Author Clara Lewis has always been an avid fan of mysteries. As a child, she devoured the “Nancy Drew” and “Hardy Boys” series’s, which inspired her desire to write her own mystery thrillers. Though Clara’s journey took her in several different directions, she eventually published her debut series early in 2021.

Besides spending her time creating vast worlds and convoluted mysteries for her readers to divulge in, Lewis spends her time at her home in Portland, Oregon. As a mother and wife, she wears many hats, and can often be found baking and crocheting.

Lewis always had a passion for creating, and she wants nothing more than to provide the same thrills she loves to her readers. She loves to read (and smell) books just as much as she loves to write them! She has several projects in the works, and can’t wait to share them with her audience.

Thank you to Clara Lewis for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Women are dying and their deaths appear to be from heart attacks. However, are they really dying from heart attacks or is something more sinister involved? When one woman dies, her son refuses to believe his mother died from a heart attack, and he insists that she would never take any drugs, much less overdose on any drug. Detective Angelina Lagarde is serving as Chief in this book, and she is determined to find out what is going on with these deaths. You will be engrossed in this story from the very beginning of this book. You will be shocked in the end to see the pure evil and spitefulness of some people! This is a quick read that will entertain you if you enjoy a good drama and mystery!

This series continues to be amazing, filled with suspense, and wonder. Detective Angelina Lagarde Chief of the police department is puzzled as several women on the same street have died of a heart attack. When does it stop being a coincidence she wonders. She also meets a man who sets her heart into a wild flutter. He keeps popping up when she least expects it. This case has her really confused as to why, and how these women are dying. You don’t have to read the books in order but you must read all of them. If you don’t you are just cheating yourself out of a great series.

Chief Angelina Lagarde’s next case involves women who have been dying of heart attacks. As the number of deaths increases, Angelina realizes that this can’t be a coincidence. She meets a new man, perhaps future love interest (?), and unfortunately his mother becomes one of the dead women. Angelina is determined to track this case down to the end. I love seeing how she works through the clues towards solving the crime. I enjoy this character. I like that while this is a series, each book is a different case.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

This is a well written Inter tainting murder mystery. When detective Lagarde learns about several women’s deaths of apparent heart attack, and all from the same area, she start to suspect foul play. As she digs deeper she finds that all were caused by an anti-depressant overdose. How was it administered? Who could be the suspect? This is an engaging mystery with interesting twists and turns. I look forward to reading further books in the series.

Once again, Clara Lewis has succeeded in writing a great mystery. When women keep dying in the same manner on the same street, it raises questions. Detective Lagarde gets to work finding answers.

This book had me guessing until the end. I couldn't wait to find out who did it and why. This is definitely a book you should enjoy if you like mystery and a great quick read.

I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.

Detective Eve Legarde is now Chief Legarde. I liked the promotion of Eve to Chief of Police and seeing that she is still involved with cases on the street. The author has applied an interesting premise to a serial killer’s method of preying on women in an apparently unsolvable manner. There quickly are too few pages to turn and you are left craving more and the next book in the series - can you guess the author’s intent? I received a free ARC for an honest review.

Received as ARC. Angelina faces what appears to be a string of heart attacks in women on the same street. But this is not normal, and after meeting Ben Smith, whose mother was one of the victems, she digs deeper and finds evidence of murder. Great story, and the conversations are becoming more natural.

I forget how bad the last one was. I wasn't going to read any more of her books. After the first page I knew I made a mistake in getting this book. I was right. Not worth the time.
