The AF Series
Stranded AF
An impromptu trip to Australia. Two adults who’d made a pact as kids to remain friends forever. Two precocious children. Two huge unruly dogs. What could possibly go wrong?
Everything. Everything could go wrong. And it did.
When Liam Scott looked up and saw Frankie Thompson standing in the doorway of his office, he’d almost had to pick himself up from the floor. Frankie showing up meant one thing: she needed his help. He’d never been able to turn Frankie down, and he couldn’t turn her down this time, either. Liam would do anything for Frankie—always had, always would.
So, he packed up his kids and took off for Australia. The plan was simple: visit the zoo, maybe do some snorkeling, some outback sightseeing with his children…and spend some time with Frankie.
For her part, Frankie had loved Liam for more than twenty-five years. She’d needed him and he’d come, just as she’d known he would.
And now they were stranded af in the middle of nowhere, and it was all Frankie’s fault.
But what if getting lost meant finally finding it all?
Everything. Everything could go wrong. And it did.

Tammy Falkner
67 books3,180 followersTammy Falkner lives on a farm in a lovely, sprawling little town in rural NC with her beekeeper husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two (or five – who has time to count?). As half of the Lydia Dare team, she has co-written ten books, including the Westfield Wolves series and the Gentlemen Vampyre series. A huge fan of Regency England, she often wonders what other kinds of magical, mythical and strange creatures might live and interact within the ton. Exploring the theory that the fae can walk between Regency England and their own land, Tammy spends as much time as possible with the lords and ladies of society, horse-drawn carriages, and elegant balls. Now add to that some faeries, a little murder, a bit of mayhem, and a troublesome garden gnome, and you have her exciting new series. She hopes you enjoys her world as much as she does.

Where are the extra stars when you need them? I mean, WOW, just WOW! It’s the kind of book that needs more than 5 stars because it captivates you, makes you feel and stays with you for a very long time. I absolutely loved it.
I'm not even sure where to start. Stranded AF is about survival, friendship, self-discovery, growth and yes, of course it’s also about love.
I inhaled this story about Frances (Frankie) Thompson, Liam (Scotty) Scott and his two children, how they found themselves stranded on a deserted island for a very long time and had to find a way to survive. Their struggles and triumphs put my heart through the wringer.
I loved the world building. I could imagine the island and everything that came at them as clearly as if I was watching a movie.
The character development and growth was amazing. Each of the characters had a lot of time for introspection, even Scotty’s 8YO daughter. I shared in their fear and hope, their laughs and efforts to survive, while Scotty and Frankie also figured out that their lifelong friendship was meant to be more.
Stranded AF is an emotional roller coaster that totally made me cry, laugh and smile, and gave me a book hangover for days. I am so thankful for being able to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!
Stranded AF is a standalone contemporary romance by Tammy Falkner. It is told from both POV with a HEA. Tropes: single parent | friends to lovers | forced proximity

“Even with a dislocated shoulder, a busted forehead, and a sunken plane, I’d never been so relieved in my life as I was at that moment. His kids had survived. The dogs had survived. We had survived a plane crash. We had survived a plummet into the ocean from thousands of feet in the air.”
“We were stranded as fuck. But I supposed it could have been worse. We could have been alone.”
- Who is the Hero? Liam Scott (aka Scotty), Age: 37, Occupation: Pilot
~ Ex military. Divorced. Two kids (boy 14, girl 8).
- Who is the Heroine? Frances “Frankie” Thompson, Age: 37, Occupation: trains animals and works with exotic animals and insects
Plot overview:
~ Liam and Frankie have been best friends since they were twelve and they’ve secretly been in love with each other for years - even though neither will admit it. They’ve gone their separate ways over the years, but they still try to stay in touch a couple times a year.
~ “I’d fallen in love with Frankie when I was twelve and a half, and I’d never really fallen out of it.”
With that close, life-long bond, Frankie knows Liam is the one person she can count on when she finds herself in a bit of a conundrum.
Unfortunately, the conundrum turns into a disaster and as they fight to stay alive they are forced to face the truth of what they really mean to each other.
~ “You weren’t alone in your feelings, Frankie. I wanted it to be you, too. Every single time, I wanted it to be you.”
~ “In case you weren’t aware, you’re my person, numbnuts.”
“You’re my person, too,” he said clearly. “You always have been.”
** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * It took me a moment to get the rhythm of the story. The press conference and then going back to what happened felt like a bit of a disconnect. But once I understood the pattern and how the story was being told, it didn’t seem so disruptive to me.
* * Scotty was amazing during the plane crash itself as he was calm and cool and I think that helped keep everybody else from panicking.
* * I liked that these were “normal” people. They had zero survival training and they had to figure out things as they went along. It made the characters much more relatable.
* * Not much drama among the characters, which was fine with me. Trying to live on a deserted island is drama enough.
* * the perseverance and positive attitude of the four characters was admirable. They learned how to pull together and overcome adversity and I loved their courage and strength.
* * the story wrapped up really quickly. I would have liked the ending to include more about the challenges they faced as they had to adapt again to “normal life”
* * there were moments where I was on the edge of my seat, but for the most part I thought this was a “telling” vs “feeling” type of story. I loved the characters and my heart experienced their joy and sadness. But I felt a bit like a spectator on the sidelines watching a show rather than feeling like I was experiencing everything with them.
* * I adored all the characters - even the dogs

