I met the man of my dreams at trivia night.
How was I supposed to know he was a famous NFL player?

Brody Carter is everything a girl could ever want.
Strong, charming, insanely hot–and with a sizzling Texas twang to his deep voice.
Not to mention the sense of humor that makes me double-over with laughter.
But at the end of our amazing night, after I gave him my number?
He never called me.

Now it’s three months later.
I’m a cheerleader on the Salt Lake City Stallions.
And I just learned that Brody Carter is the team’s Tight End.
Which means it’s literally my job to watch his chiseled body run around, all covered in sweat.

Yet neither of us can forget the amazing first date we shared.
And his knowing smiles and flirty jokes become the best parts of my day.
As the season plays out, can we find a way to stay just friends?
Or will we be unable to keep our minds–and our hands–off each other?

TIGHT END is a scorching sports romance filled with humor, suspense, and football-related excitement. It can be read as part of the Salt Lake City Stallions series, or as a standalone. HEA guaranteed!

Man, I was so hyped to read this book. I absolutely loved First Down and was expecting to love this one as well but I found myself disappointed. I don't know if my expectations were too high, I just knew I loved K.T Quinn's books and enjoyed the big majority of her works but this one...

My BIGGEST issue with this book was Taylor. At first, I really liked her. She seemed to be down to earth, positive, smart and funny. I had a good feeling about her. But then, the more I read, the less I liked her. She kind of transformed into that scared, uncertain little teenager. She became aggravating, she lost all her charms. She was quick to make assumptions, she made weird decisions, and said things that didn't make sense. She even was mean a few times...And a scene in particular made me lose all respect. It was like she was back in highschool trying to impress the popular girl to be in her good graces. You're 28-30 years old..are you serious? Anyway, she is a big part of the reason that I dropped this rating so much.

As for Brody, he was alright? I first put the tag book boyfriend, because he had the potential to be one; but then I took the tag away. He was funny, charming, cute but the more I read, the more I wished he had been a little bit more enterprising(?) with Taylor. I wanted him to be more assertive, to take what he wanted. It would've helped with her doubts and the dynamic would've been more sweet and a little bit more interesting this way.

“Sometimes a girl just wants to look good.”
Brody grinned like a little boy.
“You passed good about five miles back. You’re smack dab in hot as fuck territory.”

I didn't feel the chemistry between them. It was just misunderstanding after misunderstanding, topped with miscommunication, and a bucket of highschool drama. I liked the premise, and I could even forgive that after meeting again, they both had found a boyfriend/girlfriend, I actually didn't mind it at all...But I really found all the characters very immature and I'm disappointed. I feel so sad about it too. It still had good moments here and there, and I did smile a few times but it was just not enough for me to fully like this couple. And as proof, I didn't highlight a lot, which is never a good sign...

I really wanted to give a good review, but I didn't enjoy it. I even put the comfort read tag at first and took it off later on, because for me, it was just Trigger Land. I'm still looking forward to the third book of this series; sport romances are a guilty pleasure of mine, and most K.T Quinn's books are too! This one was...eh?

Tight End is the second installment of the Salt Lake City Stallions. In this, you will meet Brody and Taylor. At first glance, I was really excited to jump into this book. Mostly because in the beginning Taylor had nothing to do with football. Then she dove into the world of cheerleading and that's when things went south.

Now I have nothing against the sport. Seriously, I don't. It's just that the first book rubbed me the wrong way when he was the football player, and she was one of the trainers. So, yeah, I was excited for this relationship until I wasn't.

It also doesn't help that Taylor really ended up frustrating me either. She was just really quick to assume the absolute worst about things and then was a horrible decision maker herself. The things she did gave me young girl vibes and not college/adult girl vibes.

I did, however, like Brody. Well, a bit more than Taylor that is. He was charming when he needed to be. Funny when we needed a comic relief or something. But there was just something missing. Which is weird to say since he liked Taylor, but something was off.

It's always interesting when it comes down to certain romances. Now I liked the first book's romance up to a certain point. That's what sort of happened in this one too. I liked them until I didn't anymore. They had their good and bad moments, but things just felt forced at times.

In the end, I'm not sure if I will dive into the next book but I feel like I might as well whenever it comes out. Maybe things will get better or maybe the same formula will be used on the next couple.

