Rate this book
2020 and 2021 have been rough. Natural disasters of epic proportions. An ongoing pandemic. A constant barrage of negative information. Unnecessary loss and death. For many, things have never seemed so bad.
But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. The sun always rises, bringing us a new day, with new promise.
For the fourth Short Story Writing Challenge of 2021, the authors were tasked with writing poems and short stories that reflect the Hope and Renewal.
In this anthology you'll find 24 stories or poems written by 10 authors who did their best to find hope, love, and the promise of a new day. These stories will make you laugh, cry, and remind you that this too shall pass.
Get your copy today. And send one to every person you know who needs something to hope for and look forward to. Our goal is to make your day a little brighter!

Michelle has always loved to write and create imaginary worlds. She loves to make people laugh and feel better. Her stories have characters we all know or wish we knew. They find themselves in familiar but dangerous situations and have to find their way out. Men are strong, but loving. Women are smart, funny and strong. They love with all their hearts-family, life, each other. But they tend to get themselves into trouble, and half the fun is wondering how they'll get out of the next jam!
Michelle writes for Sweet Promise Press and also self-publishes. You can find her books on Amazon!

Full disclosure this is an anthology that I have a short story in.

This is an anthology, so it's to be expected the stories will be varied. Everyone will interpret the anthology differently. But Hope and Renewal has stories that are very different.

There's a story about extra dimensional beings (guilty).
A story about a Christmas Eve miracle. (I personally thought this one was the best one n the book.)
Stories of recovery.
And a good amount of poetry.

It's a very short book, easily the shortest of the Challenge anthologies. Hope is apparently a topic many people know how to write about in our current world.

Even after the darkest storm, a new day will dawn. This book is an eclectic mix of short fiction and poetry. My personal preference is not for poetry, so most of those pieces didn’t have the same effect on me as the short stories. And speaking of the stories, keep the tissues handy, because there were several of them that had me tearing up before the end. A couple are maybe a bit fatalistic, but that appealed to my dark sense of humor. Overall, this anthology does a good job reminding us that hope is the last thing ever lost.
