I didn't know that werewolves were real until I met one close-up, face to face. Bad breath and all.

Now I’m a werewolf, and still working on my hospital residency. When the bad guys came back, I ended up at the local pack house to sort out my new werewolf life. Except there is a family of witches that has a spell that can turn werewolves into mindless slaves, and only I can save us.

Why? Turns out I’m a witch, too. If I want to keep my own furry hide and those of the other werewolves intact, I need to decide how far I’ll go to save us all.

Little Wolf is part of the Torrin Pedersen Chronicles, an urban fantasy trilogy with romantic elements. Each book ends in a HFN (Happy-For-Now) or an HEA and can be read alone -- although it’s really better together.

I enjoyed this book but it's shaping up to be a love triangle in book #2 and I want her to have both guys because they're both good guys, and if she chooses one the other will miss out 😭 Reading reverse harems have ruined me lol

There are no smexy times in this book because Torrin is too busy adjusting to her new reality after she was bitten and turned by a rogue wolf. Although the mystery of the rogues was solved by the end of the book, I felt that no good explanation was given for why they went after her. If Zaleria was correct and that the rogues wished to bring Torrin to Zaleria, then why would they attack her, and why try to turn her? The attack that Torrin faced initially seems to suggest that the rogue wanted to kill her.

I liked Torrin a lot. She is spunky, determined, capable, and independent -- but not in a TSTL way. She advocates for herself and wouldn't allow the two alphas (Mark and Galen) push her aside as they investigated the odd happenings. I also liked Mark and Galen; they were respectful of her boundaries and at the same time demonstrated the best traits of an alpha -- strong, protective, and caring. Both were good leaders of their respective packs and like I said, both would make a good mate for Torrin.

I thought Torrin's work seemed to take a backseat once she got bitten and the story ramped up. It was like suddenly she doesn't seem to need to go into work anymore? And her best friend and co-worker, Maya, is forgotten and never contacts her to ask what's going on? She said that taking a week off is unlike her, so I'm sure Maya would have been curious. To me, this was an oversight on the part of the author.

Also, nothing is mentioned about Torrin's family. Presumably they don't live nearby, but would she tell them what had happened to her? How is it going to affect their relationship? Will she feel guilty to keep secrets from them, if she is close to her parents and normally confides in them? The way Torrin is written, it's almost like she's an orphan and has no friends, since she can move into the packhouse and no one in her life even notices or needs to be informed. It's another minor flaw which would have helped the story be more complete and anchored.

However, I thought the world-building was decent. I would have liked to know more about the connection between the wolves and witches -- do they generally co-exist peacefully next to one another, or is there some distrust and animosity? The story was told solely in Torrin's point of view (first-person POV) and that works because it's basically a story of what happened to her and how she dealt with the new world that she was thrust into. As I said, no relationship stuff or smexy stuff yet, but it looks like it's coming in book #2.

Very entertaining

I like that the main character is head strong and knows what she wants. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about her magical side. Can't wait for the next book.

I absolutely loved this book! The heroine is smart, she is strong willed, and she is strong! I love that she has both great boundaries and understands her limits. So many times we get heroines who are stubborn and they do stupid things. In her case she demands her own way, but listens when it’s necessary.

This was one of the funnest werewolf books I have read! And there’s more to this series. I really hope it holds up. This book does set us up for a love triangle that I do not understand how it’s going to be resolved. I absolutely adore both men And I don’t know how she’s going to pick.

After reading some other people’s reviews, I do have to agree that this book does not remember that she might’ve had a life outside of the werewolves. No mention of her best friend after the beginning or her job. But I can live with that. I just love a strong and smart heroine and I can deal with a lot of other things if I have that.

Fun New Series . . .

Dr. Torrin Pedersen sat in the bar drinking some sort of pink drink, trying to appease her friend Maya who insisted this bar was a hotspot for meeting guys. This was her second drink and no one had approached. This just wasn’t her thing. As she tried to leave in her uncomfortable shoes that barely let her walk a straight line. She stepped on a guy’s foot, tried to keep from piercing the foot with her heel which put her off-balance. She ended us flinging her elbow and purse into his face and falling into the lap of the guy sitting next to him. She jumped up and backed into a third guy as she was trying to apologize to everyone else. Embarrassed, she turned and ran into a black leather jacket and a powerful chest. Fortunately, he held her arms and stopped her progress toward the door before she harmed anyone else. She mumbled something under her breath, but he still apparently heard her over the bar noise and chuckled.

