Wow. I kind of love that this series is turning into being all about second chances. The Barclay sisters each have a lot of old baggage that needs to be unpacked. Perhaps none more so than Jessamyn. She and Ryder have a history; the kind that results in bad feelings and recriminations. Can these two find a way to peacefully coexist while Jessamyn’s back in Catamount to help settle her late grandmother’s estate? My heart hurt for everything Jess learns during this book, but it gave her such a huge opportunity for growth. I couldn’t help but feel for Ryder and the catch 22 he’s caught in, knowing something that could help her, but also knowing what it could cost him to reveal it. I enjoyed watching this pair as they fell back in love, learning about each other and themselves. Now, I’m desperate to find out about the third sister and the final outcome of the battle with their father.

Charming, enjoyable read.
This was a very charming book about the second chance romance between Jessamyn and Ryker. The author did a pretty good job with pulling you into the story. Jessamyn and Ryker were both likable and, more importantly, relatable.

I haven't read the first book in this series, but I enjoyed this enough that I'd go back and read it. A cute, second chance/childhood friends romance. And reconnecting with family, speaking your mind and sweet, sweet eco-cowboy love.

Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance

One Colorado Night continues the Return to Catamount series with one returning sister, lots of secrets, and a second chance to let love survive with the man she’s always loved, even when he hurt her so badly. Jess fell on her father’s side of the messy divorce and is somewhat estranged from her sisters. Coming back to her grandmother’s estate is bringing back so many memories, good and bad. Yet it’s also opening up questions that up to now have had no answers… and it’s time she was told the truth about so many secrets that surround her.

This story is one of those that I feel the need to be very careful in what I say. There are so many secrets and, frankly, I don’t know how people kept their mouths shut or the cover-ups straight. And that is all I’m going to be saying because those secrets are spoilers and you should discover what’s happening firsthand.

I can say that as prickly, rude, and full of attitude Jess is when we first encounter her, I like this girl a lot. She’s been put through the wringer by life, and the people she loves, and now she’s about to go through even more emotional situations before hard-won happiness can be hers. I adored Ryder. He’s been put in a distasteful position for years, holding onto a secret that needs to be told… but the telling is going to cause a lot of pain for the woman he still loves.

I loved watching this couple overcome the issues of their past, and even the ones that carried over into the present. Theirs was an emotional journey, steamy and sexy, of course, but hearts needed to be broken before they could heal. There are villains here, to me the vilest kind – people who are supposed to love and nurture not steal, scheme, and lie. I enjoyed watching the sisters come back together, deal with what’s gone before yet stand united in the now. Ryder and Jess are a lovely couple who deserves happiness, it’s a bumpy pothole-filled road to get there… but eventually their happy future, together, becomes a reality.

One Colorado Night is an enjoyable, solid romance full of emotions, secrets, sizzling chemistry, forgiveness, and family. If any of that makes you sit up and take notice then pick up this series, you’ll love it.

Joanne Rock has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Jessamyn and Ryker. Jessamyn and Ryker had been a couple until Ryker broke up with her for no reason. Now ten years later, she comes back to Catamouth to see her sisters and deal with her grandmother's property. Their father is contesting the will of his mother because he wants her property. Lark, Fleur, and Jessamyn are the ones who are to have the property. When Jessamyn lands, she goes to get the SUV she rented. She is told that the rental place has no more vehicles. Jessamyn is upset over this and said that she made a reservation the week before. Ryker comes up and was given his keys. Jessamyn gets upset and said that those keys should be hers. The clerk tells her that the keys are Ryker's keys to his personal vehicle. Ryker tells her that his cousin brought the truck to the airport the day before and left the keys with his niece. Ryker offers Jessamyn a ride to her grandmother's house. Jessamyn knows that she needs to stay away from Ryker since he hurt her the last time they were together and she is not going to let him do it again. Jessamyn and her sisters are fighting their father over their grandmother's property. Jessamyn and Ryker talk on the way to her grandmother's and she tells him what is going on. Ryker knows something about her father but he is not sure about telling her what it is. They start spending time together and end up sleeping together one night. One morning she starts getting sick and she is worried about being pregnant. A few days later, she goes a couple of towns over and gets a pregnancy test and takes it. It comes back positive. Ryker knows something is wrong since Jessamyn has not been talking to him for the last few days. Ryker goes and asked her to go for a ride with him. He takes her to a place that he likes to go just to think. Ryker sets up things and they start talking. He asked her what was wrong and she knows she has to tell him about the baby. Things don't go well when she tells him. Jessamyn is upset with the way their talk went. When she tells her sister Fleur what happened and then goes to her room. Ryker tries to call her but she doesn't answer any of his calls.
Will Jessamya, Lark, and Fleur win over their father?
Can Jessamya and Ryker work things out between them?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