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.
I dived into this book with no knowledge of what it was about, nor what the title was until I opened my ebook, and I knew I was going to love it because I have adored every book that Tammy Falkner has wrote. That's how much confidence I have in her storytelling, btw!
This book... it made me feel everything - every emotion! I was milliseconds away from balling my eyes out at the beginning, I laughed at inappropriate times, I swooned, I felt so much pride towards these characters. You name it? I felt it.
This book is a powerful book with a deep message - or at least I thought so. I stepped back and tried to picture myself in these 4 characters shoes, and I'm not going to lie, I don't know if I could have handled it. I'd like to think I could, but I honestly don't know, and won't know unless I'm put in that situation.
To be stranded on an island, with no food, no water, no way to communicate for help... to be responsible for 2 kids and dogs. That is so much pressure and, honestly, I would have had a panic attack. And instead, Scotty and Frankie kept their composite, REALLY well I might add, and found solutions. If I ever get stranded, I want them there with me!
Livvie and Tanner were fantastic. You take an electronic device from a kid nowadays and you may be risking a limb or two. Sure, they had their moments, they are kids, but they grew so much and were so mature for their age!
All 4 of these characters stole a piece of my heart, but I have to say, Frankie was it for me. The amount of love she had for animals, for her two pups, really connected with me and I have to love her for that, without a doubt.
I know that this book will stick with me for a long time, because it was such a loud message on what is important in the world. My crazy obsession for collecting books lately, while it makes me happy, is not as important as living life to the fullest. Experiencing new things, exploring mysteries. And being with the ones you love the most. And reading about these four and the crazy journey they were on, really puts that into perspective. So I am extremely glad I read this book and, as always, I'm already anticipating the next masterpiece from Falkner, where I will walk blindly into her novel because I know I will love it 100%!!
Definitely pick up this book when it gets released!

When asked to read this book I didn't hesitate at all. I love reading everything the author has written. I went in not knowing what this book was about. The author didn't disappoint, although it isn't anything like her other novels, this book is simply amazing. I didn't want to put it down, although work and kids made me. I laughed, I cried, I felt every range of emotion that she threw at me with this novel. I instantly wanted to read it again and to know what the character lives were like now. I can't wait to read whatever awaits me next from her. This book is a must read for everyone.

This book was almost impossible to put down, finished about 5am a couple days after it released. Scotty and Frankie’s story keeps you hooked right until the HEA. It alternates between present day (a press conference we later find out) and the time leading up to & when they were stranded. It’s heartwarming to see their relationship and the kids develop & grow as time goes by. Good balance of heat, suspense, and character development. Highly recommend!!

I was lucky enough to read an ARC. This book is so good. I mean, really good. I'd talk about it but I'm afraid of leaving a spoiler. Just buy it and read it. If you are already a fan of Tammy Falkner, you are going to love this new series.

A totally different kind of romantic adventure! It will make you feel all the feels and made me tear up more than once. The stakes could not get higher, but neither can the pay-off, if only these two can
1--survive, 2--tear past a wall of past habits and 3--give in to love!

An enjoyable read. However it didn't hold the magic of other books written by Tammy Falkner. The main character Scotty and Frankie I know they were old friends from childhood, but I didn't feel the passion. It just fell a little flat.
