For the most part this book expounds the first amendment and it does a great job of it. It also reveals the importance of the 10th amendment and what we have lost since the 14th amendment has made individual righs apply to the States.

Gibbs lays a foundation for law under God and walks through key matters of the founding documents of the United States, explaining their importance to Christianity.

Gibbs does a wonderful job taking Christians from the foundational notion of government being God's idea and how that shaped what our Founding Fathers thought about America's beginning. He walks through the Declaration of Independence, the failed Articles of Confederation, and then the Constitutional Convention. He takes the Bill of Rights and discusses them separately.

He then gives a vast amount of the book to deal with the First Amendment - giving case law and historical precedents. He then shows why we are losing so much of our rights today which is namely that common law is dead. This is detrimental for coming generations if they are going to hold to these founding principles.

Take this as a slow read. Some arguments are dense, but it is mostly written in an accessible way for all Christians.

This is a simplified primer of what our Constitution says. I was looking to get something more out of it, but if your understanding of the Constitution is weak this book will be a help. I was also somewhat dissappointed in how poorly it was cited.

OK, for a book about the Constitution..... it was pretty good.
