From the author of the critically acclaimed Time Box series comes the dramatic conclusion of a story that spans a century.

Two years after stealing portable time machines, the Lanes, a family from the present day, stop running and start living. They settle in the seaside town of Coronado, California, in 1963.

For Jordan, Laura, and Jeremy, the oldest children, the respite is a chance to nurture relationships, start families, and explore the country. It is an opportunity to put down roots.

For Ashley, the youngest, it is a chance to thrive. Now fourteen, she is ready to start high school, make friends, and make up for lost time. She finds popularity and more after a classmate nominates her for freshman homecoming princess.

Robert Devereaux could not care less. The deranged billionaire wants his time machines back and is willing to do anything to get them. He sends a hit man to the past, setting into motion a final confrontation between a hunter and his prey.

In CROWN CITY, the suspenseful finale of the Time Box saga, a defiant family finds romance, friendship, and danger as it navigates the final months of the Kennedy presidency.

I love reading time travel novels and this author knows how to research his material and provide a twisting tale that will engage and enlighten the reader.

This is the fifth and final book in the Time Box Series featuring the Lane family. This series really should be read in order to understand what happened in the past and how they ended up where they are in each novel.

The Lane family starts in the year 2020 in the first book and goes back in time to escape a maniacal boss and to protect the time travel boxes from being used in a devious way to change history. This band of five encounters many historical events and while the desire to change history is strong, they resist and let history play out the way it happened. Each book goes back and forth in time between the present and the current year the Lane's are inhabiting. In this last book, they are in 1963 and they are hoping this is the last time they will have to jump in time and hope to make a few minor changes to Robert Deveraux's life as a young boy that might change who he becomes in the present.

Each book that I have read in this series has been educational, as well as entertaining. I became invested in the Lane family and their desire to outrun Robert and the contract killer that was sent to take them out. What that killer didn't realize is that he was dealing with people from the past with no fear to protect what is theirs, and in this case, he has faced Jessie in several books and lost every time to her gun skills and the ability to recognize that she is only protecting her family.

I also watched the Lane children grow, mature, and fall in love. It was interesting to see how the people they met in the past adapted to the news that they were from the future. I also enjoyed watching Mary slowly "lose" her children to spouses. It has been an intense few years on the run and watching your children find love and want to establish roots has to be hard because that means she will soon be an "empty nester." Her last daughter, Ashley, is 14 and is definitely hitting those teenage years and wanting to spread her wings. That gives Mary something to focus on to keep her from doing anything she might regret.

The story wraps up this novel but there are a few questions that weren't answered for me regarding Robert and if some changes to his past affected him in the future. But of course, if it did, the Lane's wouldn't have gone on the run and had the experiences that they did in the past. Or would they have had this adventure?

Either way, this is a fantastic series and I highly recommend this series or any other book from this author especially if you like time travel novels. Oh, and I liked the nod to another series with the location mention! We give it 5 paws up.

I got to spend some time with friends over the last few days. The Lane family, at least that's what it feels like when I get to read one of Mr. Heldt's books. Crown City is the latest of his works and it represents a couple of significant milestones: First, it completes the five book series Time Box, Second, this is the twentieth book he has written. Consequently, the twentieth title I have read by him.

Frequent readers of Mr. Heldt's work will understand when I say that completing one of his series is a bittersweet experience. This author is adept at drawing readers into the story so well that the characters experiences feel like our own. I am sad that a particular story line concludes and then am intrigued by what may be coming next. Crown City is certainly a shining example of this ability.

Having read all of Heldt's work over the last several years, I have had the pleasure of watching his evolution as a story teller. On a personal note I have often been pleasantly surprised when stories or parts of stories are set in geographic areas familiar to me. I happen to live in the area parts of the Northwest Passage series is set, only four miles from the setting of one of the books. Crown City is set in Coronado California, near San Diego. I grew up in North San Diego County during the time frame of this book. Yeah, I know, so did a few million other people, but it's still cool.