The second book in this series with Jessamyn keeping her promise to her sister, Fleur in returning to Catamount, Colorado where the three sisters try reconnecting. First off she was met at the airport with some unexpected events of an ex-boyfriend she had not seen in a decade, then they did not have a car to fill her rental agreement, and finally she had to catch a ride back to the ranch with her ex-boyfriend, Ryder Wakefield. To this day, she measured every man against Ryder, and he only let her go, because he knew she was due for bigger and better things than Catamount. The sisters were gathering in Catamount as they had inherited their grandmother's ranch, but Jessamyn had brought news that their father was contesting the will. When their parents divorced two of sisters sided with the mother, and Jessamyn sided with her father, but she was starting to see the father the others always talked about. Shortly, after arriving Ryder had to see Jessamyn again, because he had some information that could help the sisters with their case, but he needed to be absolutely sure they needed it before giving it to them do to patient confidentiality. He and Jessamyn started spending more time together with a chemistry that would not be denied. Over this time period Jessamyn also learned more than she ever wanted to know of what her father was truly like. Fortunately, little of this information came from Ryder, but other sources including her father himself. When he reveals he wants the entire ranch not just a quarter. A wonderful love story between Ryder and Jessamyn as they navigate the rocky road to happiness. One you do not want to miss.

This is the 2nd book in the “Return To Catamount Series”. After the messy divorce of her parents real estate guru Jessamyn sided with her dad and the two have been living in NY. Jessamyn not only left her siblings behind but she also left her first love rancher Ryder. 10 years have passed, now Jessamyn is now back in Catamount Colorado after the death of her grandmother to collect her inheritance that she shares with her siblings. The chemistry that Ryder and Jessamyn once shared is still hot and sizzling. Jessamyn’s father has been thrown into the mix he wants the property that his mother left to his girls. Ryder and Jessamyn give in to their feelings and Jessamyn gets pregnant and Ryder has no intentions of letting Jessamyn get away again. Ryder has a secret that he has been keeping. Oh things are really getting good in this 2nd book.

With the Barclay siblings dad thrown into the mix wanting his mother’s property will it continue to separate him from his girls, or will the girls be willing to share the property with their dad, now that Jessamyn is pregnant with Ryder’s child what will the two do, will Ryder come clean and reveal his secret to Jessaymn? I know you want answers, you will have to pick up your copy for answers.

Sensuous, intense and emotional, One Colorado Night is another winner by Joanne Rock.

Jessamyn Barclay never imagined that she would find herself back in Catamount, Colorado. After her parents' messy divorce and her even messier breakup with rancher Ryder Wakefield, Jess had fled to New York and cut all ties with her hometown. However, when circumstances leave her with no other choice but to return back home to claim her inheritance, Jess finds herself running into the one man she has never quite managed to forget: Ryder Wakefield.

Long-buried feelings and never forgotten desires quickly come rushing to the surface and giving into temptation soon proves inevitable, yet neither one of them imagined that their one night of passion would have unforeseen circumstances. Pregnant with her ex's child and still head over heels in love with him, is Jess ready to give Ryder another try? Or will past secrets end up ruining any hope they might have of a future together?

