Windy is the third and final book in The Weather Girls trilogy. While you might be okay reading this as a standalone, I feel like this is definitely one that is best enjoyed reading as a series in order. There is a lot of background given about the family and the sisters in each book, and each one picks up shortly after the other left off, so you really are going to get the most complete picture by reading it as a whole. I had personally really enjoyed the series up to this point, and found myself looking forward to Windy's story most of all.
For those alive in the 70s, there are definitely a lot of reference to pop culture and fashion and such that I think you will enjoy--- this being long before my time, I caught a few, but I know there were many more that I didn't personally understand. Regardless, the author did a good job of transporting readers back in time and creating a fun story that I so enjoyed reading. While I'm not sure I was quite ready to say goodbye to these sisters just yet, it was a good end to the series. If you enjoy historical fiction, this is certainly one to check out--- after reading the first two books first, of course!
