Harry Potter/Willy Wonka for kids who aren't old enough to read yet. If your kid loves poring over images in Look and Find books like the "I Spy series", they will likely get a lot out of Wizard and Co's busy and beautiful illustrations. There is also a secret message at the end that you can decipher if you pay close attention to all the pictures.

This could have been 5 stars, but the story wasn't very well done. I think it would have worked better as a puzzle book with a little bit of a story to it, rather than a storybook with a little bit of a puzzle to it.

Cute read, beautiful pages, lots to look at. Loved deciphering the message at the end. It was like a scavenger hunt having to go back and look through the pages again. To decipher another message. Lots of fun.

This book is really cool. I admit I loaned it for my children because the cover drew me in, I loved the idea of reading them something magical- the illustrations are so detailed and pleasing to look at. It wasn’t til we read it a second time til we realised there was a wizard to find on each page, and a code word on each page to decipher at the back of the book. My 4yo was able to help me find the code words which I then deciphered for her. Would recommend this book to borrow from your library or purchase as a gift.

I got all the way to the end of what I thought was just this cute, whimsical kids book…and there was an encoded message! The book then proceeded to make me go on an entire scavenger hunt through the book to find hidden messages and decode them, which eventually led me to the “prize,” if you want to call it that. 11/10 reading experience. We need more books with puzzles in them.

Also me: never read Artemis Fowl or 39 Clues as a kid which apparently also did something like this

For kids who love the idea of hidden magical worlds such as those in Harry Potter or the Land of Oz, this is a fun and wildly creative picture book. The illustrations bring to mind the I SPY series--there is so much to look at, and funny little surprises hidden among the busy landscapes of each page.
