Very helpful info in this book for my upcoming endurance event. It’s really a great reference book to go back to, but I did read it from start to finish and I learned a lot about foot care and what to do in the case of injury. I like that the authors suggest various products for different foot issues. I will also be creating the little aid kits that the authors recommend to take with me during my event.
This book should be called The Foot Bible. Essential reading for distance runners, hikers, and any other endurance athletes who spend a lot of time on their feet. But it's so comprehensive that it's extremely useful for just about everyone else who has feet. And many of the techniques can easily apply to other body parts as well.
There are chapters on everything from blister prevention and treatment to sprained ankles, athletes foot and orthodics. Along with numerous case studies, expert advice, product recommendations, etc.
All written in clear language that doesn't require a medical degree to understand and won't put you to sleep.
Probably more info than you need! But likely covers your specific issue. Great blister info for hikers or runners. Would recommend for people who are having foot issues from long distances.
The definitive book for runners to learn how to care for their feet. I've been running for years, yet I had no idea how little I actually knew about preventing and treating blisters and other foot problems. A must-read for anyone who runs or hikes long distances.
I did not know that there was so much involved in terms of foot care for athletes and runners. Feet are an oft neglected part of the body and skimming through this helped me understand certain basic ideas.
-Really helpful in a lot of areas and really comprehensive -A lot of the content inside the book is repeated -Clip toenails straight across the top, and file as needed -Massage scar tissue to assist with the healing process -Tendons/ligaments take longer to adapt
I may need better hobbies, but this textbook on foot care was RIVETING. I especially appreciated the details on blister care and prevention as I tend to suffer from them in longer races.
Fantastic book for ultra runners. Saved my feet during Javelina Jundred. Finished a 100k in dry dusty conditions with 1 tiny blister at the very end. Highly reccomend for everyone
