RUN FOR OFFICE, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

After a major screw up, Detective Sergio Martin gets suspended—right as his partner Carly Sanderson is thrust into the spotlight on Tampa Bay This Morning for taking down the Seminole Heights serial killer. When a random sniper begins a shooting spree, Carly is assigned to lead the investigation, and Sergio must watch from the sidelines.
To keep his mind off his problems, Sergio assists his new friend Tyree with security for a large, outdoor mayoral debate. With the sniper’s body count increasing, they recommend cancelling the event—but one candidate fears doing so will make him look weak to voters. Meanwhile, rising star Carly can’t seem to catch a break with a killer that has the city on edge, and who may find the outdoor debate too tempting to resist.

Blood chilling, terrorizing, mayhem, serial
murder, arson, explosions with plenty of
deadly intrigue, action and adventure.
Talented writing with three dimensional,
multifaceted, well fleshed out, colorful
and vivid characters involved in a well
plotted, power packed thriller.
The setting is Tampa, Florida where there
is a serial killer on the loose plus the reader
will take part in the interactions of the
police department and a political campaign.
I felt like I was a part of each of the characters
experiences with the detailed description
written into the story.
I felt the intrigue that was heightened to
mountainous proportions filled with tension,
drama plus plenty of suspense, thrills, chills,
twists and turns.
This story grips you from the beginning. It
intensifies until the final word.
I volunteered to read Primary Target. Thanks
to the author for the opportunity. My opinion
is voluntary and my own.

Primary Target is a great thriller with quite a few twists and turns that keeps you hooked from the beginning to the end. The characters are relatable either because of their flaws or their good deeds but in the backdrop there's the underlying need of power, control, money and other riches. This book puts together all the whispered things we hear during election time - the good and the bad - that can make a candidate win or loose and also the importance of his/her team players in solving problems and controlling all aspects of a political campaign. The main character is very wise and is most of the time able to make everyone believe on her, let's see how her story goes on the next book of this series. This book is a really interesting and enjoyable reading.
As a member of the author's review team I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

The PRIMARY TARGET, has everything planned.
The police just, don't know it.

Piece by piece, falling into place.
Just the way, hoped it would.

Comes along a, very smart pair.
If they could, get act together.

There's just so, much going on.
Looks like everything, is falling apart.

Where is it, all leading to?
Appears that only, time will tell.

Carefully follow along, quite intriguing story.
Ahead for us, lots of surprises.

Some figure out, others stay hidden.
Until later outright, exposed to all.

Now breathe deeply, prepare for ride.
On roller coaster, that's called life.

Well Mr. Alatorre has done it again! He has given us a book that is impossible to put down, even when your head knows you have lots of other things you should be doing! I absolutely loved the characters of Carly and Sergio they are detectives on the Tampa police department. But things are getting shook up in the department and both detectives are not sure what their future is going to look like especially poor Sergio when he gets himself into a high speed car chase in his partner's Camero. Even though Bree has huge secrets I couldn't help but like her. She is the campaign manager for the election of the new Mayor and she is one busy lady! You don't want to miss this new thriller, as things are definitely happening in Tampa that you will want to know about. Lots of suspense, action and romance a really great book that has left me wanting more! Can't wait for the next book!
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is totally my own honest opinion.

Another fast-paced, Dan Alatorre thriller!

Detective Sergio Martin is still on medical leave after a battle with a knife-wielding criminal during their last case. His partner Detective Carly Sanderson finds herself leading the case to catch a new serial killer without him and, after his latest rule-breaking “incident”, their partnership may be over. The killer appears to be randomly targeting victims with no links to each other and the need to provide security during the current election is straining the already strained police resources.

