Beg for Me Vol. 1
****
I love Willow Winter’s books, and am all for reading her books in order. I am so glad I purchased the first volume of Beg for Me.
A Kiss to Tell
Sebastian, what a heartthrob. Definitely morally grey, but wants to protect Chloe, which I do not fault. I honestly did not like how he lied to her about the list, and about how the deaths were not a coincidence. She was stressed and anxious, and he knew exactly why, and he failed to tell her so that she would stay with him. That was angering, but understandable.
And the way he took care of her after he took her virginity was so sweet, he was so worried about her, but Chloe 100% should have told him beforehand. The ending was a bit anti-climactic, with some holes left in the story, and after finishing the entire volume, I am glad some of those holes were filled.
Possessive
Daniel, wow, talk about baggage. Same with Addison, don’t get me wrong. I felt like this book was more of a back story for Tyler than it was about Addison and Daniel, and I am not sure how I feel about that. Daniel is the second oldest Cross brother, and a perfect combination of both Carter and Jase, hard, but has a sensitive side.
This was a cute little second change romance type book, and I say second chance because both Addie and Daniel were able to get a second chance at healing and love.
Merciless series
Carter, the beast. Absolutely a Beauty and Beast retelling. The entire four books had me on edge, and in all honestly, Carter is not my favourite Cross brother. He manipulated and lied, not only to himself, but to his family and Aria as well. I know the Beauty and Beast story, and how it is a happily ever after, but I feel it could have happened in the third book, as the back and forth of her leaving him then coming back was getting sort of old.
The death of Eli did get to me, even though he was just a secondary character, it still got me.
Overall, the six books in this volume had be captivated for a solid 5 days. (I have trouble reading tiny font).
