📚 FROM SALT TO SKY 📚Is a full-length PNR/ROMANCE book by Adriane Leigh. Spoken in Dual Perspectives. After many hours reading over her Grandmothers letters which were addressed to her sister and not sent we're all passed down to Fable upon her death and each signed at the bootom with the words 'It is written' is what compelled Fable to seek answers about the disappearance of a cold case concerning her granny many years ago leads her to Leith Hall Heathermoor Abbey in Scotland where she has ninety days to unearth the truth, a place where many young girls have met their demise.
For three months her accomodation would be the eight hundred year old creepy cold desolate castle known as Leith Hall.
This had me intrigued from the start, from the cover to the synopsis (which I guess I didn't read properly and blame it all on that gorgeous cover) so I was excited to get my hands on this one...
As the author weaved this intricate tale I found myself enthralled with this mystical deadly place.
So first off I don't as a rule read this genre, so imagine my surprise when I'm thrown into a tailspin many chapters under my belt uncovering that this is indeed PNR. But all in all it didn't take away from me enjoying this book.
From Salt to Skye was the kind of book that definitely had me out of my comfort zone a bit. I honestly didn't know where this story was going or the nature of these characters' intentions. Everything was up in the air and I went into this very cautiously.
Fable Prescott is on a mission to find out what really happened to her great Aunt and a few women that has managed to go missing in the dark and dreary town of Isle of Skye. Hoping to write her senior thesis on her findings and discover more about her. family ancestry, Fable embarks on a dark journey that could soon prove to be deadly. What happens when getting close to the truth unleashes a whirlwind of buried secrets?
I’m going to be really honest about this story because like it or not, this is what reviews are for. As readers and reviewers, we’re supposed to give you our honest opinion and offer you a little snippet into how the story made us feel. I think that this author portrayed these characters and gave us a remarkable setting that we couldn't help but visualize with every chapter. You were on a journey just like the main character and you experienced all of her new clues and saw the mystery being unfolded the exact same time that she did as well. I really liked that and I thought that it was written really well.
Now for the part that a lot of people are probably going to hate me for saying but I need to do it: I’m not a fantasy/ paranormal fan. I know I know and I’m sorry but that has never been my genre and unfortunately this book had it. I think that it’s clearly my fault and I probably should've read the blurb more better, but that’s on me.
Aside from that, I truly think if that if you’re a fan of that genre and enjoy a bit of mystery to your reads, then you might fall in love with this one.
This is a normie who read Wuthering Heights one time and decided she knew what gothic was. It also made exactly zero sense when explained at the end.
I did like the concept. And the line about how some stories imprint themselves in time and repeat over and over until something changes- again, strong concept. Pooorrrr execution.
This was pedestrian, which is worse than bad. I can forgive bad in service of a mood and frequently do, but there’s no gothic with no magic. It doesn’t work.
What did I just read? My mind is still reeling and I feel I will be haunted by From Salt to Skye by Adriane Leigh. Gripping. Mysterious. Set in the mist covered Isle of Skye in the ancient hills of Scotland, this was an intriguing tale of tragedies, legends and starcrossed lovers. It will suck you in with the twists, the secrets, the history, the supernatural edge and above all, fantastic storytelling.
Fable travels to Isle of Skye, Scotland to unravel the mystery of her great grand aunt's disappearance and to do research for her study. Leith Hall is an ancient castle with history and legends stuck in its empty dark walls. And she meets so many fascinating people in this misty island. The keeper of the hall Keats. His brother Alder. The pub owner Harris. She feels slowly her reality is getting smudged while roaming in the dangerous cliff, the mysterious caves and the sinister graveyard.
The Isle with its unique geographical characters provided the perfect backdrop of this paranormal romance. The author expertly used the dreamy and magical and supernatural vibes and it was unique reading experience. You will find yourself losing in the pages of the old collection of tales called Legends and Lovers with Fable. I cannot say much without giving spoilers. Fable becomes part of a journey spanning across centuries and she has this new beginning with her Soulmate who has waited for centuries for her to remember. It was an exotic mix of Starcrossed lovers and fantasy and history. And you do not want to miss this beautiful story.