From Trivia Night and honey mustard chicken to tight ends and cheerleaders

Tight End is the second book in the Salt Lake City Stallions series and is the story of Taylor Fox and Brody Carter. Taylor is the new associate professor, Professor Fox, in the Paleontology department of the University of Utah. She is smart, having graduated from Stanford University and winning a number of prestigious awards. Moving to the UoU is a big step up from her previous position at the UC Davis, so she is excited and nervous. Taylor also has another profession....cheerleader. She started cheering when she was young and is part of the Salt Lake City Stallions squad. Brody is a tight end with the Stallions and a man who concentrates on the game during the season but parties and have fun with the ladies in the off season. Taylor and Brody's paths cross one night at a trivia night at a local bar, Tommy's. Taylor had been told that the department professors hung out on trivia night so she thought it would be a good chance to meet everyone and hopefully make some new friends. But when no one shows up it is Brody who asks to sit at her table, as he is there for their honey mustard chicken sandwich. But once he sits down the sandwich is the last thing he is thinking about, as the beautiful redhead is taking all his thoughts. As it turns out Taylor had been told the wrong bar for Trivia but she still has a great night with Brody. But what happens when he never calls her and then their paths cross again at the Stallions? Will things be friendly or will there be conflict? Personally I think the cheerleader Paleontologist could take the tight end down and then wire him back together!

This was a great read. The characters are nicely developed, I really loved Taylor as she settles into her new city and positions. Brody I could kick a few times but he believes in certain things and is regimented that way, so learning to make changes is going to be an interesting process. They have a great chemistry that comes off the pages at you at the start and then grows hotter.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Can I just say that this is an extremely cute sports romance?
I love that it’s not the usual stereotypes and the jock can be smart while admitting that he’s okay with having a woman smarter than him. Brody earns himself a hundred points for Hufflepuff with the things he did to try and make everything work.
Also the contrast between his relationship with Isabella and Taylor. How one was so toxic he never realized it until he met Taylor again and started to be more like himself.
Everything was about this was so freaking cute from Brody naming his husky after Luna Lovegood and admitting he read all the books (hence the little hufflepuff thing) to them trying to not let Isabella blackmail Taylor.
I love how the whole female in a man’s world was dealt with and also how the fmc (Taylor) can be a beauty, brains, and sporty. I love books like this and I also love how you don’t have to understand the sport to enjoy the book. I will admit I know nothing of football, but it didn’t detract anything from this book.
I also loved how yes there were sexy times, but you didn’t need to have all the details for every single one.
If you like sports romance books highly recommend this book.

This is my first time reading KT Quinn, but I’ll be back. Typically, pro athlete book plots are overdone as it’s hard to really create a unique pro athlete love story. Hockey seems so overdone and I’m a football girl myself, so that’s what drew me to Tight End. Then title, eh. I get it, but hit me up if you ever want to brain Storm some more creative ideas!

Fortunately, this author manages to create a somewhat new and different storyline. Taylor is a paleontology professor so I’m picturing sexy nerd. Brody is a pro football player and he likes the ladies, but the way they meet is endearing and fun. Plus she doesn’t know who he is, so there’s that. He likes being just Brody. They have a great time but alas, the guy doesn’t call. Wah wah.

Moving forward, the two meet again in a professional setting. He, a pro TE, her a part time cheerleader for his team. She isn’t thrilled he didn’t call, he seems to have a plausible explanation so where do things go from here? Well, they have some obstacles like new relationships, and the professional boundaries placed on theme as being part of the same team. There is some “bad guy” interference, but eventually they get to be happy. There’s a lot of chemistry and they do get their HEA. I liked the teammates and villain character development. I look forward to more from KT Quinn!

I LOVE this story. It was such a cute meet for Brody and Taylor and I was wondering what the heck happened. And then when they met again, it just proves that if you are meant to be, you are meant to be! I really loved Taylor as I thought she was such a strong female and has just an enthusiasm. And Brody is so swoon-worthy and adorable. I thought their chemistry was sizzling hot and really like that Brody’s teammates were so fun and supportive. I am really enjoying this series.

I liked the story but some parts were so cringy for me that I just couldn't deal with it. Like when he went to her classroom and declared his love? That may be romantic for some, but seeing as she was already in trouble because of the paparazzi outside (which was bs by the way), doing that stuff just gave me cringe. Some parts were also too cheesy so... Cringe again. But I did like their relationship and the friendships.