Torrin walked home and called it a night. She heard something at her door and used an odd skill only she had where she could look through doors or walls and see an aura. The one she saw in the hall was heading for the stairs, so she went to bed. But she had a dream of an animal and she felt strange the next morning, sort of fuzzy. And something urinated on her apartment door out in the hall. Was it someone’s dog? Or maybe a drunk? She jumped over it and headed to work.

All through the meeting, she felt shivers and couldn’t concentrate. When she searched her shoulder bag for her planner, she ran into someone – the same man from the bar! He started to sniff her, nostrils flaring, and he wouldn’t let her go as he looked grim. He asked where she had been, still holding her in place. He wanted to meet her later to talk, but her friend Maya showed up and dragged her away. As she walked toward the parking lot that evening, she heard an odd sound in the woods and got nervous. She ran for the car and locked it as something thumped on the hood. A shadowy form was wrestling a huge furry dog, trying to drag it away from her car. He carried the dog to the woods as she raced away in her car. He was probably the owner of the dog. When will she discover she has been turned into a werewolf and her whole life is about to change?

I really enjoyed this book. There is much more going on and she really needs to talk to the guy she bumped into twice now. He can clarify so much of what her strange day is turning into. Grab your copy and enjoy!

DNF.

I just don't care for love triangles.

I still gave it 3 stars, because apart from that, the writing and story and development were all quite interesting. But, the love triangle took up the last half of the book, basically consuming it, so I just stopped being interested. It was immature, unnecessary and just not for me.

It would've been so much more interesting if it were kept to 1 pack, 1 alpha, and the story concentrated on her being a doctor that was turned (very interesting!), instead of reducing her to a hormonal 16-year old with boys' tongues hanging out, panting while circling around her. It was pathetic to see alphas act like that. I lost interest.

A well-written book that hooked me in and kept me there!

I loved Little Wolf, and especially loved that Torrin had common sense both before and after she was changed into a werewolf. Someone who already completed med school and was almost done with her residency would have self-will and determination in spades. I also liked how she approached her witchcraft and trying to learn about it, and how the alphas were struggling but still working to support her. Going to start the second book right now! Highly recommend!

Great writing. A reluctant heroine that falls into a trap through no fault of her own, and fights for her life, but that life is irrevocably altered. Nevertheless, the rises to the challenge and manages to fight for herself, but also saves her new adopted family.

Main characters are well developed, believable, and endearing. Pacing and editing are great. A pleasant lack of common tropes. Lesser characters, while less well developed, do not feel like hollow shells.

R for graphic violence and some mild language. No sex.

The other day, someone posted a link for a stuff your kindle event. I found this sweet series and have enjoyed reading all 3 books. For a debut novel this book really blew me away. The author did such a good job creating the characters and shaping the story. I enjoyed getting to know Torrin and her two Alphas Galen and Mark. This series has warewolfs, witches and vampires along with a few other supernaturals. The story is clean and leaves you with all the feels. Good Job Jen B Green! I cannot wait to read Dee's story! GM book with no spice or language.

Great start to a new series

Little Wolf is a great start to a new series by a anew author. I.am impressed with the quality, storyline and world building of this book, especially as a first book. Torrin's story is fun to watch unfold. She discovers she has been turned into a wolf and is a witch. She seems to handle all the changes very well. Of course 2 handsome alphas make life better. This is a clean story good for teens and up.

It's well written and the fmc is really good and handles the storyline she's a part of really well. Looking forward to diving into book two shortly to continue Torrin 's story.

Little Wolf

Great start to the series! I like that it wasn't a typical wolf story and not easily guessed on what would happen next. Great story line and plots. I am looking forward to seeing who is chosen. #TeamGalin

I liked it

It's a cute story. I like the world building and the characters choices are believable. This part is how she became a werewolf and is mostly an action story with hints that the next book would be purely romance. .

I enjoyed this quite a bit for a first book. Torrin is a smart woman, who accepted a situation completely outside her wheelhouse with grace and intelligence. Definitely a good start to a series, and I'll be checking out the rest.

This is a pretty good series and Torrin is a solid main character. It's easy to read and I breezed through the three books.

Lore is pretty good, plot is pretty good. I don't normally care for love triangles, but this was handled well.

There are some typos and editing issues (especially in the third book), but overall worth the read if you like wolf shifters, witches, and urban fantasy.

Running definitely changes things.
While out running to ease her mind Torrin is attacked and what happens to her doesn't help as in fact it rather complicates her life. Excellent story.
