check up on his sister in law, because she seems to be in trouble and he is worried but on a mission. Knox sees her and becomes her protector. But Karina feels guilty about putting anybody else in danger...
I soaked this story up. I could not put it down. I enjoyed meeting so many characters again, but even if you have not read any of the other stories, the characters are so well developed. Fot the length of the story they have depth, I cried, worried and loved with Knox and Karina. I only wished it was longer :o).

'Rescuing Karina' by Hope Ford is the fourth book in her Whiskey Run Heroes series and is a special addition that is connected to Susan Stoker's Delta Force Heroes world which tells the story of Karina and Knox. Karina is still dealing with some PTSD from her kidnapping five years ago. But when she sees a ghost from her past she is terrified and confused because everyone that had been involved was dead. When she is attacked but escapes she finally tells her sister what she has been going through. Hollywood, her brother-in-law, asks Knox, his special forces buddy to look into the situation. Knox discovers that the twin brother of Karina's kidnapper is out of prison and seeking revenge for his twin's death. Karina didn't want Knox's help but as the threats continue she is happy he stuck around. Now he just has to convince he is hers for good.

Ms. Ford has written a compelling addition to the series. I like how Knox supported Karina without pressuring her and how their relationship between them developed so organically. There are twists and turns, suspense, action, passion, and steamy encounters. This book may be a bit short but it is well written with likable characters, great dialogue, and an intriguing plot. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a quick but satisfying read with their glass of wine.

I recalled once this book started where this character had come from and her background. If you feel you need more then absolutely you should read the amazing rescuing Kassie by Susan Stoker which will set up beautifully and in more depth Karina’s history. (Not strictly needed though to enjoy this book)

I really liked where the author took this story and it’s always satisfying to see a previously peripheral character pop up.

Alpha Knox just couldn’t help himself when he met Karina and the progression from protector, to lover to forever was speedy yet satisfying.

Karina has spent the last few years lying to make her family feel better, portraying a fantasy of normality she most definitely isn’t living, when her past unexpectedly catches up to her despite her head telling her it was never going to happen, she goes on the run, not realising her family have her back. Despite being abroad Hollywood jumps into action and sends Knox to discover what the truth is and ensure her safety.

A fast paced book the only problem I had was that it was over too soon, and

Spoiler alert……

The band broke up!!!!!

Enjoyable and satisfying read

This story is set in the Whiskey Run series and it is about Knox and Karina. Karina had been kidnapped years ago to be sold by human trafficker's but was rescued by her sister and Hollywood, a member of the Delta Force. But no one seemed to know that Blake, one of her kidnappers had a twin brother, Nick doing time in prison. When Karina first sees Nick she thinks he is Blake and Nick tells her he blames her for his brothers death and he is after Delta Force but he is starting with her because she is such an easy target. Karina is able to get away from Nick and gets in her car and starts driving thinking the further she can get away from Nick the safer her family will be. Karina ends up in Knoxville and that is where Knox comes to rescue her. Hollywood had her phone tracked and he got in touch with Knox to help protect her. This is a fast paced exciting steamy short story that hits all the high notes. Karina and Knox are likable characters and have great chemistry together. I just felt the Delta Force should have known that Karina's kidnapper had a twin brother in prison and should have been watching for him at least.

Good but details missing.
The love story for Karina and Knox was good for once it wasn't (or didn't feel like) 2 minutes, and then I love yous. Knox at least had some respect for her situation to wait a little.
He was your typical alpha getting angry she had some bruises.
The bit that was lacking was the main story background.
I dont understand why her ex and his brother kidnapped her years ago in the first place.. why? To apparently traffic her, but what is a 17 year old doing in that world randomly?
She seemed to have sooo much truama from it but there was no details of what they actually did to her just that her sister tried to save her and got hurt (but is perfectly fine married with a daughter).
There was so much detail about Karina's career choice at the begining that I thought it would end with her being offered a job by Walker, but nope they moved cities and left the team, even after highlighting she seemed to have sparked a friendship with grumpy bear... what was the point of that.
And I kind of wanted a reunion with the car repair guy since he was brought up a lot.
Overall, it was an ok book. Quick read, 1 light sexy scene where she loses her v card like it's nothing (common by this author).

Hope Ford's Rescuing Karina is book 4 in her Whiskey Run: Heroes series while also playing in the sandbox of Susan Stoker's Delta Force Heroes world. Knox gets a call from a buddy from his military days, Hollywood, seeking help for his sister-in-law who appears to be on the run. Knox agrees to help - and when he lays eyes on Karina, he knows he will do whatever he has to to protect her for the rest of his life. After surviving a kidnapping at seventeen, five years later Karina is strong and brave - and not about to put her family in danger when the past comes back to haunt her. Once Knox catches up to her, she quickly falls for the gorgeous alpha. But will her strong will and courage end things before they can really begin?