The suspense was gripping and the slow-drip of clues kept me glued to the pages. It was masterful the way Alatorre used the partner’s separation to drive the subplots. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. Dan Alatorre is a genius at creating page-turning crime thrillers.

amazing book! there is a sniper on the loose in Tampa and Carly is forced to go it without her long time partner Marty. Marty is on medical leave from being stabbed from a previous take down when he got the call that pd has a tip on the man that killed his partner and then went deep into hiding. the only problem is the man take off before pd is fully set up leaving him no choice but to chase him, in his partner's personal car. he gets the guy but in the process the high speed chase puts civilians in major danger and ends with his partner's prized car in Tampa Bay and Marty on suspension, looking at being fired. Carly is looking at a promotion if she can catch the sniper, and with the political debate scheduled soon and planned to be outside she needs every break she can get. will Carly get the sniper in time and prevent more deaths?

this book literally had me guessing what the heck was next and until the reveal of the person responsible I literally had NO CLUE who it was. I highly recommend this to anyone who like mystery suspense or just an all around great read!

A fast paced thriller that keeps you guessing. You just have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. This is the second book in this series with Carly and Sergio, detectives in the Tampa PD. Two characters that you can't help but love and continually root for. Love Dan's books. He is a strong writer who can certainly twist a tale. This book contains suspense, murder, backstabbing, twists, loyalty, a bit of humor and a touch of romance. The storyline is believable and well written but a bit scary if it happens in real life. Won't disappoint. Quite some twists at the end. Make sure to read Double Blind, first book in the series. You can read this as a standalone but will have much more impact if you read Double Blind first. Highly recommend!!! Received an ARC and this is my voluntary honest review.

Woah 🤯 this book had so many twists and turns. And the ending seriously was not expecting some of it. Dan is the king of plot twists in thrillers that make you say what!!!! No way. Excited for the next book in this series. And I just adore Sergio and Carly. Also the killer is the last person you expect it to be too.

Numerous murders and a con woman with secrets.

Several murders, committed by someone not suspected. Conning everyone including a mayoral candidate. Then staging her own death to rise again in future books.

Killing Machine

This book gave me quite an adrenaline rush. Dan Alatorre takes you on a rollercoaster rid. The intense suspense and fast paced action is gut wrenching. With her partner, Sergio, temporarily suspended, Carly is tasked with apprehending a murderous sniper. The sniper is devious and deadly. Will the sniper outwit the law by being one step ahead of the game? I enjoyed the twists and turns. Highly recommended

A page turner but with glaring flaws. No question Mr. Alatorre can pull you in, but you have to suffer through occasional eye-rolling, inane dialogue; several unlikeable characters; multiple procedural issues that don't seem correct and an unsatisfying and incomplete ending. Fine for a beach read but, with apologies to Gerry Maguire, "this book does not complete me."

Serial killer in Miami with cops and a love story churn up excitement and suspense - 4.5 stars

The story of a copycat killer sith meticulous planning overlaid with a political primary, police politics and a hovering phalanx of TV news reporters keeps the blood flowing. Innocent people are killed by a psychopath who gets high on seeing the victims die.

One "good guy" policeman, Sergio, goes well beyond the call of duty to do what is right, sometimes going beyond police procedures and protocols. Carly, Sergio's partner of four years, tries to balance a family with small children, a demanding job and an mostly absent husband.

An ambitious lawyer, Abbie, who has been buying amphetamine-type drugs knows the dealers and manages to keep her illegal drug usage hidden. She wants to be a partner in a law firm.

The mid-level cop, Don Davis, wants to enhance is reputation at the expense of everyone who works for him. Depicting Lieutenant Davis and his goal of outshining everyone else, internal Police politics is done well.

While raising money to expert levels, Politicians need money to run for office. Conflicts between campaign managers Bree and Cicely raise the temperature.

The exchanges between the traffic cops who make stops base on tips are great vignettes.

Somehow author Dan Alatorre manages to keep the excitement high as surprises are revealed. Primary Target is a good read, the second of a three part series.

Set in America during an election campaign this story covers all the controversy and hype that you might expect. However there is a killer leaving an indelible mark on the campaigns. A serial killer appears out of the blue. The victims are shot from a distance and police can find no reason for the choice of victims and no link between them. The town is about to hold a debate between two candidates but this could provide an easy target for this evil marksman. Move it indoors or take that chance?
The story has many twists and turns, keeping you guessing until the very end. The characters are very believable, whatever their personal traits and background. The killer obviously has something in mind, something that is putting innocent people at huge risk. Every little clue must be followed up in an attempt to stop this crime from escalating even further. Will they stop the perpetrator in time or will this escalate?
I received this book directly from the author as a free read and review copy. This review is a true reflection of that read.

