Mystic Harbor #1

Power of Fate

Rate this book
My name is Ella Vance, and I’m not crazy.

Supernaturals are real.

No one believes me, especially my family who would rather lock me away for it.

Now I find myself in Mystic Harbor looking for a fresh start and that’s all in the past. This is my opportunity to find out who I am. No pretending to be the perfect daughter or worry about being committed for good.

Any hopes of flying under the radar are quickly dashed when I realize that I’ve caught the attention of quite a few residents, including the most eligible alphas Mystic Harbor has to offer and a few betas for good measure. Fate decided that mating an inexperienced omega with not one or two, but eight mates was just what I needed to help me find myself.

As I start collecting mates, magic I never knew I possessed starts surfacing. Of course, it’s as chaotic as my life and I have no clue how to control it. When my mates call for help it quickly becomes apparent that me being a witch is only the tip of the iceberg. However, even those secrets don’t help us solve the mystery of who and what I am.

Time is ticking, the town is in chaos, and my magic is only getting more tumultuous by the second.

Can we figure out what is going on in time or will my past come back to haunt more than just my dreams?

Mystic Harbor is a PNR omegaverse world featuring relatable characters, a crazy supernatural town, and lots of steam. This reverse harem series will include poly relationships.

The synopsis and the sweet omegaverse setting had sounded intriguing enough for me to pick up the book, but unfortunately the writing and the plot did not live up to my expectations.

The city of Mystic Harbor was great and interesting, but all the characters we were introduced to were very bland. The FMC Ella made friends and collected fated mates like trivial Pokemon, which she had mentioned multiple times on her own in the narration, too. Ella was a virgin and had apparently never been kissed before arriving in the city, and within days, she was mating and having full on intimacy with multiple mates repeatedly without any reservations. Additionally, collecting mates in the span of a single book was a bit much, especially when most of the men barely interacted with each other, were completely different species, and didn't work together. For books with a larger 4+ harem, I am usually introduced to everyone over the span of 3+ books rather than just one. There definitely was a lack of character development and superficial descriptions for all the characters, and the insta-love was over the top.

My other big issue was that the omegaverse feature was completely superfluous, and leaving it out entirely wouldn't have made a significance difference in plot. There was no real integration of the alpha-beta-omega social dynamic at all, other than using it as a descriptor for characters and the fact that alphas had . It is usually very uncommon to have an omega-omega pairing in a harem, but the occurrence of it happening for Ella barely took up a single sentence in the book.

Lastly, having distinct MM relationships between men in a reverse-harem without the participation of the F in the group is generally pretty off-putting to me. Not only was a fated mate MM couple , two of her collected mates later found out .

Honestly, it seemed like the authors just wanted to fit as many popular tropes for urban fantasy, reverse harems, and omegaverse in the story like bullet points rather than trying to write a cohesive novel. I wasn't very impressed by this book and have no plans on reading any future books in the series even though it ended on a terrible cliffhanger, and I also probably won't read anything else by the authors either.

I wanted to like this story and it had the potential to be good, but unfortunately it’s very flat. It’s a build-a-harem story with a total of 8 fated mates. And there just was not enough bandwidth on-page to cover character development, a heroine struggling with trauma, introducing a whole new literary universe, fitting in paranormal aspects and a non-paranormal ABO society that exists in parallel, relationship development, a tragic family backstory, and a plot.

The story jumps around, the relationships start and immediately jump into sex scenes (with an inexperienced FMC) and then the mates are basically forgotten while she moves on to someone new, plus adding in mate pairings between her mates when she’s barely even gotten to know them, and navigating her new powers which don’t really make sense.

There were also a few moments where she felt so clueless it was hard to read… like not realizing for DAYS that after she wrote a story about lawn ornaments coming to life and then seeing the lawn ornaments coming to life that she MIGHT have magic. And then after knowing that she has magic that affects stuff when she writes it down, she continues to…. Write down her biggest horrors. WHATTTTTT why. That felt so stupid to me.