As all the storylines converge and resolve, Crown City gives us family in flux, not unreasonable for a family that has been present for two presidential assassinations, the entry of the U.S. into WWII and having to adapt to several different American cultures based on the different time periods they visit.

As is the case with the rest of the series, Crown City focuses mostly one one family member. Others are not ignored by any stretch but in this case fourteen-year-old Ashley is given center stage. Heldt does an admirable job of portraying teen-angst and youthful rebellion. Ashley is a well developed real character, as are all of his characters. She has strengths and weaknesses and some of those weaknesses cause real problems.

The focus of the whole series has been the Lane family's trek through time trying avoid the contract killer pursuing them to kill the family and retrieve the time boxes they absconded with to prevent an unscrupulous ceo from using for illicit purposes. This is where I see the growth of Mr. Heldt's talent, The Time Box series was to my mind darker and more violent than his other work. Not overly dark or extremely graphicly violent by any means. I still walk away feeling good, but we do see a new side of Mr. Heldt's repertoire, demonstrating his ability to avoid falling into formulae, keeping his work new and fresh.

Readers of my reviews know I don't spend a lot of time rehashing the storyline in my reviews. I leave that to other reviewers. I try instead to focus on what about the writing moved or didn't move me. Hopefully some readers find this approach helpful. I find that dialogue is often a weak spot for some authors. Not so for John Heldt, he is great at using dialogue to set a tone and evoke a response in the reader. With just a few lines he can make the reader feel warm and fuzzy, agitated, frustrated, fearful, heartbroken or elated.

Crown City is worthy of your time. It is a well told story part of a master-crafted series. John Heldt continues to provide solid entertainment that relies on a well told story over the literary crutches used by other authors (Foul language, graphic sex and violence, dysfunctional/disrespectful families). His stories are tight and uplifting and I recommend them highly. If you haven't yet had the pleasure of reading his work, do yourself a favor and give his work a look, you won't be disappointed! Enjoy!

Oh yeah, five stars for sure!

I just finished the final chapter of the Lane family saga. The finish was bitter sweet. I wanted to see what happens to the Lanes, but I didn't want it to end. The book was great and brought closure to all family members. This is just another great series from John. Looking forward to the next series of novels.

John Heldt – Time Box Bk 5 – Crown City – Reviewed 11/28/21 – Read 11/20-21/21

The end is close, Silas is still out there, Randy has set things up for the fall, and life goes on!

Two years have passed, and the family has grown with marriage and children. They have traveled from 2023 to 1865, 1893, 1927, 1941, and now 1963, looking for a way to thwart Robert Devereaux in stopping all of his criminal activities and from him or more to the point, his killer, Silas, catching and killing them. Now they have all decided that this is the time to make a stand and possibly change young Robert’s life. Randy and Mark with the blessing from the family, design a plan to meet with the FBI and turn over the evidence that they have gathered to stop Devereaux from any more attempts to use the time boxes to change the future or the past.

Laura and Randy devise a plan to change the life of young Robert by saving his family from being killed and his being placed in an orphanage. Ashley is starting high school with the hopes of graduating from this school. Jordan, Laura, Jeremy, and Randy also embark on a journey across the country to explore and work on their relationships. All is going well, UNTIL IT DOESN’T, and the story begins.

Join the Lanes and their extended family as they work on being safe, finding a home, and settling down, plus stopping Robert Devereaux with his devious plans…

What did I like? As with all of the other books that John has written the excitement levels are off the charts. The desperation and race against being captured keep everyone on their toes. In addition, we watch the family expand over the five books with marriages and children. All of this gives us another exceptional series that we hate to see come to an end!!!