In a story that could only be centered in Florida, a sniper is shooting random persons in the midst of a Tampa mayoral race. Carly and Sergio are separated because of Sergio's suspension and so Carly must work with a new Lieutenant and a new team. Sergio must find new employment in the hope of rejoining the force and he must also find new associates. The thrills begin on page one and continue through the finish as politics begin to take its toll on the investigation. The politicians and their teams plot against each other, but who are the good guys. The seemingly unrelated deaths begin piling up as we learn the motivations of the characters. Cleverness abounds. The web of clues and people require that the reader pays attention to all the details. The fast pace of the story and the number of characters make the story more enjoyable and involving. This is a first-rate read, not easy to put down. Highly recommended.

This book was simply AMAZING! Book two in the Double Blind series does not require you to read book one (but you should). Carla and Sergio, crackerjack detectives each have their own separate but finally connected side story in this riveting thriller. Although they are THE stars in the story, they do take a back seat to a warped sniper whose actions and thought process can be only described as psychopathic! Easy to follow story that is well developed as are the characters, and starts out action-packed from the beginning. We meet some new characters in this book, as well as revisit some that you love to love and love to hate. That's all I'll divulge, you just have to get this must-read...my only disappointment is that it ended, and now I have to wait for the next one. I received a complimentary copy of this book and an offering my own, unsolicited review. All opinions voiced here are mine and mine alone.

The Tampa detective team from Double Blind, Carly and Sergio, are back — but not together. Sergio’s suspended from duty, and Carly’s being groomed for a promotion. A serial killer is particularly blood curdling and must need a good Calendar app to keep track of all the murders committed. No one sees or hears the sniper, so no one has a clue where the sniper nest is, and not even the sparse evidence can be found. With multiple murders in a day, the city’s wild with fear. To say this continuing mystery is a nail biter is an understatement; targets are all ages and are cut down doing disparate things in different parts of the city. Alatorre’s books are always engrossing, with believable characters and amazing, ever-evolving plots. Once I start reading, I can’t stop. Thanks for another good read!

Fantastic story. It grabs you for the first page and doesn't let up. It keeps you turning pages and you want to finish the story but at the same time you don't want the story to end. Sergio and Carly are cops and partners. Sergio likes taking risks and that gets him in trouble with his superiors. Carly is lead on some cases while Sergio is suspended for his actions. There are multiple story lines to follow but it isn't hard. And by the end, they are all intertwined and lead to a nice conclusion. Don't want to give away anything that happens but it's a great story and I can't wait for the next one in the series.

This story made you feel like you were there every step of the way. The police characters are familiar if you have read Double Blind. It makes you feel as if the serial killer is watching you and waiting. Even though this book was very fast paced you couldn’t put it down for a second. The psychopathic sniper was very elusive but you had to keep reading to see what happened next. Highly recommend this authors books, they keep you at the edge of your seat until the end. Action/adventure/mystery/thriller doesn’t even begin to describe this book it’s so much more.
I was given this book for an unsolicited review of the story

This is the second book in the Double Blind-series, and it's even better than the first one.
Key ingredients: police detectives Martin and Sanderson, manipulation and favouritism in the police force, a very cunning and crafty sniper on a killing spree, a burnt-orange Camaro with black hood stripes that takes a dive, a local political campaign and a bit of romance.
A page-turning read with cinematic potential and plot twists from start to finish!
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Primary Target. This action packed, edge of your seat serial killer cop investigation story is, without a doubt, among the best stories of the year. It's filled with schemers and dreamers, good cops and bad, posers and politicians and a mass murderer with veins full of ice instead of blood.
If you're a fan of lovable put unconventional cops and scheming villains, this book will leave you breathless and begging for more.
