TILLY No one ever told me the bugpocalypse would be so lonely.
I was ready when the man-eating space bugs descended from the skies. I have everything I need in my fortress: food, water, and my dog, Waffles, but I'm bored out of my gourd and lonely AF. So when a Xarc’n warrior breaks into my home, I decide to “detain” my purple intruder.
Note to self: tranquilizer darts and zip ties do not hold big, burly hunters. At all. Now I have more muscley warrior than I know what to do with pressing me up against the counter and claiming I’m his.
RAYK’N Captured by a little hunter.
Checking up on a kid and his dog is not my idea of fun; I’d rather be out shooting down flyers or hunting for my mate. But Tilly is not a male or a child. Her enticing scent calls to me, and I follow it to her home.
When I approach, she shoots me with a tranquilizer. Imagine my surprise when I wake with my wrists tied and her straddling my body. If my mate wants to play, all she has to do is ask.
This story can be read as a stand-alone or as a part of a series. HEA guaranteed!
Lynnea Lee is a recovered serial monogamist who now lives in her forever home with the man of her dreams. Still hopelessly addicted to the feeling of falling in love she now feeds her habit with a routine prescription of romance novels and rampant imagination. When she is not dreaming up fantastical stories of love, lust and romance, her hobbies includes talking to her plants, putting on a full face of makeup to stay home on Saturday nights and hugging her dog longer than is appreciated.

The Hero:Tillie - she considered herself a baby prepper before the alien insects arrived on Earth. She had a fortress along with a ton of food and supplies and was prepared for the apocalypse when it came. Though she never expected it to be so lonely. Though at least she had her trusty dog, Waffles. Waffles was one of the only dogs left in the area due to the fact that dogs were large and the bugs usually got them.
The heroine:Rayk’n - He had come to Earth after hearing that human females turned on their mating instinct and were compatible with the Xarc’n hunters. He wanted nothing more than to find his mate, so was not happy when the other hunters at the compound nominated him to go after the boy and dog they had seen and thought might be trying to go it alone. They figured the boy would need help, though they didn’t know at the time the boy wasn’t a boy at all but a grown human female.
The Story: While Tillie and Waffles were out scavenging for some books, she heard a buzzing sound which drew the bugs toward where they were foraging. So they hunkered down and sprayed the door to mask their scent. When she cracked the door to check outside, she saw the huge Xarc’n hunter who had been stalking her.
Like the rest of the series, this book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. Troy Duran and Keira Stevens do the narration and along with the good storylines, and world building have made this entire series worth reading. I love Troy’s super deep voice and Keira is perfect for this series as well.
I love the fact that Tillie was a strong female character who was thriving in this dystopian world without any help from anyone else. She not only loves her dog, but romance novels as well. What more could you ask for in a heroine?
Rayk’n was one of the Xarc’n warriors that had a mission on another planet but decided to go to Earth instead and join the fight there in hopes of finding a mate while on Earth. However there were a few on his ship that were bread for their strict nature and wanted to follow their directive. These hunters saw the others as defective and began hunting them down, one of these is after Rayk’n and finds him with Tillie. I liked this storyline which was suspenseful and interesting.
Lynnea Lee has released the next book in her series of Bugs, sexy Xarc'n warriors and the human females who steal their hearts. Tilly is a diminutive young woman whose companion is a small dog named Waffles. Tilly is a very self-sufficient young woman who has set her home up in a remarkable way to protect her and Waffles from the bugs that have invaded Earth. She forages when necessary and on one such outing she catches the eye of Rayk'n, tall, purple and calendar sexy. But she's independent and nobody is going to intrude on the life she has created for herself. Rayk'n finds out the hard way she's not to be messed with. She lasers him, she tranquilizes him and ties him up. But he's not going to give up easily and as the story progresses we see a battle of will between these two very different people. But - who will come out on top. Can be read as a stand alone. Highly recommended read.
ooh this was different and entertaining. so basic plot is the world has bugapocalypse(?) meaning there's big mosquitos killing people from space etc. and some aliens helping people. these aliens don't have woman and they have matebond, i guess previous 6 books explained things better because when she asked him something about him it was like this "so he told her bla bla bla" they didn't explained us but i guess it's okay since SNE knows? 🤔😂
anyways this was enjoyable with a strong female lead and adorable fighter male lead plus a dog. i liked side characters maybe i'll read previous books one day
Very funny and hot! Who knew a human females could capture a Hunter? Not that he is not into it, he actually didn't mind st all. I had so much fun reading Tilli and Rayk'ns book. I loved Waffles so cute! As we can see, females can also take care of themselfs. Great addittion!