What will you like? Humor, romance, danger, intrigue, action, unexpected derailments, and human life. The characters have that very real quality to them, like they could be that family next door, that just happens to have dropped in from the future. The storyline is crafted with tons of details and descriptions to bring it to life so that we can move to the edge of our chairs. Now don’t forget to breathe once in a while. It will be certainly hard to put this down as we know that once John gets started it will take us to new heights of excitement, and of course, there will be an unexpected reaction at or near the end of every book. For goodness sake, don’t miss adding the final book in the Time Box series, with John Heldt’s “Crown City” which is available NOW!!!

The finale has arrived.
This time the Lanes and Robert Devereaux and his deranged inner circle all see this saga come to a head.
Go back to your high school years, those days as a freshman when all you wanted was to find a way to fit in – if you are a young lady, you wanted the attention of the older boys and the popularity that would certainly follow if you managed to get the attention of especially the star of the football team. If you are a young man that desire to be the star of the team and catch the eye of that primo girl who rules the roost is all you are looking for. So to go back to those days with Ashley during the 1963-1964 school year is definitely nostalgic. The simplicity and defiance that comes when one is an impressionable young woman is definitely a journey that we all have taken and to read it from her perspective was just right – simplistic – and yeah the word I am looking for is nostalgic.
To spend more time with Laura, Randy, Jeremy and Sarah (?) and see how they view America in the 1960s took the reader on a journey that equates to that of Forrest Gump, again the simple time and simple ways in which Americans enjoyed life pre smartphones. We see these relationships develop and become more concrete as each party learns to lean on their partner for the support and laughter that comes from a long-term relationship.
The whole Lane family comes together to finally put Devereaux and his clonies in their place and the finale definitely does not disappoint. The only area I was lacking in was a smooth wrap-up to tell how the family as a whole survives and maybe even thrives starting in 1963 and moving forward. What happens to each member of the family? Do they all remain in California? Or do they move on. What happened with Craig Henderson, his wife and daughter? May many questions and not a lot of answers. I think a good epilogue would have been perfect the try and close out this story we have followed so diligently.

I sure hate to see this series end

The final book in the Time Box series. I love every one of Mr. Heldt’s time travel books. All of the series. I have always liked time travel but most of them go back to the crusades or over to Ireland and I got tired of the same old stories. Mr. Heldt had an entire family to travel with him and there was a lot of adventure, love, including family love, and also sadness. The only negative thing I could even say about Mr. Hill’s writings is that sometimes the conversations are a little simple as though it was meant for a young adult. But the storyline is so wonderful I let that slide and I’m still giving it five stars. Absolutely no sex, innuendos, or bad language. Just a story about very good people and very bad people. I loved all of the books.

My Thoughts

For me the ending of a series is exciting but also bittersweet because have to say goodbye to characters have grown attached to through the course of all their stories.

I first read the book synopsis when author posted it on Facebook to let fans know it had been released on day after Thanksgiving and it immediately gave me multiple chill bumps of anticipation!

To be quite truthful this books content was a totally unique storytelling experience when compared to last 4 reads in many ways.

The way we caught up with each family member was gratifyingly portrayed as was each new life event for the Lanes as a unit.

The story also truthfully tied up quite a bit of previous plot points but it also started one that really intrigued me concerning young Robert Devereaux and the Lanes. A plot point I would really love to have had explored further, perhaps in a future novel if we are lucky.

As expected the Lanes took things to their fullest advantage in the town of 1963 Crown City and getting to share what takes place with them was very satisfying from start to finish.

I once again read a much anticipated book way too fast.

Also have to say the chill bumps the books description gave me were justified many times over.

Upon finishing the Lane families last adventure was tempted to start reading it all over again!

Two years after stealing the portable time machines from his deranged billionaire business partner Robert Devereaux the Lane family have arrived in 1963 and they have settled in Coronado in California. The three oldest children (Jordan, Jeremy and Laura) have some respite so that they can nurture their own relationships and start their families while putting down roots. The youngest Askley can thrive and be a typical fourteen-year-old for the time in high school. While there she finds popularity and romance after a classmate nominates her for freshman homecoming princess. Mark Lane's old business partner is still determined to get the time machines back and has sent hit man Silas Baines after the family. Can the family survive what is likely to prove the final confrontation and will Randy's careful preparation to sink Robert finally come to fruition?

I found it bittersweet to read this final instalment of the time box series. It was wonderful to once again read all about the family and their exploits (this time in 1963 around the time of the Kennedy assassination) and to finally get a conclusion to the multi historic year hunt for the family and the determination of hitman Silas Baines. Although they appeared to have tied up all the loose ends I do now wonder if any of them had to serve in Vietnam, what happened to Ashley - did she get to college, what did she study, did she end up with their neighbour for example. However, I did love the way that Robert and Silas were handled and their demise. Well written so that everything eas clear and easy to understand plus I felt as if I was living it. I love the way that this author meticulously researches each time that the series is set and I'm sure anyone who actually lived through 1963 would be able to relate to this book very well. I think you could read this stand-alone but really would get the best enjoyment if you read the series from the start.

I love time travel books especially those with history. John Heldt is an author who always delivers. This one in particular had me reading non stop since I actually lived through most of what occurs in this novel. I was 10 in 1960 and 19 in 1969--it was certainly an interesting era!! So much was changing and happened within those years.

This is the last of the Time Box series and I am sorry to see it go. I am sure that this author has another one coming and I will be sure to read it! There are no loose ends--well maybe one or two. But then history is ever changing-but at least this family had a happily ever after!

If you have never read a novel by this author (and there are quite a few) I suggest you go get one now--In my opinion you will be hooked!!

Enjoyed all the families characters. Heldt shows that Silas Bain is a ruthless rogue, and it wouldn’t be far for him to steal a Time Machine and make his own fortune, instead of chasing leads to track down the Lanes. He has him totally motivated by money. I really like the ending of this book—it is due justice. 5

The Lanes land at Crown City aka Coronado in California. The year is 1963, if you have been following the book, you would know roughly what that means.
From Martin Luther King Jr to baseball, there is something for everyone in the family. Even Ashley finds a new life and social standing in Coronado.
I am frankly surprised, maybe because I am so used to stories being you-or-me scenario, that what John Heldt the author's done is unique. This is probably the best way to end the Time Box Series, where everyone gets a happy ending. At least I hope everyone has a happy ending.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Crown City by John A. Heldt is a rollercoaster of emotion as we lean to the ending of a great series.
Will the Lanes stop a madman and find a good time to live in?
The Lanes
The Lanes are a family that just keeps on growing in every book that we meet them in. Jordan and Jessie have a wonderful daughter, and they want to settle down someplace to raise their growing family. Laura has Randy and the baby she got from Teddy in Sea Spray. Jeremy has Sarah, and they are wanting to enjoy their lives together in a new time wherever the family decides to settle. Then there is Ashley, and she just wants to have the stability to enjoy life as a teenager and go to one school. The Lanes family has decided to make their home in 1963 for the time being since who knows what they will do once they take down Robert Deveraux. I loved spending time with this family and seeing them all get their happy endings as they've wanted since the first book.
Crown City CRThe Story
The Lanes and Randy Taylor made a plan in 1941 in Ohau, Hawaii, to destroy Robert Deveraux's company in the future and to change his past. Now they just have to implement the plans to ensure that everything will work out fine for these families. This installment gave me so many emotions while going through it, from 1963 with the Lanes and Randy to 2023 with Robert Deveraux and someone else at Janus Enterprises.

I wanted the story to have some happy endings. But also for the past to catch up with the present. Mr. Heldt has never, at least for me, not succeeded in tying all the loose ends in a story.
Five Stars
Crown City by John A. Heldt has left me feeling a bit off about how he tried to implement what happened in the past to the present. The only thing that changed was when Anthony Janson lost his fortune by one butterfly moment in the past. It took me out of the story when Anthony still remembered having wealth, and he doesn't remember living a life without money. How could that happen? I also hoped that what happened with little Bobby Deveraux actually affected the older one in the present time. I guess those are the only things I would have to say that Mr. Heldt left me hanging about. Although, I will say that I loved the complete story and am looking forward to his next book, which starts a new series.

My rating for Crown City by John A. Heldt is five stars, and I recommend it to everyone who loves a good time travel historical romance book. Any book by Mr. Heldt that I have read hasn't let me down yet!

Crown City is the fifth and final instalment in the Time Box Series following the Lane family as they try to outwit their nemesis, Robert Devereaux. Will they be able to think about settling down in a time of their choosing, or has Devereaux got a final ace up his sleeve?...

This conclusive outing for the now very much extended Lane family has the last half of 1963 in California as the backdrop, with the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the storm-clouds of Vietnam looming. As ever, it’s incredibly well-realized, little period details and nuances that lend a gentle, faded 60s vibe to the narrative without it being exaggerated.

This book is far more character-driven than the previous. It’s almost as if Heldt wants to really strip back the Lanes to show the reader who each really are, and what they are capable of. He has always been as pains to ensure the individuality of each family member (and supporting characters) shines through in all of their travels, but it has always been how every era has affected them in its differing ways, causing them to improvise and adapt.

However, with Crown City, there is a sense of introspection – not so much how the context influences their behavior, but how the Lanes are conditioning the world around them. There are some lovely little vignettes in this regard; Randy at the lemonade stall was a really poignant, thoughtful scene.

In the first book, Mark and Mary Lane were the foundation and framework of the family and, in subsequent forays, the foreground has been given to their children but in Crown City they return very much as cornerstones to finish what they essentially began. But it’s clear there has been an evolution within them; they are fundamentally the same, but very much shaped by events - as they should be.

Unsurprisingly, given the emotional focus, points of conflict begin to emerge between the family which personally was a good call, they are, on the whole, a very close-knit tribe and the injection of internal drama as opposed to external was a bright, realistic tactic, adding another layer of absorption to an already gripping plot.

Heldt’s plot guarantees page-turning and nail-biting. He capably sets up a number of suspenseful strands with any manner of possible outcomes and throws a few curve-balls in for good measure. Always credible, and as the reader is fairly hurtled towards the conclusion, I still was not too sure how the ending would play out making Crown City a compulsive read.

A new character is introduced, Craig Henderson, who becomes fairly central to the denouement. He could have been a Randy replica but Heldt develops him with subtlety so he is his own man with his own story. Silas Bain is back and I think his resolution was fitting one. The emotion (albeit only towards himself) that briefly appears in Book 4 also returns, causing the reader to wonder whether he will see Devereaux’s instructions through or not.

Ashley, the youngest member of the immediate Lanes at fourteen, had begun to flex her teenage muscles in Book 4 but she really begins to push boundaries in Book 5. For part of the novel, there is a side-narrative involving her, and I really enjoyed it. It made for a nicely contrasting coming of age story that also cleverly reinforced the early 1960s by reference to teenagers’ music, clothing, and behavior.

It must be a little tricky to keep up with the evolving Lane cast and their histories but Heldt manages it. They all have a part to play and he skillfully weaves what is now not unsubstantial backstory through dialogue and observation. Occasionally, I felt Sarah was a little lost and underutilized but her and Jeremy’s foray to Las Vegas was a fun touch and brought them back into the fray.

Crown City provides an intelligent, thrilling, and highly enjoyable conclusion to an excellent series; with the Time Box novels, John A. Heldt has proved beyond doubt that he is an expert storyteller and a masterful writer – highly recommended.

CROWN CITY is the fifth and final instalment in John A Heldt’s adult TIME BOX time travel series focusing on the Lane family-Mark and Mary, and their children Jordan, Jeremy, Laura and Ashley. CROWN CITY should not be read as a stand alone-I recommend reading the series in order as their is an ongoing premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: Having created two time machines in 2021 known as the Time Boxes, patriarch Mark Lane discovers that his business partner, billionaire Robert Devereaux, wants to use the Time Boxes for questionable purposes. Having prepared for weeks, Mark Lane and his family pull up roots, and send themselves, along with the Time Boxes, back in time. Robert Devereaux desperate to retrieve the time boxes, and punish his one-time partner, hires a modern day assassin who goes on a time travel hunt for Mark Lane and his family.

Told from several third person perspectives CROWN CITY finds the Lane family travelling to 1963 in the months prior to and after the assassination of John F Kennedy. 1963 beckoned Mark and Mary Lane and their growing family but the constant jumping through time was beginning to take its’ toll on the youngest child Ashley. As Ashley started high school for the very first time, the soon to be fifteen year old needed more freedom than the family would accord, and in this , Ashley was about to bring trouble to the Lane’s front door.

Meanwhile, Randy Taylor, Mark’s one-time mentee, had proclaimed his love for Mark’s daughter Laura, and in this, Randy will begin a deliberate take down of Robert Devereaux, by travelling to the future. Setting a plan into motion, Randy will ensure the safety of the family he has grown to love but trouble continues to follow in the form of a hired assassin who refuses to back down.

CROWN CITY follows the Lane children as they come into their own-falling in love, starting families, venturing further without their time-travelling parents. As one couple struggle to prevent the death of someone else, everyone must come to terms to a decision that will affect them all, going forward.

CROWN CITY is a story family and friendships, relationships and love: a story of betrayal and vengeance, acceptance and moving forward. John A Heldt pulls the reader into another multi-faceted story that tentatively looks at a factionalized account of historical events, events that our family must regrettably ignore. The premise is detailed and complex, engaging and captivating-a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful series.

Having read - and loved - two other of John A Heldt's series, The Carson Chronicles and An American journey, which I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend, I read three of this series of five about the Lane family and was distracted by a complete change of subject and direction. However, I had to complete this series and find out what happened to Mark Lane, an acclaimed physicist who, with the finance provided by his business partner invented a Time Box that could transport people and objects within range to anywhere in the past, and back to the future. Mark realises his partner has evil intentions for the use of the time boxes. He destroys everything he can at the company and disappears, with the help of the first of his inventions, into the past with his wife, two sons and two daughters. The furious evil genius millionaire hires a hit man to travel to the past to find and kill all of the Lanes, but they don't count on the ingenuity of the family - and the help they get from Mark's prodigy and colleague, left in 2022 to sabotage the remaining and new machines. the ruthless mercenary is obliged to chase the family through time.
In this, the end of the story, the Lanes are no longer running but are taking a more proactive approach to the future. Randy, the saboteur left behind, is finally free to join the family he loves in the past and pursue daughter Laura Lane, but not before completing his final act of betrayal of the man and his lieutenants who would use the time boxes to wreak havoc with their criminal intentions. The lives and family dynamics of the Lanes is as interesting as the wider story. This last book provides a satisfying end to an often exciting, sometimes stressful and sometimes happy story. The series must be read in order. I recommend the series to anyone who enjoys time travel with thrills disappointments and laughter in equal measure

And so ends my twentieth John Heldt novel!

This one took me significantly longer to get through than most. I was reading a pack of books and life got in the way, but I just wanted to acknowledge that for posterity.

This was also the highest ranking I’ve ever given one of Mr. Heldt’s novels. Up to this point, The House on Mercier Street sticks out as one of my favorites, but I’ve struggled at times with misogynist characters not acknowledged to be misogynists and a bit of narrative disconnect - characters tend to sound alike dialogue-wise no matter who they are. Mr. Heldt prefers particular phrases, such as “Tell me….” inevitably followed by “Okay, I’ll tell you…” “Lapped it up” appeared at least ten times.

