Delta James is a USA Today bestselling author of steamy romantic suspense and paranormal romance. Known for her fast-paced, heart-racing, panty-melting stories, Delta writes fierce heroines, dominant heroes, dangerous secrets, and irresistible fated mates. From alpha shifters prowling the wild to powerful billionaires ruling the boardroom, her books deliver heat, suspense, and unforgettable chemistry.

Delta never planned to write romance. In fact, she launched her author career in 2018 after deciding her second act in life needed a little more passion… and possibly a little more bite. Since then, she’s published dozens of addictive romances for readers who love their happily-ever-afters with plenty of steam and danger.

She lives in Florida with her pack of loyal basset hounds (who firmly believe they run the household), and when she’s not writing steamy scenes or plotting revenge for her latest heroine, she can usually be found riding horses, walking the beach, or chasing her next adventure on the river.

This story of Branson and Renata has it all. They have a bit of back and forth as Bran realizes Renata doesn't really know much about herself, her Wolf or Fated Mates. Bran is just the man to show her who and what she is and how much he values her. Renata was brought up to not trust wolf shifters
but knows a lot about her sorceress abilities and tries to hide them. What she doesn't know is that she will play a key role when the time comes to battle against The Darkness. Brandon is the perfect lover for Renata and she for him, once he gets past her fears of being the fated mate of a wolf shifter. I enjoyed the pairing of this couple, they were hot and sexy and loving when there wasn't such fears to deal with and lonely Renata finds herself part of a big loving family. I'm looking forward to the final battle with The Darkness, the end is inevitable, and should be exciting and scary.

The author never failed to pull you in to the story, made you feel that you are a part of their lives. And make you missed those pack of wolves. This story is a little respite from their enemy, and within this time, they have found the weapon to defeat their enemy. Can't wait for the next book.

This is book four of the Fated Legacy series and tells the story of alpha wolf shifter Bran (Branson) Norris, son of the Alpha of the Ravenscar pack and Madonna of the North, Shea, and his fated mate, Renata, daughter of a sorceress who was forcibly turned into a wolf shifter and raped repeatedly by an evil man who wanted to create his own twisted pack. He had many women under his control, taken from their homes towns and ill-treated for his own sick purposes, until wolves came and rescued all the others and Renata’s mother used her magic to escape and go home to a remote farmhouse in the Hebrides, Scotland. Renata was brought up to hate her wolf side, which she only found out about in hr late teens and hadn’t shifted for years. She was in college when she signed up for an archaeological dig in Israel and that is where she met Bran, who was already a tenured professor in Oxford. She had never experienced pack life and Bran tries to slowly introduce her to her wolf side as well have a great time together in bed, but not going as far as knotting her and claiming her as his mate, as she is still wary and scared of some aspects of wolf life.
She runs away from him when the dig is over, hoping he will forget about her and knowing he has no idea where she really lives, as she had only mentioned her college life in Edinburgh. She hasn’t revealed the massive secret in her life, that she is a sorceress as well as a wolf, mainly due to her upbringing with her mother and aunt, who hated anything to do with wolf shifters and Bran’s own comments about magic and magic wielders! She lives in her small village, working as a school teacher and comes back to his attention some four years later, after she saves some of her students during a massive storm that destroyed much of the village. She is invited to London, where the proceeds of an art sale will be given to the school and village to help with repairs. Bran chases after her before someone from the Inverness pack tries to claim her! This time round, he won’t let her run away from him and he will make sure he claims and ties her. He and Renata are called back from their short time together when news of a bigger danger comes to them. The Darkness is a being that possessed one of their Alphas and caused him to kill some of his pack, until someone managed to kill the Alpha and the Darkness had to take over another body, which was known to be travelling north towards Ravenscar.
This Darkness was once imprisoned by one of the large and powerful wolf families in New Orleans and it seems it wants vengeance against them and will kill as many as it needs to feed itself and power its long journey to their location. Legend and local lore has it that the wolves will need a dire wolf pairing as well as a magic wielder, to stop them, so it is a good thing that Renata is now part of their family now. A great tale of an Alpha wolf having to be patient and never giving up on his search for his fated mate! I can’t wait to see if they can capture and put an end to this Darkness, which has caused so much death and misery over centuries. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

SHE WASN’T JUST A SHE-WOLF. SHE WAS A SORCERESS

The series is an ongoing saga. I love that we see the next generation—the offspring of those from Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines—but we also get to catch up with the couples from the first two series. The story takes place in 2048 and moves around the globe. The fifth story will bring Renata Valor and Branson ‘Bran’ Norris together. When they meet at an archeological dig in Isreal, Bran knows his fated mate is here when he meets her at the airport. But these two won’t find happiness right away—they will be apart for years before he can claim her.