Once again, the author has penned a totally engaging read for me :) This really was an entertaining story, with a unique plot, and interesting characters. They were perfect for each other but they went on quite the journey to get onto the same page - Tilly was not a damsel in distress and Rayk'n had to learn that the hard way. Too funny! However, there's no getting away from a determined Xarc'n warrior who does respect his clever mate and a lonely gal with the hots for said warrior ;D While this all seems to be a sweet and steamy romance, expect danger, humour, action and suspense to balance out that almost insta love. Good fun!
That an alien invasion story had a expert female prepper that did not need the others, but wanted company. Human for the most part need the socialization of others. Only part I dislike about this book was the whole “original Hunter” storyline. On multiple layers it did not gel. From totally against other books stories. The clones mission was the destruction of the bugs. As long as they were killing, or helping in effort they would not have beef. Wish they spent more time on her integration with group, and her teaching prep classes via radio, Internet. As well other teaching other cities what they learned. And what happened to the shmucks , anti hunter humans. I like they are moving the location, but believe some warrior, human pairs should move as strategic help as well. Three years later, the Internet, solar, power, etc should be improved with the tech hunter teams. Not to mention the cleared cities can now produce crops, raise animals, and build renewable power stations. And hunters can build hybrid transports for humans to move around, fight.
I love this series! I also love how the author release 4 to 5 books at a time on audible so there’s no wait! I wish a lot more authors did this. I know they can’t with new books but their back log. This book is just as good as all the rest in the series. Get this series!!
Clearly I started this series in the middle, but what a fantastic start it was! I surely hope the apocalypse doesn’t actually result from a hoard of voracious insects, but I might be able to get on board if survival comes at the hands of this hunky, alpha alien. He is sweet in the way he changed his approach once he discovered what his lady love had survived. I love the action and excitement of the story, and of course, the romance is out of this world. I especially enjoyed the fact that the dog has made it so long, and it certainly gives me hope if the bugs ever invade earth. This was a fantastic read and I can’t wait to go back and start from the beginning of the series.
Tilly has been fending for herself and her dog Waffles for some time now but with her being so successful at it means she is alone. She has her stash of food, her solar oven and other equipment but she is desperately lonely. She also cannot trust anyone out there given that the last person she ran into tried to ear her dog! No she is much better off alive but alone. Still she does need something else to fill her days such as reading so she makes a break to go get some more books. There she is trapped by the scourge but a great purple protector appears and rescues her. She sneaks away but the next thing she finds is said purple protector right in the middle of her home! Rayk'n has been sent to look for the child with the dog (whatever a one of those is) but when he gets there he find it is not a child but a very small female with short hair and by the scent of her, she is his. He can see how well prepared she is but despite all that he is determined to take her to the compound where she will be safe. She has put herself in a great position in her fortress but he is ready to storm the tower. Rapunzel eat your heart out. I have to say that this is one of the sweetest I have read in this series. Don't get me wrong there is lots of action, steam and the such like but Rayk'n just seems so sweet. Hate bugs but I love these books!
I love this series! The characters are awesome and so is the world building and it’s the same for this book. We see one of the newer warriors find his mate, well he finds her but technically she’s the one that catches him. Their love is beyond sweet and they are adorable together. There’s lots of action, some danger, lots of steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending.
Tilly has been on her own since the bugpocolypse started. People used to make fun of her for preparing for the worst but it ended up saving her life. Now she’s been found by a Xarc’n warrior and man is he hot. When he gets into her apartment, after finding all the traps she set, she ends up taking him down and tying him up. When things get steamy she has no regrets, until he wants her to return to the compound with him. She refuses as she doesn’t trust them to not steal her stash off food ect. When another warrior turns up and threatens her, Rayk’n goes to rescue her. The other warrior is hunting those warriors who came to earth instead of going on their mission. He ends up shooting Rayk’n’s shuttle down and him and Tilly end up running for their lives. The other warrior isn’t interested in taking him to his assigned mission, no he wants to kill him and Tilly.

