It's the holiday season and Jayne's selfish behavior receives the unwanted attention of three visiting spirits who reveal the hidden past, present and future of Serenity's most... miserly crew member. A beloved character returns as the Ghost of Firefly Past, while a fellow crew member guides Jayne through the here and now, showing the consequences of his actions in the present. But it's the Ghost of Firefly Future, Emma Washburne, who reveals the most shocking fate of all. Can Jayne turn over a new leaf and avert the disaster headed his way?
Jeff Jensen is an American writer. As a journalist he worked for Entertainment Weekly from 1998 to September 2017, most recently as the publication's television critic.
In 2012, Jensen and artist Jonathan Case won an Eisner Award for their work on the 2011 graphic novel, Green River Killer: A True Detective Story, published in 2011 by Dark Horse Comics.
His first prose novel, Before Tomorrowland, a prequel to the film and co-written with Case, was released on April 7, 2015.
Jednorázový komiks "Firefly Holiday Special" propojuje nejnovější (a bohužel dost mizerný) příběhový úsek vlajkové komiksové řady Firefly i samostatnou minisérii Brand New 'Verse - a jedno i druhé hravě strčí do kapsy!
Pak by se ta aktuálně probíhající katastrofa jménem "Return to Earth That Was", která nemá s Firefly takřka nic společného, snad ještě dala zachránit.
Díky za tuhle parádní jednorázovku, vrátila mi víru v budoucnost komiksů Firefly pod BOOM! Studios.
EN summary:
Far better than the current "Return to Earth That Was" story arc of the main Firefly series. The characters act and talk like themselves again. Jeff Jensen needs to become the main writer of the series ASAP!
i think this holiday tale was pretty precious and i am always a sucker for a christmas carol crossover, in any form. the art style was fun and unique although i admit the formating was a little boring. and also, i want more detail oriented expression on the pages. but thats a personal preference more than anything.
Jayne does A Christmas Carol. Basically this one shot makes up for all the different timelines currently going on in the comics. Other than that, it's just another rehash of the same Dickens classic without much more going for it.