Average at best - read on KU

This series just isn't very good. This one is a little better than the first. At least it doesn't have the ridiculous start the first book had. Although, the way her boss at the college treats her is unreasonable, and she likely had enough to complain to HR about sexism. He thought he hired a man because her first name is Taylor. First of all, she would have had an interview. Even if it was a phone interview, her voice would have given away her sex. Second, there are more women named Taylor than men, according to birth records, particularly from birth records from roughly the time she was born. I personally know several female Taylor's but no male ones.

The cattiness 9f the cheerleaders might very well have been realistic. I'm not sure how pro cheerleading works. I don't know that one head cheerleader would make all the call of who makes the team and who is on the front line, but it seems more likely they would have a coach who determined those things. I also find it odd they had a policy about relationships with people in the office with the team (as we saw in book 1) but not between the team and the cheerleaders. It seems the policy was relationships were OK but they had to inform HR. He didn't do that with either cheerleader he dated.

The steamy scenes in these books aren't all that great. Definitely completely vanilla.

The author does do a much better than average job with the facts about football.

I don't recommend the series. I didn't finish it, which is very unusual for me.

Taylor is a new professor at the University of Utah. When she tries to make friends with her colleagues and invites herself along for trivia night, she is given the wrong place to go. As she waits for them, she gets upset and feels hurt by what they did. Brody was the bar to get some food and eave until he started talking to Taylor. He felt bad for how she was treated and ended up staying and playing the trivia night at that bar with her. They exchange numbers at the end of the night promising to stay in touch. However, a misunderstanding stops them from staying in contact. Then weeks later when she is trying out to be a cheerleader for a pro team, she runs into him and his now girlfriend. Brody is stunned when he sees her and thinks that she had been lying to him about everything she said the night they met. His girlfriend doesn't like their interaction and makes it known to Brody. When Brody finally figures out why he couldn't reach Taylor things change pretty quickly but by this time she is dating someone too. Will they finally get their acts together and admit what they feel? Will Taylor be able to have everything she wants?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Taylor Fox and Brody Carter. When this book opens we find that Taylor is finally working as a professor in the job she has dreamed about. The thing is when she gets there she realizes that they think that she is a he. With her name they believe that she is a he and this is not the first time she has had this problem. So she decides to take the high road and see about joining them for trivia night the thing is they give her the wrong place. While feeling sorry for herself she meets Brody and feels and instant connection. Brody has stopped at the bar for a sandwich which is perfection to him. When he gets there he doesn't find a seat except for the beauty in the corner. While talking to her he realizes she has no clue who he is and he can just be himself. The more time he spends with ehr the more he wants to. Can these two find a HEA or will the difference they have make that impossible?

Another hit out of the park by this author. The pressures these two go through will either draw them together or it will be then end of them. Which will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

both OW/OM drama plus unrealistic plot lines

Soooooo both main characters date other people up until about 30% of the book. The ex girlfriend makes the female main character cheerleader sit the bench in jealousy so what does her nfl boyfriend do? Throws away an 83 MILLION dollar contract with Adidas and does it for “free” so Adidas gives his ex girlfriend a cheerleading shoe contract so she didn’t bench his girlfriend anymore??? Even though the team owner said he wanted to fire the ex gf for her blackmailing the situation? He only dated this exho a couple a months, no way would he not just get her fired as head cheerleader AND also giving up 83 million for his new girl just to dance in the front line of cheer squad ??? Adidas contracts aren’t even worth that much!!!!!!!!……… seriously….. and that random he drives by the ex’s apartment at the end only to see her packing to go be a backup dancer for Taylor swift??? Why would he even have gone by there just to touch base that she wouldn’t give his current boo no more problems? This was a mess of a book and I’m embarrassed that I finished it. So unrealistic and poorly written i wasted my Sunday afternoon. Who wrote this??? A teenage girl NOT in advanced classes? 🙄

This was a great story about finding that perfect someone and then almost losing them only to find them again and overcoming any obstacles to make the relationship work. Taylor and Brody definitely had lots of ups and downs but in the end it was all worth it to have the happily ever after. They are such an adorable couple and work together well in dealing with issues when they come up (for the most part anyway).

I didn't read the first book in the series, but it was alluded to often in this book and I got the gist of what happened in the first book okay. The story may have been more enjoyable having read it first, but I was able to follow along just fine not having read it.