I love this series. There is just something behind each of these stories that really resonate with me. This newest edition is no exception. Rayk'n is a Xarc'n warrior who is sent out on a mission to find a human child and his dog who had been spotted wandering around. To his surprise it wasn't a male child but a small woman and her dog surviving the apocalypse of alien bugs that had overrun Earth. Her scent called to him, and he observed her movements, determined to bring her back safely to the hunters' compound. Tilly was a prepper before the bugs came to Earth- having a supply cache of food, a system to collect and filter water, and generate electricity in case of an apocalyptic event. She was well prepared, but lonely with only her dog Waffles for company. She was aware she was being watched by a Xarc'n hunter, and while admired him from afar, avoided any contact with him. I really liked Tilly. She was a refreshing new character in this series- smart and prepared. I loved her relationship with Rayk'n. There was chemistry, teasing, and humor. They were a great fit for each other. This book has adventure, danger, and romance. I loved every page! 5 stars.
Tilly is a survivor who has made it by herself with her trusty sidekick since the bugpocalypse first began. Rayk’n came to Earth when he heard there were compatible females hoping to find his mate. When others in the camp had talked about seeing a kid and a dog he went out to check up on them to make sure all was well, not expecting Tilly’s scent to lure him in. I love their chemistry and how Tilly can stand up and take care of herself and her future mate!!! I’m excited to read the next story!!!

Xarc’n Warriors is an 8-book post apocalypse series written by Lynnea Lee. The books are set on Earth, after an alien invasion from space bugs, where the few human survivors are still fighting for survival daily. The invasive species, controlled by a “queen,” have built hives inside major cities, and killed (and ate) most humans. The space bugs (aka scourge) carry an infectious and deadly bacteria. Any human that became desperate enough (from starvation) to capture and eat a scourge, turned into a heavily contagious zombie that must be avoided at all cost. The scourge will stop at nothing to return the bacteria to its hive. The remaining humans have taken refuge outside the major cities. Some forming survivalist groups and cults that stand against the Xarc’n Warriors. The Xarc’n Warriors are aliens that have come to help Earth by ridding it of their scourge infestation. The Xarc’ns, being perfect clones specifically designed to fight the bugs, reside in territories around the world. This series follows the Xarc’n Warrior group that created a safe compound inside Franklin. Xarc’n Hunter’s are over 7 feet tall, purple skin, ram-like horns sprouting from their temples, sharp teeth with fangs, and retractable claws. They all seem to have muscles on top of their muscles; no dad bods here. Their females are extinct, which is why they’ve been intrigued to match and mate with women of Earth (they are compatible and can have offspring together). But they have to travel to the mothership in order to activate their dormant mating capabilities, so no accidental pregnancies can be had.
Written in 1st person, Captured by the Hunter is book 7 in the series and follows the Xarc’n Warrior Rayk’n and his human mate Tilly. We first met Tilly in book 6 when a pair of foragers stumbled across a boy and his dog. As the only unmated Xarc’n left, Rayk’n was tasked with hunting down this lead and making sure they were okay. Turns out, it wasn’t a boy at all. It was Tilly, who was a doomsday survivalist that had been living by herself the entire time, with her dog Waffles. Tilly was a little too eager to welcome Rayk’n with open arms and into her bed. But she wasn’t quick to leave her home and meet more people, having serious trust issues. Like Koriv’n from book 5, Rayk’n was one of the warriors that refused orders to fight the scourge on a hopeless planet and chose to come to Earth instead. Which also meant that he had his fertility turned on. Unfortunately, there is a special Xarc’n clone breed hell bent on hunting down Xarc’n traitors at all costs and bringing them to justice. Rayk’n is stuck defending both himself and his mate from this psychopathic variant of Xarc’n Warriors. He succeeds, Tilly decides to move from her home and into the settlement with Rayk’n, and they live happily ever after starting a family. 🫶🏻
Admittedly, I am 100% on board with the Xarc’n species. Their protective, aggressive, possessive, dominant, controlling need of need of their mate is my kind of flavor. The way they unintentionally purr, growl and roar is kinda cute too. When a mating band takes place, neither party can physically stop touching each other for a certain period of time. Which is different and quite endearing. Each section of a Xarc’n cock is shaped like a sex toy; a head with a thick ridge around the widest part and it dipped in before the next part started. Picture a butt-plug with 3 round balls, each one bigger than the last.
