After becoming Leader and Goddess of the Muses, Laurel Berg has been able to do what she could never fully achieve as a mortal--inspiring others and giving them the spark. But as the holidays draw near, her first holiday as a Greek goddess with the love of her life, Apollo, she strives to create an entirely new spark. A Yule celebration full of dancing and singing in a cabin in the mountains, welcoming the sun with the sun god himself.

An adult romance writer who has been writing since she could pick up a pencil. After the insanity of obtaining a bachelor’s and master’s degree in cybersecurity, creating worlds to escape to still ate at her very soul. She started writing FanFiction (which can still be found if you scour the internet 😉 ), and soon felt the need to get her original ideas on paper. And so the adventure began.
She lives in Colorado with her husband and two fur babies, and revels in an enemies to lovers trope with a slow burn.
Holy mistletoe! Apollo was awesome before and even more so here. I absolutely LOVED how he doted on Laurel. She was his everything and watching him with her during such a special, human, time of the year was cute, fun and so heartwarming. I absolutely loved all the very special things he did for her.
It was so sweet watching Laurel prepare for her first time hosting the holiday party for their group of friends and family. The fact she was able to fulfill a guest list that was a special treat for Apollo was absolutely precious. This couple manages to re-win my heart each time I read about them.
This is a fast read but it’s absolutely perfect for a quick break during your holiday tasks and activities. Definitely recommending this one for a feel good read with a favorite god and his woman.
This Contemporary Mythos novella was just what I needed to get me out of my reading slump! Featuring my two favorite characters, Apollo and Laurel, was the icing on the cake! I love being able to have a glimpse into one of their holidays and what better setting than Christmastime! The nostalgia mixed with Apollo’s fireworks really made me fall in love with the Yule season! My only complaint is that I want more and more! I can’t wait for the next novella in February. I have my guesses on who will be featured! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶 Readability: Easy to understand Flow: Fast Pacing
This was such a festive novella featuring some fun couples. It was super short and sweet. I think after the other novella's I was expecting more, but it was still a delight to see what was delivered here. We get the joining of Eros and Ares and Athena and it was fun to see them having a yule dinner together and loved the baby angel. I have had so much fun with this world that Carly Spade has created and have enjoyed these fun holiday novellas that get us to see these couples HEA's and interacting with each other.
I absolutely loved being back with my favorite couple and seeing how Apollo and Laurel decided to spend the holidays. They are as cute as ever. This was such a refreshing and easy read. Also super cute! It’s the perfect book to pick up when you need something quick and cute! I can’t wait until the next one!
Such a fun feel good read. the perfect pick me up. I read it in an evening while the little watched tv and it made me feel all festive. Carly Spade does it again. I love all her books, this one is no different.
Apollo and Laurel are back for a short but sweet story in celebration of Yule. I love how Apollo is determined to make his spark (Laurel) happy. If I loved Apollo before, now I'm so in love with this character. From the Rockstar in stage and Greek God, he has become so much more. Laurel has open his heart and she is the perfect person for him.
Is so sweet to see this couple get into the Yule celebration, having old traditions but also making new ones. Also the romantic details from Apollo were the best.
So if you are looking for a quick but sweet read then this is the book for you.
I haven’t read any of the books in Spade’s Mythos series. I own them, but haven’t read them. This short book was the perfect introduction to the series. If the other books are anything like this one, I’m going to enjoy them.
Spade has taken Greek gods and put them in a modern setting with a unique twist. This particular tale focuses on Apollo and his wife as they celebrate Christmas. If you’re a fan of Greek mythology you should give this book a try.
It's hard to write a review about a story this short, however, if you've read the series and fell in love with these characters, and I'd say it's hard not to, these short stories are perfect to get into the Holiday spirit. In this short story Apollo and Laurel share some of their Christmas traditions and have some gifts prepared for each other. The result is a short story filled with heartwarming Christmas moments and loads of love.
Short and sweet romantic story featuring Apollo and Laurel from the author’s Contemporary Mythos series finds them spending Yule in a remote cabin. Closed door romance for adults.
This is a good holiday palette cleanser or a great way to help pad your end of month/year reading challenges if you’re inclined. I was just happy to revisit an author I plan on spending more time on her catalog after the holidays.
I love these novellas giving glimpse beyond the main books. This was everything you could hope for in a yuletide story, warmth, laughter, family, food and the cutest doggo ever. Loved catching up with some if the others characters as well. Can't wait fir the next one
While reading this it finally clicked that these are short story spin offs of a different series. I'm going to have to check out the main stories before continuing. This one focused on Apollo and Laurel during yuletide/Christmas. It was cute and a quick read. I'm excited to try out their main story to learn more about how they got there .
First of all do you wanna build a snowman, make snow angels etc love it. Guys he got her a dog! This was a cute little romance I could not ask for more. Other than maybe a couple more family members., and a little more puppy time.

I'll be honest here, I don't read holiday themed stories. But I made an exception for Carly Spade's latest short story, and I'm so happy I did! Lighthearted, magical, and actually made me feel festive!
Laurel and Apollo create the perfect, cozy Yuletide celebration. A huge fan of Carly Spade's Contemporary Mythos collection, I am truly enjoying these holiday short stories.
There is magic in these pages, the magic of love, family, and togetherness.
Another great short story to follow up with our couples around the holidays. Focus on Apollo and Laurel.
I love how we continue to get glimpses into the couples from the Contemporary Mythos series. Even if they are small ones. Helps to keep everyone connected.
I enjoyed this novella but think I would have enjoyed it more having read the other books in this series. However, having said that, I did enjoy the take on Apollo’s character.

“Inspiration is defined as the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially creative.”
“I never hated you, Apollo. I just never wanted to get my heart crushed. And I mean—it was an Apollo’s Suns guitar pick.”
What short and sweet mini story with Laurel and Apollo. I enjoyed all the traditional Yule celebrations and having the gods and goddesses get together as a family. I love these short side stories.
So far this is the better of these novellas. But I’m not in love with them. Since you know they are a couple the mystery and intrigue is missing. This one has the best steamy scene but not many. They are glossed over.
Apollo and Laurel get away to a cabin in the woods so Laurel can celebrate Yule with her god husband. Traditions are made and a special visit to the Underworld to her sister goddess is the perfect topping.
This was so sweet and I love them together so much!!!
It is nice to have these extended stories of the characters we love. I cannot wait to read the rest and hopefully get some insight of why these Gods all of a sudden start getting their soul mates. Something big is going to happen but wonder which way it will go after Zeus's book.
Fun Seasonal Novella I really enjoyed this quick little holiday read featuring Apollo and his lady love, Laurel. The story was heartwarming, full of holiday time feels and romance.