There were two rather despicable characters in this story and the author does a great job at making them come across as truly horrible people and making you hate them. I did cringe every time there was a scene with either of them in it, so kudos for great character development.

One of the best sports romances I have read in a long time. I am new to this auther and I have to say wow. This book is about Taylor and Brody. Taylor is a professor at a college in Utah and Brody plays football for the Stallions. When Taylor goes to meet some coworkers at a bar to play trivia she finds shes been duped by the Dean and is all alone. Just as shes about to leave a sexy guy in a hoodie sits down in a seat at the table after asking and they start up conversation and play the game. They end up winning and each take part of the prize. Taylor gives him her number only for Brody to not get a number right due to her handwritting and forward 3 months they are both dating others. With Taylor also being a cheerleader for the Stallions they now see eachother and just cant stay away. With a jealous girlfriend/ex and a controlling rude bf they think they have missed their chance. Will it work for the sexy Tight End and the Professor he just cant get out of his head. AMAZING story.

T-Foxy for the Win!

I've loved this author's writing for years and this is a great example of why. The characters are real with the good, the bad, and the vengeful. The situations are believable. And this time there's a beautiful pup. OK, perhaps Luna is more than a pup, but she's still a great addition. I struggled to put it down (even though it's past my bedtime).

This starts a little childish, with a much older man in a position of power essentially hazing a new employee. (It's something I'd expect from a younger group of people, though annoying, but not a mature professional.) Thankfully, Brody arrives on the scene and makes it a much better time.

I love how Taylor and Brody meet, connect, and have a miscommunication. I even like that he stayed true to his plans to find something real, even if his first attempt wasn't the right one. He and Taylor are steamy cute when they get it right. 😍

I was kind of excited to see him again. Partly because I wanted to win the argument about the phone number, but partly because I wanted to see his dumb, sexy face again.
--Taylor Fox, Ph.D

I love when they are playful. I hate that they are both essentially blackmailed by power-tripping a... fools. While very realistic, it's a hard pill to swallow when one of them actually comes out on top.

I did wonder why Taylor, who confirms that she has a doctorate wasn't referred to as Dr. Fox instead of Professor, but that's the biggest thing that stuck in my head.

UPDATED 9/2022:
I stumbled upon the extended epilogue this morning. In keeping with all things Taylor and Brody, it's incredibly sweet and cute with a hint of budding young love.

Lost Opportunity ? . . .

Taylor meets Brody Carter who doesn’t let her know he is an NFL player when he realizes she doesn’t recognize him. It gave him a sort of freedom where he wouldn’t feel judged by the other person. They have an amazing night together and she writes down her phone number for him. But she never hears from him and both of them have moved on to other relationships.

A college professor who moonlights as a cheerleader for the Salt Lake City Stallions team, Taylor finally discovers who Brody actually is. Will she believe him that the phone number she gave him that night was unreadable? Will she forgive him for not calling her? Now that he’s seeing Isabella, will there ever be a chance for Taylor again? Or could they at least just be friends? Grab your copy and see what Fate has in store for them, or have they lost the chance to be anything more?

This was a sports romance.

Taylor Fox is a new associate professor of paleontology at the University of Utah. She has a side job as an NFL cheerleader for the Stallions.

Brody Carter is a tight end for the Stallions. He sees Taylor sitting alone in a bar and goes to sit with her. They end up playing trivia and winning first place. She gives him her number but when he calls it is a wrong number.

Several months later they are both dating other people and run into each other at the practice stadium. They end up breaking things off with their current partners and start dating in secret. They get photographed by the paparazzi and it causes issues for Taylor especially for both her jobs. They resolve their problems and get their HEA.

This is the second installment of the "Salt Lake City Stallions" books and it is absolutely fabulous. There are many familiar characters from "First Down", this is Brody's story and the chemistry between him and Taylor is great. All of the characters are fantastic and well written. The story has sports, science, humor, friendship, love, with a bit of suspense and drama. What more could you want! I was in from the moment it started, there are several laugh out loud moments and plenty more that bring a smile to your face and I could not put it down until the end. I can not wait for the next book in the series and I look forward to more by K.T. Quinn.