The book doesn’t suck; it’s filled with adventure and a little romance. I just prefer found myself a little bored with the redundant story. I recommend reading, at least once. Onto the next book in the series…
This more of a 1.5 but I'm not rounding it up to 2 because I really did not like this installment.
One thing I hate in a lot of romances is the instant sex, I do not like when characters just met and they instantly have sex, I get its like that for some people in real life but its not for me so I don't like reading it. This installment has the most sex in it and it just became such an annoyance for me. I skipped like 2 of the sex scenes because one was just placed in the worst time possible (why would you want your couple to have sex in an animals burrow with its feces near them????) the other I was just annoyed that another sex scene was happening. Surprise surprise I don't read romances for the sex, I actually really like the journey and the characters falling for each other, I don't need their intimate lives, so one or two scenes is plenty for me (I know I'm like the outlier here lol) I didn't really feel like there was any effort put into their emotional connection, just their physical and so this to me is a couple that would not last outside of having a forced bond.
Tilly was a prepper and that was kind of cool, but once she met Rayk'n it was like all she cared about was jumping into bed with him again. Rayk'n just kind of felt....there.. I don't hate him but also he didn't stand out like the other guys did, neither of them did honestly they are a forgettable couple in my opinion.
Tilly was also so wishy washy, she had no issue jumping into bed with an alien she just met but was like "omg I can't trust people they might be bad" like make up your mind. And then when she spent like a few hours away from everyone after she met them and was all of sudden like "omg something is missing from my life and its community" like girl you are annoying. I would have preferred if the story really played into her aversion for wanting to be part of the community and Rayk'n helping her over come that fear instead of whatever this was.
I also didn't like her dog.
The only part that I did enjoy was when 00592 came and there was lots of action. I will give Tilly credit she was a scraper and was willing to try and fight when she knew she didn't have a chance but she did consistently try to fight when she wanted too. Unfortunately she wrapped up this story line really quickly so that was a bummer as it was the most interesting part of the story.
The only other huge complaint I have is WHY DID WE NAME TWO BABIES KYLE!!!! And the fact that one of them is named after his mother who abandoned him, that's messed up. But seriously KYLE twice!!!!! There are a million names out there and Lee choose the same one TWICE!!!!
Tilly was a prepper before the bug apocalypse happened so she was ready. She's smart, brave, self-sufficient, and feisty, but she's also lonely, even with her cute little dog, Waffles.
Ravyk'n is a Hunter designed to fight the scourge aka bugs, and a talented pilot. He left his mission to fight on a dying planet to join the fighters on Earth and to find a mate. In order to not be sent back he's had to live off grid. He recently joined the hunters in Franklin to help them fight the scourge.
Ravyk'n thought he was going to check on a boy and his dog and instead found his mate. He planned to save her and found she didn't need saving, in fact she shot him with a tranquilizer dart. Tilly doesn't want a mate but she wouldn't mind playing with this tempting alien, that looks like a 'purple Fabio.' She'll share a bed with him but doesn't want any more than that.
While these two are getting closer and closer, another Hunter is hunting Rayk'n, believing he is defective. A new twist in this series as the 00592 hunter stops hunting bugs to hunt other hunters.
I really enjoyed the give and take between Rayk'n and Tilly. Tilly is a wonderfully strong character and is a perfect match for Rayk'n. These two made a great couple and I was so glad for the epilogue because I wasn't ready to stop reading about them.
It's Rayk'n and Tilly's turn to find their happy place and I AM HERE FOR IT! I mean, given this post-apocalyptic buggy nightmare they're living in, who wouldn't be?