Joanne Rock's One Colorado Night hits all the right spots. A sizzling Western romance packed with drama, heat and intrigue, this captivating tale of second chances, irresistible passions and everlasting love is another Joanne Rock novel for Harlequin Desire readers will thoroughly enjoy.

Jessamyn (Jess) and Ryder’s story is an engaging second chance at love romance. It also includes a long awaited reunion between sisters who were divided by the divorce of their parents. Jess and Ryder broke up years ago, but when she returns to Catamount, and the ranch her grandmother left to her and her sisters, the attraction between them flares quickly back to life. Neither has been able to forget the other in past decade, though Jess is contemplating marrying the man her father has chosen as his successor. After a tense shared ride from the airport, Jess is doing her best to avoid Ryder, but he is determined to tell her a long held secret that could help her with the ownership of her grandmother’s will. They discover that their desire for each other won’t be denied, though Jess claims it will be for one time only. The story continues with a few complications and that secret between them. Could a happily ever after still be possible for Jess and Ryder?.

One Colorado Night by Joanne Rock is the second on the Return to Catamount Series and comes in STRONG. Jessamyn Barclay doesn’t want to return to Catamount. She doesn’t have too many good memories there – parents fighting and divorce, a boyfriend who sent her away, family tensions – but she promised her little sister she’d come home to help fight for their grandmother’s farm, AGAINST their dad. And from her landing at the airport and running into the “one that sent her away”, she’s hesitant. Avoiding Ryder Wakefield isn’t an issue when there’s a snafu at the rental car counter plus they’re both in the same small town, but she tried. Ryder isn’t going to give in to her avoidance. He never stopped loving her, but she doesn’t know that. I loved the way the characters develop and how they keep trying to fight against their attraction. The way Joanne ties the past to the present and helps Jess overcome her family drama by having Ryder bring some history to the present, makes you want to root for the home team – Ryder. I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

This is book two in The Return To Catamount series and it is Jess and Ryder's story and it is definitely a must read. Jess and Ryder have history between them but everything fell apart when her parents for divorced and Jess went to live with her father in New York. When Jess and her sister's inherited there grandmother's ranch Jess returns and sees Ryder for the first time in ten years and there chemistry is still as strong today as it used to be but when they give in to it and Jess finds out that she is pregnant with Ryder's baby he is determined to get her back and not miss out on a second chance and a happy ending with Jess but will it work out as Ryder has been keeping secret's and if they are revealed it could break them apart get again. I absolutely loved this book and it had great characters and a storyline that pulled you in and kept your attention and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This is the second story in the saga of a set of sisters who inherit their grandmother's estate when she passes and they return home to be with one another and deal with their business. Jessamyn has been living in New York City. She did leave with a broken heart when Ryder broke up with her when she decided to move with her father. He did not tell her why. So on her way to be with her sisters she encounters Ryder as the airport and their reunion begins. There is still chemistry between them and they give in and create more than either expected. This time he wants to fight for her and the family they can have together. But can they make it this time when there are still secrets that need to be revealed that might tear them apart? A solid 4.5 stars.

4 1/2 STARS!

An emotional journey of healing has her reuniting with her first love ... and falling for him all over again! The second book in the Return to Catamount series has Jessamyn returning home to reconnect with her sister and work on settling their grandmother's estate. The characters are intriguing, the drama is spot on and the surprise baby that comes from their reunion is my favorite kind of trope!

Jess is more down to earth than I originally thought from the first book in the series and maybe part of that is the fact that she's away from work and out from under her father's thumb for awhile. I enjoyed seeing her enjoy the life around her again.

Ryder is kindhearted and really easy to like.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series if you enjoy a bit of good old fashioned family angst as an underlier to your romance.