Fable is an American university student whose roots go as far as Scotland. One day she comes across a summer programme abroad, chance has it the location for said experience is the Isle of Skye on Scottish land. What better opportunity to set sail to know more about her ancestors and also uncover an old century mystery: Many girls have gone suddenly missing on those fateful edgy cliffs.
As soon as Fable enters her temporary accommodation, Leith Hall, an aura of strangeness envelopes her, she feels a deep bone connection to that eerie manor. Despite a rocky start she is determined to find out the truth about her great-aunt death, but what if the truth isn’t always what the naked eye sees… what if Fable is asking the wrong questions? And most importantly why is the brooding handsome neighbour named Adler so enticing? Fable is unsettled by his mere nearness, her senses dulled but also awake, she doesn’t understand why she’s pulled to him. The stronger she tries to resist the harder it gets.
Reality blending into fantasy, past interweaving with the present, legends and real world becoming one, a sensory journey leading to freedom or perdition... Fable needs to let go of her bindings, she needs to set her mind free to wander, only then she will find the key to her past present and future, but she needs to be fast as time is running out, the clock is ticking, will Alder help her in her quest? Or will he uncover even more mysteries? Will he answer Fable’s questions or raise new ones?
This is a story part of the new 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 promising series . It’s told in multiple POV and you need to be patient as the full meaning of this tale will unravel in second part. I liked the Scottish setting, I believe it gives the perfect atmosphere to bring all these old legends and fantasy creatures to life. I wasn’t fully invested into the story at the beginning, it was slow and the characters were flat, I couldn’t connect to any of them, I’m glad it improved towards the second part.
Overall I enjoyed this story framed by the magical Scottish setting, but I can’t help feel the author could have done better given the juicy material she had at her disposal, I wished she would have dared a bit more, I would have liked more care especially in the first part. I was enchanted by the nice packaging but the in inside didn’t meet my expectations, nevertheless we’re off to a good start and I look forward to reading more stories by authors contributing to this series.
This is an anthology series concept that I can’t wait to dive into! From Salt to Skye is the first book in a 15+ book series, each a stand-alone, written by a different author. Crazy, right? 🤯🙀
✨From Salt to Skye centers around Fable (🖤 the name), a student coming to the Isle of Skye in Scotland 🏴 to do some research and potentially solve a long-standing family mystery. 👻
✨Along the way, she meets Alder, her smoking hot neighbor 🥵🔥 who is all kinds of mysterious 🔍
✨This book confused the hell out of me 😅 Is Fable seeing things, à la mental illness, or is it a haunting? Is Fable dreaming or not? WHO ARE THESE RANDOM CHARACTERS?!
✨As confused as I was the entire time I was reading (and let’s be honest, I’m still confused), it was a RIDE. 🎢 I truly didn’t see any of the twists coming, making the story that more haunting 😲
✨Leigh’s writing is gorgeous. Truly spectacular. ❤️🔥
✨Was there spice? 🌶 Not really. Am I going to continue with this series in the hopes that I get some? Absolutely 😈
✨The reason I gave this book 3.5 stars isn’t because it isn’t good 💚 I was just so confused the entire time, and I’m STILL confused. Some people may love that in a dark legends novel. I am not one of those people 🤷🏻♀️
✨Do I recommend this? Yes. 👍 I enjoyed it enough to recognize that what isn’t my cup of tea ☕️ is still a good book! You may love it, in all its Scots glory.
✨IT TAKES PLACE IN SCOTLAND 😍 which should be enough for you to give it a chance.
This was pretty good. It took me a hot minute to figure out what was going on, hence the half star. It really gave me a gothic romance vibe, and since my all time favorite book is Rebecca, this worked for me LOL I don't want to say too much since part of the intrigue is learning what is happening in the story with Fable and Alder. Just know it's worth it in the end!
I just finished From Salt to Skye, and I have so many emotions and thoughts running through my head. My mind is still reeling. I could not sleep until I finished this book, so please forgive me if I ramble.