Overall there is way too much going on in this story. Too many characters, too many plots, too much all around. And maybe not enough brains in the character’s heads 🤔

warp speed

It could have been good, but it went at warp speed, her emotions fluctuated from extreme to extreme just to suit where the author wanted to write next. Her trauma comes out as an overly dramatic plot device and then is immediately solved till the next time it’s needed. We don’t get to know any of the characters and once they’re mated, we’ll that’s it, onto the next one. It’s like the author had a list of points she wanted to touch on but no idea how to transition smoothly or how to develop those points either. Also, I’m getting real tired of the overly amazing, most gorgeous, most powerful, most strong, ditzy, cute but also serious and intelligent heroines. There’s no depth, there’s just this superficial idea of a person that everyone just loves except for the ‘most evil’

Not quite 2 & 1/2 stars.
The first 35% of the book was a really huge struggle for me to keep reading. The rest was just enough to hold my attention long enough to finish, only to reach a huge cliff-hanger ending. The book as a whole moved slowly, and had a ton of repetitiveness to it. I really don’t think I like an “Omega” universe story, it just felt too Stepford wife or too submissive or something. Also, ALL the relationships felt forced from the mate bond. I never felt chemistry, connection, or love between her & the 8 guys of her RH. The 2 bi-sexual couples felt awkward & definitely cobbled in as shock value as they were the ones I felt the least amount of connection between her & them. The character development was very light, I really didn’t feel anything (connection to the characters?) for any of them enough to care what happens in book 2. There were a lot of glaring mistakes (like her referring to Brook as her older brother, when he would actually be the younger brother) & plot holes that took away from the story. The story felt a bit simplistic over all. No, I won’t be continuing with the series, & I do regret using my time in reading this.

Power of Fate by Suki Williams & Jarica James

I Give this Book a 4/5 Star Rating.

Can I just say that if a map of Mystic Harbor is ever created I would love to see it! 😃

This is Omegaverse, if you don’t know what it is, please take the time to look it up before you judge this book. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s DEFINITELY Mine.
*Grins*

This is Definitely something to get used too, this is technically a sweetverse, a lite spectrum of omegaverse, I personally prefer dark omegaverses.

Loved all the suspense in the beginning as well throughout, it was exactly what I wanted to experience while reading. I didn’t know what was going on but it captivated me, Ella is also a stronger willed omega which is pretty cool ☺️

There are beta’s in the harem, every omegaverse & sweetverse out there has their own interpretation of how this type of universe goes. Beta’s are becoming more popular in joining reverse harems, so Beta’s being used in the romantic sense is still fairly new to me.

Because in other books Beta’s tend to be less caring and cold, so it was a switch that I had to adjust too cause Beta’s are the one that are not as consistent in similarity with each other through books like Alphas & Omegas tend to be.

Some Beta’s (in here) seem to have a more omega vibe or an overly alpha vibe which is a little confusing but it could be because they’re ‘Neutral or More Human Like’ so they could weigh a bit more heavily on one spectrum or the other but still be Beta.
I wish there was a diagram of sorts or an explanation of how this particular world views Alphas, Betas & Omegas. Near the front.

I did wish for a better explanation on just how Ella was actually able to identify certain ‘species’.

HEA or Cliffhanger(?): Cliffy! And a Pretty Good one!
Relationship Type: RH> Reverse Harem: MMMMFMMMM
M/M(?): Yes.
Insta(?): In the book there is an explanation which makes it more enjoyable to read knowing it’s not actually Insta-Love. Mystic Harbor makes the bonding/mate gathering more believable.

Pacing: a steady Mid-Fast pacing throughout.
Drama: 3.5/5
Suspense: 3.5-4/5
Dark(?): Not to me no.
Romance: 3-3.5/5, this is the first book after all, I don’t mind the heat being forward and the affection is growing but not necessarily immediate.

Heat Level: 4/5
Going into Heat(?): Does Occur.
Slick(?): Yes.
Knotting: Does Occur.
Nesting: Hints of cute kleptomania, but no nesting as of yet.
Purring: Is Mentioned but doesn’t come out intentionally or unintentionally, (so far)
Biting: More love bite-y nips.
Mate Marking(?): Yes!
Alpha Dominance and/or Aggression(?): No, but there is a description later as to why.
Omega Submissive Behavior(?): in regards to Alphas, it’s more like their on the same level, no instinctual eye dropping or submissive posturing.
Male Omega(?): Yes! 😍
MPreg(?): No, if there’s is further in the trilogy (now a duet), I will update this 🥰

Looking forward to Book 2! 🥰

I really enjoy the characters in this book.
They’re all so different and likable.
I just wish there was more balance between our time spent with them.
So far it’s mostly been Tanniv and Asra getting the limelight with little snippets of time spent with the others.

Suki and Jarica rocked our worlds with this omegaverse. This is the first book in a planned trilogy and it did an amazing job at setting us up with plot, characters, and world building.

They created an amazing world with plenty of imagery to allow us to feel like we are right there alongside the characters. What I also loved is how they infused this book with a PNR aspect in a unique way which provides a lot of the backstory to what our MFC went through.

Our book starts out with our MFC Elle escaping what we come to realize is a controlling and abusive situation. She has had a hard life controlled by her parents and their need to constantly commit her medically for things they didn’t understand. However, despite this Elle remains strong and kept to who she is, and I love Elle! She is quirky and awkward and just comes off as a very authentic character. Her lack of filter definitely gave me more than a few laughs. I fell for her almost instantly.

As Elle ends up in Mystic Falls we meet our harem members, and can I say that I’m jealous? I love them. Im in NH and very tempted to get in my car and head to ME. Not sure how my husband will feel about that, but we will get to that bump in the road at a later date.

I love all of Elles mates. Each one is unique in what they bring to the group dynamic and we get a range of supes and looks. We also get a couple of guys in an already established relationship that’s absolutely adorable. I do wish there was more POV from the guys perspective, but that’s because I’m greedy and enjoyed the few glimpses we got.

The spice in this book is fantastic, you get all the omegaverse things you could want in this book including knotting and I’m absolutely here for it. I cannot wait to see more spice and romance as this trilogy progresses.

This book does end on a cliffhanger but it adds to the mystery that surrounds elles life and definitely has you wanting to come back for more. I highly recommend this book if you’re a fan of or want to be introduced to a sweet side of the omegaverse world. Do not let a cliffhanger hold you back from jumping into this series. It’s totally worth it.

Enjoy your journey into mystic harbor today! ❤️ they have punny shop names, hot alphas, and mini jumper cables for all. 😘

Not sure on this

While I like the concept of this story, the whole mate's thing is bothering me. Some of them are in their own relationship, which isn't my issue, it's that Ella just seems to be their part time mate. Instead of including her, the one MM couple wants to keep living in the house they already have together and in that, she hasn't had any intimate moments with these two really. The other MM couple end up spending the night with each other, leaving her by herself. I'm not sure why that bugs me, but I guess because of how lonely she was before she came to Mystic Harbour, I would think they'd always want to include her. The other mates have also decided they'd rather stay in their own homes. I get needing space, but as big of a deal as fated mates are, I
would think they would prefer to live together most of the time, and maybe keep their other homes for when they need a break. It just seems like their relationship is based more on when they
want to have sex with her, then the rest of the time they want their own lives and the MM couples just want their own relationship with each other. Again, like she is a side fling/mate. There wasn't much growth in the relationships. I think this story had a lot of potential, but I also saw some errors where the authors repeated the same conversation in two chapters, like they forgot they literally just had that same thing in the previous chapter. It's when she's with sirens, after finding out she's mated to H and S.

I liked this??

I'll admit that there were four star parts to this book. I liked the mystery and the town's family dynamic. I did not love the relationships within the relationship. To me a reverse harem needs to revolve around a main character. In this story she bonds with two men who are already in a relationship (not my fav, but not a deal breaker) but then she discovers two more mates who then also discover each other. The thing that bothered me about this was that it no longer revolved around her. For ex. One night she was all alone because the two of them paired off. I'm sorry, but that feels more like cheating to me and is definitely not a "harem" at that point.

The more the merrier

A fun read where the heroine collects mates like it’s a new hobby. I enjoyed the storyline and how eager to experience life Ella was. The guys are really supportive and each has a distinct personality. I like their dynamic and how devoted they are.

That ending got me excited for the next book. And I liked that this one was on the lighter side of things. Good start to the series.

