Alaskan Werewolf #1

Animal Attraction

Rate this book
Frustrated when none of the real newspapers will hire her as a reporter, Eliza Bradley takes the only job she can get – at a paranormal magazine. Her first assignment takes her to Fairbanks, Alaska to investigate the possibility that a werewolf has killed two local hikers.
Eliza forgets about the story, however, when she meets Hunter McCall, a local college professor and an expert on wolves. The man is an absolute hunk, and she finds herself spending more time in his bed than worrying about werewolves. That is, until she finds out that Hunter isn’t just an animal in the sack, he’s an animal out of it, too - of the werewolf variety! Talk about a complicated relationship!
But Eliza can’t dwell on Hunter’s little shapeshifting issues. There’s another werewolf out there with a taste for human blood, and she and Hunter are the only ones who can stop him.

I couldn't put it down!

There was just something about this story that effortlessly pulled me right along. I think it may have been the underlying mystery that the characters were trying to solve, but whatever it was, it grabbed hold and didn't let go!

I liked Paige's unique spin on werewolves, and I loved the action and suspense woven in throughout the book.

The imagery was also very well done; I actually felt like I was standing outside, in the dark, in the freezing-cold Alaskan night looking at the broken down door of.... Or the fear that gripped Eliza as she was getting ready to... (No spoilers!!!)

And if you like steam, there's a-plenty to go around in these pages!

All in all, I really enjoyed this one and I'd absolutely read more books by Paige!

Animal Attraction by Paige Tyler is her first book in her Alaskan Werewolf series. In Animal Attraction, Eliza Bradley wants to be a journalist but instead has worked as a fact checker for the last four years. Since the current newspaper Eliza works for is unwilling to promote her, Eliza finds a job at a local paranormal magazine. Eliza doesn't believe in the paranormal but is willing to do whatever she can to become a journalist. Eliza's first assignment is follow-up on a werewolf sighting in Alaska. With her photographer Alex in tow, Eliza heads to Alaska.

In Alaska, Eliza is skeptical but keeps an open mind when interviewing Nate, the local who reported the werewolf sighting. Nate is a supporting character but he has a small side story going on which I really enjoyed. The main hero is Hunter McCall, local college professor and secret werewolf. Eliza and Hunter instantly click and I found both characters really interesting and enjoyable. They keep secrets from each other in the beginning but when the truth comes out neither get mad at each other, which I found a refreshing change cause frankly I get tired of stories where the characters spend half the story getting mad over secrets.

Overall the story had an interesting story line, great characters, and some very hot bedroom scenes. Oh and my personal favorite: a spanking scene. Since I am very fond of several of Paige's novellas that feature spanking I couldn't help but smile when I read that scene. Highly recommend this book!

Animal Attraction has been revamped and re-released and I found it to be a highly enjoyable tale! This one has everything I have came to expect from Paige's contemporary erotica tales, throw in paranormal creatures and a whole new mythology and it's definitely one to watch. The heat level was scorching and the characters where interesting, I would definitely read more set in the series!

I really liked this book and will be reading more by this author. To me it wasn't the typical shifter book with all the Pack politics and dynamics. I guess I shouldn't say a more believable story because come on werewolves aren't real, right? Anyway, it was a good read and set in Alaska and I so love stories set in Alaska.

I didn't realize I had this book in my stockpile of books till 2 days ago. Man oh man am I glad I decided to read it. It was originally released in 2008 (when in won an EPIC Award Finalist and was chosen as Bes Book of 2008 at Long and Short Reviews) and reworked in 2014. I don't know how the original read but the revised version is AMAZING. Once I started reading it around 10:30pm I just couldn't put it down till 5am when I finished it. We have a young reporter out to prove herself and in trying to assert herself gets fired. Without the experience she needs she is only able to get a job at a "paranormal" paper; which is tough as she doesn't believe in the sort of stuff, but a job is a job and she needs it. I don't do spoilers so it's going to be hard for me to get you excited about this book without giving up it's truly great story. She heads to Alaska to investigate a tip about "werewolf" involved killing. While there she sees and is instantly sensually aroused by a man sitting next to table during the first night. She meets the man who sent the paper the tip, saying he had evidence of the werewolf; a man she feels is one of those crazy "X-Files, Truth is Out There" people. This leads to meeting and talking with police and a local professor and expert on wolves, which turns out to be the gorgeous guy from the restaurant. Welllll, we have secrets, mysteries, horrendous murders, new friendships, and hot, erotic, explosive, they've never felt like this before sex. I have to tell you this story had me itching to get to the end to find out what the hell was going to happen next, and then when I got there, I said NOOOO don't end yet. Oh yes, I recommend this book to all lovers of paranormal erotic romance, packed with thrills and chills.

4.5 Surprised stars.

Not gonna lie, because of the cheesy cover and somewhat cringy title, I wasn’t expecting to like this one much, but I was pleasantly surprised.
It’s more romantic suspense with a dash of supernatural than a proper PNR, but I was pretty intrigued with the killer plot, and what little world building there was concerning the werewolves was well done.
All the characters (main and secondary) were pretty quirky and lovable, and I had no trouble slipping into the story. Eliza was smart and charismatic, and Hunter a solid beta. (Tortured alphaholes aren’t always necessary, am I right?).
As for the romance, it was basically drama-free, which I appreciated, as that allowed more time to focus on the investigation. Nothing too overly sweet or instalovey; plus, it was pretty scorching in the bedroom department.
If I had to complain about something, I would say there was a bit too much focus on the lust, and how attractive the main characters found each other, which got rather repetitive. Also, the amount of information Hunter was willing to divulge to both Eliza and the police was a bit baffling, considering it could mean exposing himself.
The writing itself was pretty good, but I did spot some grammatical errors and Tyler does have a tendency to repeat herself a bit too much.
Overall, I liked it and would recommend.

Hot with heart pounding excitement

This story is so fast, it almost feels like I couldn't keep up! Eliza ends up losing her reporter job at a traditional newspaper, to find she can only get one at a paranormal magazine! Soon she is sent to Alaska to investigate two murders apparently by a werewolf! Once in Alaska, she meets wolf expert Dr. Hunter McCall. They are immediately attracted to each other, and fall into bed pretty quickly. Even though Eliza doesn't really believe in werewolves, something strange is definitely going on, and Hunter seems to have some ideas about it. But as her research progresses farther, werewolves seem more and more likely... Now they just need to figure out what is happening before the creature takes them down for good!

The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some detailed steamy scenes. This story is hot! The characters are vibrant and engaging, even the secondary ones. This is a super exciting, drag you along by the seat of your pants story. The twists and turns were surprising and really kept me guessing until the end. I hope to see book 2 about Hunter's brother Luke sooner rather than later!

Eliza was working as a fact checker at a newspaper and quits when they would not give her a reporter spot, even with her degree. She ends up working for the Paranormal Today and her first assignment is to go to Fairbanks, Alaska to follow up on a tip sent in by a reader about werewolves killing people. She is given her own photographer, Alex to document any visual evidence. Coming from California in May, she is not ready to see snow on the ground and 30 degree weather. Their first day there they eat at the local diner and Eliza can't take her eyes off the guy sitting at the table behind them. She can't get used to it being the land of the midnight sun. it is late at night and she feels like it is early afternoon.
They meet with Nate, the man who wrote to the paper and he shows photographic evidence and a huge chunk of wolf fur from the scene of the first attack. With Nate's help they get an introduction to the police department, where Eliza tells them she is a reporter doing a story on how people react to losing neighbors to wild animal attacks, and mentions the wild animal attacks in California.
Hunter is the man who was at the table behind her and he can't get her out of his mind, he is daydreaming about her when she suddenly appears in his lecture hall at the university. He could smell her succulent scent before he even sees her. After the introductions, he tells her all about wolves and pack mentality. He is the one who identified the attacks as coming from one wolf, and invites Eliza to meet real wolves at the wildlife center.
Hunter becomes a big part of her investigation and all she can think about is having sex with him. She gets her wish and is having sex with him less than 48 hours after meeting him.
Hunter is a werewolf and they have great sexual stamina and he has been so turned on by her since he saw her in the diner. They are having sex as often as they are following leads. It is a good thing that Alaska is the Land of The Midnight Sun.

What do you get when you take a city girl out of the city and throw her in the wilds of Alaska on the hunt for a werewolf killing humans? Oh, and add in a hunky professor who makes her sizzle with just a look? Um, a really freaking great book! I could not put this down! It had it all! Mysterious wolf killing locals, hunky hero you can't help but fall for, brazen heroine who is smart and feisty, great side characters, steaming hot sex, and a well thought out and well written plot. I loved it!

Eliza has had the dream to be a reporter for as long as she can remember. Unfortunately, she isn't having any luck in finding that perfect job that will help her break out into the world of journalism. Down on her luck, she takes a job at a magazine that caters to the paranormal. Her first assignment is to head up to Alaska on the trail of a "werewolf" killing men. She's skeptical and disbelieving, but she also has bills to pay so she goes. Her first night in town, at a diner with her co-worker to brainstorm, she sees a fine specimen of a man and is struck speechless. Literally. Not able to get the nerve up to do more than ask to borrow his ketchup, she tuns back to her companion. Little does she know, the next day she'll see him again.

Professor Hunter McCall has an instant animal attraction the the beauty from the diner. But he watches her leave and regrets it immediately. Lucky for him, the next day she's in need of his expertise. See, he's an expert on wolves, in more ways than one. Eliza is trying her hardest to create as realistic of a story as she can to be true to herself while still doing her job. At the advice of a friendly cop on the murder case, she heads to the college to chat with the hottie professor to get his take on the wolf angle. The two are drawn to each other and can't seem to stay apart. They embark on a steamy relationship while also on the hunt for the rogue wolf. Turns out our professor knows a little more than he lets on, seeing as he's also a werewolf. As more bodies are piling up, they start to find the clues they need to figure out who's behind the deaths.

What I liked most about this story was that it flowed continuously and there were never any dull moments. Whether Eliza and Hunter were searching for clues as to who the bad guy was, or they were tearing up the sheets, I was captivated the entire time. I liked that when she found out what he was, she didn't lose her cool. In fact, she was pretty calm and collected throughout all the crazy things she learned and saw. I felt like she was a brave and strong woman and I like that in my heroines. Hunter may have been a professor, but he was still every inch the alpha male I love to read about. He was sweet and tender with Eliza while also bold and brave. I really loved the two of them together. I also really liked the secondary characters. I liked that there was a mystery aspect to this story. I just liked everything about it! Ok I take that back, there was only one thing I had an issue with. The editing. While it wasn't horrendous, there was a lot of mistakes. Most I was able to overlook, but some I was not and they irked me. I don't think they took anything away from the story, but I still felt the need to mention them. Overall, I really enjoyed Animal Attraction and I would love to read the next in this series!

My second book by this author and it's the first in her new Alaskan Werewolf series so a great place to start if new to this author. This story has apparently been released previously but is now expanded with additional characters and even though I haven't read the previous addition I feel that this is a good length with lots going on and a great introduction to this world that the author is creating.
Eliza has wanted all her life to be the sort of journalist that people respect but unfortunately she just seems to be used as a fact checker! Getting a new job working at a paranormal magazine may not be the dream she's always held close but at least it will pay the bills and for once it will be her name on the by line. Ok so far so good but being sent to Alaska to chase up a werewolf story? Now that's just insane and Eliza feels that she just might have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire!
Fairbanks is home to werewolf Hunter and he's used to the odd lone wolf challenging him for territory but the recent murders are certainly not what he's used to. It would seem a werewolf newly turned has an ax to grind and Hunter needs to find that person and stop the killing. Meeting Eliza quite by chance sets all his senses alive but realising she's out hunting a story about werewolves gives him pause. Luckily the attraction is mutual and pretty soon they will work together but Hunter needs to keep his guard up which is getting incredibly tricky. Unfortunately the rogue werewolf hasn't finished with their killing spree and poor Eliza keeps finding herself directly in the cross hairs! Can Hunter stop the rogue before it's too late? If he does though what will happen next as Eliza admits she's a city girl so there's no way that she would ever stay in Alaska, is there?
I really enjoyed this story and thought it was a great introduction to this series. I love a mystery and even though paranormal stories are my favourite genre I do love a story filled with plot and suspense. This book has that in spades with an unusual premise that I haven't seen before. If you enjoy action in your romance then you will not be disappointed as both the villain and the hero clash a time or two but I found the heroine Eliza to be the biggest revelation! She may not be a super duper paranormal or anything but she is a very courageous and intelligent young woman and I love it when heroines fight back.
This is a romance and this author writes seriously steamy scenes so please be prepared for erotic interactions but as I expect passion I a werewolf story I'm fine with that. Interesting characters and Hunter apparently has a twin living in Seattle so maybe we will get his story soon. A well thought out story and I will certainly read more from this author.

Love a good shifter book? A good mystery with action? A good romance, with good characters? That’s what you get when you read this book. I enjoyed the book, except for one aspect which I will talk about farther down in the review.

What I liked about this book
The premise of a reporter from a paranormal magazine(sent to prove if werewolves exist), falling for a werewolf, was pretty interesting. I love a good shifter, love story, and this was a pretty good one. I loved the mystery of the rogue shifter killing people. There’s lots of action and suspense in that part of the story which I really enjoyed. I loved the characters of Eliza and Hunter and their romance, even if it was pretty much insta-love. I would have liked a bit more world building as it pertained to the insta-love aspect. Was it a mate thing? I still don’t know and actually Hunter wondered the same thing. And while I am on the subject of Hunter, I really liked what a good guy he is in this story. The author didn’t make him have a temper or blackouts or any number of things I have read in other books about werewolves, and I liked that! It also hurt a lot when he shifted. I think a pack would have added to the story as well-it just was another and different aspect of the world building, in that Hunter lives alone, with no pack around him. And that isn’t a complaint.

What I didn’t like about this book
I was really excited to get this book from Net Galley for review. However, I ended up wishing that it had been mentioned that this was pretty much erotica, along with a really good story. I am not a fan of erotica, and I would not have requested the book had I known. Not the authors fault at all. I don’t mind a good sex scene(or several) and actually expect them; this book just crossed into the erotica arena a bit for me. BUT, I did really love the story itself, so I just skimmed through the sex scenes after awhile, and that was fine.

Who would I recommend this book to?
Any adult that likes shifter or paranormal stories that feature erotica elements.

Actually, I really liked the premise, the romance, the characters, the mystery, just about everything about this book. I can live with the erotica element, because I really enjoyed the rest of the read.(PureTextuality.com)

ANIMAL ATTRACTION, Alaskan Werewolves Series Book 1, Paige Tyler
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
This started well, very intriguing premise and I was quickly pulled into the story. Eliza is a fun character, working for a low grade paper after being fired from her old one, she's using it as a stepping stone to get back up the ladder on the press route. Though the paper is a paranormal features one, she's sceptical and can't quite believe that people really think that supernatural creatures exist, and isn't sure how she can write her stories witout compromising her principles of telling the truth ( wish all journos were like that!) She decides to gather evidence as if she were on a normal case and take it from there. She meets Hunter – Hunter the Hunk! - who's not only a local expert on wolves but also a werewolf himself. He's concerned about the killings too – it doesn't look good on his pack if there's someone out killing, they try hard to blend in unnoticed and killing people is the last thing they'd do...then he and Eliza meet, he helps her with the evidence gathering... and they get closer, very much closer ;-) and there's some hot and erotic scenes between them. Things get more personal with the rogue werewolf, more killings and Eliza is in danger.
It's a good story, well executed, and plotted and it ought to have been a five star read for me. I'm not sure why it wasn't, somehow I just started to lose interest halfway through, but I can't explain what went wrong for me. It's still a decent read, good length and price and if, as it seems, its the start of a series I'd be happy to continue. First books in a series have a hard job – they need to introduce characters and also keep the reader interested in the story, and that's tough to pull off. I liked the characters and settings here, I think maybe it was just a lack of real tension and drama in the story for me, I never really thought Eliza was in grave danger and the plot was quite predicatable in how it played out.
Stars: Three – its a good read, just not a great one for me. If you want a paranormal that sexy and easy to read, you'll enjoy this. I just need that bit more edge and drama , and need to puzzle out who, what and why.

After taking a job at a paranormal magazine, reporter Eliza Bradley is sent on her first assignment…to investigate rumors that a werewolf killed two men in this riveting paranormal romance.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers shivering in anticipation with lots of suspense, action, drama and romance. The author brings the story to life with well written words and details that inspire vivid images and capture the imagination and the well orchestrated suspense and drama draw the reader deeper in the story. The action scenes are full of lots of pulse pounding excitement and along with the strong compelling characters that are easily related to, grab the reader’s attention and ensure that the reader turns page after page.

The attraction between Eliza and Hunter explodes from the pages at first sight and blazes throughout the story with some red hot sex scenes. The relationship gets a little complicated when Eliza finds out that Hunter is not just an animal in bed but out of it as well… as in he’s a werewolf. The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the passion and excitement of their relationship as it catches the reader by storm and ensures that the reader follows along.

Before Eliza has time to really digest that her lover is indeed a werewolf, the killer strikes again and she realizes it that only she and Hunter can stop him. As the danger escalates Eliza also discovers there more to this killer that they first thought and along with some friends land in hot water that may just be the end unless Hunter can rescue them in time.

There’s certainly never a dull moment with these captivating characters, thrilling search for a killer and lots of sizzling passion in this fascinating werewolf world that the author has added her own intriguing elements to. I was completely caught up in this book from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Being a fact checker at San Fran Chronicle just ain't cutting it for Eliza Bradley anymore, so she gives her boss two choices... Shortly after, she finds herself cleaning out her desk. Frustrated and about to give up and go back to fact checking, a reporting job comes up and Eliza soon finds herself in Fairbanks, Alaska on her very first reporting assignment...she goes there to investigate an animal attack, precisely a werewolf attack but what she finds or rather meets is a delicious, kissable, lickable, fuckable college professor by the name of Hunter McCall that has the kind of animal magnetism that would make you want to strip, get down on all fours and submit to whatever he wants or commands...

Hunter doesn't quite know how to handle the reaction he's having for the delectable Eliza Bradley. Just her smell alone is distracting him to the point he can't grade his students papers. He's gotta have her and have her he will...or all his students will gets A's whether they deserve them or not...

This is an incredible read from the beginning to the end. Paige Tyler is an amazing author and I have thoroughly enjoyed every book that I have read of hers. I have many more to go and so look forward to reading all her books. Once I finish with one I cross my fingers while I check to make sure I have another one that I have already purchased to read and if not, then I hope like hell I've got money in my reading fund to purchase one right away...lol... Thanks Paige for all these wonderful, sexy and fantasy inducing books you write, and please thank your research assistant too... Brenda :)

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

I love reading shifter books and when I saw the cover and name of this book I had to see what it was about. It didn't take long to get into the book and I knew I wouldn't be able to put the book down until I had read every single page. The author sure did a great job keeping my attention. It was so exciting and thrilling. I love when I get a book that keeps my attention and doesn't get boring.

This is the first book in the Alaskan Werewolf Series. I can't wait to see what the next book is like. As I was reading the book I wondered what I would do if there really was a paranormal magazine. I would be so excited to work for them. Eliza Bradley doesn't feel the way I do though. I believe that she would love it at first if she really believed that there were other beings out there. Eliza is sent to Alaska with her photographer Alex. She never thought that she would change into a believer.

Hunter McCall is a professor at the local college. He also has a double life because believe it or not he is a werewolf. When these two meet it's sex at first site. They just can't keep there eyes and hands off each other. It's not long until they have to tell each other their secrets, but they don't have their minds on that because there really is a werewolf that is also killing people.

I have always wanted to go to Alaska and in this book I felt that I was really there and experiencing everything that was going on in the book. I would recommend this book to everyone to read.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a really fun and sexy intro to a new series of Alaskan shifter filled with a solid murder/mystery and some yummy romance. The writing style was very engaging and made for a quick, enjoyable read overall.

Eliza is a determined reporter. She won't be stopped by the fact that she was only hired as a tabloid paranormal reporter slow down her career. Sent to the Alaska on a werewolf assignment, the last thing she expects is to meet the real thing. There's a string of murders that all point towards a dangerous killer on the loose, whether it is paranormal or not, and the story certainly had you wondering when the murderer would strike again. On her way to unraveling the mystery, Eliza meets the hottie teacher, Hunter, who certainly knows a lot about wolves. Their attraction really skyrockets from the first meeting. Suddenly, Eliza finds herself wondering if she might be able to see herself in Alaska for more than just a story.

This intro to the series book was enough to have me looking into the author's other works. It was nice to have a quick and easy read that had bits and pieces of all the things I like about paranormal romance. I'm interested in seeing what else is released from this author in the future. This book was definitely worth checking out if you're into hot werewolf romance reads that will also deliver a healthy dose of murder/mystery.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 3 1/2
REVIEW:
Animal Attraction the re-release of Paige Tyler’s first book in her Alaskan Werewolf series.

Being unemployed sucks. That is how Eliza ends up finding herself in the middle of Alaska trying to track down a killer werewolf. Of course Eliza doesn’t believe in such things which makes working for a Paranormal newspaper a little hard. But once she is on the trail Eliza realized that there is much more to this story then just the paranormal. So with the help of the hunky professor and wolf expert Hunter McCall, Eliza is going to solve this case even if it kills her.

I enjoyed this book. I really like how Eliza’s mind worked and her openness to the paranormal world. And Hunter was just great. I really enjoyed the first interaction with Hunter and Eliza. Who knew ketchup could lead to true love. What to know what I am talking about? You need to pick up a copy of Animal Attraction and find out for yourself.