The story’s plot is different from the rest, as that Bran and Renata will not have known each other before the dig in Israel. Renata was raised in the Hebrides by her mother and aunt, who were powerful sorceresses and taught her well. Because of the fate forced upon Breagha, she discouraged Renata from embracing her wolf.

“She’s ours—yours and mine. We will raise her to be a fine and loving child. We will teach her our ways, and someday she will be part of our coven.”

When Bran and Renata meet, she is overwhelmed with a mighty headache, but Bran understands and offers to help her recover. He knows she is his fated mate, a she-wolf, and shares his feelings with her—but he also states his disbelief in magick.

Renata: Do you really think you could help with how I’m feeling?
Bran: I do. Within the confines of the boundaries you’ve set, I can help alleviate it, but I can’t eradicate it.
Renata: Why?
Bran: Because that would involve my claiming you as my fated mate. There’s my good mate. This is how it is between fated mates. We may as well start the way we’ll go.

Their relationship will be temporary and appears to be doomed for years. But Bran has never given up his search for her, and now he has a strong lead—she won’t get away from him this time. But, this time, Renata is in a different mindset and not the least bit surprised when he shows up. He will do what he didn’t before; he will knot and tie her to him and claim her ultimately.

Bran: Welcome home, sweetheart.
Renata: From the first moment you touched me again, I was home.

The story has the good, the bad, and the evil. Renata will learn more about her mother and the past—it isn’t something that can be changed. She understands that with Bran, she isn’t alone. She doesn’t just become his mate; she gets a large family with siblings and pack members. She made friends while in London, and the friendships will prove substantial in destroying the Darkness. The series has at least one more story that will take place in the United States.

“Watching the brilliant display of color, the malevolent force waited. It was growing stronger, and soon it would be able to strike back at all those who had tried to destroy it. This time there would be no escape.”

Each book in the ‘Fated Legacy’ series has been excellent, and “Touch of Ice” definitely meets the high standards author Delta James has set for herself. In this series the adult children of couples from ‘Wayward Mates’ and ‘Tangled Vines’ have been dealing with an evil force known as The Darkness. This is a well-written story that you can enjoy on its own, although I do think it’s even better if you’re familiar with the series.

Branson (Bran) is a tenured archaeology professor at Oxford University, and heir to the Alpha of a highly respected pack of wolf shifters. Renata is a powerful sorceress and a she-wolf without a pack. Her mother and her aunt raised her with a strong distrust of wolf shifters, and many unanswered questions about her own father. She doesn’t even know who he is, and he has never been a part of her life. Renata is an expert on a certain aspect of archaeology. When Bran and Renata meet at an archaeological dig, the attraction between them is overwhelming. He recognizes that they are fated to be together; she doesn’t understand wolfen society so she fears what could happen if she goes against what she was taught and puts her trust in a wolf shifter. She panics, but eventually destiny has its way. The journey is an interesting and exciting one, and weaves together characters from several different series in an amazingly seamless way.

Despite the fact that her characters are supernatural, the author manages to make them multidimensional and very ‘real’. Those same characteristics apply to their interpersonal relationships with friends and family, their careers and hobbies, and the good causes they support. They aren’t entirely human, yet they show more humanity than many pureblood humans do.The heat level in this book is high enough that it should probably come with a small cooling device. By the end of the story, Bran and Renata are in a great place within their relationship, and the bigger story of seeking to defeat The Darkness has taken a huge step forward by adding magick to the mix.