This is the second book in the Return to Catamount series. You can read this as a standalone but I think it would be better if you read the series in order since there is an ongoing plot that starts in book one. This is Jessamyn and Ryder's second chance romance. It's steamy and well written. Jess is in Catamount to help her younger sister search for proof that her grandmother disinherited their father. He's contesting the will. The longer Jess is in Catamount the more she learns her father isn't the man she thought he was. She also finds herself drawn back to Ryder. They were in love as teenagers but Ryder broke up with Jess so she could follow her dreams. Has that love survived through all the years apart? I can't wait to read Lily's story next.

In the second book in the Return to Catamount series, we get Jessamyn and Ryder’s story. He broke her heart ten years ago and she can’t believe how unlucky she is to see him at the airport. Luckily he was there though because they’ve run out of rentals. Ryder offers her a ride to her deceased grandmother’s ranch and she begrudgingly accepts. One thing they can’t deny is the chemistry between each other. Will Jessamyn be able to ignore Ryder while she’s in town? Well, of course not. Unknown to her, he has information that can help them in the court case where their father is contesting Grandma Antonia’s will. Grab you copy and see what happens. I can’t wait to read Lark’s story next.

I was totally enthralled and captivated when I read it. I loved this! I loved the struggle of Jessamyn to see through the lies of her father. And accustomed as she is with his lies, can she trust Ryder? This book is wonderfully written and I’m looking forward to reading the third and last book of this series.
After her parents’ messy divorce—and her own bad breakup with rancher Ryder Wakefield—Jessamyn Barclay cut all ties to Catamount, Colorado. But the New York real estate guru is back, reuniting with her estranged siblings to claim their inheritance—and reuniting with Ryder to rekindle their undeniable fire. Now Jess is expecting his child. Will she give their relationship a real second chance, especially once she learns the secret he’s been keeping about her father?

When Jessamyn’s parents divorced it tore apart their family as well as she chose her father and her sisters chose their mother. The death of her grandmother brings her back to Catamount where she will have to face her ex-boyfriend and the past.

Ryder had his reasons for ending his relationship with Jessamyn and although it has been a decade the feelings and chemistry between them is stronger than ever. When her grandmother’s wish that she and her sisters inherit the ranch is in jeopardy Ryder must chose between his obligations and love.

This is heartwarming story about love, family, healing from the past and realizing what and who will truly make you happy.

What an exceptional read. The storyline has so many emotions init that leaves you feeling heartbroken and hopeful at the same time. Ryder and Jessamyn fell in love when she was 18 and he was 19. She had hopes and dreams of a successful business and he wouldn’t stand in her way. Now 10 yrs later she is back in Catemount to fight for her inheritance that he father is trying to take from her and her sisters. Ryder has the secret that would help defeat him but he is ethically bound not to repeat what he knows. Awesome storyline and wonderful characters.

A rancher for the 21st century.
What is a lady suppose to do when fate comes knocking throws a monkey wrench into your life smile and tell you have fun. Oh that monkey wrench has a name and it is Ryder. These two go back and forth all the time trying not to feel the attraction they have for each other. Now you are in for some interesting surprises and challenges for our hero and heroine. Super good writing, great plot, and a very entertaining book to read I could not put it down. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

Jessamyn was the sister who sided with her unscrupulous father, so I wasn’t sure what to make of her especially since she has some of her father’s entitlement attitude. But she reveals in the book how she felt unwanted by her mother and wants to bridge the gap with her sisters. Ryder is her long lost love and I laughed about the first interaction again at the airport fighting over his car. I enjoyed reading how Ryder made his ranch more ecofriendly. Her father shows even more of his true self centered colors in this book and I’m curious to see how everything is resolved in Lark’s story.

One Colorado Night: A Western marriage of convenience by Joanne Rock. One night in Colorado leads to so much more for both Jess and Ryder. Old feelings emerge and secrets come out. Jess and Ryder haven't seen each other in 10 years, but those feelings from summers as teens are still there. With her family drama coming to a head and an unexpected revelation, will these two get the second chance they deserve?

Joanne Rock does what she does best in the latest installment of Return to Catamount and gives us an intriguing story, a good amount of steam, and a HFN to carry us into the next book.
