I will no longer be writing in the gay romance genre. This decision is several years in the making, and something that has been on my mind for a while. The only reason I’ve not made this decision sooner is because of the wonderful readers; I wanted to finish both my series for all of you. But I cannot do so; it has become pure torture and has kept me from writing anything. I never intended to only write in the genre, but things took off and it was hard to pull away. It seemed every time I tried to write something different, an editor, or a publisher, etc. quashed the idea. Now the call is completely mine, and I’ve decided to branch out and write what is in my heart. Essentially, I’m being called elsewhere and will be writing in the genres I enjoy reading: historical romance, romantic suspense, and cozy mysteries. I wish those of you who read only gay romance a fond farewell and hope you will continue to enjoy my existing stories. To those that enjoy other genres, hopefully I’ll be entertaining some of you again with different adventures and exciting new characters.

Thank you for the memories,

J.L. Langley

JL has been talking since she was about seven months old. To those who know her it comes as no surprise, in fact, most will tell you she hasn’t shut up since. At eighteen months, she was speaking in full sentences. Imagine if you will the surprise of her admirers when they complimented her mother on “what a cute little boy” she had and received a fierce glare from said little boy and a very loud correction of “I’m a girl!” Oddly enough, JL still finds herself saying that exact phrase thirty-some-odd years later.

Along with the motormouth, JL also displayed a very vivid imagination and artistic ability. The artist first surfaced in way of drawing and painting, then became more apparent with dance. JL was a member of the National Art Honor Society in high school and has won several regional and national titles in dance, specifically tap and jazz. In college she majored in Graphic Art, but chose to make dance her profession. She taught tap, jazz and ballet for fifteen years before settling into her career as a writer.

Today JL is a full-time writer, with over ten novels to her credit. Among her hobbies she includes reading, practicing her marksmanship (she happens to be a great shot), gardening, working out (although she despises cardio), searching for the perfect chocolate dessert (so far as she can tell ALL chocolate is perfect, but it requires more research) and arguing with her husband over who the air compressor and nail gun really belongs to (they belong to JL, although she might be willing to trade him for his new chainsaw).

She also writes under the name Jeigh Lynn

I wish good luck to the writer, hope she finds good meds for her bipolarity.
I'm outta here. Can't believe I let myself get dragged for so long by that weirdo.

Peace and love guys

She says it’s been torture for her…NO, what she has done to us readers has been nothing less than pure torture and then some…the many times I’ve went to her website looking for nonexistent or no updated news on this book as well as the many LIES of push backed deadlines and dates of pending releases…GIRL BYE & GOOD RIDDANCE…the most acclaimed you’ve ever received was from this genre…I always paid for my books because I wanted to support her & her literature just to make sure she was getting paid for what she wrote so she could put out other books…so go on to the failing, mediocrity of the other genres under your pen name…I can’t give loyalty to an author that has none for her readers/fans that has been with her and loved her writings…I’m not saying she owes us her life but she at least owes us what she has been promising us for YEARS…if she’s not going to publish the book, then at least upload the book on epdf so that we can read the book we have been waiting on…make it a farewell gift…doing that would at least make me feel that you care for those who have been waiting for this book for so long…if you can’t deliver on this then you are just a horrible author with no love or loyalty for the fans you wish to follow you into you new genre and writings…I’m done (less)

Really beyond disappointed to just see this update. Been waiting for years for this book to be released just to not have it finished in the end. I think it is beyond unprofessional to string followers along that support your work, saying you're getting close to finishing and updates just to not finish and publish the book in the end. I would have never bother to read anything from this author or purchase her books if I had know this prior.

This gives me trust issues with all authors. For years on her website it was being updated, she even bought out another With/Without book on this series on a another random couple in the book but couldn't finish the Sterling/Rhys book. Good luck on your history books, let's hope you are more loyal to those readers and don't walk away from those readers with a insulting good bye.

I agree with everything all of you have said. It is a shame that she left us all hanging like she did. How many times did she say it was completed only to change the date. How many times did she have a family emergency or something and disappear for months only to be received back into our world with open arms. Evidently she isn’t a very nice person and only cares for herself or she never would have done her loyal and faithful
readers like this. I’m sorry but I can’t and don’t wish her good luck in her writings for the future. This series was the best she had. Maybe all of us readers could get together and create our own Sterling story. I’m sure it would be better than anything she writes in the future.

I appreciate your honesty.

It would have been even better if you had come to the conclusion sooner instead of giving false hope, but I also understand that life and passions change and its better to make the hard decisions rather than creating something your heart isn't in. I wish you the very best in your future writing :)