I read an advance review copy of this book and am leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

A simply wonderfully, captivating addition to the series I have been reading….
This was a wonderful addition to the series and as entertaining and exciting as the previous other reads in the series had been, I have to say that this just held my attention from the moment I picked up the book to the very final page.
This was different from the previous books and I do not want to spoil the read for others I want you to be as entertained and captivated by the plot and the characters that will hold my attention in full from start to finish.
Being born or parents that are both from different shifters have caused constant rejection from both the wolf shifters and also the Sorceress’s who abhor mixed parentage which is simply beyond understanding, allowing a child to know that abandonment and knowing that no one wanted you when you parents were not around.
Branson Norris is the opposite with a parentage to be envied his father and mother are both well known within the wolf shifter community and he is convinced that she is his mate and yet the ruling council do not want this to happen but he is a stubborn and strong male and knows his mind.
The Darkness is still hungry for its shifter that it can inhabit, it has learned that only a supernatural with these strengths is strong enough to carry its essence and yet to survive they know they will have to fight together to remain as themselves.
Is their love and their need for each other strong enough to wage war against the Darkness?
You will have to read this wonderful story and find out for yourself……
I have attached a copy of the above review for this book which I enjoyed reading and reviewing and would like to thank you for the opportunity.
Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me I will endeavour to help you in any way I am able.
I look forward to your reply,

Delta James is a whizz author when it comes to paranormal stories. Her latest in the Fated Legacy series is Touch of Ice. It centers around a she-wolf who has been denied her heritage - she's a sorceress but has been brought up to believe the wolf side of her is deplorable - not to be accepted. She has lived outside a pack with her mother and her aunt, but when they pass away she is in an isolated area - the Outer Hebrides - where she has been ever since she came back from an archeological dig in Egypt many years previously. When she left that dig - she also left Brandon Norris - who knows she is his fated mate. She used her sorceress powers to become invisible and literally walked past him in the airport and went home. She's been under the radar ever since. Bran never gave up looking for her and when she needs to travel to London for a fundraiser to help the school and village where she lives, he immediately jumps to go grab her. She outwits him again getting back to the islands. But she enters her home knowing he is inside waiting for her.
How will these two sort out their issues? Will she listen to Bran and accept her future with him - or will she walk away from what could be her greatest legacy?
The story is riveting, full of adventure, emotion, angst, uncertainties, determination, a pig-headed male wolf-dom and all the feel good feelings only Delta can provide.
A highly recommended read.

Renata Valor was a child of a witch who was turned into a wolf against her wishes by DeMoncada when wolf females were rare. Her mother Breagha, was repeatedly raped, so when she was able to escape when the castle was attacked, making her way to the Hebrides and her sister, a midwife and fellow sorceress. Renata was born, lived with her mother and aunt, never knowing her wolf part, but becoming a powerful sorceress in her own right. I was surprised that the Darkness was not more prominently featured in this book. It definitely feels like we are gearing up for the climatic battle with the Darkness.

I did like Bran and Renata as a couple. I enjoyed their story. It felt to me like something was missing. I think I was spoiled by the Wayward Mates series. Those books seemed to me to be longer with more detail. I read this book in one sitting, and I felt like I was getting a glimpse into Bran and Renata, as well as the situation with the Darkness.

I liked that Renata was a sorceress, but I honestly expected her to have a stronger and more lasting reaction to the news that Shea provided

Maybe that is the point of the way the Fated Legacy series seems to me. Starting with Travis and Skylar, we get these little glimpses into the overall story of the Darkness until we reach that final big moment when it is defeated. Maybe I am feeling a little melancholy because I know we are almost at the end of the series.

I think the original she wolves and their mates were much more fierce than their offspring. I am still looking forward to the next book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

The Darkness is Coming!

What a great story and the perfect lead-up to the battle of all battles. I loved Renata and Branson’s story. A beautiful love story between two very strong individuals. No matter their backgrounds and their past experiences, they cannot fight their future as fated mates. Branson sees the light way before Renata does but he does not give up. He will have her no matter how long it takes.

I loved how well this story was told as it provided the next piece of the puzzle so to speak and it brought back many of my favorite characters from the other books. And the build up to the battle which will come in the final book was so good. So now I have to impatiently wait for another month (I believe) before I can read the final book in this series. While this story focused on Renata and Branson’s relationship, it also set the stage for what is to come. So good!!