In the 2nd book of the Salt Lake City Stallions series we get Brody and Taylor's story which is sexy, flirty and fun. When Brody and Taylor meet at a bar she's not having a good day within minutes he has her laughing so in the end they exchange numbers but Brody never calls. Months later they reconnect again only this time they're both in relationships but the spark between them is still there. When Brody reveals to Taylor his reason for not contacting her there are some revelations that are brought to light opening the door to the possibility of more in the future. You really need to read this sexy story to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Brody and Taylor meet at a quiz night... Taylor gives Brody her phone number but chaos ensues and Brody can't call her!
They meet months later.. Taylor a college professor, is a cheerleader in her spare time and gets a position on the city team and guess who plays for them? Yup Brody!

I really liked this sports romance!
I laughed and cried... all the feels.
Characters were great, the initial boyfriend and girlfriend were exactly the right personalities and caused exactly the right amount of drama!
well written and well developed.

The only thing I would have liked, would have been for Brody to fight for Taylor more, to see her and dump the girlfriend and immediately go after his girl, but that's just because I love possessive Heroes.

Going to go read the first book now!

What do Archaeology and football have in common? A beautiful love story, of course!
I started lovin’ on this storyline from page one. I didn’t stop until I got to the end of the book.
You want to know what I love about it? First off, the storyline started with a ‘wow’ factor enough to grab my attention. Then as the characters were introduced, I was hooked. The main characters, Taylor and Brody, were so well written that the further I got into the story, the more I knew this book was a winner. There was so much to like in the story. With lots to fret over and just the right amount of sizzle (is there such a thing?) that it held my attention until the end. Which, of course, was the best yet.
I’ve been a fan of K.T. Quinn for a while. TIGHT END only cements that statement. Easy 6 Stars!

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Brody and Taylor. She's a professor in paleontology and as a side job, she is a cheerleader. Brody is a football tightens. Trying to fit in with the other professors she asks to join trivia night. But when they don't show she finds a better partner in the handsome Brody. When they miss connecting she starts to date a fellow professor and he starts to date a cheerleader. But when they see each other at a game and say hi, things go a little crazy. As they fight their attraction finally getting a chance at Halloween, all things change. But several challenges are in their path. Great story.

Tight End is a fun second book in the Salt Lake City Stallions series. It’s a complete standalone but since I read the first I enjoyed seeing more of the first couple’s HEA. I loved the banter between Brody and Taylor. It was quick and witty. The chemistry between Taylor and Brody was magnetic making it even better when they finally got together. Overall this book was so much fun and i ripped through it quickly.

Trivia Night 4 ½ stars. - The story environments feel authentic whether it is a football practice or a game, a university lecture hall, a professor’s office or trivia night at a bar. The progress of Taylor and Brody's relationship feels natural. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me was Taylor’s reaction after their relationship became official to the press. It seems immature for an associate professor. It is a good story though and has believable conflicts. It has steamy romance, no boring chapters and has interesting “villains”. The book is entertaining enough that I kept reading it late into the night. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

In this book you have a professional tight end and the professor that fall for each other. Brody is a tight end for his pro team and when he stops to get a bite on his way to watch pro basketball he never expected to make a new friend but he does. Taylor is the new professor at the local college but when her boss gives her bad info she ends up sitting by herself at a local bar. So when this handsome guy asks if he can sit at her table she never expects what happens next.
This book shows that you can find love in the strangest ways.,

This was my fourth read by the author and I'm glad she's doing more sports romance as it's my favourite genre. As with the first book in the series, First Down, the setting and story were engaging and everything flowed really nicely and naturally. The story was well thought out and I liked the main characters, especially as we had a little more interaction with Dallas and Kim throughout. It was another easy well written read so I'm looking forward to reading more about the other Stallions teammates in the future.

Taylor Fox is new to Salt Lake City, a new professor to the paleontology department. She also likes to keep fit and busy by being a cheerleader for the local team. Taylor is stood up by her new coworkers as she takes them by surprise, she figured she was male. Brody is on his way outbursts for a quick bite. Brody sits with Taylor and they end up hitting it off. Taylor gives her number to Brody but a few mishaps happen that end up delaying and challenging these two. I enjoyed our strong, independent Taylor and how she not only stayed true to her but challenged Brody as they became a true team. Enjoy!

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the second book in the Salt Lake City Stallions series. Brody and Taylor first meet due to a misunderstanding. Nothing comes from that night except they will not forget each other. Later on they meet when they learn that they have the Stallions in common. They have a second chance to find out if those first feelings were real. There are several obstacles in their path but the connection between them is strong. Football, attraction and drama. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline
