I decided to read this after my first breakup. I was able to see the controversies but I believe Machiavelli provides very informative advice and answers in this book. Using examples from the past, notably Agathocles of Syracuse whose barbarity won himself power and but not any glory. Going full red wedding and murdering all those who challenged his power. It was necessary for the time, but in turn created more enemies and causes for his conspirators to reap him a similar fate. The book isnt just about these examples , but provides good advice onto win the hearts of the people and be a good leader. Providing that your people in similar circumstances that allowed for a Caesar to gain power. I think this book gets more hate than deserved, it gave me great advice following my breakup how the deception people will play on others to gain the desired goal. I was cheated on. It taught me not to fool around with whores and focus on my own battles. For women are more dangerous than men.