Swoon-worthy hero, check. Sassy heroine, check. A little danger and drama tempered by some seriously steamy romance, check, check, ooooh boy, check. A definite must-read whether you are die-hard Hope Ford fan (like me) or have fortunately managed to stumble upon her for the first time!

Rescuing Karina will keep you on the edge of your seat with each turn of the page. Karina has been on the run after the incident with her ex, feeling something is not right, all comes to a head with her ex's brother appears. Knox receives a call from a buddy to help with his sister-in-law, what he did not expect was the strong woman that he found.

This is a great addition to the series that pulls you from the start and takes you and your emotions on a thrilling ride of danger suspense and passion. Knox has watched his buddy one by one fall in love, that now coming home to an empty house has lost its appeal. Knowing Hollowood was very protective of his family, Knox did not want to let him down, but feeling the pull towards Karina he was not about to give her up. Karina is stubborn woman, who feels not telling her family will keep them save, this only puts her more in danger.

Grab this book and get lost in Whiskey Run.

Karina was kidnapped when she was younger, her sister was injured rescuing her. She is jumpy al the time but does not want to tell her sister, she is trying to protect her family. When she sees the guy who abducted her who is supposed be dead, she kind of freaks out, only to find it is his twin who had been in jail. When he tries to grab her, she manages to get away and make a run for it.

Knox is called by a friend to take care of his sister-in-law while he is out of the country. He gets one look at her photo and he is a goner, he will protect her with everything he has.

This is story is a spin off Rescuing Kassie by Susan Stoker, the Delta Force Heroes series, which tells the back story of what happened to the sisters. Can Knox keep Karina safe and neutralize the threat? This is part of Whiskey Run: Heroes, cannot wait for Logan's story.

This is another installment in the Whisky Run Hero’s series and Hope knocked it out of the park with this one just like all the rest! This is the story of Karina who was kidnapped when she was a teenager and Knox, the Alpha Merc who is tasked to protector her. Karina knows that her kidnapper is dead but when she sees a man she thinks is him, but is actually his brother bent on damage, she goes on the run in order to protect her family. Her brother-in-law calls in Knox to help locate Karina and keep her safe until he can return to the US and get her to safety. Knox knows as soon as he sees Karina that she’s it for him and he’ll do anything to help keep her safe. Karina knows she can trust Knox even if he’s the first man she’s ever trusted and the sparks these two ignite fly off the page. I highly recommend this and all the other books in the Whisky Run Hero’s series

Karina was kidnapped and almost sold into trafficking in her past. Now she is on the run because someone from her past is after her. She refuses to go to her family to chance them getting hurt. Knox is a friend of Hollywood and when he gets asked a favor, he is willing to go do whatever it is for his friend. He heads to where his friend tells him Karina is to collect her to get her to safety. Karina isn't as trusting so she waits until Hollywood confirms who Knox is before opening the door. Once they are at his place its not long before Knox has her opening up about what is going on. Will they be able to take care of the man that's after her? Will Knox claim her for his own?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Karina still feels like someone is following her even though she lived through a kidnapping. Suddenly she finds out that her feelings are right and someone from her past has caught up with her once again. She takes off hoping to find safety and lands up with Knox her brother in law’s friend. Know feels like something is missing from his life and one look at Karina he knows what it is. Knox and the guys from Delta take on the task to keep Karina safe and deal with her stalker once and for all. This was an edge if your seat read filled with suspense and intrigue. Knox is protective but sweet and tender where Karina us concerned. Karina falls for Knox immediately but feels guilty when danger comes after Knox and his friends and tries to end the situation herself. An awesome read with genuine characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This story is with the Whiskey Run Heroes and focuses on Karina and Knox. Karina was kidnapped 5 years ago and she knows that Blake and Dean are dead because her brother in law Hollywood and his team, The Delta Force, took care of it. Now she's looking at Blakes twin brother, is in the parking garage and he's ready to finish what his brother didn't finish. Now she's on the run and doesn't know where she's going. She ends up in Tennessee as far away from her sister and The Delta Team. Hollywood calls one of his friends Knox and asks if he's still with Whiskey Run. Then he tells him to go and protect his sister-in-law. Karina finds that when she's with Knox she trusts him with her life. Now they just have to get rid of Nick, Blakes twin who's after her. This has plenty of action, adventure, danger, violence, passion and love. Great story.

This story grabs you and takes you on a wild and crazy ride with ups and downs and twists and turns. Karina is in danger and she is on the run to protect her family. Karina’s brother-in-law calls in a favor asking Knox to find Karina and protect her until he can get there. Knox is a big, muscled, security specialist. When he finds Karina she doesn’t want to get story him involved because of the danger, but Knox is all about danger. Knox feels protective and caring about Karina. He will protector her and keep her safe. Knox is very tender and possessive with Karina. Knox is instantly attracted to Karina and he feels he is starting to really care about her. Can this work? What is going to happen with the danger Karina is in? What an amazing, entertaining, enjoyable read! Passion, lust and a steamy love story.