I was given an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. I was so intrigued by the story line! An omegaverse, a girl escaping her past who is drawn to a northeastern seaside town full of supernatural beings, fated mates.

Although there were some good moments, this just didn’t come through for me. The writing was a bit muddled, unclear and repetitious at times. There were odd plot holes. The characters had so much potential but felt flat and forced. And honestly, the word “slick” was used about 27 times too many.

Why did you read this book?
This was a reverse harem book with a decent rating.

What format did you read this book in?
Read it as an ebook on Kindle.

Is this an educational book or a book for entertainment?
I read this book for pure entertainment purposes.

What genres do you think this book belongs to?
Chick Lit, Contemporary, Fantasy, Gay and Lesbian, Paranormal, Psychology, Romance, Adult

What was your favorite part in the book?
I think my favorite parts of the story are how creativity the stores descriptions were in the town.

Who would you suggest this book to?
Anyone who likes a large amount of love interests, face paced story flow, paranormal, fantasy, and stories full of certain romantic troupes.

What is your general opinion/ rating of this book?
This book had potential, but it fell a bit flat. The biggest problem with this book was that the author tried to put too many love interests and not enough character development. It was hard for me to keep track of each love interest because despite them being different types of super naturals, most of their personalities were the same. I really wish the author would have taken the time to really flesh out the relationship between the main character and her love interests. They went from friendly to being intimate too quickly. Overall, the story could have been improved upon if the author would have extended its length and didn't try to cram so much information into one volume. I wanted to give this book a higher rating but unfortunately the story did not flow well with so many characters. Also, the cliche at the end of the book where the main character gets kidnapped killed the series for me.

Are there any cliché scenes or concepts? (If yes, does the author add something unique to them?)
The main character is adopted by an abusive family that are not her real parents. She is born special with special abilities. The love interests instantly fall in love with her after they've seen her once. Included are all the cliches of the omegaverse because the main character is in Omega. Main character is kidnapped at the end by the bad guys and the love interests must save her.

How intense are the intimacy scenes?
The intimacy scenes are detailed and intense. They also come about too quickly in my opinion. There are some male-on-male scenes. Mainly, MF, MFM.

At what “burn” level is the romance?
The burn level goes from cold to hot quickly and randomly throughout the book. So overall I would say it’s a medium burn.

Love interests, how many of them are there and what gender?
There are eight love interests, all men.
Leif- Mayor of Mystic harbor, Alpha, and Fae.
Drystan- Owner of Enchanted Mug, Elf? (Not explicitly told what he is.)
Tanniv- Harbormaster, Sea serpent/merman, Asta twin brother, Alpha.
Asta- Sea serpent/merman, Tanniv twin brother.
Hunter- Cop, Alpha, Bear shifter, Spencer’s Mate.
Spencer- Bartender, Beta, Griffin, Hunter’s mate.
Maddox- Alpha, librarian, gargoyle.
Reed- Childhood friend, Leif cousin, Fae.

Well...

More like 2.5 stars for me but because that's based off what could be my own issues I bumped it to 3. I say possible personal issues for me, because I hate it when people are left out. Whether that's just how I see it or the character is actually left out is up for debate and your own judgement! I am going to call the guys #1-8 based off when they bonded with Ella so I don't give any spoilers.
I prefer 4 of the 8 mates, 1,2,5, & 8. 3,4, and 6 are fine, but we just don't really get much time with them or a real relationship with Ella. 6 was added to this because of #7. Yes, I know its poly, and I have liked a lot of poly stories and relationships but for me to enjoy them they have to be equal relationships or at least we get to see the growth of them. This is where my dislike of people being left out comes into play, especially in regards to 7 & Ella. #7 actually says "Ella can wait" in what could have been a big and intimate moment for them. This seems to be how he sees her as a mate, she's secondary to everything else and it just makes me sad for her. She has so many mates but she seems to be very isolated. They all have lives, relationships, jobs, family without her and she either doesn't feel like she can be a part of that, is too insecure to join, or a number of other reasons. #7 seems to be all about (not Ella but not spoiling it) that they both seem to forget Ella exists. We don't get much time with #7 as he comes in late and then barely sees his new mate Ella that I just don't see why he was even included. I don't expect his attitude toward Ella to change either, he seems to only want (haha you thought I'd say it).