ANIMAL ATTRACTION is a contemporary steamy shifter wolf story that is very entertaining. The looking for a wolf while unknowingly being with one was a great start to this story of Eliza and Hunter. I found it amusing that Eliza worked for a paranormal newspaper but didn’t believe in the paranormal. Her determination to get the facts was a compelling reason to like her. Plus, she was a strong minded individual but willing to adjust her thinking according to the facts. I liked that. Hunter was not just a hunk of a guy but an interesting intelligent one too. I liked that too. I found the setting in Alaska to be quite a nice addition. It fit this story very well. Overall a very intriguing story with romance, secrets, action, suspense, mystery and a few twists.
I went to Paige Tyler’s website to read about this before requesting since she is not an author I had read books by before. The site stated that this is a reissue but if this was written years ago. It is worth a second look. I recommend this book if you enjoy well written werewolf stories.

For lack of better options, Eliza Bradley's forced to take a job with a paranormal magazine. And look her assignment is to find a werewolf in Fairbanks, Alaska that's attacking people. A werewolf of all things, what about her credibility? When Hunter McCall finds out Eliza's companion is her co-worker and not her boyfriend, he decides he's very interested and chastises himself for not asking her to join him.

When she's uncertain about her source's sanity, Eliza talks to the police and the chief refers her to zoologist, Dr. Hunter McCall, a professor at the university. Hunter's more than happy to talk to Eliza when she tracks him down to the office but he can't tell her the truth. His brother calls about the attacks and wonders aloud if another were is challenging Hunter for his territory and if he can help.

The rogue attacks Eliza and Hunter has no choice but to save her in his wolf form which causes an uncomfortable situation. This quick read hit all the basics but felt a bit rushed in places, especially the romance and the mystery pieces. The romance re-defined speed dating and one of the suspects confessed when they looked at him.

I started reading Paige Tyler when she was writing spanking romances. Then I read a few of her Paranormal books like Dead Sexy, Vampire 101 and Her Perfect Mate and they were elaborate thrillers and now I read Animal Attraction ( Alaskan Werewolves Book 1) and this story line is totally awesome. Eliza gets a job on a Paranormal Magazine and goes to Alaska with a photographer to research and write a story on Werewolves who attacked and killed several people. She turns to Hunter, a professor of wolves and their culture, and they feel an instant attraction. Hunter has one little secret that he doesn't share and that is that he is a Werewolve but love will overcome these pesky little details. There is still a rouge killer Werewolve on the loose and he would love to kill Eliza and Hunter. There is some spanking and it's the erotic sexy kind and it's so hot it could melt your panties.
Bravo Paige, more please.

I was so happy to see Hunter have some self control when it came to Eliza, "it was damn hard not inviting himself into Eliza's room when they got back to the hotel, especially when he could smell her arousal." Even though Hunter and Eliza have serious conversations the boy can't keep his eyes of his woman, "the cops will want me to take a look at the scene anyway." He waited until she wiggled into her panties, then handed over her bra, his eyes slowly roaming her body and making her shiver. "Especially since the guy got attacked in his house." He always makes time for his woman no matter what he has to do, "unable to stop himself, Hunter slid his hand in her hair and covered her mouth with his for a long, hard kiss before he finally lifted his head with a groan. "Oh, the hell with it. Maybe we do have time for a quickie." I loved reading this book there was romance, mystery, danger, an actual story, and the naughty bits were really fun.

4.5 stars!

This series is off to a great start! Eliza finds herself having to take a writing job for a paranormal tabloid and ends up in Alaska with her photographer partner, looking for a rogue werewolf. Eliza doesn't believe a word of it, but she begins to nose around town after 2 residents have been killed 30 miles apart. Local law enforcement is cooperative and she also is helped by Hunter, a professor who studies wolves. He is also the hunk that Eliza met at a small diner over a bottle of ketchup and thought she would never see again. Hunter has secrets, but he does help Eliza and the law when more deaths occur.
Eliza and Hunter have great chemistry and I thought this story was sexy and fast paced. I wonder who the next story will be out. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I was given an ARC of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

Sometimes we have to make choices we do not want but need to in order to survive. For both Eliza and Hunter. Each have had to make hard choices in their lives. For Eliza she wants to be a journalist, but after years of being a fact checker, it's just not enough anymore. Losing her job she finally decides she just may be desperate enough to write a a paranormal magazine. Her first story? A werewolf killing in Alaska.

For Hunter being a werewolf isn't easy. He's all alone and really can't share his secret with anyone except his brother and father. He knows the outcome of sharing his secret first hand. People just can't handle it. When he sees Eliza though, all bets are off. He has to have her and as they grow closer to not only each other but figuring out what's really going on...their lives are going to be changed forever.