I started From Salt to Skye the moment it hit my kindle, and I did not stop until I finished the very last page. This is one of the most unique and captivating books I've read in recent years. It's spine-tingling, hair-raising, and will have you questioning everything you think you know. Not only was I entertained, but my mind was also engaged, running theories, arranging puzzle pieces, and examining what I had read. This is not a story or a simple romance; it's an adventure. One I thoroughly enjoyed. Fable and Alder, I have so much love and admiration for them and all they fought to overcome. The writing was phenomenal. The imagery was painted so vividly that I could easily imagine the beautiful scenery of Scotland, the salty air, and the haunting atmosphere of Leith Hall. To put together such a complex and astounding tale is quite a feat! I will admit to questioning things that didn't quite add up early in the story, but I urge you to continue if you have this feeling. Your questions will be answered, and you will be entertained.
I may have more to add later, but for now, all I can say is read this book!
A little off my normal path, but I found myself easily captivated by this episode of the Legends and Lovers collection. Set in Scotland, there’s mystery at every turn with an air of the supernatural. I was truly enamored by this magical star-crossed love lost and found storyline.
Well-written and complex, it pushed my limits and had me questioning, doubting and guessing at each turn. I loved the flawed and messiness of the characters and their lives. The entanglement sometimes becomes almost overwhelming and I certainly felt lost.
The ending felt a bit rushed and ended too soon (for me at least!). A few dangling questions that might seem unimportant to some readers left me desirous of resolutions.
Overall, I’m glad I took the plunge into this enchanting adventure into the unknown.
My first book by Adriane Leigh and omg, it will NOT be my last. Ya'll this book, these characters, this story. EVERYTHING left me speechless. I went into this story thinking I knew what it would be about, but man was I wrong. Salt to Skye was so mysterious, it had me on the edge of my seat wanting answers and not wanting the book to end.
Fable is off to Scotland looking for answers, she never expected to go from mystery to mystery. This paranormal romance had everything I love in a book. I didn't know what was going to happen and I LOVED THAT, I love when a story surprises me. Adriane wrote this in a way that it felt like I was watching this instead of reading it. A must read!!!
It took me on the hauntingly beautiful journey of two star crossed lovers doomed to a fate worse than death. It’s hard to describe the feelings that this book gave me without giving anything away, but it was amazing! I felt everything while trying to piece together the mystery surrounding Fable and Adler. Everyone should read this book right now, but be prepared to be haunted by these characters long after the final page.

If you like mystery mixed with your paranormal then this is the book for you . We follow Fable as she embarks on a journey to discover what really happened to her great aunt while also doing her senior thesis. To accomplish this she must travel to the Isle of Skye where it all began. Several woman have disappeared from there adding to the mystery but Fable really has no idea what she is getting into. This sets things up nicely for a fun mystery as we follow along and there are plenty of surprise twists to keep the reader guessing. As an added bonus this is one of those books that belongs to an interconnected series where each book is a standalone written by a different author but all sharing the same world. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Well, well! 🥂 I’m speechless. If you’re going to kick off a brand new series of standalone stories from a talented author pool based on legends and lore, this is the book to start with! My mind was so stimulated and swept away by the raw piece of magic that exists in this story. There is something special here and I’m not quite sure if I should spoil it, and I’m still connecting the dots myself! I’ve watched some films like this before, but I went in blind so when I got to the big reveal, I had to pause for a moment! This story was just so different than what I’ve been reading lately, it sure was a welcome change and I absolutely loved the writing style! 💕
This is definitely a book that is different than your usual run of the mill romance, because it is not a typical romance story with guy meets girl, lots of steam, etc…so there’s a bit of a trade off because it is very unique and different with how the story is told. Although there is at the core and what drives it-a very strong love story-there is less steam than what I would’ve liked, because the characters are facing some hurdles along the way, they have to find their ways to each other, but again, I wouldn’t pick this book up solely for the purpose of steamy content. If you want a true “experience” and to feel like you’ve been brought to another place in time, with a world that’s layered and with something that leaves your mind meditating on thoughts that are a bit more deeper than surface level, with some light steam, I’d pick up this book!
There’s romance, tragedy, legends, lore, magic, family mysteries, curses, haunted caves/places, graveyard scenes and a small town fraught with missing women. It’s just very multifaceted and it was a complex but diverting love story! 💗 It is written so well, the wording is very eloquent, romantic, and there were times I felt like I was actually there!