My other question with this ABO universe is how did some of these never know they were mates before???? They were friends or friendlies or whatever and they never touched in the many years they knew each other? With what we know about 2 people, this doesn't follow how mates work for Ella or others, so I'm a little lost there.

I couldn't be more excited about this series! If you're looking for an omegaverse featuring a super sweet fmc, a larger harem, and a side of diversified fated mates, this book is just what you've been waiting for. The fmc, Ella...I don't know how to put into words how likeable she is. She's completely adorable and is a breath of fresh air as she gets her first taste of freedom, experiencing almost a lot of things for the first time and truly appreciating the small town of Mystic Harbor. With her having such a traumatic, ostracizing past and being admitted to an asylum for speaking about the supernatural beings she can see, it was great to see Ella be able to be herself for once and not have to pretend to be something she isn't just to please those around her.

What I loved about Ella's group of mates was that they had such a variety to them. Different species and designations, different personalities, and even different ways in which they connected to Ella. Some connections were more abrupt and others dragged out a bit. It was fun to guess when each bond would be established and figuring out who all would be involved in Ella's harem. With fated mates not being common, it seemed that every guy that was bonded to Ella accepted her without hesitation. There was no opposition or hostility to her being linked to them. Everyone seemed to be incredibly open to the idea, even if they didn't expect it to happen. The connections felt comfortable and almost effortless for them to ease into, besides maybe one for reasons regarding her past. I was glad that there was no convincing needed and that no one hated the idea of being mated to her.

This whole book was such a pleasure to read, giving me plenty of laughs, but the ending was devastating. It makes me really look forward to the next book and everything that will happen with Ella and her group of guys. Is it all that smart to mess with someone who had eight mates to protect her? I'm not sure her original "family" is prepared for what they got themselves involved in and I can't wait to see how much they regret their actions.

A Variety Of Supes In An ABO World

I liked this book but sadly didn't love it.

What I Liked:
* The ABO concept being spread over all supernatural types. This was the first time I have read this particular element and I loved the possibilities.
* The large harem made up of different types of supernaturals. I always prefer bigger harems.
* Ella's magic. I don't want to spoil it but there was an aspect of her magic that I thought was a lot of fun to read about.

What I Didn't Like:
* The lack of character and relationship building. As much as I love big harems, it doesn't work if the characters aren't fleshed out and given sufficient page time. In regards to the relationships everything moved too fast and felt shallow. I didn't connect with any of them except Violet and Drystan.
* The nuances of the MM relationship that came later in the book. I prefer straight up RH books but they are almost impossible to find these days since a majority of RH readers love MM. I don't, not due to intolerance but because it can feel like the FMC isn't the priority. Strangely, already developed relationships don't often push my jealousy/insecurity buttons so I was OK with the first MM couple. The second pressed on all of my issues. This is, of course, a me thing though so probably wouldn't bother most readers.

Overall, I liked this enough to rate it 3*s but the second MM pairing who seem to be way more into each other than into Ella means I won't be reading the rest of the trilogy. Once again this is a me thing so I would encourage others to give it a read if the blurb interests you.

3.5

Pros:
-Neat world building. Love the Gilmore Girls but make it supernatural
-Surprisingly easy to differentiate the 8-guy harem
-Cute moments, esp. with Maddox <3
-Lots of supernatural variety. feels like Halloweentown
-side characters and friendships feel wholesome
-MM and bi representation! love it in a harem

Cons:
-Not sure I like combining omegaverse with supes with fated mates. Feels cluttered
-Mixed feelings on Ella. Is she too quirky to also be conditioned to hide/school her reactions? Also he absolute adoration of all things books gets repetitive.
-Smut, though present, lacks sufficient foreplay. With so many mates and a blatantly inexperienced Ella, everything feels rushed. Her omeganess is used almost as an excuse but I don't think it fits
-Ella has crazy powers and is a super special snowflake. Not my fav
-Kidnap cliffhanger... as always in this genre
-Grammar!!!! lord, how could this have had an editor and still have so many mistakes?

