PLEASE READ THE SCMC SERIES BEFORE READING THIS BOOK.

I hit a low - a bad low. One that affected those I loved - that almost got me ripped from my family.

The cherry on top? I became the victim of a rival MC's rage.

I was in the hospital for a while trying to recover, and I got stuck in a psychiatric hospital shortly after that.

And Hatchet - bless his heart - he never gave up on me, even when I begged him to.

I'm trying to rise above it all for him and our kids - above the flashbacks, the fear, the depression. But it's hard.

And I'm not the same woman Hatchet has loved for years. I'll never be that woman again.

Because honestly, I'm not sure if I want to wake up and see the next day.

**this is a spin-off to the SCMC series. This is Layla's story and her road of recovery. It does not have a main focus on the MC.
**This book was written to give readers of the SCMC series closure about Layla.

As part of the Savage Crows MC series Layla has appeared in several books and her attitude has only worsened as the series progressed. I have not had any love for this woman...until now. After reading Layla's story, I need to apologize for hating on her and now all I want to do is hug her. What none of us knew until now were the reasons for Layla's spiral and like the rest of the Savage Crows I should have paid more attention. Layla has been through hell and endured more pain than most people could ever imagine. She's fighting to not just make it through each day but sometimes, she's fighting to make it through an hour. Part of this story hit close to home for me and I think that made it even more amazing - I could relate to the pain and despair that Layla was feeling. I have a newfound love and respect for Layla. But, let me tell you.....Hatchet is an awesome man! The depth of his love and devotion to Layla is a once in a lifetime, never ending love. No matter what she would say or do there was no walking away from his woman. The way he balanced everything and rushed home to be by her side was so heartfelt that you know this man will do anything and everything for the woman he loves. To me this story is not only about overcoming your demons but it's also about having the type of love that will carry you through the darkest hours. That's Hatchet and Layla!

T.O. Smith is one of my favorite authors and this book shows what an amazing writer she truly is with how she handled the sensitive subjects in this story.

Since her introduction in Hatchets book as the woman his heart beat for, life hasn’t been straightforward for Layla, a horrible childhood, the drama around her and Hatchet and then all the stuff with the MC have served to break her down and become a most fragile version of herself. Throughout the series this has manifested in many ways with some having reasoning but others seeming to be just her way…

Well maybe the book isn’t as the cover makes it seem and in this tale we hear the background to what has driven Layla to be the person she is, see the devotion Hatchet has for his wife and watch minor miracles happen.

A dark yet at the same time sweet story of pain love and victory in the face of adversity, this book wraps up neatly any unanswered questions you had about Layla and Hatchet.

After reading the previous books I didn’t know what to think of Layla because of her destructive behavior towards Hatchet, her kids, and the mc. But after reading this spinoff, it was heartbreaking to see what she went through and why she acted out. The author did a great job focusing on both Hatchet and Layla’s feelings, especially the way Hatchet was Layla’s strength when she needed it and would do anything to help heal Layla to get her out of her dark depression. Definitely a good read for those who needed closure for this couple.

This book gives readers a more inside look on Layla because she may not be one of the favorites characters in this series regarding some of the events in the past. This book came solidify that every story as two sides and some of it we may never come to find out. And if you do find out, that issue can cause two people to react in two very different ways.It is in the best interest of the person who is suffering that the one who will help them does not judge them and can only, in is best wishes, try to put themselves in the other person's shoes.

I have been waiting for this book. I knew it would RIP my heart out but I did not know how much Layla would redeem herself. The love these two had was amazing and could withstand anything and did. Amazing once again.

I have been waiting for this one! And it did not disappoint. The wait was well worth it!

I loved diving into the mental health aspect of her life and seeing how far she has come. Layla isn't a favorite for all. But she is for me.

I LOVE that Layla had her story told. Her and Hatchet have been too much for them not to get a HEA