In the second to the last book in the Fated Legacy Series, Renata, sorceress and she-wolf shifter, is drawn to her fated mate without knowing exactly what that means. Bran knows she is his immediately, although she keeps some secrets close to the vest. When she leaves him in an airport, he spends four years searching for her. When he finds her, he will not let her go. The Darkness is maneuvering and manipulating its way back to its enemies, and it will take Renata, Bran and their friends assembling their weapons and gearing up for battle to defeat it.
Delta James writes paranormal mystery series that captivate and leave you yearning for the next book. This is no exception. This book does not stand alone, but really needs to be read as part of the series. The finale cannot come soon enough. This is absolutely a five star read.

More focused on the fated mates than taking on the Darkness, this tale takes us from Britain to the Middle East and back. Branson knows Renata is his destiny the moment he sees her. She knows little of her wolfen nature so his alpha male personality does not gel well with her. Fear drives her from his arms but he never gives up on finding her. Once he does, years later, he claims her for his own. Secrets will be revealed that will have far-reaching implications.

I enjoyed this story a lot. Bran is less of an alphahole than the other mates, giving Renata time to understand how to be a wolf and how things will be in their pairing. Renata is a great heroine, strong and independent, with a secret that will come in handy more than once. James and Shea's large family (they are the most prolific of the Wayward Mates group by far) open their arms and hearts to Renata, as do the other Fated Legacy kids.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

After being warned off from male wolves shifters by her mother all her life, Renata grew up as a lone wolf not belonging to any pack. She meets Branson in an archeological dig and even though she falls in loves with him, she runs away. Bran never forgot his fated mate and kept looking for her since she left him. When fate brings them back together, he will never let her leave again. But Renata has a dark secret she had never revealed to him. Surprisingly, this secret will be the ace in the hole when the gang goes to fight the evil darkness.
After meeting Renata as a side character in "A touch of Fire", she now has her own sexy, fun story with a hot alpha male hero by her side.
We are one book away from the end of the series and I can't wait to read how the gang fights off the darkness and wins!

The Witch and the Wolf…

I am so loving this series by Delta with is thrilling action adventure as fiercely independent she wolves take on their growly dominate alpha’s as they take on a dark force of evil…
Renata was raised as a witch with her mother and aunt in the isolated and remote Scottish Hebrides as a lone she wolf so when on an archaeological dig she unknowingly came across her fated mate.
Bran Norris knew instantly Renata was the one for him, his fated mate but when Renata disappears after a couple of blissful months Brans tracks her down to bring her to heel.
This book is a book of puzzles as each piece of the puzzle comes together, it forms a fast paced and thrilling read as it leads us up to what will be the ultimate conclusion against the darkness, and for that I can’t wait till I get to read the next book.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I don't like seeing the last page of this book. I love Delta James' writing. I love this world.

Renata is a sorceress and a wolf-shifter who has grown up isolated from other wolf-shifters. Her mother was a sorceress who was turned against her will to become a wolf shifter. Renata doesn't expect to meet Branson on a dig in Israel. Branson has found his fated mate and is shocked to discover that she grew up outside of the wolf society. She has kept a part of herself a secret and runs from Branson. Years later, he picks up her trail and goes to claim her. The Darkness is getting stronger and they will be needed before the end. Will they be able to work out their problems to find happiness together?

Such a good story. Branson, an Oxford archaeology, professor knows he has met his fated mate before he even steps off the plane in Israel. Renata is an educator and an archaeologist as well as a sorceress, but was mostly kept in the dark about her shifter side by her mother and aunt except that it is not a good thing and not to have anything to do with shifter packs. Renata's mother was one of a madman's victims to kidnap innocent women and impregnate them to carry female wolf shifters. When things get too serious between Bran and Renata, she flees. Bran will wait til Renata reveals herself, he knows at some point she will and he will find her and her reason for leaving him...and he knows just how to persuade her to tell him the truth! The sense of urgency is also present as the Darkness is on the move and must be stopped...by a sorceress....I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved this story!! Renata’s character has a rough start in life but definitely overcomes that! Bran has everything he could want except a fated mate. The two of these characters come alive when your reading this book! The emotional ride of their romance sucks you in to enjoy it also. And as you know, the path to a fated mate is never truly very easy. The loneliness and seclusion is not a good thing for anyone. For this writer to actually convey such feelings makes such a wonderful read!! Of course, the HEA is an absolute rewarding thing of beauty. I love this series that Delta James has created is just so detailed that I feel as the reader that I’m actually have stepped into that story. I definitely recommend if you like a good book!!

