Falling for your brother's best friend isn't as fun as it's cut out to be, especially when you're so screwed up that you're terrified of commitment and being locked down.
I crave freedom. I need to let go of the insanity I feel swirling in my head.
But I do something even crazier than getting high or fighting like I always do.
I fall for the one man who hates my guts . . . Blaze.
I'm toxic. I ruin everyone and everything I touch.
And yet . . . all while still needing Blaze, I crave Jonah.
And allowing both of these men to love me is either going to be what saves me . . .
Or what sends me toppling into the deep end.
**This is book one in the Coming Alive Duet. It does end on a cliffhanger. It is an MFM menage.*
Trigger warnings: cliffhanger, pregnancy, drug abuse, two men sharing one woman. Please also note that this book deals with a woman who struggles with the fact that she is pregnant, and she detests every moment of it. If this is a trigger for you, do not read.
T.O. Smith believes in one thing - a happily ever after.

This is the story of Montana. Montana grew up on the streets getting high all the time. Montana is a underground fighter. Montana's mom is a drug user and doesn't care about her. She has a older brother, John, who left for awhile but has now come back in her life. To say Montana has had a rough life would be a understatement. She's suffered a lot of abuse. The only thing she knows how to do is get high so she doesn't have to deal with her emotions. Montana has a run in with her nemesis Blaze also a fighter, and she has to call John and his friend Jonah to come rescue her. Montana and Jonah hook up. John and Jonah decide they will do whatever it takes to get Montana clean. Especially after she finds out she's pregnant. No Montana isn't happy about being pregnant but her life is terrible so how else would she feel? Montana does get clean and she doesn't do anything to harm the baby. Jonah and Blaze care for Montana and start to work together to care for her. Montana needs someone to care for her even if she won't admit it. Montana is scared of people caring for her then walking away. That's why she would always get high except now she can't. Now Montana struggles with her feelings for Jonah and Blaze. Each man offers something the other doesn't. Blaze is hard while Jonah is soft. They make it clear they're not going to give up on her. Even if their relationship is unconventional these men understand Montana. Curious to see what happens in the next book. This book was full of emotions and drama. I really enjoyed the book.

Please read the trigger warnings! This is a reverse harem with enemies to lovers and brothers best friend love interests and has drug use, abuse and an unwanted pregnancy. So I’m not gonna lie this book was hard to keep up with in parts. The storyline it’s self is good and has a lot of promise. However all of the characters emotions were all over the place. There wasn’t a single stable character which just made the read very chaotic. Some parts felt very rushed - the MFC fell pregnant in under 10 chapters not even including the fact that it was the first spicy scene. Lust seems to be the go to distraction which kind of takes away from the possible growth of the storyline, I’m hoping this is something that settles down in the next book - it’s hard to believe in a relationships growth if sex is always used as a distraction as there’s no feeling behind it at that point. I found the pregnancy really hard to read about - mainly Montana’s reaction to it and the decision to pretty much pretend it wasn’t even happening. I get she’s struggling and doesn’t feel ready for a baby but there was no worry or concern about birth control or possible pregnancy before hand. The ending does give me hope for the next book though, so I’m intrigued to see where this goes. Plus I have a slight soft spot for Blaze.

“It’s not right for the two of you to share me” because it doesn’t make any sense at the moment!
3 stars for this one so far, maybe 4.5 stars down the road depending on the second book. This book could stand to be longer. It felt rushed in places. One guy with a soft touch, one with a hard one. The circumstances around getting both seemed a bit odd and more than a little forced. I get Montana’s motivations and maybe her brother’s, but the 2 mmc’s and their relationship with the FMC prior to spicy times doesn’t add up to where it is at the end and where it seems to be going in book 2. I’m interested enough to read the second part of the duet, but with out a much longer book I’m not sure the duet will be satisfying overall.

Wow! What a thrilling page turner. I couldn't put it down (so to speak) This book does have some trigger warnings, so make sure you check before reading! Also ends on a cliffhanger! This author has managed to tackle a few different trigger points very well. I was completely immersed in the story from the off. Montana is a strong woman struggling with a lot of different emotions...with the support of Jonah, Blaze and brother John I'm sure she'll be fantastic! I can't wait to see how this story concludes...

Before reading this, please make sure you read this TW's. There is an unhappy pregnancy and she is extremely sick during it as well. If this bothers you, look away. Both Blaze and Jonah are perfect for Montana in their own ways. One is hard, one is soft and she needs both but most of all she needs to be supported and loved. I really liked her relationship not only with the two of them, but with her brother too. They're both broken and trying to figure a way to be proper siblings to each other. I can't wait for the next book.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the first part of the Coming Alive Duet. It is about Montana, Blaze and Jonah. You will want to pay attention to the trigger warnings that are given before diving in. Also this is just the first part of their complicated relationship. I wasn't sure how this story was going to play out. It had a lot going on and three very different characters. It pulls you in as long as you're prepared for the dark and light.

Montana’s life feels like a constant struggle and things get even more complicated with Jonah and Blaze in the mix. The moments between these three left me hooked to see how well they balance each other out and the changes that needs to happen for them to survive.

This was such a heart wrenching book but so good. It is definitely heavy and covers some heavy topics. I would definitely pay attention to TW. But this stories should be told so others know they aren’t alone.
