Elizabeth Rockwell had everything she’d ever wanted: great job, doting boyfriend, a happy life. Always one to follow the rules and live life by the book, she never dreamed it would all come crashing down someday. So, she left her broken heart and shattered dreams back in Chicago and moved closer to her sister for a fresh start.
Alex Lexington worked his whole life to snag his dream job with the FBI, but it all came to a screeching halt when he took a career-ending bullet to the shoulder. To avoid being stuck at desk duty and salvage what little bit of fire for police work he had left inside of him, Alex packed his bags and headed to the small town of Glenview, Iowa.
Running away doesn’t always help you find what you’re looking for, but when Alex and Lizzie cross paths, a piece in each of them finally feels like they’ve found what they were missing all along.
Rachel Smith was born and raised in a small town in Iowa. After spending a few years in the ‘big city’ she now lives with her husband and two children in Clear Lake. Working part time from home, she spends the rest of her time exercising, reading, and taking care of her family.
Another well-written, small town romance from this author! It was so worth the wait!
Filled with humor and steam and characters who are easy to love, this was hard to put down. It was fun, it was sexy, and gave me everything I need in a romance to feel completely satisfied and happy.
Lizzie is quirky, a bit nerdy, and so ready to start over. Alex is a bossy, sexy AF, alpha cop who can’t get enough of Lizzie. They are so cute together!
And did I mention the suspense? Lots of it! Enough that kept me on my toes and anxious to keep turning the pages. Ms. Smith always makes me feel like I’m watching a movie play out in front of me and and keeps me entertained from beginning to end.
This book is the third in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone.