I will admit that I was getting a little bored. The harem is very sweet - all 8 of them. I'd like for there to be more drama, especially since we hinted at beef between the elf and fae. Overall, it's good.

Edit to add that I just realized this is Suki Williams. I definitely think Hard Limitshas a better developed writing style. I wonder if dark is more Williams' forte?

Ella's family decided long ago she was crazy. She learned not to speak about the supernatural creatures she saw for fear of being thrown back into the psych hospital that was nearly her second home. But it didn't matter. When she overheard plans to send her back to the hospital, she made her escape to a town she had only ever heard of, Mystic Harbor. Unknowingly, she has picked a magical town, home to a wide assortment of supernaturals. Here Ella will discover her history, her powers, find a family, and eight mates. But her past isn't finished with her yet.

This could have been a fantastic book. The elements are all there but they needed more development. The author got ambitious and forgot the details. Eight mates are a lot but if time had been given to each man, it would have worked. I do love the moon element. We needed to know each man, their background, their full personality, and watch their relationship with Ella grow. It's fine to be fated mates with a touch but it can't end there. This was more of an outline than a story. Meet, touch, on to the next. Repeat. There was so little depth, that it couldn't even be classified as instalove. I became concerned when she mated an established MM couple. Maybe fate has no idea what it's doing in this little town. The guys didn't go out of their way to spend time with Ella; some disappeared for chapters. Then when they all decided to continue living in their own houses, I went beyond concerned. Ella is on the outside of her own relationships. Maybe with the cliffhanger, things will change in book 2.

Omegaverses has been one of my favourite things to read for the year 2023. I just love them so much. This book was such a unique omegaverse and I flew through the duet in a couple of days. My Kindle was glued to my hands because I could not put this duet down until I finished it. This universe was so interesting and I wish there was more world-building because holy moly it was fascinating. I was just entranced by it, literally, the magic within the world put a spell on me. Ella and her men were so much fun and I love how she collected them over the course of the first book and into the first part of the second. It was unique and was like a breath of fresh air. It is not something I am used to when it comes to RH so it was a nice refresher. The plot of the book was intense and I never knew what to expect which kept me glued to the pages. I didn’t even want to sleep because it was that addicting. I really loved this duet and the only downside was I found that it skipped time a lot, which was unfortunate. I think having not skipped that many parts could have added more depth to the book and made them a bit longer. That’s literally the only downside but again it is just a minor thing. I think I just wanted more of these characters which I think is a huge compliment. I’m so happy that Suki Williams and Jarica James said that this universe is not done yet and that other characters in the universe will have their stories told which I’m so excited for. I loved every character in this duet and I can’t wait to see whose stories they decide to write, I have some ideas already on whose books they will write but I’m hoping for some surprises as well. I loved this duet so much and I cannot recommend it enough. If you like RH, cozy vibes, and magic then this duet is for you.

Magical story

*warning this review contains spoilers*
The story:⭐⭐⭐⭐
The heat:🔥🔥🔥

This book is as fun and magical as the cover suggests. I'm only familiar with one of the authors of this cowrite, and lets just say this is a much lighter story than Suki Williams usually writes! But no less creative and interesting.

Ella is a sweet FMC with a dark past she is on the run from. She's never had someone love her unconditionally until now, and has spent the majority of her life being locked away for "delusions" of seeing Supernaturals everywhere she looks. Ella vows she's not crazy, but her cruel parents disagreed.
When she escapes to the supernatural town of Mystic Harbor she finds everything she's been looking for, including proof that supernaturals exists, and unconditional love in the form of her harem of 8 mates. That's right, 8! These guys get more and more sweet (and hot) the farther you go! They are exactly what she needs.

I loved delving into the world of Mystic Harbor. This series gives Silver Springs vibes on steroids.

My only complaint is the A/B/O part of the storyline, there isn't enough of it used in the story! Throughout the book Ella is constantly classifying the people she encounters in one of 3 categories, but otherwise there just wasn't enough A/B/O added to the plot for my tastes. If it was removed, I'm not sure if it would have changed anything in the story.

This was such a sweet and lighthearted omegaverse, with touches of darkness from Ella’s past. This book was incredibly written, with a great building of the world, characters and story.

