Jonahmae Pacala (publishing as Jonaxx) was never fond of reading longnovels during her elementary years but found a deep connection with sshort sad stories. She discovered her flair for writing at the early age of ten. What was once a hobby has now grown into a passion for writing online.
Since Scorching Love, I had been anticipating their book. I've been reading stuff that compares my man to the most uninteresting, bland man to mankind but here we are, a Riego/Galvez closing the CLS world. I don't know why people are so convinced that they won't end up together when the author hasn't written any tragic stories between the main characters (except for Hades/Felicia, who won't grow old and gray together, as we were previously informed in SOT) and Achilles is the main character in this book (which Jonaxx had been hinting a LOT). Cresia's book is a great example of this, but the author loves to tease her readers.
Back to my review, this book is so beautiful and raw. I've never read a book about two lovers who finally ended up together in their 40s/50s. To be completely honest, I was one of those people who just wanted their closure, but after reading the ending, I couldn't help but agree that they were destined to be together. If it weren't for misunderstandings and poor communication, they would actually get married. It's just the way things are. They shared the same orbit, no matter how different their social status is. I also like how this book shows that love does require forgiveness and patience. And if the love between the two of you is real, it will eventually come back.
One thing I've realize after finishing this is 'I should've gave Maria Emilia the benefit of the doubt'.
There's no denying that she was one of the most hated characters of the series and I'm guilty for that fact as well. I think Jonaxx made us perceive her that way anyway, although her side of the story is plausible and that her unpleasant actions in the past books were all justifiable.
Reading this book gave me just the closure I needed in ending this series. Costa Leona will always be close to my heart and I'm greatful to be one of the witness of such a journey.
10/10 would recommend but read this after the series if not #1 and #8.

I Love the book and the plot especially the characters. I was happy on how marem handled her vengeance against the people who wronged her. I can feel the pain of the characters which shows how well written the story is. To be honest i haven't read anything that jonaxx have wrote because her works is not my taste. (P.S im not hating! I love jonaxx ❤️) But This story got me hooked and focused on my notification notice that miss. A updated. This was the book that i read when i was in my lowest and at that time the book is the only one who teached me how to move forward and start again.
It was well-written! I couldn’t remember how many times I sobbed because of this book. I sobbed because of the pain and because of happiness. I remember bawling my eyes out at 12 midnight! I have learned a lot because of this book + the reader’s opinions and thoughts. Thank you, Jonaxx.
CLS started with Riego-Galvez and it will end with Riego-Galvez! I've been waiting for Achilles and Marem's love story since 2016 because I've been curious about what led to Marem's wrath. Now that it's here and finally finished it, I can't wait for the book release to read Achi's POV! I still couldn't get over because I've been a MaChilles shipper since day one. I won't get tired of re-reading this story. All the sleepless nights, tears and pain that this book brought me was all worth it!
The Sun's Heartbeat is a masterpiece. It was full of mixed emotions, very well-written as if it feels like they are real. If I were to be asked what is my favorite Jonaxx stories, this book is my answer. It's been a long journey and I'm having a hard time accepting that CLS will now sail away. Kudos ate Jonah! Jonaxx never disappoints!
Listen. This book was good. However, there's a lot of details that I totally disliked, I felt like the author totally discarded Alana and Dencio to the side to push the main characters together. Throughout this series Marem and Achilles' love story was teased so hard so when Dencio died on their daughter's story I knew that Achilles and Marem would push through. In anyway told or seen Dencio played a big role to their love story and he only gets 3 chapters with literally no story of himself. I wouldn't mind if this book was written in sagas or had its own series because their story revolved around a lot of characters and those characters deserved to be told.
I don't care how much harassment I'll receive for saying this but Achilles is petty. His way of thinking and decision making is a literal -20000. He always feels and thinks that what he did was the best decision and the only way and Marem and everyone around her tends to think the same but his decision was idiotic.
Spoilers:
If he thinks he knows Marem enough to conclude that she might result to hurting herself then why leave her? Because he should've known that Marem wouldn't stop and move on and the only way for her to stop is to know the truth and you can't keep the truth from her too long, so in the end she might still end up hurting herself you just added to her pain for absolutely nothing.

Ok, this is by far the best book ever written by Jonaxx, in my opinion, despite the hate this book is getting. You can literally feel every emotion evoked by the author — Marem's wrath, Achilles' sadness, and their happiness in each other's arms. The plot is soooo well-written like ??? How?? It's so detailed and knowing that this is the last installment in the series, a lot of information has been disclosed from the past books which obviously surprised all of us readers. You can really tell that ate J carefully thought and planned out this series, if you're an old read, then you can really see how much improvement she has gained from years of writing and now it has flourished and this book is the best example for that.
I cried a river reading this book, got butterflies and smiled like an idiot, got extremely angry that I had to stop reading it, and so much more emotions where released while reading it. This book is a whole freaking package with so many tropes included in which I don't want to spoil anyone so I will just stop writing now HAHAH but for those who are planning to read this, then you're in the right path, do it!!
Kudos to ate J, you did a good job and I'm so proud of u 🥺 my fave author forever 🫶💗
The way this book gave me whiplash. I dnf'd this at Chapter 32.
Book's just not for me. I found some things ridiculous and annoying especially from Chapter 25 to 31. It was so annoying to the point that it made me want to dip my head in a boiling water and hit my eyes with fork.
It took six excruciating chapters of begging and shouting! And it happened again and again that instead of sympathizing with their situation, I found myself rolling my eyes and asking myself, "When's this going to end?". So by the time things started to simmer down, I feel so worn out that I didn't feel like reading any more of it.
If that was the writer's way to make the readers feel the intensity of the main character's emotion and just how intense the situation is, well it made me unconvinced.
I really wanted to give this a chance though but for a book that's been anticipated for years, it was a letdown.
On a positive note, I did enjoy some things in the book. The side characters were also lovable especially Nikolai.
Read this book while it's on going. Perhaps the years of waiting for their story was something that made it endearing... or it's just because you can literally feel it piercing through your heart... but this book is a literal masterpiece. Had to find courage to read this even if it wasn't done yet in high fears that I'd accidentally read a spoiler, but wow. Every pain was worth it. Every chapter, you'll feel what Marem felt. It was a long, long ride—from her immature high schooler days to those days she helplessly fell for Achilles, to the sudden pang of pain, to her being a mother, a daughter, a wife... all of it is just really heart-stopping. I'd read it in the future again and hopefully, in a physical copy already.
finally got to start costa leona and tsh is my first book lol!!! tbh years ago, nasimulan ko na cls (from scorching love) but i found it boring - take note, i was veryyyyy young back then kaya bear with me. i began reading it again a few weeks ago kasi i had always been curious about marem's history with achilles. so here we are.
if that's the kind of love marem wants and only achi can give that kind of feeling to her, then what can we do about it? machilles endgame para akin si dencio.
Saket, para akong binugbog. Masama ang loob ko. Nakakagalit. Nakakakilig. Ayoko nang magmahal. Mahal kita, Marem. Sorry sa pambabash hehe. Achilles, sorry sa masasamang mga words. Kab 22 supremacy. Iibigin kita kahit gaano pa katagaaaaaal. Immortal loves don't need mortal promises. Hindi ako mag momove on sa Machilles. Peryadt! Tuldokt! Mahal kita Jonaxx!
The most waited book for the whole six years! It was such a journey; so many secrets were revealed; I love how the words and the feelings Jonaxx put in this story, she used so many magical, but that didn't mean it wasn't hard to understand. Maria Emilia and Achilles really had a tough experience, and they deserved every happiness on the earth. They deserve everything.
Maria Emilia's my favorite. So? What if I continued with the other series even when I found them all disturbing just so I could read snippets of Maria Emilia? Anyway, I still believe that the author should've just given Achilles up so she and Dencio could end up together without the other having to die to get the other's happy ending. Whatever.
The only way I can understand any positive reviews for any book in this series is review bombing by bots or the friends of the author. I'd give this less than a star if possible, as the writing is absolutely puerile.
Love conquers all. The words hit different when you know what happened between them. Every sentence carries a deeper meaning. It was beautifully written, after all those years of wondering, questions were finally answered. A closure that we all deserved.
crying. throwing up. this is so beautifully written. my favorite part was where the author quoted marem as the sun and she found the warmth of her setting sun through amber <3 marem and achi deserve the best !
The narration is so good. This is the last installment of the series but you wouldn't feel like it is rushed or anything like that. It is so good I need to have a physical copy of this. Still waiting for Achilles pov I know it will be worth the wait.
One of the master piece of jonaxx 🥲😭 So well written and I freakin recommend this book.... i feel so invested to their love affair and its been years waiting for this book!!! So sooooo worth the wait
I would recommend reading the whole series in order to appreciate and enjoy it more. This is heartbreaking and at the same time the perfect way to end the costa leona series.
