A young Fae would be cursed by the moon, receiving the darkest marking of all—the Void Signature—and leading an army of supernaturals to destroy the world. In order to avoid this, the Angels descended upon the United States. They separated the supernaturals, creating magical borders within the country, upheld by the power the leaders of each mystical race wielded.
Zai Tyren lives in the hidden Fae city of Crestfell, just outside of Orlando, Florida. He is a young senior doing what any other teenager is doing—looking forward to prom, graduation, and most notably, his eighteenth birthday. The day he’ll finally get his Fae signature, a small pictograph provided to all Fae to let them know which element they are most in tune with.
What he certainly doesn’t expect, is to receive the mark of the Void Fae. The one no one wants. A demonic signature that will bring about the end of all supernaturals.
Suddenly, Zai’s life is turned upside down, and the beings he once considered friends and family turn on him, demanding his death for the greater good of the supernaturals. Except, there is no kinder soul than his; he would never do what the Void Fae is prophesied to do.
Hunted by the High Fae, the Platinum Dragons who govern all mystical races, and the Angels who swore to protect all magical borders, Zai will have no choice but to escape, unravel the prophecy, and figure out how to save the world from himself… or save himself from the world.
Wow! This is a fantastic world full of magical fae, dragons, vampires, witches and other supernatural beings. The world building is fantastic and the exciting and enchanting storyline pulls you in and does not let go. The characters are intriguing and very entertaining as we journey to find out about the prophecy/curse d what will happen when Zak turns 18! Will the world end? I can’t wait to read the next book to find out!!
Usually the story goes that on your special day, the unthinkable will happen and you'll go from ordinary Joe to the Chosen One who's destined to save the world. Most stories have a prophecy about a hero. So it must kinda such big time for a prophecy to exist about an unfortunate sod who is destined to destroy not only his own world, but all the supernatural worlds. Could you imagine being that guy? Maybe being average Joe isn't the worst thing in the world. But I guess the thing about prophecies is that well...they were foretold hundreds, sometimes thousands of years before. Who's to say something didn't get messed up in translation along the way? Or was it on purpose? Only one way to find out.
I received a free advanced release of the trilogy in exchange for an honest review.
I picked this up and read through it in a day. This is a fun fantasy with interesting characters. I definitely am looking forward to continuing the series.
The mix of supernatural characters and a crazy prediction isn't new, but this twist has been enjoyable. I'll be jumping into the next book shortly.
I read this in a set of books 1-3 and was glad I did so I didnt have to stop and wait for a new release. The characters are interesting and I like the world the author has created for the series. The story had good pacing and kept my interest through out. I look forward to more by this author