Ella ran away from a traumatic past and wanted to have a fresh start, where she ends up in a town full of supernaturals. This book takes a different spin of the omegaverse world with adding in supernaturals. She is supposedly a human, but has always seen and known about the supernaturals. She is such a complex character, and I absolutely adore her. She has had a hard and traumatic upbringing, and is trying to find herself with this new start. She is humorous, sweet, quirky and innocent.

In this small town, she ends up meeting her fated mates. They all have different personalities which really brings the story to life. We also get a couple of guys that have had already established a relationship with her before becoming mates, which was built off of friendship. With her mates, she is able to grow more as a person and start to heal from her past. And of course, the spice!

The past eventually catches up to her and there are more problems. This ended on a cliffhanger (UGHH) but it really adds to the mystery, and I have complete faith the authors will give us more to this story. I can’t wait for the next book, and I definitely recommend starting this series.

This series is gonna be EPIC!!!

Power of Fate is book 1 in the Mystic Harbor series and is a RH, omegaverse.

Ella ran away from her family that abuses her and has made her way to a place she can have a fresh start. She ends up in Mystic Harbor, a town full of the supernatural, and it ends up changing Ellas life.

In this small Oceanside town, Ella meets Violet, who becomes her close friend, and 8 smoking hot guys, who become her fated mates.

Even though she finds out she isnt human, and learns all kinds of things in this small town, Ella loves her life with her mates and her friends.

But, the past doesnt always stay in the past, and hers comes back and tries to ruin everything.

I love Ella. She is so funny, sweet and caring. There is so much more to her character and I cant wait to learn more about her.

The guys, ugh i love them all so much (even tho Leif and Dryston are my favs right now) . Each guy is so different and brings something to Ellas life that she needs. The guys help her heal and the spice in this one is HOT!!! A couple of the guys are in already established fated mates relationship, and 2 of her mates find out they are fated mates also.

The cliffhanger at the end of this book is killing me and I can't wait for more of Mystic Harbor! Suki and Jerica knocked it outta the park with this book and I know this series is gonna be EPIC!!!!

Ella is finally free from the family that only wanted her as long as she fit in their picture of the perfect little daughter. Determined to start living her own life, free from everyone who believes she's crazy, she travels to Mystic Harbor to start over. What she didn't expect though was finding a town filled with supernaturals, and a bunch of fated mates together with some powers of her own...

I really enjoyed this book. I liked Ella's personality: it's clear she has lived a sheltered life and I love her enjoyment in all the new things she's experiencing. Even though she has lived through some traumatic experiences, she didn't let that change the core of who she is. The fated mates trope is by far my favorite, and I really enjoyed watching all these connections happen. Yes, a lot of characters are introduced in this first book and character building for the men is low because of that, but I didn't really mind. I enjoyed their interactions, the differences between all of them and the way they tried to fit together for Ella's benefit. This was my first dip in the sweetverse genre, and I'm thinking maybe I should check out some others.

Lovely first book, I highly recommend it if you're a fan of the fated mates trope with a lot of mates! I absolutely pre-ordered the second book.

Ella has led a rough life, always seeing supernaturals but never being believed, so much so that her parents place her in an Asylum off and on for her whole life. It comes to the point where they are going to put her there permanently so she runs...to a small town in the north - Mystic Harbor. Everyone she sees is a supernatural but she tries to pretend that she doesn't see it but strange things begin happening around her and she starts meeting her Mates (she will have 8 in total). Eventually she breaks down from all the stress and lies she has been living with her whole life and her story comes out but she has found her mates and they will be there for her an protect her...UNTIL??? Yep, it ends on a cliff-hanger. Can't wait for the next book.

This book is steamy, hot fun! I enjoyed it a lot and enjoyed the world that Ella has fallen into. Loved that she led such a difficult life but maintains her happy spirit. Can't wait for the next book and more answers to the questions that came up as the book went on.