Breakdown:
Slow burn Interwoven/multiple timelines Love across lifetimes/afterlife/reliving past/reincarnation Star crossed lovers Haunting/magical/historical/macabre tone/moody/atmospheric reading experience Curses Legends/lore/mystery/secrets Graveyard/Loch setting/old mansion up on the hill Generational trauma Childhood friends Tragedy Multiple POV’s Scotland setting steeped in magic and history A bit light on steam (but with this type of story (without spoiling it) it was kind of difficult to insert a lot of steam and character moments together due to how the story is told, but there is definitely a few moments so it’s not clean or anything, just lighter than what I’m used to) 💗 Hea
•There are triggers in this story, it isn’t dark persay IMO, but is very atmospheric, there are some somber moments when you’re in certain character’s pov . There’s also one r*pe scene (Not done by the H) it is done by someone else (and not done to the heroine) but the character in question is underage and has integral ties to the ongoing storyline so it is significant. Sui*ide, death.

I really loved this book and enjoyed reading it so so much
From Salt to Skye was one of those books where I was lured in by the beautiful cover. Upon seeing it, I was desperate to find out more. After reading the blurb, I was sure I would be hooked on this story. In the end, however, this one ended up not working for me.
The start of the story had me curious about how everything would come together. There were lots of elements that had me making predictions, which had me eager to see how they would interact. The first third of the book, however, dragged and bounced around too much for me. It kept me turning the pages, but it did not wow. The last third was what left me deciding I did not love the book in the way I had hoped. In fact, the last third left me with a negative feeling that replaced the apathy of the first two thirds. For me, at least, the way things came together at the end was far too quick and vague. Jumps were made, things were simply accepted, and everything was over in the blink of an eye. I’d had high hopes the end would bring it together well, yet the opposite happened.
I know a lot of people enjoyed this one, yet it was not for me. Perhaps I simply was not the right reader.
"Do you always speak in poetic riddles?" "Wouldn't be a good Scit if I didn't, now would I lass?"
Fable & Alder love story is just simple enchanting suspense love story. I just love that we are solving a mystery of her great auntie death and its link to Lieth Hall in Isle of Skye, Scotland. That is full of legends and Lore filled with fairies, pixies, fae, kelpie and forest children. The forest around the property you do not walk alone and a Loch that takes young lasses away...no spoilers on more on the Scotland's lore. I really want to read Scotland's fairy tales & lore 😍
Their love story makes you wonder is it fantasy or just a simple romance to me its was a dark enchanting read. I just love that you can't tell which one. I hope I find my own "Tea Companion" someday minus the murder mysterious...no spoilers I have haven't read a love story like theirs and I don't want to spoil why but I will say their are soul mate but they go beyond soul mates...no spoilers
I have to say, this is a unique and stunning read that I could not put down. Leigh delivers such a brilliant story concept with From Salt to Skye that you get swept away in the magical world that has been created. This one will keep you on your toes, guessing what will happen next, questioning what you just read and so much more. Fable and Adler are just wow! The way these two just meld together was bewitching and so much more. This is honestly one of those books you just have to read and experience it blind!
This book by Adriane Leigh is definitely something I normally wouldn’t read. Fable and Alder’s story is complex and out of this world. I couldn’t get enough of it as their journey slowly unfolded between the pages of the book. I was captivated by the mystery and all the riddles. And the love between the pair was beyond powerful—everlasting. It was an interesting read that took me out of my comfort zone but sucked me in nonetheless.
This is my first book by Adriane Leigh and it won’t be my last. When I started this book I wasn’t sure what to expect and ended up loving the characters. I couldn’t put it down and can wait to read my next book by the author.

A Shockingly Magical, Suspenseful ride riddled with secrets interspersed in legends and fables 😍😍
OH.. MY... FREAKING GOODNESS... I'm shocked, need a moment to process everything that finishing this crazy ride. I have to say, never did I imagine it'll take me where it did and spinning a 180 to how things started.
This one starts with taking you on a beautiful journey along with Fables, to the Isle of Skye in Kylemore, Scotland. She's on a special study program sent for her research but also has her own hidden motto in finding what exactly happened to her great-aunt all those years ago.