So what gives this time? I’m in a good mood, and we seemed to have broken the mold for a bit. We had fewer staff meetings amongst siblings, more arguments and fights that weren’t over one family member being a jackass but the storyline treating it as totally normal, and that’s a good thing. Mothers and daughters fought, best friends had fights over legitimate issues and women were allowed to be strong beyond the confines of “Oh, his wife runs his household,” which we got a bit too much of in previous books. The Lanes felt like people.

No spoilers, but I was happy with the ending and look forward to the next series very much. I’m going to admit I can’t understand why the Lanes could screw up Robert’s finances in one book but be disconnected from his time stream in the next, but I’m not asking questions. Bring on the fountain of youth!

Brilliant story.

What a magnificent story in Crown City by John Heldt. I am a definite fan of this author! Whatever this author writes, I read. This author brings the story to life. This is the conclusion of the Time Box series, which was all about time travelling, hiding, and drama. The Lane family travels back in time, and sometimes, finds an era to stay in. This book spans a century, of drama, secrets, survival, and trying to figure out how to live, what time to live in, and to finally stop hiding. There is a need to settle down, somewhere where they would fit in. The Lanes children, are growing, and want to live a "normal" life or explore more. The characters had a lot of depth, and were very realistic. This author has a great imagination and I'm glad it's being shared with stories. The story brings in the believable, even if almost impossible. It’s one of those embraceable stories. It’s definitely un-put-downable! It is always an honor to read this author's books. Both thrilling and intriguing, all the way to the end. I hope to read more books by this author. Crown City is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.

In the last book of the Time Box series, the Lanes have landed in 1963. In sunny California, the Lanes could almost rest easy if they didn't have a madman intent on taking them out. They're worried Robert will send Silas after them yet again. They can't rest until they take down Robert and Janus Enterprises once and for all.

This book felt different to me than the previous books. Ashley dominated many of the chapters, and, unfortunately, I didn't much care for her teenage drama or her chapters. It made the book fluctuate towards YA, which put it at odds with itself. However, outside of Ashley's chapters, I enjoyed the book and the resolution of the series immensely. This has been a long, tense, and enjoyable road with an author who does an impressive amount of research before putting pen to page. Nicely done.

Wonderful ending to a great series!

This book had a great ending for a five book series! Mr. Heldt brings his characters to life and also gives atmosphere and authenticity to the timeline he writes about. His books are clean and realistic. I would recommend his books to anyone who likes time travel stories and good clean Christian writing. Please keep writing great books like this Mr. Heldt!

This was not the best of the five book series, mainly because it left a couple threads unraveled. Is there a spin off or book #6 in the works? My opinion is book #4 was the best of the series, but I was hooked through all 5 books. Great books and a fun trip through the past and the events that have shaped our history.

This journey concludes

where would you settle if you could pick any when? Ashley was my age in 1964, and I thought it was almost the best of times. I did wish to be a couple of years older by the end of the decade, but adapted. the Beatles did help us all recover. I loved the end.

Excellent

The fifth book in the series is nicely moulded into a happy ending. The evil ends and lanes get their peace of mind. Mother daughter relationship especially handling a teenage girl is superbly written. Excellent and a must read.

Crown City (Time Box Book 5)

A fitting end to this series. The bond of family, as they each find their own place in society, the descriptive scenery and the unexpected ending make for a great read. Happy reading! Highly recommend!

Crown City book 5

The Lanes are tired of running with the time box. They settled in 1963 from 2021. They even had a way to get rid of the madman that was after them. The evil head man from the future is now learning to live with love.

What a finish! Too bad it's over.

Enjoyed all five books. Great premise and plot. The storyline flowed seamlessly throughout. Writing is perfect and the author kept you wanting more. I've downloaded other books from this author and hoping for more great reading.