So. Rayk'n is one from the hunter group who defied orders and came to Earth when they found out human women could trigger the mating bond. Working with the Franklin group, he's been biding his time hunting for his mate and killing lots of bugs in the meantime. Tilly is a human who's been on her own since the bugpocalypse hit. She's good at keeping herself and her dog (Waffles!) alive, but it's a pretty lonely existence. Then Rayk'n crashes into her life (not literally) and suddenly the two of them are making eyes at one another.
The issues? Tilly's been on her own for a while and she's wary of trusting other humans. She's survived because of her stockpiles and potentially losing everything if she ends up trusting the wrong people is something she's legitimately worried about. On Rayk'n's end, not everyone is thrilled that his group of warriors abandoned their original orders and came to Earth. So he has that to deal with.
Bugs, a sweet pup, more bugs, a hunter (not Rayk'n) on a mission, new friends, familiar faces, a warrior who find his special someone in an unexpected place, and a lady who does what she has to do to protect herself. Sure, the tranquilizer and zip ties don't work, but Tilly gives it her all.
I enjoyed reading this absolutely, fascinating alien Sci-fi romance and it is a great addition to the series. (Best of all it can be read as a standalone) The storyline is well-paced and the plot has good world building, descriptive scenes & some humorous moments. The characters are strong-willed individuals that challenged each other but ultimately they complemented each other extremely well. The secondary characters offer good support. It is about: a intelligent human female prepper (Tilly) with a loyal canine companion (Waffles) is confronted by an unwanted guest (an alien Xarc’n warrior, Rayk’n) naturally after some disagreements, she promptly tranquilizes him & uses zip ties to contain him but things don’t go exactly according to her plan when he breaks free & claims that she is his mate. There is: a suspicious Xarc’n hunter (Tarku’n) with devious intentions, an alien insect invasive scourge, alien Xarc’n warriors, friendship, loneliness, twists & turns, adventure, action, intrigue, drama, suspense, threats, confrontations, violence, conflict, protectiveness, a mating bond, comradery, steamy scenes & a delightfully sweet epilogue with a satisfying conclusion. If you like to read Sci-Fi alien romances with happy endings then this book (& the series) is for you.
I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable with some action and drama. The characters were interesting and likable. I had been hoping that Taruk’n would “wake up” and realize that what the other hunters were doing was more important than his desire to hunt them down but he was too far gone. Hopefully the other 00592’s will remember that they were designed to hunt the scourge. Waffles was a brave little dog. She cracked me up with her “I’m big and bad” attitude that she had sometimes. Waffles and Tooth were definitely an odd match. Rayk’n was a strong, powerful, and proud hunter (warrior). Tilly was a smart, resilient, and confident human prepper. Rayk’n was sent to the area to look for a child and a dog only to discover Tilly and Waffles. He wanted to protect her and she wanted to avoid him. Tilly impressed me a lot with how competent and prepared she was. She was a bada$$ that was willing to fight for herself and Waffles. Later she was also willing to protect and fight for Rayk’n. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

This book was amazing! Lee’s new batch of characters, Tilly and Rayk’n, was added to my list of absolute favorites in this series.
Tilly, and her adorable dog Waffles, proved to be incredibly independent, witty, and funny. Before the alien bugs crash-landed on Earth, Tilly was a prepper. It was a truly wonderful gift of foresight since she managed to live quite comfortably in the midst of such destruction for a few years. Her relatability shone through when she went on a foraging mission for books because she was bored. This was someone to whom every bookworm could relate, and I loved it! When Rayk’n ‘broke in’, she managed to tranquilize him and tie him up, which was something both the characters and I enjoyed immensely.
Their relationship dynamic was playful and spicy but also sweet and serious. They respected and supported each other, which was a great foundation for their relationship as the book progressed.
I always love a fierce and independent heroine, but it’s even better when she has a soft spot. This was Tilly in spades. I can’t wait to read the last book in the series and eventually the series as a whole again in the future.
"We might have been developed solely as weapons, but we’d proven to be more."
Tilly hadn't been a full ton doomsday prepper, but she'd been prepped enough, certainly better prepped than most, for the bugpocolypse. Her home had almost everything a gal could need... if she and her dog didn't mind being a tad lonely.
Rayk'n was hoping to find a mate, but when the humans he was working with asked him to check up on a boy and his dog he agreed, little did he imagine that mission would lead to his future.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read deals with trust issues, how different people deal with a major crisis, and what lines some cross that others simply won't. Rayk'n and his fellow hunters were designed to follow orders, and save worlds from these invading bugs, but Rayk'n is from the first ship to ever defy orders and go to a different planet than the one they were assigned... A planet that still had hope of being saved, with intelligent life, that in turn offered hope for a different, brighter future to the hunters themselves.
H: RAYK’N (male Xarc'n alien) h: TILLY (Human female) RAYK’N is one of the hunters that were not supposed to be on earth but after hearing about female mates he decided to change courses/routes. Causing him to fail his mission and having another hunter after him to capture him and take him to the proper planet. The only thing is that this hunter doesn't want to capture him but he wants to end him instead. I really like this story, it is really different. Tilly is not some helpless woman seeking for someone to save her, no she got everything all set. She was fully prepared for this bug apocalypse thing. She had frozen meals, she still resides in her home, condo in a secure building. She made the building extra secure by making booby traps throughout her building. She had her dog Waffles (which I love) but she was also lonely. I really really like this story!!
I'm so glad I decided to give this series a chance.. Every book keeps getting better and better..and I can't help falling for these alien hunters and their mates! I like how each story still gives you glimpses of characters from the previous books so you don't feel like you lost them and I like how it introduces characters yet to come.. I liked this story about Tilly and her hunter alien Rayk'n.. Tilly is definitely my kind of girl with her books lol when COVID first hit the FIRST thing I did was go to the library and check out as much books as I could which was about 30 not including my books I already own and the books on my Kindle and of course stock up on food so I felt like I could relate to her story in some way..so far so good I can't wait to read more!
I grabbed a coffee, made myself comfortable and did not put the Captured by the Hunter down until I had finished. I liked that the hunters continue to grow beyond what their creators thought they needed to be to fulfil their purpose and carve out their own future. There were two strong characters in Tilly and Rayk'n (Waffles antics made me smile) The apocalyptic disaster and how the humans and Xarc’n Hunters learn to co-exist and make a new future on Earth drew me in and maintained my interest to the end.
Reads like those 70’s creature feature movies meets modern living dead & post apocalyptic tv/movies & eight legged freaks BUT WITH BIG MUSCULAR HOT SMEXY ALIENS & smexy ROMANCE ! Giant monster galactic killer man eating bugs have taken over the planet everything has shut down it’s fight for your life ALL THE TIME until, hot smexy horned & horny alien hunters come to fight the bugs! And claim their human mates. Fun read. Whole series on book 6 now got some good survival skills methods inside too from those post apocalyptic survivalist
Tilly and Rayk’n this book was so cute! I loved the way we find out Tilly isn’t a little kid and that she’s a prepper and doesn’t need anyone to protect her. The audiobook of this puts so much more depth into the story and the emotions our couple are feeling! Tilly fights it at first but soon realizes how lonely she was living all by herself and that Rayk’n is what she was really missing. The glimpse into the future also puts such a nice cherry on top I love this series and can’t wait for the next book! Give it a listen those narrators are fire!
When Raykn Is asked to check on on a child and a dog he he dutifully agrees. But what he smells is his mate. Tilly is actually prepared for the apocalypse but what she is not prepared for is capturing a big purple alien that is all too happy to be there. She thinks hes after her supplies hes really after her heart. Throw in some horrid humans an adorable dog and a bunch of misunderstandings and this makes for one sexy wild ride.
Tilly and Waffles will win your heart right from the start, as will Rayk'n when he shows up. I loved the action in this story and how brave Tilly was especially. I was 100% being this couple working out right from their first meeting. I loved the way the action builds and that the conflict came from an unexpected source. It's a great addition to the series!
Lynnea Lee does it again with another great post-apocalyptic alien romance. Humans are just trying to survive in their new environment that is overrun by man eating space bugs and warrior aliens. Tilly thinks she has everything she needs to survive until an alien breaks into her home.

The seventh book in the Xarc’n Warriors series. Tilly and her dog Waffles and purple Xarc’n hunter Rayk'n's story of her capturing him in one of her traps. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains and romance. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