Each of her mates are unique and interesting and it will be fun to see their dynamic as a group grow.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This my very first Omegaverse & PNR read.....and lets just say that I am in love. Not just with the genre but with this book!! It is very different from what I usually read and have read, but it left a mark on me (punnnnn intended)! When I say that I started reading this book and didn't put it down till it was done, I MEAN IT!! As soon as it was bedtime, my head never hit my pillow and I never slept. I stayed up all night reading from start to finish! IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!
Ella runs away from her family to find peace and ends up with more than she would have imagined. She has eight hot af mates who make her feel more alive and happy than she has ever been. This book is not for everyone but it doesn't hurt to give it a chance. There is MM but not as much as you think. Power of Fate is book 1 of the trilogy. I am more than ready for book 2 and 3!! There is a cliffhanger that you will make you regret starting the trilogy without the other books being out yet, but...again.....IT IS WORTH IT!!! If you end up liking this book, check out the others books by the authors, they are 🔥🔥! 😈

Has a lot of M/M and fated mates between the men in the harem. Slight spoiler but in all honesty I was angry that the author didn’t warn the reader about the M/M in the blurb for the book. Vaguely stating that the series will include poly relationships did not indicate the presence of M/M content. The heroines harem is a poly relationship and so I took it as a warning to people that it was a reverse harem novel. I have no problem with M/M except in reverse harem where I think all of the attention should be on the heroine. I would never have started this series if I had known about it. I completed the book simply because I don’t dnf books but it was annoying to do so. It also seemed like a slow burn in the first couple of chapters and then it was sex constantly. It took away from the relationship bonds for me. Except for her sirens, the rest of the relationships felt pretty shallow to me. Maddox had a few cute moments but honestly I was unimpressed. I won’t lie, my rating was heavily influenced by the M/M throughout the book. It is a huge theme and I can see it continuing to be a huge theme throughout the remainder of the series. I will not be continuing the series.

This book has me in a reading slump! It is a lighthearted omegaverse with a few hints of darkness from the FMC’s past. Ella is a breath of fresh air and such an interesting character. While her circumstances are in the fantasy realm, when you get down to it she is going through what a lot of people have been through. Feeling like you don’t belong, feeling like everyone around you is lying to you, having people make decisions for you based on what they feel is right. It was so good to see her find her mates and really start to grow into herself. And of course, the heat is there too! We do love our spicy romances! This is the first book in a trilogy so there is a cliffhanger, but trust me….you need to read this! If sweet, over protective alpha’s; naïve, but strong female main characters; and side characters that steal the spot light in some scenes are your thing then this book is for you! There were times I was crying I was laughing so hard! I can’t wait to see where Suki and Jarica take us on this journey.

So I’m still fairly new to the omegaverse genre. I understand the dynamics and the designations so this was easy for me to understand. This was such a fun and light-hearted omegaverse story with just a small hint of the brokenness and darkness that lies beneath. It’s befitting of both authors to a tee. Btw the character development in this is **chef’s kiss**

Ella is such a complex character and I absolutely loved her. You want to raze the world for her. You want to stand beside her and cheer her on. You also look on with absolute envy as she goes around collecting mates like they’re rare baseball cards. Eight mates, girl? Eight?!?! She arrives in Mystic Harbor, desperate to start a new life after yet another stint in a mental institution. She can see through the supernatural glamour, something a mere human cannot do. But Ella is human, right?? Read the book to find out!

Even as she collects mates left and right, her past is slowly catching up to her! Because that ending? No, that’s not ok. How dare you, ladies? This is not tame!

3,5-4 ish stars
I got surprised at how much i enjoyed it, i did expect to like it cuz it´s Suki Williams that is one of the co authors. This is a sweet omegaverse with the guys protecting the heroine Elle and caring.
Mystic falls is where our fmc Elle ends up in, i loved how crazy hilarious the town was. I am thinking of the first town meeting, when chaos broke out. Elle was such a sweetie, she was always positive and caring. Very curious whenever she discovered something new since she has had a hard life growing up. Not seen any kindness almost in her childhood. It was nice to read from the guys PoV as well, which was great since there is 8 of them.
I liked the guys, they where each bringing something to Elle´s life. It´s hard to choose one who is your fave, cuz some of them we have not got to know them that much. Some of them came into the book kinda late. But i liked Drystan and the twins
The world building where great, i just want more of it.

holy fuck what a cliffhanger, not okay for my poor heart. I really need it right now!