She arrives at the Leith Hall, a beautiful historic place surrounded by mystic and legends with a Loch nearby and scenic beauty. The keeper, Keats, is a kind and helpful gentleman, who tells her to read the legends and lovers book to help her know the legends and tales.
She meets the bar owner, Harris and strikes an instant friendship with him as he gives her all the gossip and things she needs to know.
But Fables is warned time and again to be wary of her surroundings and leith Hall. As she comes to know about the mysterious disappearance of girls from generations and connecting it with all the secrets surrounding her, she intends to get to the bottom of things. An accident brings her to Alder who she realises is her neighbour and has an aura of darkness and mystery surrounding him.
As she begins digging deeper, the lines between reality and ghosts and magic start blurring making her question everything. Fables starts getting this weird dreams/visions and also strange sightings that has her scared and yet having a feeling that somehow it all has a connection.
The book of legends and lovers which Fables reads has all this mysterious stories and she feels an unusual connect to the. Also, her connection to the friendly Harris is sweet and she likes it but also her attraction to her very intense and moody neighbour, Alder also leaves her confused to their connection. She feels drawn to both the light and darkness of both the men. But Alder sure does makes her feel things on an other level.
I can't express exactly how much this one had my head spinning when we finally unravel the tangle of secrets. To say I was shocked is an understatement with the freaking twist and turns this one took with the massive reveal making me open-mouthed, wide-eyed and unable to comprehend with what just happened. I'm still reeling and impressed with how the author has given us such a beautiful tale of star-crossed lovers making me feel oh so many emotions. I think this one will surprise you and spin your head in the best kinda way.
I loved experiencing all the gorgeous scenic beauty of the Isle of Skye, Loch, the Leith Hall, dunvegan and Kylemore, Scotland and also a Heart-Touching, mystical and magical tale of love that exceeds all beliefs and realities and everything else to meet its beloved, to triumph in it's glory. Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
☆☆☆☆ From Salt to Skye was unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It is a novel woven with madness, revenge, tragedy and the never-ending spirit of love. It was an epic journey filled with mystery, surprising legends with unpredictable ends and puzzle pieces that I loved putting together. She also wonders if her sexy, brooding neighbor, Alder, is her only lead to her family’s tragic past. I went into this story completely blind and I loved trying to piece together all the many mysteries taking place. That was part of the enjoyment with this book so I don’t want to give anything away. My only complaint was the underdeveloped beginning. A great deal of the first quarter of the book had me in a constant state of confusion. I’m so glad I pushed through because it kept getting better and better. Overall, it was a breathtaking journey and one that really packed a punch. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. The twists, turns, secrets and dark history kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters were so intriguing and layered in intricate detail. The setting was so creatively detailed that I could see everything taking place as if I were watching a movie. If I didn’t already want to visit Scotland before reading this book, I do now! I highly recommend it. If you get thrown off by the beginning of the story, just stick with it because you won’t regret it. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Where do I even begin? This book absolutely sucked me in from the very beginning. Adriane Leigh delivers an amazing storyline and an epic star-crossed love story between Fable and her handsome neighbor Alder.
Fable has the opportunity to study abroad in the Isle of Skye located in Scotland and from there she also takes advantage of the opportunity to learn more about her ancestors and what really happened to her great aunt. Upon staying in Leith Hall she discovers there is more than meets the eye and the bone-chilling sensations she feels in the Hall are there for a reason. While in her stay, Fable is given a book full of legends but you know what they say there is some truth to legends and myths. Between the missing girls, the erie legends, and the mysterious brooding neighbor who is always there at the right time Fable will stop at nothing to discover the truth even if the truth isn't what it seems.
It is my first time reading a book from Adriane Leigh and I can honestly say she is added into one of my favorite authors. This is not one of my typical reads but I was instantly hooked from the very beginning. The twist and turns had me screaming with anticipation and just when you think you know how the book is going to end Adriane Leigh throws in an unexpected surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed how the author kept me engaged and wanting more. I finished it in one sitting because I couldn't wait to discover what was in store for the end. I definitely recommend this book and if you're someone like me who wants a good ending then I can assure you will receive a well-deserved HEA!