One call and his future is changed in an instant

Rescuing Karina is the fourth book in the Whiskey Run Heroes series and is also connected to the Special Forces: Operation Alpha series by Susan Stoker. This is an action packed, adrenaline pumping story that touches on darker elements, and potential triggers. The story is about Karina, a woman who had a traumatic experience five years previously when she was kidnapped by sex traffickers. She was saved at the time and the bad men were killed but now she is about to be put put in danger again with a revenge plot. So she runs until she cannot run any longer. That is when Knox steps in after receiving a call from Hollywood asking for help in protecting Karina. What neither knew at that moment was that he would take one look at the beautiful woman and he was done and dusted......it was love. Now he will do what ever it takes to keep her safe and protected, and make her his before it all over.

Wow so good!! Loved it!
Karina is on the run from someone from her past and Knox is called in by his buddy to go help her.
This is so good, lots of drama and suspense but very romantic with a little steam. Their relationship came on quick but it was more of a slow boil, than fast. Their connection was to be envied also. Sweet and caring, it was great to see such an alpha male being so sweet, caring and protective.
I loved the writing also, had to laugh a couple of times especially when Knox said to the guys to tone it down, not to look so intimidating. Like big, buff, alpha guys could. Just so funny. I loved the humour, the dialogue and just the general style was making this a wonderful read! Terrific book!!.

I am loving getting to meet all the characters in this series, after they get mentioned it previous books and that the endings leave it open for the next characters story.
I very much enjoyed both characters, the author really does bring them to life in your head and allows you to envision their story in your head.
The storyline was engaging and fast and constantly kept you flicking to the next page to see where the story would take you.
The drama elements made you anticipate so much more and then seeing their romance shine through allowed the book to keep you in suspense at where they would go and how it would all end.
The author really does manage to make this series feel intense and sensual at the same time, she aces the romantic suspense element and gives you a story that is packed with so much its bursting at the seems.

I really enjoyed this book. Karina was the main character who had been kidnapped 5 years ago and thinks she is being followed by the man that did it. He is supposed to be dead, but she thinks she sees him. She flees the state and just keeps going until her car gives out. Her brother in law (Hollywood) calls his friend Knox to keep an eye on her and keep her safe. They are instantly attracted to each other, but Knox knows Hollywood will kick his butt if anything happens to her. His team finds out the information on who is following her and they get a plan in place.
The story had the right amount of action, romance and some hot sex. I enjoyed all of it.

Knox wants what the rest of the team has begun to find. Their other half, the one that completes them. But going out on missions for periods on end is a hard life. But he can’t help but want that for himself. Karina is the sister in law of Hollywood one of Knox’s military buddies. Hollywood asks for help in keeping Karina safe as she runs from her past. Hollywood can’t get there and Karina needs help now. Knox goes to find her and he is floored when he meets her. She is everything he has ever wanted in a woman. Their chemistry is of the charts. Can Knox keep her safe from the crazy that is chasing her? Read on to find out!

Knox is contacted by a friend he has worked with before to find and protect his sister-in-law. Karina was kidnapped years ago and is now on the run as her past seems to have caught up with her. She is reluctant to involve her family as she doesn't them to be harmed, so when Knox finds her she allows him to help. Their relationship evolves quickly, but Karina feels guilty involving Knox and his team in her problems, which leads her into more trouble. Will Knox and his team be able to save Karina before its too late.

This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. It is short story. I would recommend reading it.

Karina has been through hell and she survived she thought that her nightmare was over but when a ghost from her past resurfaces she knows her only option is to run. Knox gets a call from Hollywood a former special forces buddy who asks for his help protecting his sister in law so of course he says yes and rushes right in. Only to find a beautiful frightened woman who claims that she doesn't need my help but with danger tracking her there's no way Im leaving the woman who represents my future. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this engaging story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

The h was tstl from the start. #1 someone is coming after you, they want to use you to get to your sister and family so you run, but you refuse to tell them because of the danger ?!? If an ex con can hunt you down he can find your family, wouldn't it make sense to warn them since your brother in law is Special ops?

This book has cross over characters from Susan Stoker's series, kind of like the Happily Every Alpha World books with characters from Aurora Rose Reynolds Until books.

I've read (and enjoyed) some of S.S. books books but I haven't read a lot of them so I was a bit confused by the characters. I think it also was confusing because Hope Ford has multiple series set in Whiskey Run so she has a lot of characters too. Not a complaint, just an observation.

I thought that this was a great book. I really liked Karina and Knox together. The connection and chemistry between these to was awesome. I really enjoyed that this book was linked with Susan Stoker's book Rescuing Kassie and Karina get her own HEA. The action, suspense, steam, love, the determination of both Knox and Karina, gripping nature of this book and the really sweet and much deserved HEA was fantastic. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Hope as a wonderful author.