Branson Norris, professor at Oxford and heir to Ravenscar, meets his fated mate, Renata Valor, on an archeological dig in Israel.
Renata is powerful sorceress raised by her mother and aunt in the Hebrides. She makes certain that Renata is unaware of shifters and instructs her to keep both her heritage and her extraordinary power a secret. Bran tries to claim Renata but she is frightened by the horrific tales her mother has told her about shifters and runs from Bran. Unfortunately, Renata escapes but nothing will keep Bran from his mate. Renata’s power is crucial to the elimination of the Darkness.
Many twists and turns makes a captivating plot. A delightful addition to the Fated Legacy series!

I’m actually a bit sad about this book because it’s the near the end of this fun shifter series. This book brings in Renata, a solitary wolf who brings with her one of the things needed to defeat The Darkness. The fact that she is a sorceress as well as a wolf shifter has always been a problem for her but it now becomes an advantage.
Honestly at this point I think I’m enjoying the main overall story more than the individual romances. Not that there is much wrong with them but after reading the previous series and now these ones the romances are feeling a bit repetitive in some aspects. The overall story about trying to defeat The Darkness however is still just as exciting.

Delta has skilfully woven all the different threads together and all we have to do now is wait for the last book.

We are getting closer to the end. They have found their sorceress. Renata is both a wolf shifter and a sorceress. She has been raised outside of the packs, so she is at a loss when dealing with an alpha. Branson is an alpha and he has found his mate in Renata.

This is a wonderfully complex book. The author skillfully weaves all the different threads together to give us a better picture. This is not the last book in the series, that is still coming. I loved the HEA for Renata and Branson and am looking forward to the next book.

Lovded the story. The suspense about the Darkness is still playing in the background with the main story being about Branson finding his mate, Renata and the problems he faces in claiming her. I love how this is a series and how the books are connected to each other. There are certain individuals, especially the sassy females from previous books, that appear and add humor and spice to the story. This is a book worth reading and I would highly recommend it, along with the earlier books in this series.

Branson Norris meets Renata at a dig site in Israel and instantly knows she is his fated mate. Renata was raised by her mom and aunt who like her were great sorcerers, except unlike her mom was born a wolf shifter, not turned. There is drama, revelations and love instore for her and Bran works to get Renata's trust. I am enjoying this new generation of shifters in this series and like the fact that each book is a stand a long read, with lots of history that brings in prior characters. I loved this one. I had not read Shannon's story so I am reading it now. This author is amazing. How she keeps all her characters in line is wonderful, she is like a general marshalling her troops! I loved resourceful, sweet and loving Renata. Branson needed his mammy to give him a kick up the but!! I loved all the characters. There are plenty of different elements in the book that make this a real page-turner and so hard to put down. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I very highly recommend it. This story begs the question to me of why let fear determine who you are and who you love. Their love seemed to be destined but still the separation due to fear was heart felt. I thoroughly enjoyed the emotional side of this book and I really think anyone who reads will become invested in the emotions of the characters. I mean I really could feel the loss of love, the love and family bond as if I was part of the book.

A great read

Bran and Renata is story is a great addition and continuation of the Fated Legacy series. Ms. James knows how to combine strong characters and engaging plots into a great tale. I love this series as I have all of her others. I'm conflicted on whether to jump right into the next book, which concludes the series, or prolong the time so I don't get to the end too soon. I'll be sad to see these characters go but I know there will be more great stories about other equally engaging characters.

I loved this book. Now need the next one to see what happens next! I loved the way that Branson's family and friends all accepted who Renata was. Her greatest secret that kept her and Branson apart was only an issue in her mind. There were things that she learnt about herself that she didn't know and had to deal with. She is such a strong character and Branson never gave up looking for her! Can't wait for the next one!

The Darkness saga continues. They have finally found the sorceress they need to get rid of it for good.
Renata is a very stubborn woman who left her fated mated. Four years later he found her and she was done hiding.

The author started with the present time and jumped back and forth. I felt it was difficult to follow at times. In the end, it was well worth it to see where Renata and Branson ended up.
