"A Duke's Lustful Christmas" is a Regency romance full of passion, forbidden love and adventure. If you like powerful heroines and mysterious lovers, then you'll adore Lucy Langton's Regency tale.
"A Duke's Lustful Christmas" is a historical romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Lucy Langton was born in Boston but currently lives in Maine with her husband and their beautiful twin daughters.
She has a PhD in English literature from Columbia University. Her field of expertise was 19th-century British novel. After college, she went backpacking in Europe where she met her husband. It was love at first sight!
Lucy knew she wanted to be a writer ever since she was a little girl, writing stories from different eras to read to her little brother. Her first story felt like a dream come true.
When she’s not writing, she enjoys painting, eating pizza and baking… not necessarily in that order! She also identifies herself as the biggest Jane Austen fan!

A disreputable Duke meets his match when a young parlor maid shows up on his doorstep. Ezra and Abigail find love despite misunderstandings between them. Lucy Langton has written a good book.
Regency and Christmas stories are the perfect combination. Add in that Abigail is a maid. It made the story that much sweeter. Abigail is so sweet, but she has her strength and her opinions. She didn't let Ezra run all over her and oush her around. She was exactly what he needed to pull him out of his grief, anger, and sadness. She didn't bend to his will at every turn. When he insulted her, she called him out on it. When the drama happened, I was so disappointed in not just Ezra but Mary as well. How could she betray Abigail like that? It made me angry and so sad as well. Abigail did the right thing to walk away and call them both out on their crap. Thanks to Luke, which I hope he gets a happy ending too, Ezra was able to find the truth and grovel at Abigail's feet. I love the ending, and I can't wait to read more from this author.
The Duke hates Christmas but Abigail will heal his heart.
Abigail Andrews needs to earn an income to help support her elderly parents; her father has a little toy shop where he sells his hand carved wood creations but his hands are slower as he ages. She finds employment at the country manor of Lord Ezra Haddington, the Duke of Brunswick. However, the Duke has a horrible disposition since he lost his parents in a carriage accident, at a very young age, during the Christmas season. Well, get ready for a clash of wits between Ezra and Abigail. No more spoilers, just enjoy how these two come together to heal the Duke’s dark nature, all leading to a wonderful happy ending.
DNF I tried really hard to like this book but none of the characters interested me very much. I even set it aside to go back and read later but found I just didn’t care enough to finish. This was surprising to me since I have enjoyed this author’s books in the past. Is she a bad*ss or a wallflower? I couldn’t decide. He is a jerk all around. He has a lot of options to avoid meeting with her but doesn’t have the willpower to do so? Nah. Just not my kind of relationship. Love or lust? The title says lust. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own
The narrative beautifully captures the essence of romantic love, demonstrating how genuine emotional connection can overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The story reveals that when two hearts are truly meant to be together, they will find a way to unite, transcending challenges and proving that authentic love is a powerful and transformative force that can conquer all barriers.
This is a very entertaining story that shows how the heart is not restricted by social boundaries. This steamy at times plot has some wonderfully crafted characters, with the two main ones, having quite a bumpy road to navigate. The extended epilogue gives you an insight into their hopes for the future. I read an ARC copy.
What a beautifully amazing journey of love. The characters were interesting and very entertaining with all the twists and turns of their encounters. A truly amazing story. The extended epilogue gives a look into their happy present and future. Beautifully written. Loved it and highly recommend reading. A wonderful Christmas story.
A good story about love and trust and family A Duke falls for his parlor maid and she falls for him Abigail is a hard worker and she is the one that makes Ezra happy The characters are strong and emotional The extended epilogue completes the story with steam and love and happy family
Really enjoyed the Duke's transformation. So sad that a young child would have to loose his parents and have no other family to help him through. Love and caring helped repair that part of his past.
I really enjoyed this seasonal Christmas story. Enjoyed the developing feelings between the hero and heroine. I love stories were you can feel this kind of love growing and where the strength of that love heals someone and the added bonus is it happens at Christmas a most joyous time of the year.
This tale is kind of romantic, other than the "Demon Duke" hating Christmas, and instead finds love. It's sort of a Christmas Carol with the ghost of the past in the Duke's heart. Abigail is a spirited worman and really gives the Duke a run for his heart. This story has some serious society etiquette blunders, but it's excused because of the Duke being somewhat of a recluse. In the end, it's a fun read.
