"There is no need to fear, if there’s but one choice to be made."
In a dystopic world of genetically modified Descendants, where teleportations are controlled by sophisticated AI, Humans are detained on a prison planet for reasons more sinister than mere punishment. I live in Switzerland next to the Zürich Lake. I am married, have two beautiful boys, two cats and a dog. In my previous (pre-author) life, I was a neuroscientist, a marketing manager and an entrepreneur. Now, my work is my passion: writing. I hope you will enjoy the world of my imagination.
The final installment in this trilogy starts shortly after the cliffhanger/hook ending of the second book. Dora has discovered many truths about the descendants, and this leads to a daring plan to rescue the last of the humans. A dangerous plan that might just put Dora in danger of losing her life…
This book beautifully wraps up the story, cleverly bringing together some of those loose ends throughout the previous books, into a lovely, cohesive whole. Lots of questions are answered, and the story itself brings Dora and J’s tale to an emotional, and satisfying ending.
An excellent sci-fi story, that fans of the genre will enjoy!
The third book in a trilogy that grips and entices the reader forward throughout, from the complex opening events to the surprising, breathless finish. Full of fast-paced action and innovative concepts, 'The Vision' reveals answers to many questions raised earlier along the way while building yet more events, relationships, and characters as it brings the intriguing story of this journey of humanity to its unexpected conclusion. A crackling, good SciFi read.
This trilogy is so much more than an epic cross-universe love story. It is a re-examination of humanity. I was totally captured by Dora's story and her growth through her experiences, but I also enjoyed geeking out over the social structures and tech... Reading tip: read the books in order, but it's worth a quick read of the glossary at the back if you'd like to get your head around the Descendant species and their specialities.
Tara Jade Brown's Descendants of Earth series is one of the few speculative fiction books dealing with the annihilation of Earth that has a spectacularly positive ending.
So much content is covered in this last book that I'd just do it a disservice trying to summarize the story. My heart was captured in joy and broken so many times, I'm exhausted.
This is one of the finest Science Fiction series I've read in years. I will deeply miss the characters, I've come to love them. The ending was unexpected and glorious but I'm not ready to go. Highly recommended!
